Nailed Down #3

Kneel Down

Rate this book
My job as a SEAL was to go in and save the day.
But even heroes fall. Even heroes make mistakes.

My only saving grace was Gin Sullivan.
My knock out best friend who wasn’t afraid to tell me the truth even when it hurt. She’d pick me up when I was wallowing in my own stupidity.

It wasn’t hard for me to fall for her.
Any man would.
She was beautiful.
She was smart.
She was everything I’d ever wanted.

I had plans to tell her that, squash the pinning we’d both done for two years.
But a bullet to the gut silenced me and Gin got tired of waiting.

Now I have a new mission, one that I can’t fail:
Do whatever it takes to make Gin mine forever.

Favorite Quote:

Words always get in the way. They did. Somehow, it was the words we didn’t say that injured the most. It was the silence that kept us from what we want.

My Review:

I struggled to finish this one, not that the book was bad, it just wasn’t aligned with or palatable to my personal taste as constant conflict just isn’t my jam. The angsty storylines were missing the critical element of wit and levity that I had come to expect from these talented authors and instead appeared to be a repetitive cycle of 90% conflict, reticence, and forfeiture. I also failed to connect with the painfully stubborn and annoying morose characters, I found them exasperating. However, for readers who have a proclivity for angsty and quarrelsome tales with a few sizzling scenes of hot steamy sex, this would be a quick and tasty treat.

Dale and Gin

Dale an x navy seal. Had a hard life. Loving someone was next to impossible for him. Letting go anger and heartache was not easy. He was married but she cheated on him. Gin was his friend when he needed a friend she was always there for him. Then he is shot. Gin says a moment before the shooting he was going to tell her how he felt. Now he has no idea what she's talking about

Wow, what a great book. Kneel Down is a smoking hot, suspenseful read which had me gripped from the first to the last chapter.

Kneel Down certainly wrung emotions out of me as I was reading and you could tell that Dale and Gin truly were meant to be together.

I fell for Dale right from the start, he was everything that I could imagine wanting and needing in my life and so much more. His protective alpha tendencies made him a swoon worthy hero. I loved the friendship that he and Gin had and it was gratifying to sees it develop in to so much more.

There is so much misunderstanding between Dale and Gin about their feelings for one another that it almost leapt of the pages. The chemistry between Dale and Gin is scorching and intense.

These two authors obviously work well together as I was unable to determine where one author ended and the other picked up; a sign of a great collaboration .

I think Dale's woman likes to purposely drive him mad at times, "...lay on his bed in nothing but my black lace bra and matching thong. “Oh, you’re effing killing me with this.” I liked this book, I loved Dale the man was fierce and protective.

-Kacie, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Kneel Down is the first book I’ve read by Chelle Bliss and/or Eden Butler and at first, I wasn’t really sure what to think. There was a lot more conflict that I usually like. More communication by Dale and more patience by Gin would have went a long way, but it would have taken away from the bigger picture. I would have liked to see more interaction between Dale and Gin before the conflict started. I haven’t read the first two books in the series, but I feel like they have what I want/need. It also took me about halfway through the book to realize what they were talking about when they talked about their job. Again, I feel like this would have been in the previous books. My recommendation would be to read the books in order and not as standalones.

I really liked Dale. He was a Seal, he was faithful, and for the most part, he was a good friend. But when it came to Gin, it seemed that he took more than he gave. But she let him do it. It took me awhile, but throughout the course of the story, I realized that I liked Gin too. She knew what she wanted and she could take care of herself. She had an instant attraction to Dale from the very beginning. But he was married and she was content to be his friend.

Dale’s heart was trampled over by his unfaithful ex-wife. He didn’t suspect a thing until she was gone. After she left, he had a hard time with words. With expressing himself the way he wanted to and with the way Gin wanted him to. Gin wanted the words and when he couldn’t say them she left. But what Gin didn’t realize was he might not have been saying it, but he was trying to show it. There is a lot more to it than that. Family drama, mobster friends, misunderstandings, memory loss, and a baby.

