Being undercover had never made me so heated.

I knew Rhett could take care of himself.

After all, he’s hotter than hell and a shifter himself.

But he’s my partner and when his wife divorces him while undercover, I know something’s up.
And I intend to find out what—even if that means risking everything to do it.

I couldn’t have counted on his devotion to me or the risk it would put us both under when he came searching for answers of his own.

In the end, it will be a matter of who’s more important to my sexy, heartbroken partner—his ex or his mate.

This box set includes:
Rookie Shift
Undercover Shift
Stolen Shift

Great!!!

I loved this series. There has to be more; tell me this is not the end. I hope at least another book will be added to this series to really tie all the main characters together and show how precinct 22 is doing.

There are four books in this series. Here is a story of each one.

Book 1. ROOKIE SHIFT - Melissa has been on the run all her life and never knew why. Her mother Lisa Stark constantly moved them since she was a baby. She finally found out it was because her father Paul Stark kept finding them and her mother was afraid of him. She never talked about him either. Now in her 20's she has applied and made it to be a Rookie Cop. Her mother passed away from Cancer and since she always kept her from danger she doesn't think she would approve of her choice now. Her best friend Cara is taking her out to the bar Portia for a last minute freedom as Melissa starts work tomorrow. While they are drinking a gun shot was fired. As she will be a cop and didn't want that to show up on her record she left and Cara stayed.
Detective August Silas was assigned to the bar Portia were the gunshot was. He looked at the security tapes and saw two women on there. He needs to find them. So Melissa the rookie is assigned to Detective Silas as her T.O. (training officer). After a day with her August's bear likes her and wants to protect her. That's the beginning of the relationship of August and Melissa. There is action, blackmail, telephone hacking and so much more. Plus who is Paul Stark??

BOOK 2. UNDERCOVER SHIFT - Talk about a complete change. Rhett Lewis a bear shifter and cop has been pinning away for his cop wife whose has been undercover for two years in a mafia family. Mia has filed for an internet divorce from him. She has never contacted him and she is so deep in the mafia family that she has been dating Theo who is Victor Susi youngest son. Rhett's partner is Charlotte who is also a bear shifter and who has always loved him and never liked Mia. Rhett has never looked at Charlotte has anything other than a partner and best friend. His bear knows that she is actually his mate, but his was in love with Mia a human. August and Melissa from the first story made an appearance at the end of this story. Something big is happening in the bear shifter world possibly war coming?

Book 3. STOLEN SHIFT - Malcom Barnes who is a bear shifter and his human girlfriend Brynn Alexander is on a vacation in Belize when they are attacked by four men who are also lycans. They take Brynn and Mal spends two weeks trying to find her and the traffickers who took her before returning home to Chicago. Mal had just received his gold badge making him a Member of the CPD Narcotics Task Force. Now 5 years later he is working in the SVU (Special Victims Unit) taking down traffickers. The one they have on trial is Christensen. Mal finally finds Brynn his mate and that's a different story that merges together with the trial.

BOOK 4. LAST SHIFT - The Chicago Police Department #22 is being torn apart. Ever since Rand Simon separated the bear police from the human police things have been boiling over. In amongst this is Luke Ressling trying to make his starting relationship with Lily Brenner work. He met Lily while they were hostages during a bank robbery. Luke is a beat cop at the #22 CPD studying to be a lawyer and Lily is an on line teacher. You meet and hear about Paul Stark and his woman Stella LaPierre. Also Luke's father Stephen is a mob boss trying to blackmail Luke and threaten Lily. This does have a happy and satisfying conclusion.

*** Reviewing UNDERCOVER SHIFT (BOOK 2) ***
Mia, an undercover cop for two years now under the name of Stephanie Rizzo, was roughly grabbed by Big Earl and Carmen and driven to a country club where something -- she wasn’t sure what -- was supposed to happen. Would Victor have her killed there? Was her cover blown? The maître d’ who greeted her at the door had a big smile and led them to the dining room. When she saw Theo Susi, her “boyfriend” and the don’s son, she was alarmed. She was in jeans and a sweaty tank top, while he was dressed in a tux and surrounded by his family. Keeping things tense a moment longer, he explained he needed the theatrics so she wouldn’t suspect anything – as he got to one knee and proposed to her! Without waiting for her ‘yes’, he pulled out a ring and put it on her finger. Theo’s mother glared at her and demanded she hear her answer to show she actually accepted his proposal. But even then, she glared. Mia felt faint. They would have to pull her out of here quickly. She was in way too deep. Or did she really want to leave?

