She was meant to be mine—I knew it the moment we met. Too bad I’m about to kidnap her.

Mason Hughes

As a decorated CIA agent, I know better than to kidnap a former colleague’s sister and hold her hostage on a ship in the middle of the ocean. The agency tends to frown on that sort of behavior. But desperate times call for desperate measures; I have my reasons, and they’re good ones. I’ll be forgiven with a slap to the wrist—at least for that part of the mission.

Until I tie Reagan Jones up and can’t resist her when she presses her tight little body against mine. That’s probably not so forgivable.

Then there’s the issue of falling in love with her and refusing to let her go once the mission is over. Definitely not forgivable.

I have no idea what I’m thinking—we can’t be together; it’s not safe for her. I’m a spy, and she’s a feisty art instructor from Fargo. Not exactly the perfect match.

Or is it?

USA Today and Amazon best-selling author, Tess Summers is a former business woman and teacher who always loved writing but never seemed to have time to sit down and write a short story, let alone a novel. Now battling MS, her life changed dramatically, and she has finally slowed down enough to start writing all the stories she'd been wanting to tell, including the fun and sexy ones! Married over twenty-five years with three grown children, Tess is a former dog foster mom who ended up failing and adopting them instead. She and her husband (and their six dogs) split their time between the desert of Arizona and the lakes of Michigan, so she's always in a climate that's not too hot and not too cold, but just right!

After everything that happened with her sister, Reagan still didn't follow the safety mantra, that's how she was kidnapped by Mason, the same guy who took her sister, only this time he wanted Reagan as collateral to get Kennedy to help him rescue his brother. Now Mason had Reagan what was he going to do with her, with danger ahead can he risk all their lives on a fling. I found by reading the first book it was a smooth continuation, with a sharp storyline and lots of love.

Mason and Reagan do not meet under the usual circumstances, yet they cannot deny the explosive chemistry between them. This is a well written story, which has suspense, and is a steamy instant love story. I was hooked and intrigued throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read more form this talented author, whose work I recommend for all.

Combustion: Agents of Ensenado Book 2

Tess Summers has taken the adventure and passion in Book 1 of Agents of Ensenado and upped the game for all the players. We have a kidnapping right away, two characters that don’t know each other but feel the pull of attraction almost immediately. Add to that one of them is a rogue agent who just wants to do what any brother would do, which is rescue his brother who is being held by the Columbian Cartel. Throw in some steamy scenes (just when I thought my iPad had cooled down from book 1, book 2 took steam to a whole new level.

CIA extraction agent Mason Hughes kidnaps Regan Jones, sister to Kennedy (now Bella) Guzman. His brother has been left hanging in Columbia by the CIA, who will now acknowledge his operation to rescue a woman from the Columbian cartels human trafficking operation. The only person he can trust now is Bella, CIA fixer Jacob Scott and himself.

Whisking Regan away on a CIA yacht, he has time to learn more about Regan, who he promises he has no intention of hurting. What he ends up having intentions for is some very very hot sex on the way to Columbia.

Tess Summers mixes both sexual tension, with rescues, car chases, shootouts and hospitals along the way allowing Mason think that maybe it is time to leave the CIA, open the restaurant he has always thought about opening and living the rest of his life with Art teacher Regan Jones. Just when it looks like his former CIA life may not catch up with him, he is forced into making the only decision he has to protect Regan.

Apparently CIA agents work hard and love hard. Thanks Tess Summers from hitting Book 2 out of the ballpark, looking forward to Book 3.

