An absolutely delightful collection of ten short stories by an author whose 'Paradise Hotel' is the only erotic novel I can say is charming and made me laugh. It is easy to understand why Mr. Slater was included in the UK Gay Times anthology 'New Century New Writing' as an author worth watching. The story in 'New Century New Writing' 'The Warm Flow Beneath His Skin' is a reworked and longer version of the story 'Love' in this collection.

I loved this collection and I am trying to purchase Peter Slater's 'Maestro' - I already own and have sung the praises of his wonderfully funny erotic novel Paradise Hotel. Unfortunately there have been no new works since 2000 (Although there are many books listed on Goodreads as 'by' Peter Slater they are all by other Slaters. The three books I have listed are the only ones by 'my' Peter Slater.

Aside from being first class stories what else can I say? Nothing, except give them a read - I should point out that I was in two minds about shelving these under 'Queer Interest' - I think it is accurate because of Slater's superbly queer 'Paradise Hotel' but only the story 'Love' mentioned previously could be described as having a queer content - but then the others are equivocal at times - I just don't want anyone to misunderstand.
