David Henry Keller (1880–1966) was most often published as David H. Keller, MD, but also known by the pseudonyms Monk Smith, Matthew Smith, Amy Worth, Henry Cecil, Cecilia Henry, and Jacobus Hubelaire. He was a writer for pulp magazines in the mid-twentieth century who wrote science fiction, fantasy and horror.
Creepy short story, like a politely written 'torture porn' scenario. Used to be a 'Weird Tale' which I noticed thanks to scrolling through Lovecraft back issues. Always wondered what the story was, found it on Gutenberg press. Very pulp, which is no bad thing...and very gruesome!
This was kinda gross. I initially rated it 2 stars, because the writing was fine, but the content has left a bad taste in my mouth, and I don’t want to read it again.
🖍️ What a horrifyingly good story from the Golden Age of strange tales! The Project Gutenberg e-book version has the original illustrations, while the Kindle version does not.
