So, about me. I’ve been writing sensual romance—and some other stuff—for about five years now. What a busy five years it’s been, too. I’ve met a lot of great people along the way.

I’m blind and have been for more than a decade. I don’t go anywhere without my best buddy, Cosmo. He’s my guide dog. Once in a while, he turns up in my stories, incognito, of course. He and I travel when we can via planes and trains; we don’t really care for long car trips. Hmmm…what else? We have a couple of cats that keep us on our toes. They’re good for tons of aggravation and entertainment. I got them for Cosmo, but I don’t think he appreciates them as much as he should.

We love the beach, though we don’t get there as often as we’d like. I live on the Jersey Shore so the only excuse I have for not hitting the sand is that it’s cold and besides that, I can’t drive.

When I’m not writing, I teach blind people how to use adaptive technology so that they can surf the web. I meet plenty of interesting people that way and it keeps me from ever getting complacent. …Not to mention the inspiration for stories that I get. It’s a job that keeps on giving. Actually, I’m not sure it’s really a job; more like a thing I do.

Cosmo likes chunky peanut butter and rawhide bones. I drink way too much coffee—black and strong. I like red wine at night sometimes but he’s a teetotaler. He stays away from alcohol and chocolate these days.

And that’s all I can think of just now. I hope you enjoy the website. Mae’s done some great things with it. I’ll keep writing if you keep reading. Just bear with me if I slow down now and then. Thank you. I really appreciate you stopping by.

This book is the first in the Montgomery Family Legacies, it was recommended to me by my blogger friend Erotic Horizon.

I really had trouble remembering the name of the book, I keep thinking it's All in the Family, no it's Always a Family.. then I go back to look at the book to remember the name.. don't know why?!

It's the story of actor Riker Montgomery who happens to have trouble keeping young fans out of his bed, till one night he finds Bet there sleeping.. Right away he knows she is the one and they live a night of bliss..

In the morning Bet is afraid he might think her a loose woman, she disappears, only to realize her mistake when she realizes her love for him. So she tries to contact him and fails, then she discovers she is pregnant so she tries again, but his lawyer tells he that Riker wants nothing to do with her and her baby!!

Then after she delivers the action starts, and she is chased around the country by people who want her and her offspring!! Will she find Riker and will he save her? Or will he just turn his back on his family?

True that it was a reasonably short book and reads fast but so is the details.. The main idea is good but the writing is just not my style.. The plot was also good but really needs some more developing, the information is given in bits and pieces, the way she accepted that Riker is a werewolf was actually no reaction at all.. I did like the sibling joking between Riker and Lakon.. it should have been more.. I guess if the same story was extended another 100 pages it would have worked better for me..

As for the rest of the series, I might and I might not continue.. It really depends on my mood, but for now I'm going to go read something quite different.. Although I do want to know what happens with Lakon, he was really cute!!

It was supposed to be erotic and I don't mind that but it was not my kind of erotic it was more on the mild side :)

This book starts you on an incredible series. The blurb doesn't begin to scratch the surface on how good this book is. Riker, a famous actor, met his mate, the woman of his dreams. They spend one amazing night together but when morning comes, Rikers mate is nowhere to be found. He doesn't even know her name. Days pass and he still cant find her. His family rallies around to help find her but there's no trail. In Acting Like Family, the title explains it all. The way the family is supportive, how caring everyone is, and in here, you'll meet Mik (Rikers father) and hes an amazing wolf/man. He's the voice of wisdom in the pack and the ultimate alpha. He protects his family and not just blood related ones. He adopts all kinds of people into his pack. This story makes you feel such emotion! You feel apart of the characters and there isn't any minor ones. Everyone has there special quirks and unique personalities. This story gives sneak peeks into upcoming stories and makes you wish for the next story in the series. Id recommend this story to people who loves shifters, close nit families, men that can admit fault and lots of bonding! You can feel the love jumping from the book. Read this series. Start with this book and you'll be dying to grab the next one!

This is the first book in the series. In this book we have a human and werewolf who meet under unusual circumstances and unbeknownst to her, become mates. Bethany Black realizes that she loves him and tries to contact him but his lawyer keeps them apart. Ryker Montgomery is trying to find his missing mate but only knows her as Bet. He doesn't know that Auggie, his lawyer is being evil until much later in the book. Eventually they meet again and it does end on a pleasant note!

It wasn't very long but it was a good story. There was action, romance, and a little heartbreak when they are searching for each other. I enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone who likes werewolf books, or paranormal romance.

Acting Like a Family by J.J. Massa is the first book in the Montgomery Family series. This book had me hooked from page one. I was not able to put the book down until I had read it cover to cover. From start to finish, J.J. weaved a story that engrossed me and kept me turning the pages. There is romance, passion, mystery, and a quest! Riker is a strong virile man/Alpha werewolf, yet he is not afraid to show his despair when Bethany is missing. His sensitivity as well as his strength make him sexy and desirable. Bethany may appear to be a fragile female, but just below the surface she is a fierce protector and a passionate woman. There are also many secondary characters whose stories I can't wait to read. 'Acting Like a Family' the first book in a great series.

i don't normally write reviews so this will be short and sweet.
this is a good story, bumpy and inconsistent here and there but i guess if it were longer those issues would have been avoided but whatever. I felt like the love happened waaay too quickly like one page was awesome sex then bam! she's in love and I'm feeling like i missed some pages but nope awesome sex and giving birth for a were can do that to a girl >_>... she felt way too complacent too other than when she was defending herself lol (poor lakon scene) but otherwise a good read for a long train ride or lazy day if you're into that sort of thing. And apparently i'm into that sorta thing cuz i'm gonna go read the rest of this series... eventually
