DNF at 32%. I am just not feeling this. I knew I wouldn’t when I read the blurb, it’s just all a bit over the top, I’m all for kick ass heroines but the level of attitude was just kinda irritating. Also there was zero relationship development:

I'm so wowed right now after reading this book. It had absolutely everything thing I could have asked for and more in just one book... this book is seriously a treasured find.
Damnit there's a bit of every genre that I love all mix together to make this book awesome.
Such as the badass heroine, then MC romance, then Mob boss/crime family, then a badass Assassin in the mix that's straight up a psycho, and then but certainly not least is my absolute favorite genre which is RH Romance... I mean come on what's not to love about this book? The only thing that would've set it off to make it excellent in my opinion would've been if it had a bit of PNR in it... whew I'm just blown away...

I need more!
What an amazing first book in this wonderful new series! A.J Macey is an amazing writer and I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book! It turned out way better than I expected and I love the MFC! she was hardcore and didn't take anything from anyone! The guys each had their own personalities that brought this book A lot of HOT entertainment and sexy times! This book was action packed with a great storyline and I need that next book ASAP! I have a ton of questions I need answered and plus I could use some more of these 5 in my life! Definitely 5 star material!

Great FMC! I really liked this first book a lot. Especially Chase. His bubbly personality makes me laugh. The MC guys I'm not sold on yet. Maybe with time as series progresses?
I love how she handles things and solves problems. Going to start next book now.

Its fiction, I know. But this book is unrealistic and just fantastical. There were so many times I just wanted to roll my eyes.
Also, the relationships. I get that its fast burn but one minute they are sleeping together and the next they want a relationship? It never really felt like they had any sort of connection at all. So that was kind of lame.
But the killer here for me was the editing. It first chapter it starts out great. Then as we progress it gets worse and worse. And the flow is off in everything. Everything, including dialogue, starts to seem choppy. The dialogue also comes across as unnatural. Just awful to suffer through. I won't be reading more!

absolutely dnf at 10%, first time hating a book this soon, but you cant fuck the person sent to kill you after 3 minutes of chase. I cannot with this type of bullshit.

This was my first biker club story, but I liked it!
I especially liked Chase, the hyperactive puppy who sidelines as an assassin who is okay with killing people but yet is a vegetarian who refuses to wear animal products such as suede or leather because he thinks animals are too cute to eat or wear. His perpetually happy attitude was just awesome, although
The MC was an amazingly strong female lead and I love that she consistently took care of herself and didn't wait for others to do it for her. I liked the slow development between her and two of the members of her harem, as it was slightly more believable for them. The assassin and "Boss" just plain fell for her way too quickly.
I wonder how the rest of the gang will react to their harem in the next book?
I loved all the side plots with her father, the mob, the rival biker gang, and everything else. I can't wait to see how they all deal with her stalker in the next book, not to mention the rival gang!
I think I have read almost everything by this author at this point. I believe I have also rated everything I have read by this author with 4 or more stars. I look forward to more!

Decent start
A good start to this reverse harem trilogy but I’m not completely sold on it just yet. There’s action, s*x, bada$$ female lead, and some hot alpha males.... but I’m just not feeling the relationships between the main characters yet. I understand this isn’t a fairytale romance but other than the main characters working together towards the same goal, there’s not much relationship building between all of the characters, other than s*x. Other than chase and garret, there’s no real sustenance in the relationships. I liked it enough to continue to the next book but I’m definitely not “in love” with this trilogy yet. So, off to the next book I go.

I starting reading this book after it was recommended on one of my book groups.
I would say it's a fast burn RH, with a strong FMC. To be honest it felt rushed, the relationship between all of them doesn't really develop. One minute they're strangers, next one they have jumped into bed and next one they all want to be in a relationship. There is no real attachment and I just couldn't get into it.

