The Oblivion band family is growing… Which means an island holiday is just what the doctor ordered. Assuming the forecasted tropical storm passes them by. And if Simon and Margo, Nick and Lila, and Ian and Zoe don’t throw down over the Christmas guacamole. Oh, and if Margo doesn’t go into labor. Who knew sex can push a woman into giving birth? ( almost everyone but Simon.) Add in a surprise announcement from Ian and Zoe and an unexpected arrival and this holiday will go down in the Oblivion record books as extra jolly. USA Today bestselling author Cari Quinn grew up wanting to be a singer more than anything else. When she realized she probably wouldn’t be hired as the opening act for the Foo Fighters, she stopped singing and started writing. Now she happily writes about rock stars, MMA fighters, suited heroes, bodyguards and everything in between. And she blasts her music as loud as the neighbors can stand, because hey, she’ll always be a rock star in her own head.
She's also half of the duo Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott, as well as one half of the USA Today bestselling author Taryn Quinn, who writes steamy small town romantic comedies (among other things.)
An enjoyable Christmas read. What happens when Nick and Lila, Simon and Margo, and Ian and Zoe fly out to an island where Simon and Margo have a home, for Christmas? Snarky cracks are volleyed by Simon and Nick toward Ian and he tries to let them roll off his back and knows that it's up to him as he just wants to be included as family. Then the island is hit with a hurricane and during the hurricane, something wonderful happens and they are all to witness it.
In Paradise in Oblivion, Lila and Nick, Simon and Margo and Ian and Zoe take a holiday vacation at Margo's beach house. What could be more exciting than a slightly tenuous relationship between brothers and friends and a definite baby vibe all around? Oh, and did I mention a hurricane is bearing down on the island?
This is a light-hearted short story that left me with a smile on my face. It was just perfect if you'a fan of the Oblivion series, and if you are new to these rockers, you'll get a good sense of the relationships between these characters.
A fun holiday story with plenty of rock star antics to make you smile.
Loved this novella! It was so good to read about Simon & Ian acting like brothers. Laughed at how funny Simon is with impending fatherhood. Can’t wait to get more books for this Oblivion world that I love!
It’s always a fun, lighthearted peek into the current happenings with our favorite band, Lost in Oblivion. This year’s (first) check in, Paradise in Oblivion, is even more special. The novella features several of the LiO couples along with Zoe and Ian from the authors’ Rock Revenge Trilogy.
It’s hilarious, sexy, and incredibly charming. I shed a few “d’awwwww” tears at the sweet moments, laughed out loud at all the humor and antics, and never wanted it to end. The authors hinted a mystery for one of the other band members, so hopefully something new is in the works soon.
I originally read this novella in the Christmas with a Rockstar anthology. This story takes place after Rock Redemption. Simon & Nick along with the wives and Ian & Zoe are in paradise for the holidays - palm trees, sand and a “tropical storm” (insert hurricane here). Nick is as snarky as ever, Simon is well, Simon! And poor Ian still just wants to be a part of a family.
Always love hanging out with the LIO guys. The storylines was great and I hope that Taryn & Cari continue to write novellas/stories/books of the LIO gang. I’d be sad if I couldn’t peek into there lives every once in awhile! This story is a definite winner!
This review is for Cari Quinn’s and Taryn Elliotts’s story. Paradise in Oblivion takes place after the Rock Revenge trilogy so I do recommend reading those books first to avoid spoilers. This short story is full of humor and happiness as Ian and Zoe, Simon and a very pregnant Margo, and Nick and Lila all travel to a tropical island to celebrate the holidays. I enjoyed getting to read chapters from all of the character’s POV as they all have their unique personalities and ways of viewing life. It was fun to experience all of Nick’s usual snark and sarcasm, which we didn’t see much of in the Rock Revenge trilogy. That goofball makes me laugh! Simon was entertaining in his cluelessness and panicked state of impending fatherhood while Ian was still insanely in-love with Zoe with grand plans for their future together. I love how all those hard core rocker boys have that soft spot and vulnerability towards the strong women that they love. I really enjoyed the book - it was fast paced, sweet, entertaining, and had me chuckling frequently.