Overall I enjoyed this book and I’ll definitely be adding the previous books to my TBR list. I really enjoyed their writing style. I couldn’t tell a difference between the two authors, kudos to them! I’ll also be adding Chelle Bliss and Eden Butler to my ever growing list of new authors I need to read.

Kneel Down is the 3rd book in the Nailed Down Series.

I love it when these 2 authors get together to write a book.

Kneel Down is Dale Hunter and Gin Sullivan’s story. Gin was Dale’s best friend. She knew that he was off limits because he was married. Gin helped Dale pick up the pieces after Trudy his wife left him, things heated up between them. Then Trudy is back or so Gin thinks. She just can’t trust the relationship between herself and Dale. (that part drove me a little crazy) I also was torn between Dale and Johnny because it seemed like both wanted Gin.

#1 Nailed Down – Kane and Kit
#2 Tied Down – Kiel and Cara
#3 Kneel Down – Dale and Gin
#4 Will be Johnny’s story.

As always, I love reading Chelle Bliss’s books. Note to self, I need to read more of Eden Butler’s books. I can’t wait to read Johnny’s story and that book is next!

Dale and Gin's story is one that will have you feeling a lot of emotions. These two cannot for the life of them decide they love each other and that they will be great together. The emotions they express and the feelings I felt is what this book such a great read. This story has a great plot and two beautiful people made for each other.

Kneel Down by Chelle Bliss & Eden Butler is book Three in the Nailed Down Series. This is the story of Dale Hunter and Gin Sullivan. I have not yet read the previous books, so for me this was a standalone book.
Gin and Dale were best friends but Gin always had more feelings than that for Dale. But never crossed the line. When Dale's wife left him, Gin stood by his side. Of course Dale is not wanting to jump into anything since he had a bad experience already. But the more time he is with Gin he is starting to feel more for her than friendship. But things of course don't run smoothly for them.
I am a fan of Ms. Bliss's writing so this was a great read for me. This is the first book I have read by Eden Butler, but will look for more books by her.

WOW!!! What a great read!!! This one had me all over the place. I could have swore these two were never going to get their crap together! Dale and Gin just couldn't seem to find their happy place for the life of them!

I guess you could call this a best friends to not quite enemies to lovers and take it around again book. But I loved it!!! And I loved Dale's commitment to the people that matter to him, no matter what they have put him through. He's somewhat broken and gun shy but when push comes to shove he'll be there when he's needed the most. And Gin, tough as nails with a heart of gold! But oh my, she can be stubborn as all get out!

I'm so happy these two were finally able to pull their heads out of their respective behinds and listen to each other!!! Fantastic book!!!

Dale and Gin are a passionate couple whose friendship turned into something more. Gin was always there for Dale when he needed her and she knew in her heart that he was the one for her. Gin has a hard time trusting anyone and I feel she never really gave Dale a chance to profess his feelings to her. She would rather runaway then sit quietly and listen to him. She seemed to only think of herself and not about how her behavior had affected Dale. When it comes to relationships love, trust and communication are what Gin needs to know that she is with the right person.

Dale is a former Navy Seal who is brave, serious and level headed but when it came to Gin, he had no idea what he was doing. I felt bad for him every time he tried to talk to her about his feelings because he just couldn’t do it, even though in his heart he knew how he felt. Dale trusts Gin with his life and their friendship means everything to him but he definitely needs to man up and find the words necessary to win her heart. He cannot be closed up and silent with Gin because if he waits too long, someone else could take his place and he will lose her forever. Dale will follow Gin anywhere to win her back because she is his life and his forever.

Sooooooo the story is basically based on something ridiculous and both characters being unable to hold one basic simple conversation and on the H’s being unable to say « yes » when the h asks him if he does...
I kept reading thinking something else would explain their situation, but having finished the book I can confirm that the blurb could be « Dale : she asked if I loved her, I could not say the words even though my actions proved it, so she decided to leave. » 🙄🤷🏻‍♀️

Chelle Bliss and Eden Butler have clearly found their writing groove with Kneel Down. The 3rd in the Nailed Down series is definitely the best thus far and I was completely wrapped up the angst-filled love story that is Gin and Dale. These two best friends are most definitely feeling more for the other and through some miscommunication and more than a few misunderstandings, not to mention unfortunate circumstances, they almost miss out on what would ultimately be, one beautiful romance.