Rival is book one in a fresh and wonderfully awesome MC series to add to your #whychoose reading list!
This first book introduces us to the main players (the white hats, the black hats, and the deliciously grey) in Macey's new world. Although there's no paranormal creatures of magic powers, Rival gives us oodles of sass, sexy men, leather, and dips into darkness that will grab the part of you that (not so secretly) wants to be a badass for at least a couple hundred pages.
Our FMC, Kiera, is a fierce woman who takes no prisoners (unless she needs a hostage) and suffers no damn fools. She's independent, kickass, and has a love for snark that just makes me girl-crush so hard. Her men are strong personalities with strength she needs to hold up against, and she holds her own. Anyone looking for a strong FMC needs look no further.
Brooks, Garrett, and Stone are the top men in the Aces MC- men who are not used to making apologies, who are used to getting their way, and who are always willing to protect what's theirs. I will say that some of their rides are starting off a bit smoother than others, and Macey does a great job at creating a different rapport between Kiera and each of her men. It's always easy to figure out whose mind you've dropped into even without the POV notes at the start of a new section. The three might be brothers through loyalty and choice, but they are DEFINITELY not the same.
Stone is our resident asshole, the one you're definitely going to get angry at most often. But he has some moments that will keep you from totally hardening your heart, and I think there's going to be some redemption coming for him as the series continues on.
Brooks is the smooth-talking president of the MC. He's seemingly easier going than the others, but there's a steel spine underneath the suave exterior, and I think as the conflict gets even messier we're going to see why he's the man in charge.
Garrett, Kiera's step-brother, is intense, but he has this overwhelming affection (and equal parts exasperation) towards Kiera that made me warm to him even when she's calling him an asshole.
My favorite, though, is Chase. Kiera's partner in crime is a disarmingly cheerful ex-assassin who will slide right into your affections with his cheekiness and bubbly affection for our fierce FMC.
Overall, Rival was enjoyable from start to finish. The characters pulled me in, and I love that I feel they're already changing and "connecting" with each other already- this is DEFINITELY not slow burn, ladies and gents. In the midst of everything else there are layers of conflict between the Aces and a rival MC, Kiera and a longstanding vendetta, and one of her men who isn't quite getting with the program. You're going to laugh, sit on the edge of your seat with tension, and face-palm (hey, Kiera and the guys aren't perfect), but you're also going to enjoy every word.

Kiera is my spirit animal for sure! This book is action packed, steamy as all hell, full of alpha men, assassins, bikers and thieves.
Kiera is a smokin' hot, tatted up, fiery attitude, female that we all want to be. Insert Chase, sexy assassin; Originally took a job to kill off the one and only "The Cat" thief but when eyes struck on the thief herself all of the rules changed. 6 months later, the duo is now paired up and ready for even bigger jobs. And when fate lands Kiera on the Aces Motorcycle clubs doorstep, she finds herself drawn to MC President, Brooks, MC enforcer Stone and MC VP and stepbrother Garrett. Its a whirlwind of lust, sex and action and I am here for it!
The insta-chemistry is real and I am ready to dive into both more of their relationship and see where this revenge they all seek takes them.
We get very little of what actually happened to Kiera in her past, but its clear something awful. Her father aka mob boss and King of Reno underground want her dead. And now, with the rival Motorcycle club being used as her fathers pawns, does Kiera and her guys have what it takes to exact there revenge and make things right?

Amazing
I'll start my saying that Kiera is my new best b****. She doesn't take crap from ANYone and she knows exactly what she wants and usually has some bada** plan to get it.
My little assassin, Chase, is literally everything. I love how batsh** crazy he is and I love his love for his little thief. ❤
Garret has my heart and soul. He is so protective of Kiera and cares for her with the truest type of love. I love their relationship so much!
Brooks and Stone...obviously I love them, but I need more of them in the next book to be able to really get a feel for them. All I know is they're hot and delicious and I need them. ❤

I wish i could give this book more than five stars because its soooo good. I bad***, Kick*** strong MFC who has a brilliant sideline job that runs through the whole & makes her a great all round character. Not to mention all the hot men surrounding her. Chase her sidekick who is a little bit mental (in the best possible way of course, lol) his one-liners are killer, lol. Add to him Garrett (her step brother), Stone & Brooks all part of a motorbike MC. It was a blindling good book from start to finish & im itching to get my hands on the next one

Loved this first book, looking forward to secrets being revealed but kinda dreading it at the same time as it hints at child abuse as the FMC is wanting to kill her mob boss Father for his treatment of her. Bikies respecting her as a strong woman makes a nice change to that genre and hot sexy times are weaves throughout the book. I really enjoyed this read and Kitty’s strength resonates and I’m looking forward to the next book

Loved everything about this. I adore highly capable female leads and Kiera is certainly one. Especially as she manages to thwart an assassin and get him to fall in love with her straight away. Chase is nuts really and I know he's got an amazing back story
Definitely my favourite of the men.
I'm really looking forward to book 2 so we can see why Kiera is motivated the way she is.

The blurb for this story is right on. Badass MC with smokin hot guys, yes please! The story and characters are well developed. I can't wait to learn more of all the characters back stories as the series progresses. Looking forward to book 2.

