Undaunted

Rate this book
An impending ecological disaster on a planetary scale. A shady businessman. A moth-balled space-craft. A novice crew. A 'Hail Mary' mission. What could possibly go wrong? Following a random encounter scientists finally prove that solar storms are stripping the Earth of air and water. The seas are retreating and the surface band of breathable air is contracting. The polar ice-caps will soon be gone and many species will be lost. The governments of the world lock down the global economy and start making plans to relocate the population beneath the surface. A businessman looking to make a quick profit manipulates the global space agency into authorising an unlikely mission using a hastily re-commissioned space-craft and an inexperienced and dysfunctional crew. Against all odds the ship launches but soon deceit and rising pressures and tensions begin to take their toll. Soon the mission rests on a knife-edge, but is it destined to succeed or is it doomed to fail? 'Undaunted' offers a gripping and sometimes brutal vision of the near-future, where a desperate sequence of events and coincidences conspire to irresistibly propel the reader and the unlikely crew together towards that one pivotal 'do or die' moment. Share the optimism of launch. Experience the frustration of failure and euphoria of success. Laugh as bonds are made and cry as relationships are broken. Despair when all hope is lost. Can a fragmented crew become a team? Would you sacrifice everything for a friend? Download and read the "Undaunted" today, it may change how you feel about tomorrow.

About the author

PHILIP DEEMING

3 books1 follower
Born in the mid nineteen sixties in the Black Country, the industrial heart of the United Kingdom, Phil Deeming had three childhood ambitions: become a policeman (check), become an arther (because he couldn't spell author) (arguably, check) and to become a spaceman (now frankly unlikely). He works as an IT professional specialising in Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing and has been married for over thirty-five years. He has one grown up and disapproving child.

Really enjoyed this! Made me laugh, made me cry. Not necessarily my usual genre but really enjoyed and would recommend. 👍