5 ++++ Stars Spy who fell madly in love
This book had everything that lights my fire. I loved it. Mason Hughes is a no-nonsense CIA agent with years of brutal experience and has the scars to show for those dangerous missions. Mason’s current mission is personal though, his younger brother Marcus, also CIA, was captured after ignoring orders, choosing to rescue his girl. The CIA abandons Marcus but Mason is building a rescue team. This secret team will include other agents and hopefully the “presumed dead” ex-CIA agent Kennedy Jones, now Bella Guzman (from book 1-Infernio) who’s living her new life in Ensenada.
Since Mason tried to kill Agent Kennedy last year, Mason figures he’ll have to force her to help him…so he kidnaps Kennedy’s sister Reagan…And falls head-over-heels in love. So does Reagan, even when she wakes to find she’s, his hostage.
Reagan is a beautiful, sweet “down to earth” lady. She’s an art teacher in small-town Fargo, North Dakota who knows nothing about the CIA, spies, or drug cartels but she’s now in the middle of it. Reagan believes Mason won’t hurt her and she is right. “Combustion” is so full of action you can’t put the book down. Mason and Reagan are wonderful, good people who fall madly in “forever love”. Mason is so tender with Reagan(swoon). There are lots more great characters in this story. “Combustion” can be a stand-alone story, but I strongly suggest you start at the beginning of Ensenada Heat. Me, I’m on to the next story but this will be a re-read in the future. Linda

This was my first book by Tess Summers! When I first started the book I wasn't sure if this was going to be for me because this book is a bit longer than ones that I typically read. But the further along I read the more intense the characters got! Tess does a wonderful job of of developing Reagan and Mason as individuals and as a couple.

Reagan is an art instructor visiting her sister in Mexico when she is abducted as leverage to get to her sister. She is sassy, irritated, but no expecting to fall for her abductor. Can she really love her abductor who also happens to be a spy?

Mason is a spy trying to save his brother's life. He needs help and he know exactly who can help him but the only way to get to her is through her sister. He tries to keep his emotions turned off when her is with her but he finds himself liking Reagan more and more!

The suspense of this story is one of the things that drew me in and kept me going! There are multiple steamy scenes that have you sweating! I now have to go back and read the first book, Inferno, in the series and can't wait to see what is in store for this series next! Stunning job Tess!

I just finished reading Combustion and I enjoyed it. I didn't realize that if was the second book in a series and had no problems that I had not read it. Reagan Jones is in Mexico for her sister's baby's christening. When she hops into the limo to take her to the church, she doesn't recognize the driver but figures that it's no big deal right? Wrong! The driver is CIA operative Mason Hughes and he needs Reagan's sister's help. Kennedy now known as Bella is a former operative and with her contacts, she can help him find his brother that has been captured. Kennedy has left the business and the only thing to motivate her to help is taking someone she loves, her sister Reagan. Mason has one objective, save his brother and return his captive. He cannot fall for this woman no matter how distracting she is! This story is an enemies to lovers that is low on angst and high on laughs. It's told from dual POV and I enjoyed it,. It's that kind of book that you want to read when you're relaxing on a beach and want to escape reality for a few hours. Enjoy!

Mason is the CIA operative sent in the previous book to kill former CIA operative Kennedy. When his brother is taken by a Colombian cartel, he kidnaps her younger sister Reagan to coerce Kennedy to help him. He didn't count on falling in love with Reagan who is equally smitten with him despite how they met. After rescuing his brother, Mason wants to retire and be with Reagan. Of course, the agency has one last assignment before they'll let him go and it goes south. It seems a bit much that all these operatives fall in love and have to figure out how/whether to live under the radar with their loves. While not as good as the first book, you'll root for them to get their happy ending. As with the first book, there are plenty of explicit love scenes (as it should in my opinion) but if that's not your cup of tea steer clear. Next up is the second chance romance for Jacob former operative and current fixer.

What an absolute page-turner by author, Tess Summers, I read the entire book in one sitting because I couldn't put it down. Combustion is book two in the Ensenada Heat series but can quite happily be read as a stand-alone story. Mason and Reagen don't exactly meet under the most normal of circumstances but things start to change when Mason realises he has the hots for Reagen. I absolutely adored Reagen, she is sassy as hell and the most adorable character, and Mason, well he's just hot!

Tess Summers is a new author for me, but one I will definitely be going back to. Her story and characters are well structured and well written. It was a pleasure to be offered the opportunity to read this story.

So good I couldn't put down! Mason Hughes meets the love of his life in a non-traditional way. He kidnaps her! As a CIA agent he has to kidnap Reagan to bring her sister Kennedy a former CIA agent out to help him on a personal mission. Each day that passes he knows Reagan is "The one." But in his line of work it wouldn't be fair to her for being away months on end with no contact. He doesn't want that for her and neither does her sister. But maybe, just maybe, he could settle down and give her the life she deserves. Can he turn his back on everything he has ever known for a chance at love and a new life? Read and find out. You won't regret it!

