An average read. There was nothing particularly good or bad, the plot moved along but without any big surprises, and the low chemistry romance was just sort of there. I didn't care much about the characters, especially the h, but I've read worse.

If you decide to read this one, it works best as a short book to read late at night when you need something to relax and fall asleep.

The mystery storyline was okay, I was disappointed with the romance though, it was hard to tell they were together at all, I don't mind that there was no explicit content but there just wasn't much depth to that part of the story.

Skating On Thin Ice!

I liked this book but I didn’t love it. The characters were great but everything moved so fast and so much of the relationship happened off screen that I don’t know if I 100% bought it. I was more interested in possible sabotage than I was in the relationship. It was a spun sugar kind of relationship, sweet but with not much substance. They did have cute moments together though I will say, but I don’t know if there was enough there to justify the heroines decision at the end. I did find what was going on at the ranch to be intriguing and I enjoyed it but it lacked something for me. Also there was a bit with a syringe that’s never mentioned again and I failed to see the point of. It was an enjoyable enough read and passed the time. It wasn’t so terrible that I’d give it a lower rating but as a Lisa Mondello fan this was a bit of a miss for me.

This is an excellent short story. Like many on the rodeo circuit Tabby is very superstitious, and when she walks into the barn and notices that the horshoe above the door is turned upside down she gets a little worried. When she goes to her horse Tenterhook's stall there is a strange man looking at him - strange because he is dressed in a smart suit and expensive shoes, not the sort of thing you would expect to find in a barn. He introduces himself as Kasper Dobbs. Trip, the ranch owner tells her that Kas is a business man who is looking to give sponsorship for rodeo riders, and if Tenterhooks looks good she and her horse could be considered for sponsorship. She really needs that, she has to work really hard to look after her and her horse, and cannot afford to enter the larger contests. It is unusual to receive sponsorship for barrel racing, it usually goes to bull and bronc riders, the barrel riders are usually women and it is not such a high profile event.

Bad things start to happen round the ranch, but Kas stays around, and he and Tabby get to know each other better, and Tabby admits to herself that she has feelings for him. There is a big climax when we find out who is causing all the problems and why. Afterwards we get a very sweet happy ever after.

This is a gentle love story, with lots of excitement to keep up the pace of the book. Well worth reading on a lazy afternoon.

I have come to really enjoy this series written by various authors, all based on the rodeo theme and all have, if not as the main characters, as least as secondary characters, the Knight brothers. These brothers have now formed a security agency that centers around the rodeo , cowboys and the horses.
In this story, we have Tabby Swanson and Kasper Dobbs as the main characters . Tabby is a barrel racer who hopes to get a sponsor for herself and her horse, Tenterhook. Kasper is visiting family in the area. He was a rodeo champion who suffered a serious injury and has now become a hockey team owner and an investor. He takes an interest in Tabby and her horse.
Superstition surrounds the rodeo circuit and it seems that it’s causing havoc in the ranch that Tabby works.
It’s a story filled not only superstition, but also with sabotage, murder, injured animals, Knights security, and of course romance.
Will the mystery be solved? Will Tabby and Kasper get together? Or will they go their separate ways, she staying at the ranch and he back to NYC?
Another entertaining short novel that is great for summer reading . I always marvel on the talent of Ms Mondello in creating well developed characters in just a few pages.
I was gifted this copy of the book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Rodeo KNights - Sweet Montana Sky
Another Rodeo Knight romance that I truly enjoyed. Tabby Swanson is working on the Lone Creek Ranch where she is taking care of her horse name Tenterhook and is training for barrel racing at the rodeo. Although Tabby is superstition about the horseshoe that is hanging the wrong way she still presses forward on what she loves to do barrel riding. Enter into her life is Kasper Dobbs business man and former Rodeo bull rider. Crazy events start happening at the ranch and to Tabby. Kasper take a personal interest to the untimely events happening and call his friends the Knight Brothers’ to help him with information that he needs about the mysterious events. It is all about the horse that Tabby owns that is in question and its true lineage. I love how Lisa works around the mystery and love with Tabby and Kasper with a wonderful ending. If you enjoy westerns, mystery and a love story this is a book that I would recommend. I was given for ARC copy for review and I presented by honest opinion.

