Silverpines #23

Wanted: Forever Family

Rate this book
When the Worthington brothers arrived in Silverpines, they were expecting wives. Miss Edie and Chet fell in love at first sight and married. Walt loves Miss Ethel, but she was too concerned about caring for the orphans at Howard House to accept him. Will they find an answer and happiness?

Clara Pierce works as Ella Grace’s housekeeper, but she longs for love and a family of her own. Unsure as to whether she has enough to offer to send for a husband, she considers leaving Silverpines as a mail-order bride to find love and happiness. Might there be someone in Silverpines who could change her mind?

Love has a way of surprising unsuspecting hearts in this sweet romance.

There's a lot happening in this book.
Miss Ethel is in love with Walt but she feels she can't marry and leave the orphan girls. Walt wants to marry Ethel, just like his brother married Miss Edie. When Katie and Benjamin (from Wanted: Carpenter #15) announce their intention to adopt the orphans, Walt sees a chance to win his bride.
Meanwhile, Clara is happy working for Ella Grace and Michael (Wanted: Innkeeper #6), but she really wants a family of her own. Ella Grace is suggesting she place an ad for a husband, but Clara is apprehensive about it.
Riley is upset when he hears Clara might move away or write for a mail order husband. They have been good friends since their school days. But is it more? Can they be honest with each other? Is romance in the air for more than 1 couple?
This is a clean, sweet romance.
I liked how a few loose ends were tied up in this story. And it was nice to have a bit of a different issue come up. No kidnappings like a bunch of the others in this series.

Wanted: Forever Family

Wow! What a great book, the story of adoption and family. Edie and Ethel twin sisters who arrived in Silverpines after travelling the Oregan trails with the wagon train had a baby with them that had lost both of her parents on a river crossing. Ella Mae was the first orphan that lived in their home for 22 years. In that time several more girls were dropped off by different people as there were no family members to take care of the children. Forever family was a striking story of love, laughter and a forever home for each of the girls. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill

Michael and Ella Grace and Riley and Clara

This is a very cute and loving short story about more of the inhabitants of Sileverpines. Michael owns the local hotel/Inn with Riley as his assistant. Both Ella Grace and Clara were orphans that had lived most of their lives in Silverpines. There are two weddings, two families that adopt several children, a blinding snowstorm and a fire in this story. I think you will enjoy the excitment, the love, new starts and happy endings.

How did I miss this series from the beginning?

Wow I really enjoyed this story, but it was more of a collage of stories that were all related. Each of the couple's were easy to relate to and pulled you right into their lives. Even the adoptions were relatable with their fears and eagerness to become a family. I can't wait to find the ones before this one and then to continue on with the ones after to see what happens next.

Nice Story!

I love series so we get to see the same characters. In this story we continue the story of how Miss Ethel and Walt find their Happy Ever After. It is evident in the earlier book when Miss Edie, Ethel's twin marries Walt's brother that Ethel and Walt will likely marry. The added dimension is all the girls in the orphanage will be adopted. It made a nice outcome for everyone. This is a great series.

Wonderful

Such a marvelous story. Enjoyed from beginning to the end. It was woven together so beautifully. Happy for Mrs. Ethel and Walt, bringing in the new century and later Clara and Riley married 4 months later in 1899? I shed a lot of happy tears. Simply loved it all.

Several adventures lead to families and happiness. Plus catching up with townsfolk make this a truly lovely story about home and love in whatever shape it takes.

There are at least two subplots in this book, but let's talk about Clara Pierce. All the other women have ordered grooms because they needed someone to run their family business whether it was the livery, newspaper, carpenter shop or hotel. But Clara is a housekeeper for Ella Grace. What does she have to offer a groom, so she thinks she wants to become a mail order bride. But that would mean leaving and could there be someone in Crede who could be her groom and create her forever family?

Great story

Chet -co owner of the book store and Miis. Edie - Ethels twin,
Riley - manager of the hotel and Clara - worked for Ella Grace
I enjoyed reading this captivating story that is well written with unforgettable and loveable characters. Though I thoroughly loved this story it's hard to say it's strictly a romance story. This is not a standalone in my opinion it was about the other characters we gotten to know in the past and their lives. All seems to have a wonderful HEA.
