Daddy's Little

Rate this book
His ad Submissive wanted – 3 Days Only! For Eric, dominant tendencies ran in the family. But God help him, if he had to sit through another holiday dungeon party matched to the worst submissive his mother could find, he was going to choke somebody… and not in a good way. Still, never in his wildest dreams did he expect that ad to work. He certainly didn’t expect to find a submissive like Lacey—shy, reserved, unbelievably eager to please, and best of all, a preferential Little that fit perfectly with his Daddy Dom desires. The only fly in the warming lubricant? Lacey had the hunger, but some past ex had told her that she wasn’t ‘real’—not a real Little; not a real submissive. She believed it, but she couldn’t be more wrong and he was going to prove it to her. The first job of a Daddy Dom had nothing to do with spankings, cuddles, rules or sex. Daddy Dom Priority #1: Take Care of Your Submissive. Lacey was about to learn this the hard way… Especially once she became Daddy’s Little. Author Originally published under the title Real.

Honestly, this was different. Also, there's plenty of kink and oral but no sex in this book. O_O

The characters were amazing but the majority of this book centered on BDSM trauma. The heroine had been abused by her Daddy Dom for 4 years and had a lot of internalized issues attached to that. She also had an alcoholic mother who is currently clean. Most of the book centered around those issues.

The rest centered around the clusterfuck that was the hero's family. His family was hilarious but...unbelievable and very, very squicky. The hero's entire family is into BDSM and they all party together. And excuse me while I throw up in my mouth. His mom is Mistress Mother. His sisters are both Subs. His dad is a Sub and Mistress Mother has a female puppy. And I both laughed and gagged with the idea of hanging out around my entire fucking family while nude. And then watching them get down with their kinky selves.

Dude. WTF.

If I EVER had to watch either of my parents get their rocks off? Our relationships would never be the same. And I damn sure have no interest in my mom watching me do my do. Ugh. So grossssssssssss. I can't even imagine showing to a family dinner where i saw my sister naked except for a collar. NOOOOOOOOOO!

I could not relate.

Not a fan of this book. It was hard to connect to both of the main characters and I didn't really care for the storyline. This is the first book I've read by this author, maybe the next one I read will be better.

SUBMISSIVE WANTED FOR THREE DAYS ONLY

This was an amazing and emotional roller-coaster ride. My heart just breaks for the injustice of what all Lacey McPherson had endured and her courage to take a leap of faith, even if it was only to be for three days. Eric Hughes isn’t new to living a dominant life, and he has the ability to see through fluff and evasiveness. What he doesn’t have time for is his mother’s machination of his life, and with her annual party fast approaching, he takes out an out on Fet-life.

“Three-days-only for-the-holidays kind of relationship.”

The plot will have Eric seeking a submissive for a short stint, three days, not consecutive, to get through the family holidays. He needs to scene with her before his family get-together that she is to attend and he, in turn, will go to a family event for her. The difference between Eric and Lacey’s upbringing is as far as night and day. She was raised by a drunk for a mother who Lacey left as soon as she could and only endures seeing her once a year, on Lacey’s birthday. Eric was raised with parents who live the D/s lifestyle, own dungeons, host dungeon play parties, and it is the norm for them.

“Are you brave enough to follow me down the rabbit hole?”

My heart just breaks for how Lacey’s former Daddy Dom of many years turned on her, telling her she wasn’t a “Real Little” and then left her for someone else. Eric isn’t in a relationship now and doesn’t want to ask someone he knows that attends his dungeon parties. When Eric and Lacey meet, she is anxious, she keeps trying to tell herself she really isn’t a little, just a submissive, but Eric reads her better than she can see herself. A trip to his club for a scene will be an eye-opener for her in acknowledging her real little self and accepting it as it is. Will she be ready for Operation The Great Relationship Deception?

I loved the compassion and chemistry of Eric with Lacey. He forces her to open up and be honest, he helps her see it wasn’t her, but her ex-Roger who is the problem. Once Lacey can openly say she is a little, he can work with that since being a Daddy Dom to a little girl is something he loves. Preparing her for their family issues is another story. But this Daddy Dom has a way of helping to heal between Lacey and her mother—but what will he do about his own aggressive mother?