Detective Rhett Lewis’ partner, Charlotte Pinkerton, banged hard on his door. When she insisted he let her in, she was disgusted at the squalor he had been living in for the past two weeks. She told him to get a shower while she cleaned up the mess. Then they were going out to eat and drink, whether he liked it or not. The time for mourning was over, she said. He had two weeks to ignore her emails and phone calls. Now he was going to get out of this place. She tried to talk to him, but he didn’t want to discuss it. But once in her car, she started again. Mia had filed for divorce online, never contacting him personally. It was cold. Charlotte took him to a shifter bar, hoping to get him snapped out of his funk.

Sergeant Kramer called Charlotte into his office. An Intelligence officer, Sergeant Kelly, had an undercover assignment for her. They needed someone to go in and find out if Mia had flipped or if she was still working for the police since so little important information was coming in now. Charlotte thought it was a suicide mission, but if she said no, Kelly said they would send Rhett in to spy on his ex-wife. Charlotte knew they were jerking her around, but she couldn’t let Rhett face that woman again. It would destroy him. So she agreed to do it. Was this a death sentence for Charlotte? What would Rhett do when he found out, especially when he realized that Charlotte was his true mate from the start?

This was a good book, continuing the “Bears in Blue” series. The story line had good pacing, the tension keeping the reader thoroughly involved as it played out. The main characters were well depicted as they each showed their personality through their actions. Don’t miss this exciting story – so many possibilities are waiting to surprise you!

i read this box set as part of an arc program. This is the series about a group of bear shifters that work in the Chicago police department. I read the prequel of this series and learned about the group of bear shifters that were criminals led by Paul Stark. In that story, Paul's leader abandoned the group and Paul took over, while looking for his daughter who his ex-wife took and was in hiding from him. In the first book in this set, Paul's daughter is now a rookie police officer in the Chicago police dept. and she meets her training officer Det. August Silas, who is her mate. Melissa witnessed a crime and now she is in danger. In the next book, Rhett is another police officer who was married to another cop, but she was undercover and divorced him when she got too involved with the man she was investigating. Rhett didn't take the divorce well and his current partner was assigned to track his ex-wife to see if she was too far gone. Rhett wanted to find his partner Charlotte and stop her from going undercover and he realized she was his fated mate. In the third book, Malcolm was a cop and in love with Brynn, and while they were on vacation, Brynn was kidnapped. Malcolm searched for her for five years thinking she was sold. When Malcolm focused on bringing down the people responsible, he learned Brynn was alive, but had no memories of anything. In the last book, Luke was a beat cop and the son of a criminal boss. Luke kept his distance from his father and when he was in a bank one day, it was robbed. Luke met Lily and instantly wanted to protect her.The robbers were bears and Luke knew he had to act to keep Lily safe, but when she saw him shift into a bear, she pretended she couldn't remember anything. Luke knew she remembered and he wanted to keep her safe. Throughout all four books, Paul and his criminal group are planning something against the police and Luke begins to piece together what they are planning. With the help of the fellow officers, they plan to stop the criminals and protect everyone. I liked this series. I liked the group of bears that wanted to protect everyone and how they found their mates. Good series.

Rookie Shift
The prologue book left me wary of what this one would be like. I’m grateful to report that this is worlds different. Though, I will give that prologue book credit for giving me some necessary background information going into this. I like Melissa. She’s spunky and independent. However, that independence sometimes gets her in trouble because he wont always ask for the help she needs. August is adorable; a big growly teddy bear with a heart of marshmallow. I’m very interested to see how the rest of their story plays out.
Undercover Shift
This was a good engaging read. I was a little thrown off by the switch in main characters from the previous book, but August and Melissa make a cameo appearance at the end. Rhett and Char were absolutely crazy-making to me. They’ve been denying their feelings for one another for as long as they’ve known each other. And all of that unrequited chemistry pretty much blows up in their faces in this book. The groundwork is also set in place for a much larger plot that appears to be spanning the series.
Stolen shift
I loved the connection between Brynn and Mal. I was touched by how Mal continued to believe in the face of overwhelming odds against that someday Brynn would be home again. There’s lots of good action and intrigue in this story, but the continuity errors kept jarring me out. They prevented me from enjoying it the way I wanted to. Especially bad was miss-naming the villain after the hero of the previous book. That really sticks out in a box set where it’s expected that one book will be read immediately after the last.
Last shift
Luke is a bear with a dream and a complicated family situation that’s screwing it up. Lily’s the right woman in the wrong place. Now the pair of them need to stop the corruption and prevent a war. This was a good way to end the series; lots of intrigue and unexpected plot twists. Luke and Lily make a pretty cute couple. I was also glad to see all the names had been returned to the correct characters.

