The Twins Separated at Birth series is an unusual premise of a story that is interesting and full of twists about the how the two baby girls were separated and adopted into two different families. Now grown, the two, Audrey Clark and Kendra Parker, met accidentally in the first story, Undercover Twin. Or was it an accident? Audrey, a Professor at CalTech with a government grant, has to fill an undercover role when FBI agent, Kendra, is shot during a time sensitive case in Undercover Twin.
Now, Kendra is on leave and trying to locate their biological mother when things go downhill fast. Their biological mother, Beverly, is a professor at a university in Florida and apparently an agent/spy as well. Joe Rose is a pastor and FBI analyst that Beverly has reached out to for counseling and she has also been mentoring Joe. The communications of the dark network, Masked, was broken up by Audrey and Lee, Kendra's FBI agent partner. Beverly, Kendra and Joe have to make a quick escape when the powers within the network attack them in Florida. A quick plan is formed. Now Kendra has to switch places with Audrey in her lab at CalTech to protect her research so she is off to California with Joe. The action does not stop in this story from the beginning to the end. The two are in danger with no idea of who to trust as Masked has agents in all branches of law enforcement. With time to ponder their fate between running for their life, Joe and Kendra explore their faith and what is important. Suspense, danger, action, romance and faith fill this story that takes place just before Christmas with a great ending.
I received a complimentary ARC from the author. All thoughts and opinions are mine only.

This is the second book in the Twins Separated at Birth series in the Love Inspired Suspense line at Harlequin books. Not sure if there will be more books in this series but I hope so. Crossed fingers.

I am reading this as part of my “Read More Paperbacks” Challenge to myself. I have such a collection of real books as opposed to digital books that I know I need to read as many as possible and send them off to new homes.

This story leaves off not long after the previous book where Audrey and Lee (Kendra’s partner) met and fell in love. Now Kendra, who is Audrey’s twin, is looking into the identity of her Mother and is following up on a lead. This causes her to take Audrey’s place. She is met by an old friend from her academy days, Joe Rosa. Joe is on a journey of his own. He wants to get out of the daily grind of the FBI and move into a pastoral position of some kind. He is unsure and searching for answers.

I liked this dynamic. Both are searching for something and both need each other in order to accomplish these goals. The unseen enemy in this book always seemed to be one step ahead of them and thwarting them at every turn. I didn’t completely understand Beverley’s motives for setting up this meeting between Joe and Kendra. It was originally because Beverley wanted more intel on this person named the Pirate who was after Audrey’s defense contracted creations. But I feel in the end the motive was to just get her and Joe to find each other again and bring a bit of happiness back to Kendra’s life.

Lots of action and suspense in this one. I really enjoy Woodhaven’s writing and will look to future books by her in this line of inspirational books. If you are really sensitive to religious aspects of books, this one is not obnoxious at all. You will appreciate Joe’s point of view and not just see it as preaching to the reader. The thrilling aspects and never rest plotline pushes the story forward so quickly that you will find yourself sad when you get to the end and leave the characters behind. Loved this dynamic duo of books. Right up my alley.

If you love a good romantic suspense, you have to check this one out. You won’t be disappointed.

What I loved most about this book is that the writer, Heather Woodhaven, has one of the characters referring to Christmas as the 'beginning of a successful rescue mission.' I admit it isn't that often that one of my quick reads or 'purse paperbacks' has a quote that stays with me. Mostly my reading is meant to help me decompress from stress. I tend to forget characters and plots quickly because I consume books so quickly. However, I am going to keep this quote in mind.

They are on the run with danger on their heels...

Since reading her sister's story in book one I've been curious about the somewhat mysterious FBI agent Kendra. And wow! The holiday season has never been so dangerous! Covert Christmas Twin started off with an assassination attempt and shocking revelations, and that was only the first couple of chapters or so! After that it was a wild and crazy ride for both the lead characters and readers.

Heather Woodhaven is quickly becoming one of my favorite Love Inspired Suspense authors. And it's because of books like this one and its predecessor. There was something so novel about twins switching places in highstakes jobs, Kendra is an FBI agent and her sister is a brilliant scientist, not once but twice.

I have to say that I really liked Joe. I had wondered what kind of guy the author would pair with the heroine, but Joe was not what I expected. He's rather mild mannered, doesn't exactly have it all put together, but he is also protective, smart, and a man of faith. Exactly what Kendra needs, even if she doesn't know it right away.

So, Covert Christmas Twin was a great read, perfect for Christmastime, or anytime really. I liked this book and if you enjoy romantic suspense I suspect you will too...

(I received a copy of this book from the author. All opinions are entirely my own.)

I enjoyed this clean, love Inspired. Suspenseful romance. I voluntarily chose to review this story and I've given it a 5* rating. This had a lot of action and mayhem to stir up a situation of twins separated at birth. Lots of guessing needed to find the head of the Mask group. Lots to keep you turning the pages. This is the second in this series of the "Twins Separated at Birth" Series.