I would read the Rock Revenge trilogy before reading this story because otherwise you may be confused about the new characters that are in this book and about certain events that are happening in this one. And if you love the Lost in Oblivion series then you will love this one too! We get to spend Christmas with Margo and Simon along with Nick and Lila. Plus the 2 new characters that were introduced (and I love!!). And not only do you get to spend some time with the characters that we have all already fallen in love with, we get to see a major snippet of a major change in Margo and Simon's lives! I loved this novella and absolutely loved seeing a completely different side to Simon and Margo! This one has a lot of moments that will make you laugh but there are also moments that will make you just feel happy. Loved it!
Paradise in Oblivion is the perfect holiday novella for Lost in Oblivion and Rock Revenge fans. The story centers around Simon and Margo Kagen, Ian Kagen, Zoe Manning, Nick Crandall, and Lila Crandall who go on vacation to an island to get away for the holidays. There are the usual Simon and Nick antics in addition to a very special announcement and a new character who will make readers smile. The story is funny and sexy and it will put a smile on your face as our favorite characters move on to the next phases of their lives. It's the perfect addition to the Lost in Oblivion world. I loved it!
Didn't realize that this novella had originally been released in December as part of the Christmas With a Rockstar Anthology. It is still an entertaining little snapshot into the lives of the Oblivion bandmates, along with Ian Kagan and Zoe as they spend Christmas on an island bracing for an hurricane. We get to see how they respond to each other under pressure, and to the situations that arise. It is a bumpy ride, but still somehow manages to be fun, funny, sexy and tender. In other words, not to be missed....
I read this originally in the Christmas with a Rockstar anthology. Paradise in Oblivion takes place after the Rock Revenge trilogy so it is recommended that the trilogy is read first to avoid spoilers.
Ian, Zoe, Nick, Lila, Simon, and Margo have decided to have some time away on the tropical island where Margo and Simon have a home. The group gives us their POVs as love, snark, and humour abound as a tropical storm approaches.
There are added epilogues in this release and I loved reading this just as much as I did the first time!
This is a great Christmas story that takes place after Rock Redemption. If you're not familiar with these authors, they've written some amazing rock star series. Simon and Margo invite everyone to their island getaway but only Nick and Lila and Zoe and Ian head done to celebrate. Margo's about to pop and all are surprised that they went away especially while a hurricane is heading their way. Nothing is ever smooth sailing with this rock star group but always fun and welcoming. They make you want to be a part of their family while still being sexy and charming! Check them out!
It can be read as a standalone but I feel you should read the Rock Revenge trilogy and Lost in Oblivion to know the characters and how they came to be. This story takes Simon and Margo, Nick and Lila, Ian and Zoe to Simon and Margo’s island property for the holiday. This short story is funny, sweet, full of friends, family and love with a few surprises and a storm. Thanks, Cari and Taryn for giving me some Christmas joy!!!
This humorous and sentimental story is an extended epilogue to the Rock Revenge Series. After the emotionally traumatic events featured in the third book Rock Redemption, the key couples end up vacationing on a Tropical Island together. There are sweet moments and sexy moments, some romantic moments and some snarky, hilarious moments. A must read to wrap up the Rock Revenge Series. Loved it. 5 Charming Stars
Cari and Taryn’s Lost In Oblivion series is hands down one of my top two favorite series. I will NEVER get enough of these characters. The way they wire the series makes you feeling like these characters are real people.
Paradise In Oblivion is another perfect chapter in the lives of Nick and Lila, Simon and Margo, and Ian and Zoe. There’s a couple surprises in the storyline.
Another must read from these two talented authors!
Paradise in Oblivion is a fabulous quick read and a must for fans of this series. I don’t think I’ll ever have enough of these characters. With a little drama, several surprises and lots of laughs and sexy times, not to mention some lovely poignant moments, it’s a wonderful catch up with the guys and girls of Oblivion. A perfect little snippet into the lives of some of my favourite rockstars and I loved it.
