Existe una correlación íntima entre el deseo de que algo sea real y el lento descubrimiento de que lo ha sido todo el tiempo. Hay textos que instauran lo inexistente mediante el artificio del pensamiento; Agustín, en cambio, no inventa: revela. No es como muchas construcciones filosóficas que invita a creer, sino de una epifanía que obliga a reconocer. Leer esto ha sido como abrir los ojos a una verdad que siempre estuvo latente, incómoda, silenciosa… y que, por razones que apenas empiezo a entender, yo no quería mirar.
Deseo permanecer mucho tiempo en este estado de revelación, en esta paz sin nombre, en esta forma extraña de amor que no pide, no exige, solo transforma.

Es la primera vez que lo leo, me gustó mucho la relación que se ve de San Agustín con Dios, con alguien cercano y sin miedos. Después el testimonio de Agustín de su vida, que no estaba tranquilo hasta conocerlo a Dios. Y por supuesto Santa Monica, orar por quienes amamos. Finalmente, la parte filosófica me costó más. Pero disfrute leerlo, me lleno algo.

Muy denso pero algunas partes más que bonitas. Es increíble que después de tantos siglos se le pueda seguir sacando jugo hoy.