There is more than enough push and pull from both Gin and Dale with a world of hurt between them that Dale is having a hard time coming to grips with. That poor guy put his life on the line for his good friends, and in the process lost the only woman who had ever truly meant something to him.

Although this story keeps Dale and Gin apart much of the time, which in some books would drive me crazy, this aspect was executed perfectly by Bliss and Butler. We get past and present and explanations as to why Gin had to leave with a broken heart, with Dale seemingly puzzled by his bestie's actions. But it's tied together really well as touching memories finally come to light that bring about that 'a-ha' moment for both of them.

Both Gin and Dale are great characters, and I was rooting for them to put me out of my misery and finally find their way back to each other, even if that could only be as friends. There is a indisputable heat between Gin and Dale that gave this book the sexy it needed and the passion in each others's eyes only fueled the fire between them. It's damn HOT!

The entire Nailed Down crew is present and accounted for and are very important to this current story. A secondary character who turned out to be very endearing instead of a threat to Gin and Dale's happiness gets his story told next and I am really looking forward to that one.

Really well down, Bliss and Butler gave their all with Kneel Down and I happily give it a big 5 stars!

his is the 3rd book in the series. You can read each as a stand alone. I have read the other 2 in the series. Yes, the characters are explained, who's who. However, this book, goes into the characters, Gin & Dale. Gin & Dale started off as friends, then best friends. Dale was married, and Gin knew he was off limits.

Dale, was a USMC SEAL, he is now a handyman on a production show. Dale tries to protect those he cares about. Dale has one sister and one brother. His brother is a druggy who can't seem to get rid of his addiction. Dale is done with him, and has said that so many times. But will he finally kick him to the curb, or will he be able to finally get his brother some help and get him clean?

Gin, she works along side Dale on the production set. They have had a great relationship being friends and getting to know one another.

Things started heating up between Gin & Dale. But, as soon as it starts they stop. Dale was getting phone text messages from his ex, Trudy, and Gin though they still might be together. However, she never gave Dale the chance to explain t messages or what was actually going on. Gin can't not trusting Dale. She doesn't seem to know who to trust.

Gin gets involved with Johnny, only professionally, and he is actually involved with the Mafia MOB. Johnny has a TV crew starting up a new show in NYC. Gin thinks moving across country to get Dale out of her system is what she wants. Dale knows that Johnny is bad news and tries to rescue Gin, but, he knows better. Gin can handle herself, Dale just wants to step in and be the Alpha male.

I did receive a free ARC copy of this book. I am freely leaving an honest review.

Kneel Down is an entertaining read with wonderful characters and a great storyline. I will admit that I have not read the previous two books in this series, but I had absolutely no trouble following along. In fact, I loved the secondary characters (Kiel, Kit, Cara, Kane) so much that I downloaded the other 2 books so that I could have their stories!

What is not to love about Dale as he is a sexy Navy SEAL, loyal, loving, and protective of those he loves. He was burned pretty bad by his horrible ex-wife and his best friend, Gin, was there to support him and pick up the pieces. Gin is a caring friend but she wants more. The two of them have great chemistry, but they really needed to pull their heads out of their behinds! I wanted to shake both of them at times - basically lock them in a room together and tell them to stop being so stubborn. Gin and Dale start off as best friends and I do love a good friends-to-lovers books, but Kneel Down is also about second chances. I love that this book illustrates how lack of communication or misconstrued conversations can greatly affect a relationship. It also shows that actions can be louder than words, but sometimes those words do need to be spoken. Overall, I enjoyed Kneel Down as it had a great storyline that moved at a good pace as well as likable and well-developed characters. I am definitely looking forward to the next book in the series. I received this book for free.