The story has explicit sex scenes, voyeurism, exhibition, sceneing at a dungeon party, oral, anal sex and various spankings and punishments. It is such a beautiful story of acceptance and maybe, just maybe the beginning to a happy future for Eric and his Lacey-baby. The story is a great example that not-one-size fits all, and we are each different, with different fantasies and desires, and someone else doesn’t have the right to put a label on it.

Note: This book was previously published under the title of Real.

I enjoyed this book. There were very many things that I liked about this book. To start, I thought Eric and Lacey were wonderful characters. Eric was hot, wise, protective and loving. In short I thought he was a practically perfect Daddy Dom and exactly what lg, Lacey needed. Lacey was a very sympathetic character. Her childhood and previous Dd had left her with plenty of emotional scars, vulnerabilities and anxieties. The story was very well written and kept me entertained. I did love how deeply the book delved into Lacey's issues but I also wished it had delved deeper into the actual relationship that was blossoming between these two. I would have also liked these characters to share more intimate scenes. There were only like three and they mostly focused on oral. As for Eric's family dynamic, it kind of weirded me out a bit. I can't even imagine spending time with my parents like this and to be honest I really do not want to. By my own accord I am posting a forthright review.

The synopsis pretty much covers everything so I'm just going to dive into my review. This was a book a little out of my comfort zone. That said, it was a good read, I learned a lot. I liked Lacey and Eric, the relationship developing between them was sweet with the kink. I do wish we saw more of them as a couple after the holidays, etc and more sexy scenes. I wanted more of that and less of her family situation and his. Eric's family had my jaw dropping and was a strange twist that I didn't necessarily like or dislike, it was mostly just weird but was in keeping with the story. I'm glad I took a chance on this story, it was an enjoyable read and give three and 1/2 stars for Daddy's Little.

I Have mixed feelings about this book so let me start by saying I haven't read any Daddy Dom books so this was particularly interesting learning about the very different relationship of what is a Daddy/little couple and how each is unique. I did actually like a lot of the roll playing and the scenes were very steamy. But...... I didn't really care for reading the play scenes after they had already happened I felt we missed so much of the dynamic of there relationship and how the two felt during the actual playtime scenes. It all went a little further down hill in the last couple of chapters I mean I new the characters were heading to a family/dungeon Christmas party but I started to see the family relationship and was totally weirded-out his family had no boundaries like who wants to see there father in a maid outfit doing sexual stuff with Mom or both your sisters in some sort of Dom play themselves. That part alone almost ruined the whole book for me but again I did love the daddy Dom relationship and had I not read the last part of the book I would giving a better review.

Overall I think this all comes down to personal preference if you don't really mind the stuff I personally didn't like then this book is for you I do recommend reading the first three quarters of the books it had some great humor and some steamy fun play.

3.5 stars. The book was well written. I did not like the fact that Lacey was so wimpy. Yes she was a little, yes her former boyfriend misled her and fed her lies about Littles. Like Eric I hated they she apologized all the time and lied about what she really wanted. I liked how Eric read her, knew what she needed and have it to her. The scene with Eric's parents was just too weird, I guess it emphasized his point of not wanting to go to his family dinner alone but added nothing to the story.

I’m checking out at the alcoholic mother. Children of addicts don’t have to subject themselves to continued contact after poor childhoods. That’s not something with which a Daddy can help...nor something a good one should encourage.

DNF at 53%

ETA: and I’m glad I stopped there. Reading the other reviews, seems like Eric’s whole family practices BDSM in front each other! Wtf! Incestuous lack of boundaries is not BDSM. Wtf is that creepy stuff. Yeah, big no.

So much potential. But we were told about scenes after the fact. The part with her mother almost sweet and healing. And then we were subjected to a most bizarre family dynamic with seriously disturbing undercurrents. Who grows up watching their sister get off and a mother who hits on their date? The story should have stuck with the two of them. Ended abruptly. No love declaration. No epilogue. No real resolution of Lacey’s past, either.

