Porterhouse is book four in the Grade-A Beefcakes series by Vanessa Vale. I really have been enjoying this series and getting to know the Duke family and their tendency to prefer relationships that are a bit outside of the normal. I especially liked this one. I really liked Jill. And the two men who wanted her for their own, most definitely a yes!
Jill Murphy is twenty-six years old and carries the weight of the world on her shoulders. Her mother gone from cancer, she has done her best to raise her younger brother. Jill is a giver. She put herself through nursing school and is now holding down two jobs, one at the hospital and one for a doctor, in order to pay her mother’s medical bills, her student loans, her mortgage, and care for her brother. Her brother, though, could care less what his actions do to his sister. He is selfish and will do just about anything for his own personal gain.
Jill has known Porter and Liam for some time and loved them for just as long. She agreed to date them both separately, casually, to get to know them. They both knew she was dating the other. In reality, Jill loves them both and wants to be with them both. She’s just too afraid to tell them. Will they be angry and walk away? Would they consider such an arrangement?
Porter Duke and Liam Hogan were both the new sheriff and the District Attorney for Raines County, and best friends. They were both in love with Jill. They had agreed that what they wanted was to share Jill, to both love her. They were just waiting for her to realize it was what she wanted as well.
“We wanted her all-in, heart and soul. And luscious body. So no living with her. Yet. As for living without her? Not happening.”
While Jill, Porter and Liam are testing out their new relationship, Jill’s younger brother has gotten himself in trouble and is on the run. Only this time, he’s gotten himself into a dangerous situation that puts Jill in danger as well. Jill is used to taking care of herself. She doesn’t want her brother’s actions to reflect badly on the two men she loves. Has her brother ruined her chance of finally being with the two men she is so deeply in love with?
This one was definitely one of my favorites of this series. Jill was a tough girl. She knew what she wanted, even though she was nervous to admit it. She also carried such a big load on her shoulders, working to care for others. She’s never been able to rely on anyone before so it’s so hard for her to trust Porter and Liam. I did get frustrated with Porter towards the end but he quickly came around.
This book was definitely hot but also was sweet. I definitely fell in love with these three. I can’t wait to see what comes next with this series!
Once again I feel happy and very satisfied with what I just read despite it being so short. The newest book in the Grade-A Beefcakes series featured cousin of the Dukes, Porter and his best friend Liam finding love with town nurse Jill.
I enjoyed just being able to jump right into the story. I liked the fact that this story didn't begin quite as expected or in the same way that any of the previous books began. I kind of felt that Jill was a little bit more assertive with what she wanted, which I really liked. It gives me hope and gets me excited about reading the book in which Julia Duke will finally get her story told.
I also liked the different sides of family shown in this book. We've seen the Duke family in the previous three books and how close and tight-knit they are. But along the way we've also seen ruthless, dark hearted, horrible family members. This book was an example of some of those not so great family members and the struggles their loved ones can be put through. But of course Vanessa Vale gave readers a story in which you can get completely caught up with the pace and the different twists and turns thrown in, all contained in a short story that leaves you with that happy feeling once it's all over.
Ooh I really enjoyed this story! All Vanessa Vale's books are fun and filled with steamy scenes, but this seemed extra hot. Jill is a sweet girl, a bit too much in the case of her brother, but she knew she wanted Liam and Porter and went for it. They had great chemistry and I liked that they took care of Jill, especially after what she's been through with her family. The narration was well done and this was a short, easy read.
Oh wow. So sexy. Vanessa Vale writes the best sexy stories. I think I blushed once or twice. This was a very endearing story overall - with explicit sex. Although lots of sexual positions, but also a storyline regarding her bothersome brother. Loved it! 5☆
YOU’RE OUR WOMAN, AND IT’S OUR JOB TO TAKE CARE OF YOU
Once again, Ms. Vanessa Vale has unleashed a new series, Grade-A Beefcakes, with a great cast of characters, plenty of laughs, tears, mystery, suspense, romance, and more. Grab you a copy and learn why the Duke boys have earned their beefy monikers. Find out about their proclivities, and when they find ‘the one’ how their lives will change—for the better.
The story will bring together, Jillian Murphy, a nurse who works at the hospital and also for Dr. Metzgar, Porter Duke, the DA, and Liam Hogan, the Sheriff. What starts as Jill dating each of the men separately will change when she is ready to let them know she wants more, and she wants it with both of them—at the same time. Both Porter and Liam had already talked, and they knew that Jill was ‘the one—their girl—the one they would share together—but now Jill is letting them know she wants that type of relationship also.
