Devoid

Rate this book
Darr began his journey naïve and hopeful of his power as a Spirit Summoner, wondering what his newfound magic might bring the world, unknowingly enlisting himself in an ancient war. He set out to restore the Sephirs, elemental relics that kept life in balance, but along the way he lost friends and family and almost his mind.

The Sephirs did more than balance. They imprisoned an evil from a world long passed. Feeding on the Light within all living things, the Devoid sought to be free of its prison so to make all life a part of itself, preserved in darkness. With three of the four Sephirs now restored by Darr’s hand, the Devoid’s options for escape rapidly slipped away.

But an animal is most dangerous when it is cornered. The Devoid, calculating and patient, has solidified new plans for Darr. The Devoid knows Darr is much more than a means to restore the Sephirs. Indeed, the Spirit Summoner is a focal point for the Chosen of the Light to rally around, and the Chosen are the only thing that can bring an end to the Devoid.

The Devoid waits and watches. Its most sinister plan, long dormant, will work through Darr and bring it the freedom it craves.

Over the last twenty years, I've been putting my love for fantasy down on paper. I began writing at the age of 11, but I've been telling stories long before then. With interests in writing, woodworking, parenting, comic books, movies, and video games, I always have something new to write about and to inspire myself.

My passion for wonder and love for the fantastic inspired me to write my debut novel, The Chosen of the Light. At a staggering 400,000 words, I was forced to split my novel up into three books, the first of which, "Spirit Summoner", was published in 2013, followed by "Soul Seekers" in 2015. The final book of the series, "Devoid" was published in 2019.

I live in Western Washington with my wife, Jenn, and son, Jacobi.