Gin Sullivan knows how to handle herself and she knows what she wants. Dale Hunter looks for the answer to his trouble on the inside of a bottle. I know that this was listed as a standalone but you may find yourself wondering about some of the secondary characters that you meet. And especially after you find out about their current profession. The good news there are only two previous books if you need to catch up.

I know she doesn’t mean to but Gin seems to know just the right thing to poke the beast. Then our authors created another beast poker. After all, the beast needed a little incentive. That just may be your page-turner moment. Mine came it little bit before that especially because Dale seems to be totally oblivious to what is staring at him in the face.

I continue to love how these authors write together. You cannot tell, or at least I can’t, which author writes what. This makes everything run smoothly. It also makes it hard to take my eyes off the page. They also stayed true to the characters because they created the perfect ending for our couple. Then I did a happy dance because we’ve got a book four coming – can’t wait.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

4.5 Stars for Kneel Down book 3 in The Nailed Down Series and once again another great read from the talented duo of Chelle Bliss and Eden Butler.
This is a very emotional read right from the first chapter through to the final page, it’s a story about a couple who are truly meant to be together and if they can not accept that life would be a whole lot easier for Dale Hunter and Gn Sullivan.
Gin has been Dale’s best friend for what feels like forever, he has always been off limits because he was married so being his best friend was the best Gin could hope for until his wife left him and Gin was left to help Dale pick up the pieces......
This book has all the feels you expect in a great read, it’s also impossible to tell which author wrote what so that in itself is a tribute to great writing. This is a love story with plenty of twists and turns, trust and communication issues don’t help when it comes to Dale and Gin’s relationship but when it comes to the crunch Dale steps up and does what is needed to win back the woman he really loves.
Characters with depth and sizzling chemistry help to make this a book you won’t be able to put down. Looking forward to what’s next from this duo.

Dale Hunter was as loyal as they come his years in the service mad him that way,his wife his friends and family all seen it.Then his wife broke him cheating on him leaving him to mend a broken heart and trust issues.

Thankful for his friend Ginger who always seemed to be the one to pick up the pieces of him and pull him together.

Ginger or Gin as her friends called her knew Dales wife was a piece of work not only did she break Dale she would never leave him alone. She had already broken him but continued to disrupt his life.Gin had feelings for Dale and she knew he felt something for her, that night came and they gave into each other. Then it all went to hell the home of their friend they were watching was attacked and Dale was shot..Now Dale has no memory of that night and Trudy is back, for Gin that was it.

When Dale recovers he comes back to Gin and she wants to know what he said to her that night,he can't remember and acts like nothing is wrong. Gin is done she finds a new job and leaves. When Dale finds her he has made up his mind that she is his and will do what ever it takes to get her back. That is until Trudy comes back and now he will have to work even harder to get Gin,but she will have to wait his family needs him .

Kneel Down is the third book in the Nailed Down series by Chelle Bliss and Eden Butler. It's the first one I read and I have to say that sometimes I was feeling like I missed some parts of Gin and Dale's story. In my opinion, this book wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. I didn't like that Gin kissed another man so late in the book and I found that it didn't add anything to the story. It didn't even help with the relationship of the main couple. It was a backward step if you ask me. Of course, Gin was excused to a point because Dale was a little idiotic. I couldn't understand his refusal to say the dang words to Gin. In some ways, Gin deserved better. I was not very happy with the overall development of their relationship and the obstacles they had. The reason why I am giving 3 stars to the book is my dislike for some of the actions of the MCs and the lack of a romantic romance (if that makes any sense). I did not get the feeling that these two belonged together. I will not give a lower rating to the book because I was able to finish it and I wasn't frustrated when I was reading it (much).

4 1/2 stars. When these two authors team up they make magic together. This is an awesome series and Kneel Down is such a great addition to it. I love a good friends to lovers story and Dale and Gin's story is just so good. Of course they do not take the easy path to a HEA and my emotions were all over the place, but luckily they do finally get on the right path. These two have chemistry for days, but they also have some serious miscommunications that do not make things easy. I love Dale! He is such a complex man but the one thing he knows is that he does not want to lose his best friend Gin. He has much to do to make sure she knows how he really feels and how much she means to him. Gin is such a strong character, I really like her. She has no intentions of ever being with someone who cannot be honest with her and honest about his feelings.
Great characters, great story! Can't wait for Johnny's story next.