Jill has raised her younger brother, Tommy, after the death of their mother to cancer. Their father bailed on them when they were young. Jill has put herself through nursing school, holding two jobs, and struggling to make the bills and mortgage and Tommy, at twenty-years-old, is irresponsible and in trouble again—but this time his life is being threatened, and now they are threatening Jill. What they want her to do just goes against everything she believes in, but she can’t tell Porter or Liam, and she won’t risk their jobs either. Stuck between a rock and a hard place, with no clear-cut answers, she decides it is best to run.
“Liam stilled. Porter was quiet for a moment, then he spoke, but his voice was low, almost a whisper. “I’m not your father, and I’m not going to bail. I’m not Tommy and won’t use you. While I didn’t put a ring on your finger the other night, I vowed before I f***ed you bare that this was forever. I have no intention of leaving, but you seem to think this is temporary.”
“I want—I want it to be forever, but I’m scared. Men leave. At least they do for me. I can’t rely on anyone but myself, especially when it comes to money. I need to be financially independent.”
The chemistry and passion between Jill, Porter, and Liam sizzle off the pages. The three of them are all on the same page as to what they want and need in a relationship, that is for Liam and Porter to share Jill between them, and it is what she desires. Jill has several friends, including Parker, who are living a ménage lifestyle. Can she have that too? Or is this legal mess with Tommy going to ruin her chances at happiness? What will Liam and Porter think when they learn what illegal activity is being asked of Jill? Will they no longer trust her? The story has explicit sex scenes, the use of toys, ménage, and mild spankings.
“You’re our woman, and it’s our job to take care of you. Love is why we want to make things easier, not because we’re men.”
Whew, did it get hot in here! While I still snicker at the series name and the hilarious book titles, these reads are no joke. No, they are love in all its complicated goodness…
Jill, Porter and Liam’s relationship was unconventional, true, but their desire, their love, felt too right to be wrong. Not traditional, but full of support and respect, it was right for them. Jill was sweet and sincere, tentative but clear in her feelings. Porter and Liam were solid and true, eager to make Jill theirs. To make them a family…
Despite the limited time for back-stories, the essence of the characters - who they were and what they meant to each other - was easy to feel. I cared about them and wanted them to wind through all the self-doubt, greedy family, and ghosts from the past that plagued them. Unabashedly carnal and frank in its openness, this story is all about love and expressing it. Fan required. Seriously, it is not optional… ~Diane, 4 stars
I received a free copy of this book from the author.
Porterhouse is the fourth book in the Grade-A Beefcakes series by Vanessa Vale. Each book can be read individually but they're short so you can read the pretty quickly if you'd like to catch up!
This book features Sheriff Liam Hogan and DA Porter Duke along with their friend and love interest Jillian (Jill) Murphy. This entire series features menage couples. I find this dynamic quite interesting. You'd think someone's feelings would get hurt, and sometimes they do, but the part of trust along with love in a relationship will go a long way.
In this trio they finally are able to get past the dating stage to be more. A forever type more...when someone threatens their happy ever after. Jill will go to great lengths to keep her men safe.
I'm enjoying reading this series. The men are hot and the women are a force to be reckoned with. Jill in Porterhouse is no different.
I'm really liking this series by Vanessa Vale. The Duke family is awesome and it's neat to see each of them find the woman they want to share with a best friend or another relative. Menage is a favorite thing for me to read so Ms. Vale's books are great. The story is easy to follow and the characters are very real. In this book, we get Porter Duke, who along with his best friend Liam, want to claim Jillian as their woman. But Jillian has trouble following her. Her brother is up to know good and when his actions endanger Jillian, it's going to be up to Porter and Liam to save her. Loved this story!
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest! It was a great book! Danger comes looking for Jill, and her solution is to leave town for good. That way, the people she love will not get hurt. Liam and Porter would totally disagree w/ Jill. She is their woman, and they will make sure that she is protected. Loved the characters + the storytelling! It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book! I can't wait for the next book in this series.