Sweet Montana Sky is a fabulous story and the story line is perfectly written and the characters were amazing. This was the first book I've read by Lisa Mondello and if this is anything to go by I will most definitely be reading more of her books.

Sweet Montana Sky is an interesting mystery with a surprise reveal and raison d'etre. The mysteries revolve around horseshoes. It begins with Tabby Swanson who like many on the rodeo circuit is more than a bit superstitious discovering the horseshoe over the barn is upside down "letting the luck run out". She and her horse Tenterhook live and train at Lone Creek Ranch for her specialty barrel racing. Kaspar Dobbs is a retired bull rider who had been a star while now he's just a drop dead gorgeous business man who's looking to sponsor some rodeo competitors. Soon others are embroiled in the mysteries resulting in a death several injuries. Kaspar calls on Sean Knight, a Las Vegas vet to help with part of the investigation. Meanwhile Tabby and Kaspar are figuring out their relationship. I will look for more books from this author about the rodeo.
I received an ARC copy of this book from the author. I am not obligated to write a good review, and all thoughts expressed are entirely my own.

SWEET MONTANA SKY by Lisa Mondello "Rodeo Knights" book 11
Tabby didn't let the superstition stop her, she needed a sponsor for her barrel racing. Was this new guy, he looked it, with his suit on. A commotion in the barn, a death, the horse Mad Dog running loose, and missing a shoe. Was this the cause of death, he ask's Sean, from Knight Investigation, to look into it. Kasper was in Sweet to check on his investment with breeding horses. Then another mishap, involving a horse shoe, would the chance of competeting be different now for Tabby. If one loves horses, and horse competition, this is a great story of what goes into it. The plot, with the twist of murder, and maybe romance was good. A definite winner for this series and Lisa Mondello. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

Rodeo Knights
Tabby Swanson lost her parents eight years ago. The horse her dad gave her has helped her cope with their deaths. When odd things start happening around the ranch and accidents that are of the freakish sort...she wonders if it's superstitious. After all, a horseshoe upside down is bad luck.

Kasper Dobbs is back in Sweet, Montana to check out some of his investments. He can longer ride bulls after an accident ended that, but he can still own stock in them. What he doesn't expect on his visit home is Tabby.

Romance, suspense, and rodeo cowboys and cowgirls. Another great addition to the Rodeo Knights collection.

Clean and Short Novella
I couldn't get into this book and had trouble caring about the characters, perhaps because I was distracted by how quickly Tabby got over a broken ankle and my brain was having trouble processing how the sabotage could have taken place with nobody the wiser. I was however reading this late at night and as other reviewers appear to have enjoyed it perhaps it was just me.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

It all starts with an upside down horseshoe The Knight brothers are called in to investigate the mysterious death and strange happenings surrounding Tabby Swanson after an accident took her an her horse Tenterhook out of competition.
Kasper Dobbs knows Tabby's fall was no accident and has called in the brothers to help put a stop to the troubles. He is determined to keep Tabby safe and see her compete again.
This is such a sweet love story with good characters and just enough tension and mystery to keep you turning the pages till the end.
Another winner from this author and this series!

