Anita Stansfield, the LDS market's #1 best-selling romance novelist, is an imaginative and prolific writer whose romantic stories have captivated her readers.

"With sales approaching a half million, Anita Stansfield has clearly found a niche in this market," said Nicole Martin, Publicist for Covenant Communications. "Her popularity stems from her ability to empathize with and write about the issues that LDS women deal with on a daily basis."

"I always write for women like me. It's through my interaction with other women that I've found there are some personal and emotional struggles that are typical," said Anita Stansfield. "I hope my writing makes women feel better about themselves and shows them these real problems can be solved through gospel principles."

I feel like these first three books could have been written as one novel. They take up right where the previous novel ends. This third volume reveals some hidden secrets--both dark and wonderful. Ritcherd falls into a deep depression following the death of his sister. Helping to keep him sane falls on Garrett's shoulders. Garrett is AMAZING!! So love Patrick! I get so involved with the characters and love it when there's a happy ending.

This one was a bit darker as it deals with depression. It makes you think and appreciate more events that can bring depression on and how it can affect lives.
A lot of similarities to the other books with some new people and situations moving it forward.

Inspiration in how to view depression.

This book continues a great love story, but my favorite part is insight it on fighting depression. The character's struggle is well written and believable. How his depression affects his family is also well done.

The third book in this series, (and the hardest one to plow through) the story of Ritcherd and Kyrah Buchanan continues. Now that her two main characters are happily married, the only plot complications the author could think of was killing off Ritcherd's younger sister then having him spiral down into depression while Mr. Thayer makes weak threats about their turncoat activities in America and could arrest them at any time.
If there's one thing Ritcherd has always been good at throughout this series, it's playing the victim. Many pages are wasted detailing his ordeal.
First, Ritcherd stresses out for no reason over a non-existent relationship between his wife and brother. Next, a blocked memory to rival Elizabeth Smart. Finally, a character we all believed to be dead makes an incredible return. Just in time for Christmas. All the previous complications are worked out and it's another Festivus miracle, folks!
Like all Anita Stansfield books there is no swearing or violence or sex. The romance never goes any farther than kissing, mostly between Kyrah and Ritcherd. But Garret sneaks in a few!

This series is rather intense. I was hoping it was done but there is a fourth. It was deep and thought provoking. I was well written and the way it was written made you believe the writer had experience. True or not it was very real. Also even though you in the time period it sits well with today.

I love this series. The Buchanan's have the greatest romance story ever, and Captain Garrett has been my hero since he was introduced in the earlier book. I can’t wait to read book 4 to see if he finally is led to a woman worthy of him. This book touched on topics of depression, repressed traumatic childhood events, Down’s syndrome, and true love overcoming all, of course.

Her books are starting to all kinda sound the same it me. Maybe they have been for a while and I just haven't seen it. I am going to finish the last one in this series though, just to see what happens to the family.

Most of this series includes stuff like murder, fights at sea, going to war, and rescuing people. This book focuses more on dealing with depression, heartache, and repressed memories. The great thing is that it is still just as intense and exciting!

Beautiful story about overcoming life's challenges. Some of it was quite depressing, but that made overcoming the depression so much more meaningful. I love the characters and the way they relate to one another.

A great love story set in turn of the century England, and later America. The author really paints a wonderful picture of the characters and their lives and relationships. Liked it a lot.

Read it. You will learn to love all the characters even though they are so horribly cheesy and quite frankly unrealistic!