I was really shocked with this book. I wasnt expecting it to be a "forced" partnership. I am so use to the two guys already knowing they want to have this lifestyle, and it gave it extra flare that Liam and Porter didnt. I absolutely hated Jill's brother. Like seriously grow up, and stop fucking your sisters life up. In the end I am glad he got caught and is finally paying his time behind bars.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I think this is my favorite of the series so far. JIll dated both guys before figuring out how to get what she really wanted. And Porter and Liam are alpha makes but sweet and tender with Jill and they go after her. This was a great love story! Thanks, Vanessa! ❤️
Another great book in this series. This one was a little more laid back and had some suspense thrown into it. Liam and Porter were hot and sweet. Jill was amazing and very independent. I look forward to the next one.
I loved reading Porterhouse(Grade-A Beefcakes Book 4). All about Jill Murphy a twenty-six year old nurse & part-time office/share receptionist. She’s dating two big hot guys Porter Duke the DA in Clayton, Montana & Liam Hogan the Sheriff in Raines, Montana. Both guys are bff’s and have agreed to share their one and only Jill forever. She originally started dating each of the guys to get to know them better by doing various fun activities and just kissing. The author wrote a story about a young women who has had a difficult life and she’s still supporting her brother who just walks all over her. Read about Porter & Liam and the beautiful adventure they are on with the love of their lives Jill! This is the fourth book in this series and each book is about a member of the Duke family and they have an interesting tradition that they all follow. I can not wait to read book 5 all about the little sister Julia Duke! I hope you give this family a try, because it is a very pleasurable series of books.

_______________ Tome 4 : Voici Porter Duke.

Jillian Murphy is hard working and too sweet for her own good. With a father who walked out when she was young and a mother who passed away, Jill was left to cover the medical bills, care for her 16 year old brother and put herself through nursing school. But, now Jill’s brother is 20 years old and she’s working two jobs just to keep up while he does nothing to help out . . . except to cause Jill trouble and take advantage of her love for him.
She’s been dating both Porter Duke and Liam Hogan separately and casually . . . but she wants more. She wants them both. But will they go for that or will she be left by the men in her life yet again.
Assistant District Attorney Porter Duke and Sheriff Liam Hogan fell for Jill the first time they both saw her. Rather than fight it out, they decided that Jillian was more than enough woman for one man . . . they just need her to realize that as well before they make a move together. And when she does, they’ll be ready!
When Jill’s brother causes more trouble than expected Jill’s left in an impossible bind. Will she turn to the new men in her life or will she find herself facing the threat alone so it doesn’t destroy those she cares about the most?
Jill’s character was awesome. She is the sweetest and willing to self sacrifice to keep everyone she loves happy and safe. I also loved how alpha Porter and Liam were in this book, but that they let Jill make up her mind before truly making a move. They were sweet and sexy and just the right touch of domineering when it comes to her safety and of course in the bedroom!
The plot moves quickly and there’s plenty of steam and drama to make Porterhouse a really fun read. 4.5 stars.
Tutti e tre. A snu-snuzzare felici.
Porterhouse is the fourth book in Vanessa Vale’s Grade-A Beefcakes series. Readers are introduced to Jillian Murphy, Porter Duke, and Liam Hogan. Jillian is a registered nurse working two jobs to earn enough to pay off her existing debt (mother’s medical bills and student loans). Porter is the District Attorney and Lian is the new sheriff. Destiny brings these three together in this romantic suspense. All three are hardworking individuals who suffer emotional scars in varying degrees. Jillian comes from a dysfunctional family and her younger brother is selfish and irresponsible. He gets himself involved with criminals ends up with a debt he cannot pay. He expects Jillian to bail him out. A chemistry ignites amongst this trio. Will they find happiness? Will Jillian help her brother out? You must read their story to discover their journey.
Ms. Vale does a great job penning this romantic suspense. In this character-driven plot, we discover that her lead characters are multi-layered. They are strong and independent and yet, because of their past experiences, they are vulnerable. Her lead characters are likeable. It intrigued me that Ms. Vale selected Jillian’s brother as one of the villains, along with the two thugs. I appreciate the way Ms. Vale builds suspense and tension through many rising action events leading to a climactic scene involving the arrest and interrogation of Tommy. Overall, this was a captivating read. Well done, Ms. Vale.
Porterhouse is the fourth book in the Grade-A Beefcakes series. Jill has been casually dating both Porter and Liam, but just as she’s just about to tell them she wants both of them, together, her brother comes calling. Luckily, Porter and Liam are willing to share Jill, and want to spend the rest of their life all three of them. But when Jill’s brother wraps her up in his mess, can she go to her men to help, or will her independence drive them apart?
