Trevor Family Saga #1

Return to Love

Rate this book
A dramatic and romantic novel by best-selling author Anita Stansfield. Janna was scared - plain and simple. No matter how she looked at it, she knew she would never be free of Russell Clark. She couldn'€t explain it, but something inside her told her it was only a matter of time before he found her. She knew his mind. She knew his determination. And she was scared. When JannaLyn Hayne walked out of Colin Trevor'€s life to keep him from learning her terrible secret, she turned her back on true love and married Russell Clark, a man who first appeared to be the perfect husband, but whose temper threatened to destroy her life. Now in the moment of her darkest despair, she and Colin meet again. Can the love they once shared be rekindled? Turning to each other and the gospel, can they build a future after years of pain and deceit? Or will their past - and Russell'€s fury - shatter their one chance for true happiness? Anita Stansfield'€s riveting new novel is the ultimate contemporary romance, filled with passion, drama, suspense, and everlasting love.

Anita Stansfield, the LDS market's #1 best-selling romance novelist, is an imaginative and prolific writer whose romantic stories have captivated her readers.

"With sales approaching a half million, Anita Stansfield has clearly found a niche in this market," said Nicole Martin, Publicist for Covenant Communications. "Her popularity stems from her ability to empathize with and write about the issues that LDS women deal with on a daily basis."

"I always write for women like me. It's through my interaction with other women that I've found there are some personal and emotional struggles that are typical," said Anita Stansfield. "I hope my writing makes women feel better about themselves and shows them these real problems can be solved through gospel principles."

I normally don't review books, but will make an exception for this one.
There are certain types of books that I know I should stay away from, but find myself drawn to anyways, hoping it will have a happy ending. Lol.

Anita Stansfield deals with difficult topics in many of her books, and in this one she hits this out of the ball park. She nails every feeling an abused wife feels: the loneliness, the guilt, the self hatred of what she did to her son....

The character got her hero and happy ending for her and her son, but I think she moved on way to fast!!

This book might bring out a lot of negative feelings you thought you had dealt with.

This was a great book, very well written and very powerful, but after reading this it may bring up all those feelings up again. Other than that it could be a fun read if you are not a sensitive reader!!

I loved this novel. It has some abuse in it but don't let that keep you from reading it. It is a riveting hard to put down novel. I can't wait to read some more in this series. I recommend this to everyone. It definitely shows that everyone has struggles even if they are good people and do everything in their power to start over.

I truthful depiction of what it takes for a woman to leave an abusive relationship. It was difficult to read, only because too much of it is realistic and brings back harsh memories for me.

My main criticism is that this author always blurs the lines between appropriate and inappropriate behavior between a married and non-married past love interest. I think it is wrong and I'm disappointed so many publishers would consider this a great novel.

So, 3 stars for the truthfulness and bringing to light the reality of what many women go through.

Another LDS romance. I couldn't put it down so I did enjoy it but it seemed to take too long to get to the happy ending. Entertaining but... perhaps I would call it "junk food" reading- enjoyable yes, but not nutritious to the soul.

I haven't ever been exposed to abuse or known anyone who suffered as a result of it. It was so sad to see how deeply it affected JannaLyn's life! I was frustrated that she left Colin without any explaination and how they lost contact for so many years. It was interesting to see how things unfolded and I was really happy when Janna finally left her abusive husband. Always love happy endings!

I've read this book a couple times... maybe more, and I really like it. It sends a very strong message of both love and repentance, and how the two go together. It also covers what it takes to heal pain that's... well, deep. Very deep. Both the couple and God are very involved, and I like that. :) I love all the books by this author that I've read, but this one stands out as a favorite.

I love this series of books. Yea the writing is simple and yes it's a LDS romance book but they are decent books. I've read this book at least 20 times. It's a heart wrenching story. If abuse stories bother you skip this book. I shed many a tear reading this book tonight. No swearing and no sex scenes in this book.

This is one of my favorite Anita Stansfield novels. I like how she addresses real-life issues that we tend to try to ignore. In this particular book, she writes about domestic violence (where the perpetrator is a completely 'active' and 'upstanding' member of the church) and teenage pregnancy.

I gave this book 5 stars not because it's the best book out there, but it was one of the first books I didn't have to read in school that I actually liked. I bought and read it again recently and I loved the memories and feeling it brought back to me.

I like how these people were able to apply the atonement in their lives and they were able to forgive. I couldn't even imagine dealing with that kind of abuse, but I'm glad they were all able to overcome it & have a happy ending.

This book was a little cheesy and predictable but I did like it. It's jam-packed with "Norman Mormon, Peter Priesthood, and Molly Mormon" stuff, but I still was engaged in the story. It was a super quick read.

This novel is very hard for me to read being that I was once a victim for many years of Domestic Violence. I do, however love how she adds that through the atonement and our faith we can get past our walls of jericho

The Anita Stansfield books get a little too sappy here and there in my opinion, but they are definately a good fun read.

A cute, sweet, little old neighbor shared this book with me--I read the whole thing, which is embarassing. It is a soap opera.

Read this a long time ago -- skimmed over it the other day. The plot in these books also seem to be involve abuse and counseling, but it is a love story.
