Crime happens in a moment and so do the stories in the Fast Crimes collection. These short mysteries start in the moment and build to a climax in a snap. Murders are plotted and carried out. Heists are planned and foiled. Investigators hunt and apprehend criminals. And it all happens in a handful of pages . It’s a smash and grab experience…so strap in.

This is a novel of several short stories by one of my most favorite authors. They are fast-moving crime stories full of action from murders to heists. Investigations and capturing the criminals highlight these smash and grab short stories. I especially loved "The Polite Intruder" which stars two dachshunds and a sweet old lady. So buckle up and enjoy the rides. Very well written and each story is totally captivating. Highly recommended.
A few of the stories are reminiscent of the old Twilight Zone. I can almost hear Rod Serling talking about traveling through "another dimension".. And then the iconic theme.
Sometimes a short story, told well, is more fulfilling than a long story that drags on. I enjoyed Fast Crimes very much. Simon Wood remains one of my favorite authors.