Rookie Shift
We have Melissa that has been running from her father since she was born. No her mother has passed away and she has just gotten her degree to be a police officer. August is her TO, but it seems like there is something more going on between them. What is going to happen? Can she handle being a police officer? What about her past? Will August accept it? Will she find the truth out about herself? What about her father, who is he? Why was her mother always running from him?

Undercover Shift
Short Read, with a little mystery. Charlotte and Rhett are partners and Mia is Rhett’s Wife undercover. Things are strange with Mia and they want to know why? Rhett is in a rut from Mia, can Charlotte get him out of it? Now she is being asked to go undercover, can she do it? What will Rhett do if he finds out? Why can’t Rhett look at Charlotte the way Charlotte looks at him?

Stolen Shift
Mal and Brynn is on a get away, when attacked and Brynn was taken. Mal has been looking for her, when he is on a big case and told to take a leave for a few days. He is approached by someone that wants something from him in exchange for Brynn. What will he do? What will Brynn be like after 5 years? What will happen with the case.

Last Shift
I think this was the best one. We have a lot of suspense and not sure what will happen. Lily is human and is running her self ragged by her friends wedding. Luke is a police officer going for his bar license. One day there is a robbery and he is one of the hostages when he sees Lily and tries to save her. What will happen when the robbers take them? What will happen when Lily finds out what he is ? Can he save himself and her? Will she accept him as he is? Will he be able to protect Lily from other forces?

I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
Rookie Shift Book 1: There is some answers but not all. The ending leaves it open for a lot more. Melissa is a cop so you know that there will be danger from that lone. Of course August is her OT. I like it that there are bears on the police force. Don't you? Excellent story can't wait to see what happens next and see if her father comes back to get her.
Undercover Shift Book 2: I don't understand. Why would a Bear marry someone who he has not told them about being a Bear and then divorce her a few years later? Was it one of those that one liked her and the other half didn't? Crazy. Then there is Charlotte. She has been with Rhett since they were children and a partner for the last seven years as a cop. Now all of a sudden she is not there. Very different story but it has a lot of meat to it. Exciting and the danger of undercover work is there. A very good story.
Stolen Shift Book 3: These stories in this series are all interwoven. They pop up at the strangest times. It does make for a very interesting story. This one is no different, about a woman, human who was kidnapped 5 year before. It's Mel's mate she wound up with amnesia and staying with some unsavory people. Boy I tell you if I had to go through the stuff that Mel goes through I would be in a nut house. So much going on but there is excitement, danger and some of it is the police work that Mel does. Very intense story and very good too.
Bears in Blue Book 4: That was very good. The perfect ending to the series. Lily and Luke are perfect together also. I loved it.

Follow the bear shifter officers of the 22 division of the Chicago Police Dept. Each book follows a different couple fighting the good fight and trying to prevent a corrupt faction trying to take over the station. First Shift begins with August and Melissa, who doesn't even know she's a shifter or anything about her father other than he is dangerous. Next up is Rhett and Charlotte in Undercover Shift. They've been partners for years and she has loved him the whole time. She stood by him when his wife, also a cop undercover, filed for divorce. They will have to fight to come out of this operation alive. I was not impressed with Stolen Shift, Mal and Brynn's story. Five years after she was kidnapped, Mal is still searching for her. When he finds her, they both make some very bad (selfish) decisions that endanger a lot of people. The threat to the 22 is becoming apparent and a lot of bears are running instead of fighting against it. Luke and Lily finish the set in Last shift. The final battle over territory is finally at hand and Luke, with Lily's help, wants to save the station and all the bears involved. This is an action-packed, thrilling romance. If you like shifters and/or cops you will be sure to love this one. I requested an advanced reader copy from Booksprout and am under no obligation to leave this review.

3.5 stars

Rookie Shift - 3 stars
It was an okay book for the start of the series, but left a lot of unanswered questions. I really recommend reading First Shift before this story as it builds up the background that I found missing in the actual story.

Undercover Shift - 2 stars
I just didn't like this story. I found it disjointed and more confusing that anything.

Stolen Shift - 2 stars
Again, I found this story just off. I think really it was the background of this story that helped setup some of the plot for the last story, but I didn't really like the MCs. I can't say I felt a connection or romance between them.

Last Shift - 4 stars
This was my favorite story of the whole collection. It wraps up the plot that has been told through the previous books and adds a bit more. I really liked both the MCs and the plot had a good flow to it. There was a satisfying ending (though I wouldn't mind seeing a few years down the road).

A really good shifter romance series.💞🐻💖💞

This series is really good and I enjoyed getting to know most of the characters... not all, mind you because without a protagonist it's just not as good when the couple finally gets together.😉😊

As an example, I've chosen to post the review for Undercover Shift.