I know this came out years ago but I finally pulled my to read pile out of my closet now that my twins are one.
I loved this story about Kendra and Joe. Even though I didn't read the one before, Woodhaven does a great job of filling in the blanks.
My favorite quote is "Christmas is about celebrating the beginning of a successful rescue mission."

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Covert Christmas Twin. This is the second book in the Series Twins Separated at Birth. After I read the first book I was excited to receive this one in the mail. It didn't let me down. I really liked this series and hope there are more stories to come. The story is well written, action packed and full of twists. I know you are going to love this one.

FBI Agent Kendra Parker discovered she had a twin sister she never knew of. She hadn't known she was adopted and that all her brothers weren't really her brothers after all. After meeting her sister she is determined to find out who her biological mother is. This definitely didn't turn out the way she wanted it to, her mother is a spy. She must go undercover as her sister the scientist with a man that her mother sent with her.

FBI Behavioral Analyst Joe Rose has decided to give up being an FBI agent and become a chaplain. He is being mentored by Beverly Walsh while he transitioned into leaving the FBI. After Kendra is shot at he takes her to talk to her mother. They are sent to take Kendra's sister place as she will soon be attacked and her research stolen.

A journey of twists and turns; with no one to trust but each other. God has a plan for these two, a plan for a hope for a future and a hope. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not for evil. Give Him your heart and watch Him turn your life around.

Kendra has been obsessed with finding her birth mother since discovering that she has a secret twin. They were separated as babies and adopted by different families and neither twin knew about the other
She uses her resources as an FBI agent to locate her birth mother only to discover her mother is a spy and that she has put herself in imminent danger by finding her.
In Undercover Twin (Book 1), Audrey needed to pose as her sister Kendra to help bring down the ‘Masked Communications Network’. Although Kendra and her partner Lee thought they had eliminated the threat from this group, she now discovers that communications was only one arm of the ‘Masked’ and they are still very active and targeting an electrical engineering project Audrey and her team are working on.
To protect Audrey and her project, she must assume her sister’s identity and work with FBI analyst Joe Rose to bring the ‘Masked’ down once and for all
As the plot unfolds there are many twists and turns. A very good read!

Covert Christmas Twin is a companion book in Twins Separated at Birth by Heather Woodhaven in the Love Inspired line.
If you like FBI operatives running from bad guys, this is well worth the reading.
Audrey’s story was in Undercover Twin and now we get to see what trouble Kendra, the real FBI agent, is getting into as she takes her sister’s place in a research lab, and pretend to like all things Christmas. Is she successful in making people think she is Audrey? Explosive action and being trapped in an abandoned building add to the excitement. Joe Rose, FBI agent and Kendra are trying to find and take down a mastermind. The trouble is they don’t know if they can trust anybody but eachother.
Great follow up to Undercover Twin. Do the sisters finally get to reunite? And lookout for Mr. and Mrs. Clause... who is using the disguise?

COVERT CHRISTMAS TWIN is the second book in Heather Woodhaven's Twins Separated at Birth duet and revolves around a FBI Special Agent and FBI analyst in a rush against time to find out who's corrupt.

Kendra is a hard-nosed federal agent who shows her softer side in this book. She stops at nothing to find out who their biological mother is, but meeting her and finding out she's a spy leaves her racing to get her sister out of danger by trading places with her again.

Joe is in the right place at the right time to be drawn into her mother's plot to keep the girls safe and try to take down the organization trying to steal top secret data.

I recommend this story to anyone who read the first book and is looking for answers about their parents and how they came to be separated at birth.

Could you pretend to be your twin? Even if you had just discovered you had a sister? That's what Kendra Parker must do when she discovers her birth mother and a plot to obtain her sister's research that could endanger the entire country - or world! FBI agent Joe Rose helps Kendra as their race to discover the person behind this plot and to stay alive since they don't know who to trust. A fast paced suspense story that keeps you on the edge of your seat! This is the 2nd in the series but you don't need to have read the 1st book to enjoy this story. BUT if you like this, you need to read Undercover Twin and discover more about Audrey, Kendra's sister.

"...Christmas is really about celebrating the beginning of a successful rescue mission..." Like the heroine, Kendra, I can appreciate a holiday that reminds me of that.
This is a wonderful book of family, suspense, and falling in love set in the Christmas season. Kendra was adopted as a newborn, then found she had a twin - not just a sibling but a twin! In this book she meets her/their biological Mother. Will she find the answers she seeks before it's too late? Snuggle into your cozy chair and enjoy the ride!

Covert Christmas Twin by Heather Woodhaven is an excellent romantic suspense story. The author has all the elements of a good suspense story covered and the romantic relationship that bloomed between Kendra Parker and Joe Rose was so very sweet. This book has lots of endearing moments in addition to lots of action and suspense. I really enjoyed all the characters and their interactions with each other. The pace was just right and so this was very easy to read.
