Northstar Angels #4

Forgotten Angel

Rate this book
Shane McGuire and Becky Epperson have a history. They might have had much more, but instead, he broke her heart. Now they’re both back in Northstar, and he’ll do everything he can to win her back.

Becky has been away from home far too long, and even the knowledge that Shane is moving home can’t dim her joy at being back amongst the people and she loves. She can find a way to get along with him… right? Time has dulled the heartbreak, and to be perfectly honest, she’s tired of pretending she doesn’t still love him. That doesn’t mean she’s going to give him a second chance, and as long as she remembers why she shouldn’t, everything should be just fine.

The friendship and passion that brought them together in the first place is as irresistible as ever, but Shane has his work cut out for him. It’s going to take much more than a simple apology to convince Becky to forgive him. He doesn't care. The best things in life rarely come easy, and she’s the only woman for him. All he needs is the opportunity to show her he’ll never hurt her again… but what if she won’t give him one?

Suzie O'Connell grew up in a small town on the Kitsap Peninsula in Western Washington, but has called the mountains and valleys of Western Montana home for well over a decade. She has been writing stories since she was old enough to know how (the first she can recall was penciled in the second grade, about the mouse who went to the sea) and completed her first novel, Summer Angel, before she graduated from high school. After high school, tired of the endless rain, she attended college at the University of Montana-Western and graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and Writing. She is currently working on a Masters of Education and teaches high school English.

Suzie considers herself to be a rather quirky individual with ecclectic tastes in music, movies and books. She listens to just about anything, including pop, rock, country and techno and her favorite movies range from Grumpy Old Men to Lord of the Rings to Moulin Rouge to Pirates of the Caribbean. When it comes to reading, she prefers fantasy, science fiction, romance and literary fiction.

She firmly believes it's healthy to laugh at yourself, that best friends are worth far more than their weight in gold, and that home truly is where the heart is.

When she isn't writing, teaching or studying, Suzie enjoys playing in the mountains with her husband Mark, their daughter Maddie and their energetic golden retriever Reilly. She is also a hobby photographer, specializing in landscapes.

Suzie did it again! What another awesome read. I just love how she relates the story and you feel like you are part of it. I especially did at Chapter 10, what a shocking yet pleasant surprise. I love the way Shane and Becky overcome their past, forgive each other and move on. I am still undecided on which book I like best, as they are all great! Thank you Suzie for such great writing!

Couldn't wait for this book

Each book leaves me waiting for the next. I am sure the author was sick of my emails asking when is it being released. Just like the other three books I was not disappointed and now will be waiting for the next release. Love the series.

Nothing really wrong with it but for some reason it just didn't grab my attention enough.

I normally read these sorts of books quite quickly but Forgotten Angel took me quite some time to actually finish.

A good story, just missing a certain something for me.

The fourth book in the Northstar Angels series. What can I say about an author who can mess with your imagination in such a way that you feel that you know Northstar personally, the place, the people, the events. An amazing set of books that I couldn't recommend highly enough. If you want a place to go but can't get there physically (like me) then this series will help you to be somewhere else and make you believe that you've really been there. Tremendous pieces of literature that I've read over and over again. Fantastic! Well done, Suzie.

Cowboys and that life style is not my thing but it would’t have been a handicap if the story had trapped me. But sadly it had not.
Slow-paced, predictable and boring. I never cared for this couple and their presumedly angsty past. Maybe my expectations on angst are terribly high because this book never full filled them.

This is it for me and this series. I’m not interested enough to try another book but it seems that I’m in the minority here so if you like cowboys and not too heavy drama, you’ll probably enjoy this book and the series.

Becky had a boyfriend that ignore her need to spend time with family.
Hurt that Shane is there to welcome the new baby of Luke and Ryan, and not her. If she was would she even fit in anymore . Telling Justin she was going, and if he didn’t she was not coming back. Six years was it really gone. What would await here at home, wouldn’t be easy. Could ?Shane and her get pass the hurt from high school. Good series

Shane and Becky

High school sweethearts after 9 years Shane was determined to win Becky back. Becky had avoided him since the day he broke them up. But now they are both back in Northstar. Hopefully Shane can convince her that he can be trusted.
Ms O'Connell is a masterful story teller. She weaves you into her story making you really care what happens to the star characters.

Love on and for a ranch

I’m not sure ranch life would ever be for me, but I felt as if I knew this ranch. To be happy, you have to be where you are happy. For Becky, that was ranching and being home facing the past as she moved forward. It was the same for Shane. Mistakes may have set their life on an unwanted path, but love brought their path back together.

I was pleasantly surprised by this free read. The story is well written, the emotions deep, but not overly angst ridden, and the characters likable. I would however, recommend that you read the series in order or you'll occasionally be a little lost, as I was.
My first read by this author, but not my last.

Second Chances

Love, true love affords one a second chance and trusting a discerning heart allows it to manifest. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger and wiser. Shane, Becky, Luke and Ryan show us how true love weather's the storms of life and patience and time with effort heals. This is a story worth reading and a year worth shedding.

Too many extraneous characters that were difficult to keep straight. I was also never able to completely piece together the order and details of events that occurred in HS that led to the conflict. Maybe would have been ok if I had read the earlier books it would have been better.

As always, I truly enjoyed this book. I love the sense of belonging as I see what’s happened to all the characters from previous books in the series as the current hero & heroine find their happy ever after.

I apparently came in the middle of a series, but it stood alone well and I enjoyed the story of the two former love interests getting back together on the family-owned dude ranch.

Becky’s boyfriend who she’s been dating for six years always comes up with excuses not to visit her family. She moved with Justin to Jackson Hole to take a job in his family’s ranch. Though she refused to move in with him and instead rented a tiny, one-bedroom cottage nearby.
Her cousin Luke called to inform her that her wife just had a baby girl. And she wants to go visit the family. She wants

Great Book

The "Northstar Angels" books are great books, each one involving a different couple from "North star, Montana." The stories intertwine so that the couples are all involved in each book with a different couple being the main characters in the different books. They definitely have good characters and a great plot but they are light reading.
