Secrets don’t stay buried forever.

Sophie wants nothing more than for her life to get back to normal. Or a new normal, anyway. But the secrets aren’t done unraveling and the more Sophie learns, the more she realizes that her knowledge only scratches the surface. Even as she continues to delve further into the past, she can't help wondering if the price for her knowledge is too great...

Meanwhile, her estranged mother, Carly, is wreaking havoc, dealing her own form of justice, and her friends Lena and Aidan are wrestling with their own personal demons. Trouble is brewing in the elemental community, pitting the strong against the weak. Everything is going to hell, and Sophie feels powerless to stop it.

But when Carly’s reckless actions fracture the core of the elemental world in a way that it can never be fixed, Sophie must decide who she is and what she stands for.

I was given this book by the author free of charge for an honest review.

I was really looking forward to reading this book after the last one.....
I found the book didn't really wow me as much as the previous two. I felt that this was more a filler book explaining more in depth about all the characters and their histories, which actually made me start questioning the intentions of some characters I think I hadn't really noticed before, I just found the book a bit slow. Don't get me wrong the ending turned it around and I am all in for the next one, this book while maybe slow has opened up the series to alot of anticipation for next one, DON'T SKIP IT IF YOU WANT TO READ THE SERIES!!

The action continues with a couple big reveals. Sophie and Aidan's relationship moves forward. Carly is mainly in the background causing trouble this time around. Ending has a big change coming to the group.

more 3.5-4 stars for me
This is a quickie review. I felt this one had that sophomore book slump but it happened in book three and not book 2.

Sophie is still trying to deal with her growing powers and wonky relationship with Aidan. Lena is not dealing well with what happened to her and she is basically now a hermit. Sophie’s mom Carly is still awesome and doing some really crazy things to make her point. You want to hate her but you can’t because her reasoning makes sense in a way as to why she does what she does. Is she violent? yes but with reason. Which is scary because she has reason. There is a compass for her violence. Sophie’s adopted family is still weary of her and not really trusting of her after what she did to find Lena. All this is happening and you don’t feel much going forward. Not until the ending. The ending really has you sit up and go whoa. Just whoa...

So the book is good but the slump book in terms of action, decisiveness in situations and relationships. Sophie is training with her magic and getting stronger. Lena is lost in herself and afraid of who she is. Carly is stirring up the cauldron and Aidan is Aidan. Does the story draw you in? Yes but not like the first two books did. The characters to me are growing and we aren’t really getting to see this in a fast paced setting so it feels like the story is going very slow when it isn’t. I know it isn’t but if feels that way with how things go and are evolving. That ending though wow just wow.

This book is good, I still enjoyed the 2nd book the best, but this one still has suspense and mystery. Sophie wishes life would go back to normal for everyone, but nothing has been the same. Lena was recued but she is not the same. Aidan is struggling, but still protecting her. Carly and Aidan's mom are still causing problems. Now what will she do? Can she accept what her mother is doing? Can they find out what the EA is really doing? Can they find the other kidnapped children? Will Aidan ever show his true feelings for her? What will the world do if they find out about the elementals? I received a free copy for my honest review.

I volunteered to read an Advanced Reader Copy of the book and to submit an honest review.

In Unleashed, Sophie's powers are strengthening more and more while she and Aidan become closer and closer.

Sophie, her foster family, and Aidan and his foster family know that their futures as Elementals are probably at risk if the Council, the rogue groups and/or Carly (Sophie's biological mother) keep conducting experiments.

Unleashed is packed full of twists and turns that make me excited to see what happens to everyone in the next book.
definitely a must read.

With Aidan and Sophie moving forward with their relationship it gets more exciting. But this time with get the unexpected and twists and turns that keep you guessing what’s going to happen next. You find out more about the past but more questions about what’s the future. Can’t wait for the next book! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Unleashed

Thrilling and unpredictable! I enjoyed the many twists and turns this book took. I never knew what was going to happen. Learning more about the characters and the elementals added to more questions I can’t wait to uncover in the next book.
