Weddings are so not her thing. Unless she expects to actually get married. While Maisie's mother wants her daughter to have the perfect wedding, Maisie is more concerned about just tying the knot and living happily ever after. That turns out to be no simple thing, when dealing with her mother's expectations and perfectionism. But even all her mother's fussiness pales in comparison to the problems of her wedding day. On the plus side, unlike big sis, Maisie's groom actually shows up. On the negative side? A very unexpected guest shows up, one that no one invited and never hoped to see. In the ensuing commotion, Maisie was sure--no, it couldn't be. But she saw it with her own eyes. Clay London hovered over Coraleigh Boyle, protecting her? Weren't those two supposed to be bitter enemies? Blissful Thinking , a 35,000-word contemporary romance novella, is the seventh story in the Bourbonland Short Stories and Novellas Series, and takes place during part of White Dog (Bourbonland Short Stories and Novellas #6) and after Executive Liaisons (Bourbonland Book 4).
Jennifer Bramseth is the author of the Bourbon Springs Series and Bourbonland Series of contemporary romances, and the Devil Springs Cozy Mysteries. She is a Kentucky native and lifelong resident who lives next to a horse farm and within minutes of several bourbon distilleries.
I had the opportunity and the privilege to read an advance copy of “Blissfully Thinking” for my honest review. And as in almost every one of Ms. Bramseth other books, I start the same way. I loved it !!!!!! This author has the unique way of speaking legalese in a way that the lay person can understand (even though in this book, there is not a lot of legal things associated with this book). This book is mainly about Maisie and Cord’s wedding, as well more story regarding Clay and Coraleigh. This is another must read. In short this is a true romance novella, pure and simple. There were several times I laughed out loud - for those who had to plan there own wedding - you will understand. And yes, excitement with the actual wedding. Love where they ended up actually getting married! If you want to find out....you have to read the book.
A beautiful trip back to Bourbonland. We get to spend more time with Maisie and Cord as they prepare for their wedding. Maisie is a trooper as she lets her mother have the wedding of her dreams that her sister Miranda denied her. At the same time, we get to experience the ups and downs for Corrie and Clay as these two lovers struggle to find time together as they protect their families and the long-standing feud. These two couples make me smile and lift my spirits. Of course, there were some great twists. That is one wedding I won’t soon forget. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Blissful is a perfect title for this book! It was of course too short for my liking. I just wanted to savor this one so much. Where there was another recent story that was gloomy - this one totally made up for it. This book intermingles Maisie and Cord and Corrie and Clay - so it was just a treat to read. There was so much goodness in one little story, it melted my heart. A fantastic read. One minor complaint - the way the text conversations were formatted, they were hard to follow along with who was texting when. The back and forth. But that's my only complaint. Everything else was just, like I said, a joy to read.
I love these little shorts between the novels! It lets us catch up with our favorite characters! Weddings are such a stressful event, but add in an over the top control freak mother of the bride, and I’m amazed the Maisie was able to keep her sanity! Corrie and Clay have rolls in so many different people’s lives it’s interesting to see how they are slipping up and more people are starting to notice the shift in their relationship even while they are trying to keep up their public appearance of the family feud! I know that their book is still a little bit away, but I can’t wait till the HEA!
Blissful Thinking by Jennifer Bramseth Bourbonland Short Stories & Novellas #7
Love these snippets in the series! In this one Maisie and Cord end up married, we see some characters from previous books and how they are doing, read about delicious bourbon and treats made with the water of life, AND we catch up with Clay and Coraleigh. I am hoping that Clay and Coraleigh are finally getting a bit closer to finding their HEA. Fingers crossed on that one! I do love returning to the world this author has created!
Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.
The charm of Jennifer Bramseth is her never ending imagination. She can entice with heartache, thrill with suspense or lure into heartwarming in one book. Her captivating ability to keep readers guessing is what keeps me coming back for more. Blissful Thinking takes a walk down memory lane. Catching up with old friends. Meeting new acquaintances and examining all the intriguing possibilities waiting in the wings, makes this a MUST HAVE READ!
Blissful Thinking is a very enjoyable novella. It is a nice, quick read. The story revolves around Cord Bliton and Maisie Chaplin's wedding that will be the talk of the town for weeks. The continuing saga of Coraleigh Boyle and Clay London's secret romance is highlighted in the story too. I really liked this book and I am looking forward to the next one. Thanks to the author for the ARC.
I love all these series. I have know read all the books and Novellas. I want a happy ending for Clay and Cora. Please tell me when their story will be out? I really like the way all your story’s blend together and you write about Previous people from the books before. Your character I can’t wait for the next book in this series. When will it be out?
In this story, Maisie and Cord definitely have a wedding day to remember. But we also get more story on Cory and Clay which is always a treat. This series draws you in and has you anxiously waiting for the next book.
Another stellar story as Maisie and Cord tie the knot. Things in Bourbon Springs continue to heat up. Secrets are still being kept and new families are being formed. The author continues to weave a tale of lives intertwined by love, loss, politics and family feuds.