This is book 1 of Lisa Mondello's new series Sweet Montana, it is also part of the "Rodeo Knights "
Here we have Tabby a Barrel Racer and her horse Tenterhook, all is not what it should be at the ranch, things are happening!
Kas used to be a bull rider until his accident now he is in property and investment can the two find HAE.
As with all of Lisa's books, this brilliantly written romance with intrigue, suspense, passion and heat and a little scary bit all mixed in, draws the reader in from start to finish. Highly recommend 5*+

Sweet Montana Sky

This was another great book and part of a series which I love to read. This book on love and loss was about a story if a young girl and her horse. She did barrel racing with a horse her father bought her before he was killed in a car accident. When the horse came up lame and had to be reshod, there was something going on that was very suspicious to some of the hands on the farm and after Tabby was injured at a show things got very dicey . This was a free book and this is my review in my words only. Norma Gorrill

Loving the books in the Rodeo Knights series. Will Tabby's slightly less than cordial first meeting of Kaspar ruin the possibility of him sponsoring her and Tenterhook? And is there anything to the superstition of the upside down horseshoe as things start going awry at the ranch and for Tabby? This book had romance, some humor and a mystery that I didn't solve at the beginning of the book. Highly recommend reading this book.

Loved It

Tabby received Tenderhook from her parents as a graduation present and then she lost them. She has trained him as a barrel racing horse. Levon was the man who her dad bought him from. Things have been weird on the ranch. Kasper used to ride rodeo until his bad injury. Now he helps sponsor riders and invest in stock. And know he is there to sponsor her until her horse is injured.

Sweet Montana Sky

An interesting story. Tabby was attached to her horse, as it was her father's gift to her right before both her parents were killed in an auto accident. Kaz had been a bull rider prior to his accident. Now a,successful businessman, he had come to the ranch looking to sponsor someone. Several bad situations ensue which cause serious problems. Naturally an attachment developes. I gave it 5 stars

OK, But Not My Preference

This story was ok, but it didn't exactly end up being the type of book I'll reread. It was technically clean, but there were some definitely steamy thoughts thrown around. There were also some glaring typos, from words with the wrong suffix to missing words. Another good edit would raise my rating to a four.
If you enjoy cowboy romances and don't mind a few typos, this book might be a good fit for you.

Sweet Montana Sky is a sweet short story. Nice storyline with easy flow. A touch of mystery as to the who and why. Enjoyable clean read for the evening. Didn't captive me as some of her other stories have but was definitely worth my time to read.

This was a cute story. Now I realize that it is a novella but it was missing something. It could have been so much more. I felt the chemistry between Kasper and Tabby was lacking for the most part. It also needed to be edited more. There were times when I had to re-read sentences to figure out what the heck was going on and what the author actually meant.

Sweet Montana Sky

The idea behind this story is a good one, but the writing of it is not. There are quite a few misspelled and omitted words and phrases. The writing doesn't flow smoothly. It feels as if a teenager who is just beginning to learn how to write has authored it. If this bothers you, you should not buy it.

This was a shorter story. Plot was fairly predictable, even the little twist at the end.
I didn't see much chemistry between the two main characters. Rodeos and cowboys aren't my typical read, just not my thing, but I finished it so that's as good a recommendation as any. This is a sweet g-rated cowgirl mystery, if any of that appeals to you it is worth a read.

I'm a little disappointed in this story. It wasn't bad, but not up to what I expect from Mondello. The romance aspect seemed a little lackluster, the suspense just okay, and the tragedies didn't really pull on the heart strings like one would expect. Clean editing is always appreciated but a tad more spice would have pulled it up a notch. A good story for bedtime.

First Read of This Author

I get excited when I find a wonderful author whose story is enjoyable. I loved the main characters and the strong storyline. Set In a small town, home was special and filled with caring secondary characters except for one! But you must read to discover "the who done it"

Good read

This one has danger, mystery, laughter, sadness, and romance. She's a barrel racer and he's a big city businessman, originally a bull rider. Accidents start happening and he's sure someone is behind them. Highly recommend.

This being my first reading a rodeo circuit book, it was an easy, fast paced, well written story. It was interesting with a little romance, a little mystery, and a good read. Maybe only three stars being I normally read more dark thrillers. It was a nice rainy day read.