I very much enjoyed this book. Instead of the main focus being on the main characters, Eric~ Dom (H) & Lacey~ sub (h) in an established D/s relationship, the focus is on how an extremely experienced & trained Dom helps an unsure & emotionally damaged sub find her true submissive self & identity.
Both Eric & Lacey need 'cover dates' for holiday family get-togethers & Eric's ad brings them to meet.
Eric was an awesome Dom, sensitive & aware, intuitive & experienced, all traits that cue him into 'something' being 'off' about Lacey's claim to be submissive, per se. And when Lacey eagerly pushes for them to try a 'scene' immediately, he agrees in order to question her in a private setting to undercover the truth, if possible.
Lacey was a woman the reader could have empathy for, a previous so-called Dom/lover had ignored, brushed aside, disagreed with Lacey regarding how a 'real' sub acts, is treated & what type of sub she was. Therefore Lacey subsumes her true cravings, inclinations & needs based on her previous relationship.
But Eric IS a REAL Dom & firmly but thoughtfully encourages & guides Lacey into acknowledging what she wants & more importantly, NEEDS.
I felt this was a very loving story, one of an experienced Dom taking a damaged sub under his control to help her cast off damaging perceptions & misbeliefs, to allow her to grow & heal & be herself. Eric is firm but ALWAYS has Lacey's interests at heart.
But this relationship was only supposed to last a few days, to last for 2 family get togethers. Neither Eric or Lacey were to allow emotions to enter into the equation.
But, what do they do when both of them DO start to have feelings for the other? How do they walk away?
I recommend this one if you want a BDSM romance focused on the build up of a relationship, of helping a person heal & find their way rather than an deeply established D/s couple.
There's some steamy erotic interaction, a lot of excellent dialogue with ALL the characters & a screamingly funny family meal at Eric's parents home.

Mixed feelings about this book

!!Potential plot spoilers!!
No real potential triggers.
DD/lg encounter, can't call it a romance because there isn't any romance. No I love you, no actual HEA. Very little emotional exposure on either side apart from the angst on the heroines part, which is unrelenting throughout the book.
It's a quick read, and flirts with emotional depth.
Eric is almost too good to be true, understanding, empathetic and utterly reasonable. Until they get to his parents home.
Although he does support Lacey he should never have put her in that situation in the first place.
The family dynamic is twisted, with Alice, the family pet at her Mistresses feet, two sisters in fet wear and one of them getting a heavy handed caning as her brother watched.
Being given only a ribbon to wear to dinner with a room full of people she had never met?
There is a difference between a submissive and a doormat, Lacey is a doormat.
The whole thing with his parents is over the top, and I found it distasteful.
That said, the book is engaging and well written apart from a few grammatical and editorial errors that irritated but didn't impact on the storyline.
Lacey's Little isn't much to comment on, the book doesn't explored it much at all.
The character I enjoyed the most was Eric, until the parents dinner. There seemed to be two sides to him, the reasonable Daddy, and then he turns into that bloke who simply takes what he wants and Lacey gets short changed in my opinion with no reciprocal exchange of pleasure.
As I stated earlier, I have divided opinions on the book and even though it's the second read for me I still can't decide if I like it or not. On reflection, I am able to say I am unhappy with it, again, it's Eric's family thing, it's just too weird.

"The only people who have a right to say that anything we do is wrong is us. You and me."

I was super excited to ready this book! So this is my first Maren Smith book outside of the Black Light Series! With luscious scenes that make the windows fog up Maren brings us a sweet yet intense story of Eric and Lacey.

Lacey is a submissive whose previous Daddy Dom messed with her head to the point that she sees her Little in a negative light. She replies to a personal ad on a BDSM site requesting a submissive for 3 days. She is hoping that after two years of being more of a spectator in her previously kinky life that she can get herself back into it.

Eric placed that personal ad as his meddling mother won't leave him alone with her match making. He has been invited home for an event and he wanted to attend the event with someone. This will hopefully deter his mother's match making ways. His intention is to have this submissive help him for 3 days and to help her in return with a family gathering if she so chooses. After he meets Lacey and starts to get to know her, his inner Daddy Dom comes out and wants to help her get past her demons. Can they make it work?

Even though this book is definitely kinky, their is a precious link that is formed between Eric and Lacey! You can't help but adore how Eric encourages Lacey! The little spark of defiance we see from Lacey when she talks to Eric mom or what she spouts off to her mom gives a glimpse into Lacey's strength of will! Love the balance of sweet and sexy!

IHOP hmmm a Dom I could worship.