I got so caught up in this series that I read one right after another. Oblivion is such a great group of books. You can't go wrong reading them. I honestly felt like I knew each of the band members!! I am madly in love with them ALL. The authors draw you into their world and lives so seamlessly that you feel like you are living the story with them. So read the whole series you can't go wrong.ENJOY!!!
Such a lovely idea! Christmas on an island with close friends and family!
A couple of unexpected events take place but that is not unusual for the Oblivion families :) a lovely glimpse of Margo & Simon, Lila & Nick and the newest family couple, Zoe and Ian on holiday and learning to be family.
I'm looking forward to reading more of the stories over this Christmas.
I can’t get enough of these Rockers. I’m so invested in them I feel like I know them personally and I’m part of their inner circle! This short story was everything I needed. Ian is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters so anytime he’s included I’m happy! Such a great quick read, it was so nice to catch up with my friends!
A quick fun read with our favorite Rock Stars!! I read the short story "Paradise In Oblivion" by these authors and loved it! It's great to be able to "keep in touch" with the familiar characters we all love. Simon & Margo Kagan never follow the normal path. Add in a few family members and you can bet it will be fun, sexy time.
I loved catching up with Ian and Zoe after the end of their story as well as with Margo, Simon, Nick and Lila. This was a quick read that was a perfect holiday catch up for all of the couples involved and it also tied up some loose ends from Rock Redemption. I had a hard time putting this down once I started reading this book.
A great holiday read with some of my favorite Oblivion characters. Only Simon would plan a holiday vacation with his pregnant wife & friends in a tropical island during a storm. I loved getting more of this group especially Simon & Margo as they finally meet their daughter surrounded by their band family.
Wild Christmas with Simon, Margo, Nick, Lila, Ian and Zoe. During their Christmas at Margo's parents island resort the three happy couples brave a storm get engaged and a surprise no one was expecting. This story like a epilogue to Rock Redeption. Simon and Ian get in some brotherly bonding while Nick warms up to Ian. Lots of laughter and family bonding. Great Christmas story!
Babies, babies and more babies! The Oblivion crew has been domesticated and blessed with babies! Lila, Nick, Jazz, Gray, Margo, Simon, Zoey, Ian and the rest of the group have baby fever! This was a fun book to read to just catch up on what was going on with the Oblivion group. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Totally recommend!
Love this series can’t wait to start the next. I have laughed, cried and laughed some more. Simon andNick really do play off each other, you never know what’s coming out of there mouth’s. I can’t believe Simon is a daddy. The we have Jazz finding a family member maybe can’t wait to find out what happens there.
Absolutely loved it and you girls nailed this one. I really couldn’t stop laughing out VERY loudly at Simon and Nicky in the jewellery store. Hysterically funny and then the labour.. just too hysterical but equally balanced out all the heavy angst and horror of the last year. Well done and I love Lila. She’s my heroine for putting up with all she does.
Loved it! I laughed out loud during this book most of the way through it. Margo & Simon meet their sweet baby during a hurricane no less & we learn one more is on the way. We also get a peek at Jazz in the ending & her learning something of her past. Nick & Lila definitely want to try for another baby. Definitely recommend.
Though short, this was the perfect way to semi wrap up the series. Simon and Margo at a perfect location when she goes into labor, Ian and Zoe taking a huge happy step in their relationship. I loved it and I hope there is more to come with this cast of characters!
Really enjoyed this sweet, funny epilogue to the Rock Revenge series. After the roller coaster ride of the Rock Revenge trilogy this was wonderful look into a few of the Oblivion couples in Margo and Simon's favorite getaway spot.
More Oblivion, can I get a hell yeah!!!! The gang gets back together again and does not disappoint! TRe shenanigans, the witty banter, the sexiness to the max. I love that we get more Jazz and Gray and definitely My favorite couple Nick and Lila!
Another fun "rockin" book about the awesome Oblivion rockers! They come together for a holiday vacation. It's catch up time to see what the band is up to. I was all in and captivated by another must read by my favorite authors.