This book was so good! Jill, Porter, and Liam were hot, full of love, and learning to lean on and trust one another. I actually loved that while a ménage relationship wasn’t unheard of, none of the three characters have engaged in one before! Jill just wanted to do the best she could for her brother, protect him when needed, her heart was so big, but I loved that she was able to recognize her limits when push came to shove. Porter and Liam had a few of their own hang ups here and there, especially Porter, but I loved their open mind, their drive to protect Jill, and their need to take care of her, too. They were definitely a fun relationship to read and I liked the little bits of drama sprinkled in throughout the pages, too! This series and this book has been a ton of fun to read, extremely passionate, and I just love Ms. Vale’s writing!
This book was different than the others as in they aren't looking for a threesome relationship. They went in wanting the girl and realizing that they'd rather share her than not having her. The only problem would be convincing her of this. Meanwhile, she is fighting with herself on how to approach to the guys that she would like to be with both of them not realizing that they are thinking the same.
I loved these characters. Jill is a hardworking, loyal and caring person. She has had the world on her shoulders and along with a brother that does nothing but cause her troubles. She doesn't have much trust in anything lasting because she hasn't had a good history with people staying. Liam is the town sheriff. Liam and Porter want to do what they can to take care of Jill but she isn't one that will easily accept help of any kind. They want to show her that she can count on them and that they are in for the long haul but everything implodes and it will test their love and trust in each other.
Another great installment to this series of standalones. I have read each and every one of them and I am always eager to get the next. This series was my first introduction to Vanessa's work and I have enjoyed each story immensely.
PORTERHOUSE was very cute, but there were some times towards the end that I really wanted to smack the crap out of one of the characters. But, even with that, very cute and sweet story.
Jill is very sweet, but definitely has some baggage that she is dealing with. Her brother is basically a loser and tries his darndest to drag her down. But she is also very strong, because she is constantly pulling herself back up. I also thought that she definitely had some issues with her own confidence, but after reading more I could totally see where it came from.
And Porter Duke and Liam Hogan are just what she needs to help her gain that confidence back. But, they also have some of their own baggage, especially Porter, and that almost caused an issue that they may not have been able to get around. And one of the men lost a big in my eyes, but he was totally able to redeem himself at the end.
Overall, cute story that definitely had some drama and scorching sexy scenes that just add the right amount of spice to the tale. The characters were enjoyable (even when I wanted to reach into the pages and wring one’s neck) and the story was really easy to read and nicely paced. I think this is a great addition to the series and can’t wait to see what is coming next! Happy reading!!!
I love Vanessa Vale's books and in this, her latest publication, she doesn't disappoint! Porterhouse is part of the Grade - A - Beefcakes series but can be read as a standalone. This tale is about Porter Duke, a Duke family cousin, his best friend Liam Hogan and the woman they want to claim, Jillian Murphy. Jillian has been over thinking whether or not she wants to be with 2 men, she's insecure, thinking there must be something wrong with her. After speaking with her friends and being honest with both Porter and Liam she realizes that maybe there isn't something wrong with her and decides to give this relationship a try. Porter is suffering from insecurities himself having been burned in a past relationship so there's misinterpreted actions, things said , that are taken the wrong way etc. All 3 of them have their doubts about this relationship but when Jillian's life is in danger and the men face the potential of losing her, they all start to understand what's happening to them. As I said I love Vanessa's writing and I thoroughly enjoyed Porterhouse! It's a quick read with no cliffhanger!! I was given an ARC of this book for an honest opinion.
Jill has her hands full since her mother passed away. She is working two jobs and that is barely enough to pay her student loans, her mother’s medical debts and look after her brother who has no problem dragging her into whatever trouble he gets into. The only bright spot in her life is Porter and Liam as she has developed feelings for both of them and is unable to choose between them.
Porter is the sheriff while Liam is the DA and they are best friends. They know that they are both dating Jill and are willing to share her and all that is left to do is convince her.
When Jill’s brother gets into trouble she becomes collateral damage and she is willing to do whatever is necessary to protect her men even if that means leaving them.
Sweet and sexy I enjoyed the relationship between the three of them. Jill is used to being the one that has to fix all the problems but her men are determined to show her that she is not alone anymore.
