Loved this book. As an aspiring Service Dog trainer, I found it incredibly helpful in laying out all the basics of owning, training and equipping service dogs and their owners.

There was obviously a lot in here that I already knew, but there was plenty that I didn't, and plenty of things that were expanded on. It lays out things like types of service dogs, what they do and how they do it, it talks about the pros and cons of breeder's puppies vs rescue puppies, the pros and cons of certain purebreds, how to evaluate a potential SD, how to care for them, prepare for an emergency, and finally, the nitty gritty of how to train service tasks.

I recommend this book for anyone who is wanting to handle a service dog or professionally train them. Whether you're a complete beginner, or an experienced handler, there's definitely something you can take away from this.

looking at several service dog books, picking this up was a good choice. it is pretty complete as a beginners guide and had unique things that i haven’t found before in training my service dog and the media i have consumed for it. the seasonal lists and methods to building training resonated with me. i will refer to this more than a few times.

I liked that the advice is very specific like which exact supplements to take,which exact commands to learn and which cd’s to use for sounds
I also loved that they provided plenty of advice on aeroplane travel with your pet as that was one thing I was concerned about .

Really great book. I wish it was more detailed in the training and ages to begin. I have a 3 month old puppy I am beginning to train and the book doesn’t give a decent timeline on training