This is book two in the Ensenada Heat series. This one is no different from the first in that we get to know more amazing characters along with a fantastically written story. There is also no shortage of character layers and intrigue in this book either with Mason and Reegan. You often think you will meet 'your other half' through a friend or even at a bar but not these two. Mason is Reegan's kidnapper. This can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading Inferno, it will just give a little more on some of the comments in this book. I am hooked on this series and can't wait to read more.

Combustion takes off right where Inferno Ensenada Heat Book One ended: Reagan Jones is kidnapped by CIA agent Mason Hughes to coerce her sister Kennedy in coming out of hiding to help him find his undercover brother who the CIA washed its hands of.
What Mason doesn't count on is to fall for the sassy Reagan.
Tess Summers packs so much into a relatively short book taking the reader on an emotional roller-coaster of drama, kidnappings, romance, rescue missions, and steam... so much steam!
The 2 books in this series were my first reads by her but definitely won't be my last.

I read this straight after the first book in the series, although they are different main characters they are connected. This book can be read as a stand alone although I’m not sure why you would want to read it that way when Inferno was so brilliant! The author once again writes a great plot and has wonderful characters that should hate each other but end up falling for each other. This makes their story and their romance dangerous and steamy. Lots of twists and turns to make the story exciting and full of suspense to make it a page turner, it’s a wonderful story and very well written.

Reagan teaches art and is visiting her sister, Kennedy in Mexico. Kennedy's baby is being christened. But on her way to the church Reagan is kidnapped. Mason works for the CIA and needs Reagan's sister's help. The only way he can get to Kennedy is to take a family member - Reagan. Mason is desperate to find his brother who is missing. But it is backfiring on him since he is attracted to his captive! Can these two have a relationship given the weird way they met? Good story with a mystery and romance.

Combustion by Tess Summers is book two in the Ensanada Heat series. Mason is a CIA operative who will do anything to save his brother…..even kidnap Kennedy’s sister to ensure her help with the rescue. But, Reagan captures his heart in the process.

This one was even better than the first book! Reagan is different from Kennedy, but still has that same spunk, which is fun! And I really liked Mason. They have so much chemistry. There was a lot of suspense and intrigue in this. Plus a ton of steam! I'm a sucker for a love story where the couple had all the odds against them and has to fight those odds and figure out how to be together, because they cannot live without!

This is a action pack,Cinderella story pack in one! Mason and Regan fell in love so fast and stayed in loved even after he had to leave and play dead,Regan never gave up but it was hard and she almost was going to give Ric a chance but she still cared for Mason so much and didn't think he was dead.Every turn out ok and Mason had to fake his death and was able to come back to Regan in time maybe more body injuries but alive and met the man of the house Walter the dog!

Page turner!
Combustion was such a sexy and exciting book, I loved it! Mason and Reagan are sweet and earnest in their love at first sight passion. Although they meet under the most unusual circumstances, they quickly realize there is more than just fireworks holding them together. Combustion is book two in the Ensenada Heat series, but Ms Summers gives great background and this could be read as a stand alone.

This book is absolutely fantastic and I had so much fun reading it! It is a wild ride that is action-packed with suspense, humour, witty banter, and intrigue. The characters are likeable and strong; the chemistry between them is intense and potent; and the sex scenes are explosive! A well written, well-developed, fast pace page-turner guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat. Great book!

This chick is really calm for being drugged and kidnapped by the guy who attempted to off her sister. But he’s hot so it must be ok?
I’m pretty sure the author did next to no research on how the cia operates. This book is pure fantasy with no foothold in reality whatsoever. If you are a fan of Jack Ryan or Homeland, with well researched, fact based suspense about CIA operatives, this book is not for you.

This was a really good story and very well written. I have not read the first book, but there was enough backstory given, so I didn’t feel like I needed to. I will be reading it next! I don’t want to give any spoilers, so I will just say I loved the H & h. Great chemistry!!