The story is pretty good but maybe just a little too much time is spent in the headspace of the little submissive. I really enjoyed the Daddy Dom's headspace but it was more stable and maybe less conflicting... If it wasn't for exploring so much of the thinking and maybe focusing on more interactions I think it would have been more entertaining... Unfortunately I skipped a lot of the thinking parts of the Little because it felt like it was giving me a headache. I did read all the conversations and the thoughts of the Dom, and I skimmed the Little's thoughts too... It was an interesting story especially the idea of an Ad for a temporary submissive. The first scene at the club. I kinda felt maybe another few conversations between the two before they turned up at her mom's... The part at her mom's was good if you skipped some of the part where she is in her head too much... The car rides are also a missing part I thought might have improved my enjoyment of the story. It was very interesting and entertaining the whole dinner at his parents... But it was a strange ending... I was expecting them to actually get to the point he actually did collar her but instead it was kinda just after an explanation of who or how she is and not a figurative state of being real and was that an after dinner basement dungeon play or was that the next days activities which he asked her to attend too?

"There it was in her voice, all the proof he needed."

There was so much to like about this book but the lack of a real end left me very disappointed. Eric was a great daddy Dom and Lacey touched my heart in so many ways. I loved the slow growth of their relationship, the way the got to know each other and begin to care. I was totally engaged and happily going along with them when, boom, the book stopped. It's like the last chapter is missing. What happened between Eric and his mother? Did she finally accept Lacey? Did Eric and Lacey fall in love? Did she finally put that prat, Roger, behind her? We also never got to see her get the chance to snuggle and be happy with Eric. She really wanted to be able to do that and it never happened. I would have also liked at least one scene where Lacey met Eric's friends in his dungeon. And for a book with a very explicit oral scene I am surprised we never got even one true bedroom scene.

I really do feel the book was left incomplete. Without a proper end I can't give it more than an average rating. It's too bad as it had had two great main characters and some incredibly interesting secondary characters. It deserved a real end and so did we.

I actually liked this a lot more than I thought I would. The beginning was a little odd and seemed a little stilted, but it got much better as things went on. Lacey is a sweet girl who has been beaten down emotionally by people her whole life. She has lost a bit of herself. She needs someone who can make her realize how special she is. Luckily she sees Eric's crazy ad and responds. What starts out as something temporary and simple quickly turns to more. Eric is patient, tender, and sweet, but he can be stern when he needs to be. He is exactly the kind of daddy that Lacey needs. The stuff at Lacey's moms was very emotional and powerful. I didn't care much for the stuff with Eric's family. It just seemed weird and came across as kind of creepy. I wish we could have gotten a little more info too. I would have liked an epilogue to get a glimpse of what their future looks like and maybe some sort of interaction with Roger.

Well written and with a great premise that kept me turning pages. The characters feel real and the author gives them situations that make them shine. I love Lacey and Eric but would have loved a little more backstory on his family life - it must have been crazy growing up in that family. We are given a taste of his family life at his family's dinner. Lacey and Eric were just coming to an understanding when the story ended. I would loved to have seen what their lives would have been like after this initial couple of days when they have gotten to know each other better. It would have been fabulous to see Lacey blossom under Eric's care. Even though I felt the story wasn't finished, it is still a great ready and really shows how caring Eric is and how broken Lacey felt until he came into her life. (I loved the ad!)

Eric was only looking for a submissive for three days but he never thought he'd meet someone like Lacey. Lacey saw the ad and answered even though her past experience has left her raw and somewhat insecure. Eric knows when he starts questioning Lacey that she had lied about a few things on the contract. However he knows she's a little the minute they start talking and she intrigues him. The connect on a level neither expected and went on with their plans to take each other to family functions. Will Eric realize that Lacey is the one he wants long term?

This is a great story about a Daddy Dom and a Little finding love. The chemistry between them is scorching hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Sweet and Sexy, Hot DD/lg

I totally enjoyed this story of Lacey who is a Little that's in denial. What she wants and what she will admit to are two different things. Eric advertises for a submissive for three days, to be his sub during a holiday dungeon party. Their meeting, learning a bit about each other and Eric's observation skills make this one hot, enjoyable story. Eric's first experience with Lacey as her Dom was surprising but he had his reasons and they were very good ones when you think about it. Both Lacey and Eric have unusual relationships with their families, but thay are what made them who they are today, not necessarily who they will be forever, but not all bad either. I would suggest anyone with an interest in BDSM and a sweet, considerate Dominant, read this book, you will love it!

Good up until the ending

At first I loved this story! My first venture in to this type of literature after 50 shades, and as I live the lifestyle myself, I was very happy with the real feel it had to it.