Payback is a b**ch and Kiera has been planning her revenge since she was only 7 years old. At 15, she gained fame as a notorious thief, The Cat. At 21, a local mob boss sent an assassin after her but within hours, he became her little assassin. Now at 22, the mob boss has joined forces with Kiera's longtime stalker and a 1% MC Club to take her out. But Kiera has the backing of her own MC when she won the hearts of their President, VP, and Enforcer. It's time for war.
Not a bad start. Was it over the top? Unrealistic? Too insta at times? Sure. Was it fun? Sexy? Entertaining? Absolutely. I enjoyed it immensely. I love Kiera in action. I love her thieving, her mouth, her unapologetic attitude. I love Chase's goofiness. I liked Garrett and Brook's attraction and passion for her. I look forward to meeting the protective side of Stone I know is there. I did like his flashes of appreciation for her skill level but his constant snark was not attractive. I look forward to reading book two. I hope unnecessary plot holes (ie: how did an Alloy King get past her security and then into her palm-scanner secret room?)

I'm saying I read it but I really dnf'd almost all the way through but I don't know why.
I mean I kind of do but I also I don't.
For the first, quite a bit of this book it just draws you in and it is so good. The characters are really good. Plot is good. The development is good. There's nothing bad happening
And then as you go on like a rescue mission here a rescue mission there a robbery here a murder there. There's not a lot of like opposition or like tension. She just keeps solving problems. Super easy.
And then I just saw myself not reading it and anytime I tried to go back to reading it I just couldn't get back into it which is really frustrating because I liked all the characters but there was just something about it that I just couldn't f****** get into.
And I think you too. It's because I don't see how there could be two more books. Like it already feels like super wrapped up kind of. I mean I was only about 80% of the way through and I can see them like finishing off her dad already.

And then I just saw myself not reading it and anytime I tried to go back to reading it I just couldn't get back into it which is really frustrating because I liked all the characters but there was just something about it that I just couldn't f****** get into.
And I think you too. It's because I don't see how there could be two more books. Like it already feels like super wrapped up kind of. I mean I was only about 80% of the way through and I can see them like finishing off her dad already.
Don't know. I just was n't super into it. I guess which kind of sucks cuz I was and then I wasn't and I don't know. Maybe I'm in some kind of weird f***** up reading slump.

This was an enjoyable read! I really liked Kiera, she was a badass and exactly what I want from a FMC in this scenario. Her guys are all really cool too, I especially love Chase. Some of it was a bit of instalove, but what can ya do?
Some of the action does go by really quick, and I have to wonder how she’s always able to get out of sticky situations when it almost seems impossible (the HumVee). I also don’t know how Boss (cannot for the life of me remember his real name), is the actual MC boss, because that part almost seemed skimmed over. This is also all in the matter of less than 3 weeks?
I had this book checked out on KU for over a month and today decided to read it and finished it, only to find out that neither it or the rest of the series is on KU :( I’ll finish the series eventually, as it is captivating.

Great start to a series.
Kiera is a kickn’ FMC, and she can’t seem to stop collecting such a wide group of guys. Her RH is very well rounded with slightly crazy guys: the assassin Chase, the MC boss Brooks, the Enforcer Stone, and the warden/stepbrother Garrett. All of them get more intriguing as the story goes along. But Kiera is out for revenge and the side job of making those pay as The Cat (the notorious thief in the underground world). This series has grit and the right amount of darkness. TW/18+ 4.25/ stars

Kiera is the famous thief The Cat. When the local MC to whom her step-brother belongs to is in need of help and offer the job to Kiera, she accepts but she didn't count on falling for her step-brother and his 2 friends. Moreover, her ex-assassin sidekick is on the warpath to get Kiera her own harem. When the interests of the MC and Kiera intertwine, Kiera needs to decide what's worth more for her.
I thought it was a really interesting story, and I loved how strong and independent Kiera was, but I felt like the sparks between her and her love interests were missing.

It's been a while since I read an MC and yes...so good! Has all things I like. Badass FMC sassy and kicks butt. She's a thief and the MC needs her skills. She has her own assain Chase an odd character that I LOVE! 🌶🔥💯❤️🔫💥 so glad it's a series!

Thank god Keira was a strong fmc, I was kinda cringing and the repeated attacks thinking she might become a damsel but I loved that she was doing all the rescuing ^_^ the harem are kinda boring except for the assassin Chase.

This book was freaking awesome! The story keeps you interested, the love interests are hott, and the FMC is a badass! What more could you ask for ?! Read this book you won’t regret it!!!