4 Stars!

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, secrets, steam, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Nailed Down (Nailed Down #1)
Tied Down (Nailed Down #2)

This is Gin and Dale's story. These two are friends but there is more to the relationship then friendship. They both know it but fight it hard. These two make it hard on themselves and make somethings hard for each other. He has a chance but let it slip by now he is determined not to wait for a chance but to make a chance in order to get her forever. Can he make her see that he is her forever and he is ready to fight for them?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

Kneel Down is book three in the Nailed Down series and to date it’s my favorite book so far. I’ve been anxiously waiting on Dale and Gin’s story and it exceeded my expectations. These friends to lovers have been dancing around each other for a while, they certainly didn’t make it easy on one another and they really put me through an emotional wringer. Dale and Gin are great characters who are so easy to love with their on point chemistry and excellent character development.

This book has the perfect combination of angst, romance and scorching sexy times with an entertaining and well written storyline. Although Kneel Down can be read as a stand-alone, I recommend reading Nailed Down and Tied Down as they are just as good and definitely worth it. I can’t wait to read Johnny’s book!!

Nailed down series💕

So, first up I need to say I haven’t read the first two books in this series, but after starting this series I quickly went and purchased them so I could know more about the other characters! Suffice to say I still got a really good feel for what was going on with a small bit of confusion in the beginning but I twigged on quickly. That said, I would recommend starting from the beginning but I ran out of time to read those two before my review was due....💔

That said I really liked this story as it was all about second chances and communicating when in a relationship and how things can be misconstrued when this doesn’t happen. Gin and Dale certainly have their work cut out for them. As most things in life that are worth it, are worth fighting for😍

Just a quick thank you to Chelle for my advanced copy for which I leave my honest review❣️I look forward to the next book in their series...no hints as to who it is😜

Oh my gosh! So let’s just start off by saying that this book is book 3 in the series and to read it in order so that you have a better understanding of the characters and what their backgrounds consist of

This story will give you all the feels and at times make you so mad because you want to see something happen and it just doesn’t.

In book 2 of the series we left off with Dale Majorly messing up, But Will Gin Forgive him?! Can she let go of things that may not have been in Dales control. Will he ever be able to give her what she wants?

You’ll have to read this book to find out! What I promise you is that you’ll love this story hopefully as much as I do!

5 stars Chelle & Eden! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

These two talented authors know how to write an incredible series. They are both talented on their own but the two of them together are a complete power house. They writing flows together effortlessly and their characters have great depth and are easy to conntect with. I loved the plot of this story and the amount of angst was perfection. I also enjoyed seeing the other characters intertwined with each book in the series and how connected they are with eachother. I can't wait for the next book to see where they plan to take us.

This is book 3 in the Nailed Down series and has to be my absolute favourite so far! I'm a sucker for a bit of angst and boy did this have it. Gin and Dale most certainly put me through the ringer along with all the emotions and I lived for every second of it.
Chelle Bliss and Eden Butler in their own right are amazing authors but together their work is phenomenal, completely flawless. I couldn't tell in any way who wrote what parts!
I'm super excited to see what's next from these two.

I loved Dale.
Navy Seal,loyal,protective and sexy.
He’s the strong silent type.
Especially after Trudy.
Gin is beautiful and strong.
She’s Dale’s best friend.
But also has loved him from afar.
With Trudy gone she thinks now is their chance.
Their friends relationship is really solid.
Both know the other like the back of their hand.
But when it came the love part of their relationship they sucked.
Their lack of communication drove me crazy.
Their attraction for one another is so palpable.
And can be felt sizzling off the pages.
They are hot together but also a hot mess.
I enjoyed reading Dale and Gin’s story and seeing them finally overcome the obstacles they put in their own way and the outside forces working against them.
