Zaria Watson has no one to depend on but her brother, Jason. Once he goes to prison, she's left, lost and alone. Due to her mother's lack of love and selfish ways, Zaria falls in the arms of someone that means her no good. Not a stranger to mistreatment, Zaria recognizes game and quickly turns from the shy, innocent teen to a slick, promiscuous young woman. Zaria quickly learns to use men for what she wants, without catching feelings. That all changes when she meets Desmond Holmes and he becomes her refuge. Desmond has enough on his plate while dealing with his drama filled girlfriend, their young son, and hustling hard to get out the game. His only interest is his family and making money. Desmond will do almost anything for his right hand man Jason, and when he asks him to look out for his sister Zaria, he says yes with no questions. A small task quickly turns into a long, rocky journey, that he isn't ready for. Rescuing Zaria on many occasions, lines are crossed that shouldn't have been. Will Desmond fall for Zaria's beauty and charm or will he stay loyal to his lady and friend?
Yeah Nya did her dirt but Desmond chose to forgive her and then turned around and messed with Zaria every chance he got. Unpopular opinion Nya deserved better and Zaria can kick rocks ole HOE behind. Desmond he laid the foundation of how Nya ended up and constantly played on her feelings for him. I don't usually write reviews but this book truly pissed me off Desmond is not book BAE material at all and Jason should have beat his ass! They both was wrong he might have went overboard with name calling his feelings were very valid.
OMFG!!!! This book took me through some things. When I tell you Zaria was driving me up the dang wall. She was so young and dumb, I wanted to shake some sense into her. Her mom wasn’t spit, she definitely needed her ass beat. Desmond drove me nuts with his back and forth between Zaria and Nya, like come on man get it together. I want Zaria to move on so bad, but she was just young and in love. It’s so much to say but I’m glad that Zaria got her happy ending she definitely deserved it.
Now normally I don’t condone home-wrecking but complex characters sometimes go through things and life has circumstances that make us change our mindsets. This book certainly did that.
I was Team Zaria but she still needs to learn some things about life! It was a good book from start to finish that went from the beginning. Had me connected from the start! Would love to read more about Ty and Lucci!
This was a very thorough standalone. I literally read it all day entranced and anxious to see how it was going to end up. I was truly torn as Desmond went back and forth!
Girlllllll Zaria stressed me tf out we be so naive when we in love it’s crazy at first I disliked Desmond bad but they only do what we allow I knew nya was going to snap I thank god though how it turned out! This was a good ass book
I admit, at first I didn’t like the turn of events. It was a LONG book. The end scared me for a second. Zaria had too big of heart, but I’m glad she wasn’t killed off. Good story.
This author did her thing. It was long for a standalone but that was fine because it kept my interest. The chemistry and love between Desmond and Zaria was on point. I can’t wait to read more from this author
I really enjoyed this lengthy read. I felt like Demond was so selfish because of his ways a lot of mess happened. He didn’t deserve any of them . I’m glad that Zaira got her happy ending. 4 1/2*
I took a chance on this one. I read urban books… but baby? This one took the cake! It was full of drama! Couples are young adults trying to find their way. It was a long read but I was invested 😆