The proper safety precautions, the negotiation of terms. It was all very real and believable. Lacey was funny and vulnerable and believable as a character. The same can be said for Eric.

Where I feel the book lacks is in its later content. The final dinner almost feels laughable, and the ending feels rushed at best. Almost as if the author had started out strong and ran out of steam as the writing process unfolded. Something I can relate to as I bump in to the same problem whenever I try to write any lengthy fiction.

I enjoyed the red overall as it was a refreshing change from vanilla romance reads. I just wish it had ended with more depth.

It was so refreshing to read a book about how the dynamics work between a Daddy Dom and his submissive Little. Lacey has been pretty beat up by her last Daddy and after seeing an add for a Dom looking for a submissive she decided to answer. So much fun going through the steps that Lacey took to meet Eric and answer his questions right. Lacey didn't want to admit that she was really a little until Eric requested she tell the truth. This was a great book. Great characters and the steps Eric and Lacey go through to make sure everything is understood. Not a lot of sex through the book but just enough to keep you interested. I want to check out more books by Maren Smith. Highly recommend this book

A real submissive

Lacey's last Daddy Dom was horrible. He made her doubt herself and her feelings. She answers Eric's ad for a temporary submissive. They both need dates for family dinners. They're good together and Eric is what Lacey needs. They decide to make their relationship permanent.

I liked the characters and the scenes were good but I thought the ending was a little abrupt. I was hoping for one of the mentioned non-punishment scenes and wanted to see some resolution with their parents. I also wanted to see them being domestic. The ending dropped it from a 5 to a 4 or 3.5.

mmm

I really enjoyed the beginning of this story but as I continued to read it made me uncomfortable. It made me uncomfortable because it became apparent that Lacey was carrying a lot of emotional damage which needed to be dealt with by a trained therapist. I also think the interaction between Lacey and her mum was left hanging and this put me off because it felt incomplete. The ending I felt was rushed and to be quite frank it ruined the book. I really enjoy this authors work but this book did not live up to the standards of her other works. It was a book that I had to force myself to finish.

Special Daddy Dom book

There may be a sea of Dd/lg books out today but Maren Smith’s Daddy’s Little stands out from the crowd. I loved how Lacey and Eric come together. Eric was everything I imagine a great Daddy Dom would be, kind observant and strict about things that really matter. I just wanted to hug Lacey as she came to terms with her needs. I thought the insight into both their family relations helped the reader get a realistic picture of their lives.

Lacey answers an add from a Dom asking for a submissive for three days. The add was placed by Eric who was tired of his mother always setting him up with a partner for Christmas. Lacey is a submissive who wanted to be a little, but her previous Dom spent his time telling her that she wasn't a proper sub or little. This has left Lacey very insecure. Will Eric be able to help her?

This is a rather different Little story, but a nice read.

Lacey and Eric give us a great insight to Little Play and what that is within the BDSM world. First book I have read by Maren Smith but will not be the last. It is nice to know that someone in the lifestyle actually writes stories. You never know own if your getting real info but with this author you can.
You will enjoy the inter action between Lacey and Eric, it is what we all really want, trust, honesty and communication.

This was an interesting story. I am looking forward to reading more by this author.

Eric posts an ad looking for a submissive to help help get through the holidays with his family. Lacey answers it but is unsure that it is a good idea. She doesn't believe that she is submissive after her last relationship ends badly. Eric and Lacey agree to try it out. They have a connection but he needs to help her accept who she is first. Will they be able to work things out before seeing their families?

There is almost always another component to books about littlies. Lacey is a young woman a bit unsure of herself and really does not know who she is. She has been burned so when she meets Eric she is not sure how to handle everything. Eric sees right through her and calls her out and this starts a rather interesting relationship between them. There are some deeply emotional moments and a cute one too. It was a pretty decent book all in all. Yes, there is the heat, but the story was good. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Loved this story!

I’m a lover of BDSM stories, and truly enjoyed this one. It deals with a submissive, Lacey, who deep down knows she’s a little but her previous relationships made her question it. Then along comes Eric, a Dom and a Daddy Dom. Can he show her that her feelings are just? I loved the dynamics between these two and how this story wasn’t just about BDSM, it was so much more. It helps you to understand that no matter your preference in the lifestyle, as long as you are happy is all that matter. I highly recommend this hot, steamy read.
