About the author

Antoine Galland was a French orientalist and archaeologist, most famous as the first European translator of The Thousand and One Nights (also known as The Arabian Nights in English). His version of the tales appeared in twelve volumes between 1704 and 1717 and exerted a huge influence on subsequent European literature and attitudes to the Islamic world.

Οι Ιστορίες από τις Χίλιες και μια Νύχτες είναι ίσως το καλύτερο παράδειγμα του τι σημαίνει μαγική αφήγηση.Αν έπρεπε να κατηγοριοποιήσω αυτή τη συλλογή ιστοριών,δεν θα τα έλεγα παραμύθια,αλλά μάλλον μαγικές ιστορίες. Δεδομένου ότι σχεδόν όλοι είναι εξοικειωμένοι με την υπόθεση πίσω από αυτές τις ιστορίες,δεν θα πάω σε λεπτομέρειες για αυτή την ωραία συλλογή.Αντίθετα,θα εκφράσω τη γνώμη μου γι αυτές.Εκτός από τις επιρροές που είχαν(που εισήχθησαν στην Ευρώπη) στη δυτική λογοτεχνική παράδοση,συνεχίζουν να διασκεδάζουν γενιές και γενιές αναγνωστών σε όλο τον κόσμο. Σε αντίθεση με πολλά παραμύθια,οι ιστορίες από τις Χίλιες και μια Νύχτες παραμένουν διαχρονικές,γιατί στον πυρήνα τους απεικονίζουν την ανθρώπινη φύση ίσως καλύτερα από οποιαδήποτε άλλη παρόμοια συλλογή.Μέσα από την αφήγηση της Σεχραζάντ υφαίνεται ένα πολύχρωμο καλειδοσκόπιο μέσα από το οποίο παρελαύνει ολόκληρη η Ανατολή.Mυστήρια εδάφη,μυστηριώδη πλάσματα,θαλασσινές περιπέτεις,παντοδύναμους ηγέτες,ταπεινούς πολίτες.Πάνω απ 'όλα υπάρχουν μαθήματα για την ανθρώπινη φύση με όλες τις ατέλειές της,όπως συμβαίνει με τις περισσότερες ιστορίες,υπάρχει δικαιοσύνη,αλλά η δικαιοσύνη σε αυτό το βιβλίο δεν είναι πάντα δίκαιη,οι ηγέτες είναι άδικοι και οι παραβάτες μερικές φορές δεν τιμωρούνται.Όπως είναι ο κόσμος μας.

Αριστούργημα της κλασσικής λογοτεχνίας. Ο Γκαλάντ είναι ο μεταφραστής των ιστοριών που η Σεχραζάτ περιέγραφε μία προς μία για να σώσει της ζωή της, αλλά και τον μεγάλο σουλτάνο από το μίσος του για τις γυναίκες.
Ολόκληρο το βιβλίο είναι γεμάτο εικόνες και ταξίδια στο χώρο και στο χρόνο.
Το συνιστώ ανεπιφύλακτα!!

Beaucoup aimé le début, mais j'ai paniqué vers la 23eme nuit en pensant qu'il y en aurait 1001 et que les histoires commençaient à avoir ni queue ni tête. Mais finalement soulagée,le livre finit avant et ai bien aimé Aladdin et beaucoup aimé Ali Baba