Love the continuation of this series as all couples comprise of one female and at least two males. Jill has been dating Liam and Porter for two months and decides she wants both men but is unsure of how to tell them. Unknown to Jill, the men have decided they will share the same woman and Jill is the one for them. When she finally decides to tell them of her decision, her brother Tommy gets himself in trouble with the wrong people and they come looking for him. They threaten to kill both Tommy and Jill if she doesn’t come up with the money Tommy owes or she can forge prescriptions for them. Jill decides to leave town as she does not want to hurt her two men. The book is fast pace, sexually exciting and holds your attention. There is a lot that happens in this book and I would highly recommend it as a great read.
I just love this author! Everything she writes I just devour! Jill just can’t catch a break since her mother died- she works 2 jobs to keep a roof over their head and food in their bellies plus paying for their mother’s medical expenses and student loans. Not to mention she has an ungrateful brother that mooches off her. She catches the eye of the DA and the Sheriff and she can’t decide between the two, so she starts a romantic relationship with both at the same time.
Porter and Liam were goners when they saw Jill. They haven’t shared before but with Jill they are willing to make an exception, but will Jill go for it? When Jill’s brother brings trouble to their doorstep Jill becomes collateral damage. Will Porter and Liam be able to overlook the evidence when it starts to stack up against her?
While I enjoyed reading this book and getting to know Porter, Liam, and Jill this book wasn't my favorite in the Grade-A series. I know these are novellas and in order to get to the meat of the story we need to get to the climax faster. But I would have loved a chance to see how these guys each met Jill. I also would have loved a bit more of a glimpse into a date or two and how they fell in love. I did love watching them grow together, especially Liam and his insecurities. Porter did make me mad for a moment and Jill did frustrate me. I mean seriously, she has two strong alpha men who say they love her yet she feared going to them for help?? I did enjoy this story though and am definitely looking forward to the next one. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*
The steam is served with a lot of huge helping of sizzle
This is my first read of this author's new series, and Liam, Porter, and Jill's story has just as much, if not more, steam and sizzle as her past stories! Jill has been dating both men, but she is wanting to take dating to a whole new level - with BOTH men. After all, their little town is not new to the ménage concept, but it is her struggle to remain independent, with past trust issues that make her a little leery of going all in at first. Jill is juggling a very full plate of life, and with her huge heart, is also taking on the responsibility of looking after her brother. With Liam and Porter doing everything they can to convince the object of their desire, however, it may just complicate things in a life suddenly pulling her in all directions, especially if they get their wires crossed in the shuffle.
Spice: 🌶 🌶 🌶 🌶 Characters: Jill is in the medical field, struggling to make ends meet. She took on the parental role of raising her brother as well as continuing to try to support him+her in their early adulthood. The love interests are the sheriff and the DA who I had a little trouble keeping separate due to their lack of depth. We had more insight into Jill than their lives. There was just enough to distinguish them, but even so I’ve forgotten their names.. Liam? And ? Plot: The overall storyline made sense which I tend to cringe when romance stories involve cops, murders, etc.. sometimes that just doesn’t work in their favor. This one was simple enough to keep the story moving and provide a conflict that needed resolving. Writing style: if you’ve read her other books, it’s about the same although I would say this is better written than the historical romances.
This is the fourth book in the Grade A Beefcakes series, and again, I’m a bit disappointed because I’ve read other stories by Vanessa Vale that had more to “chew on”. Again it seems that most of the “action” was in the bedroom… and that’s not totally a bad thing, if that’s what you’re looking for. The “love scenes” are well written and will definitely make you feel “hot all over”, but at times some of the language is somewhat “corny”, making the story line seem very superficial and mostly about sex, sex, sex… Personally, I like to have a story that’s a bit more complex, I need it to keep me interested. Still, I’m looking forward to Julian’s story in the next book of this series!

Meet—or should I say meat—Porter Duke. He serves up a large portion of big beef all alone, but he doesn't want to claim Jillian Murphy by himself. Liam Hogan has what it takes to satisfy the hungriest appetite—and their woman is insatiable. When Jill's life is in danger, should she go to the DA and new sheriff who have stolen her heart? Or should she protect her men from the one thing that could destroy them—herself? With a Vanessa Vale book, one cowboy is never enough. In this smokin' hot series, each heroine gets an extra helping (or two) of Grade-A Beefcake.
Heather's Notes These girls are way to forgiving. I need a little more grovel, when a man is a jerk. Still it was an understandable mistake. The brother was a horrid dick.
