Before buying a book for the AWS Solutions Architect Associate exam, make sure it is for the same version as the exam you are taking. In this case, it is both. Kind of. This book is for the SAA-C01 which doesn't exist anymore. The author added two online practice exams for the SAA-C02 so it can be used for both. While this is certainly helpful, it is a bit awkward because the emphasis of the two exams isn't quite the sam.e
I was aware of the book was for the older exam when buying the book. I bought it anyway because I like learning from paper books. The questions were great for reinforcing the material. Some chapters have a lot of questions (over 300 in chapter 1) because the chapters map to objectives and there are only five objectives. That wasn't a problem though as I did them in sets of 50.
I was not aware that there were two online exams for the version of the test I was taking until after the exam when I went to write the review. Oh well. I still passed. And the book definitely helped reinforce concepts I needed to know.
I would have liked if the author randomized the questions more though. Getting a dozen questions all on the same topic in a row gets old fast.