Okay... can I start out by saying how much I wanted to slap the character Mia in this book? Mia is a police officer who is married to Rhett, a bear shifter and also a police officer. But Mia has decided she likes her undercover life better than her life with Rhett and files for divorce. When Rhett realizes that she really wants out, he grants it. Enter Charlotte, his partner and best friend, who is also a bear shifter and just happens to be his mate too.😍

This story will take you through some twists and turns but it all ends with a happily ever after... eventually.😉💕💗🔥💕

This was an okay book series. 1 book lead to the next but the main characters changed. The previous characters popped up occasionally but were not the central focus of the stories. Book 3 confused me because at the end of book 2, Rand was taking charge and Rhett was the "hero" of the book, but end up Rhett is in charge and the bad guy. Book 4, it goes back to show Rand in charge so I'm still confused about it all.

I consider each book had an ending, for sure, not an HEA ending, but I'm not even sure if each had a HFN ending except for the last book, which to me had a HFN ending.

All in all, an okay read...left me with lots of unanswered questions.

A nice collection of bear shifter stories

Bears in Blue is a nice collection of intertwined bear shifter stories. The overall story arc of conflicting factions continues throughout each one, but in the individual stories there is some confusion on the underlying construction. I liked the characters and the world Mia Wolf created. This author has a lot of potential of she can overcome that confusion aspect by maintaining the consistency of her supporting stories to the overall plot.

WARNING 18+ Paranormal Bear Shifters
This book set has the following books from the "Bears In Blue" series in it: Book 1 Rookie Shift, Book 2 Undercover Shift, Book 3 Stolen Shift and Book 4 Last Shift
They are bears that work for the Chicago Police
All of these books can be read as standalone and they all have a HEA but takes awhile to get there as they try to find out who to trust and not trust in at their station.

It also has the prequel "Fallon's Mate" from the "Shifters Forsaken" series in it
This is a bear shifter paranormal romance

I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book

The series links the bear shifters in a police district so they follow in order. The prequel is not included in the boxset and is worth reading in advance. The story moves through the various shifters meeting their mates while in the background there is a bigger story unfolding of history and revenge. I think my favourite was Undercover Shift. Each story was quite different and the characters were quite individual. A thoroughly enjoyable read!

Mia did a really good job on this boxset and everything was moving along beautifully in the story until Stolen Shift when Rhett Lewis and Rand Simon were mixed up. I enjoyed the reappearance of August and Melissa in Last Shift when everything finally came to a head. Poor Lily didn't know what she was getting into when she walked into that bank that day. I loved the ultimate reveal of the puppet master and who finally took him down.

This is definitely a different type of shifter series. The whole series is about a group/precinct of cops in Chicago. They also happen to be bear shifters. Each book is a continuation of the one before so I suggest reading in order. The cops are a mix of men and women so expect some tough females as well. Quite a few twists with tons of detective work. Each book does center around one couple and there are always new and old problems popping up. Plenty of action and romance for any paranormal romance reader.

Loved this set of reads. It grabbed me right away and kept me. It is exciting, suspenseful, dramatic, very emotional, surprising and a lot of twists and turns. She was married to him and went undercover. That is the last he hears from her until she files for divorce. He gets another work partner who eventually pulls him out of the gutter. A lot more happens. Read the blurb and the book. I highly recommend it. I voluntarily review a copy for booksprout.

Review

Well let's start on the positive side of things this series was well written, their was a good mix of action, romance, steamy sex. But and you knew that was coming in an age where all of our officials police, government, military and etc. Are so disrespected this series really did a number on that idea the police were horrible and dishonest, government was corrupt, it just played into every thing that's wrong with the world. I'm not sure I liked the stereo typing.

Exciting

Mia Taylor writes exciting shifter romances. There are always the important elements needed to entertain a PNR fan. This series is another exciting set of stories with admirable shape shifting heroes, adversaries who out can’t wait to see lose, a feisty love interest and lots of good old fashion love scenes with a hint of steam. I really enjoyed The Bears in Blue.

This is a box set that includes: Rookie Shift Undercover Shift Stolen Shift Last Shift. Each book had its own couple but the plot was continued through the book. These books took place in Chicago, Illinois. I think the couple from book 1 and the couple from book two are my favorite out of the books.

Reading books with towns in them that I am very familiar with, since its right by me, is amazing. This series blends so well together. Each having a great plot and all within the same long standing issue. It flowed from one to the next leaving no wondering. I really enjoyed them.

A bank robbery starts it all!

All Lily wanted to do was use the ATM, and the next thing she knows she is in the middle of a bank robbery. She was lucky a hot cop happened to be right there to protect her. This story is quite a romp and a a mix of good cops, crooks and scheming criminals. Fun read!
