Rate this book
WHEN YOU MOVE HEAVEN AND EARTH TO GET WHAT YOU WANT, BE PREPARED FOR ALL HELL TO BREAK LOOSE!
Val Timmons thought she found her knight in shining armor. But after marrying Kurt, she realizes she landed a rusty tin man instead. Her biological clock is ticking, but Kurt keeps hitting the snooze button. Then his pregnant mistress shows up on their doorstep, sounding a wake-up call that no one can ignore.
Making things more complicated, Val has found a way—without her husband’s cooperation—to conceive the baby she feels she deserves. All this takes place while Kurt is buying himself time to right some other wrongs before they come to light and cause him to lose his wife altogether.
But pointing the finger at Kurt’s mistakes is not a luxury Val can afford. She also has something to hide.
In the end, they will both learn one valuable lesson: there’s no right way to do a wrong thing.

The author jumped right into it in the very beginning of the story. Valencia & Kurt, married with no kids are arguing about kids. He doesn’t want them and she’s held out for as long as she could. She feels like if she waits any longer it’ll be too late. Things take a turn for the worst because Kurt has been unfaithful & the mistress is pregnant! Valencia has to lean on her twin brother & uncle for support throughout the whole ordeal as her mom (Francesca) had never really been in her life. Eventually a chance encounter changes things for everyone involved.
I really enjoyed the story & there were no dull moments. The characters are were developed & the story flowed well. I didn’t even see any editing issues. I definitely recommend this read.

Wrong or Right?

I was gifted this book for my honest review.
Where do I begin…drama, confusion, trust funds, rape, cussing, fussing, father or father in law, a side chick ,memory loss and to top it all off……a fight in the church parking lot. There is just no right way, to do wrong.

Val and Kurt are going through a rough patch in their marriage. Kurt worst nightmare shows up at the house, and the pregnancy tears them further apart. Some family members do not want them together. Kurt never measures up to Val's first love who died on a mission trip 11 years ago. Kurt is like a "losing scratch-off ticket."

Dwayne is Val's twin brother who is her protector and Uncle Bubba steals the show with his sense of humor and antics. Francesa, Val and Dwayne's mother, has a questionable past that blocks her relationship with her children. Melva is a church-going woman and learned about family secrets while miserable Foster thinks that his lottery winnings can buy him a peace of mind.

Pregnancy? Whitley? Matius? Caleb? Sister? Learn how they are all connected. GREAT READ!

After being married for 2 years, Kurt and Valencia Timmons are expecting a child, but what Val is just finding out is that Kurt’s Mistress is also having a baby in the next few months. And after 11 years, Val still has memories of her first Husband, Hunter, who’s unexpected death in Indonesia made it difficult to open her heart. But Kurt’s multiple lies and secrets are the cause of the breakdown of their marriage, and Val wonder’s if she’ll ever be happy.

Matius is on his way to be the next village Chief in a small village in Indonesia, and with Madra, the current chief’s daughter by his side, nothing will be better. But Matius keeps having dreams about parts of his past, which was stolen from his memory years ago, which includes a ‘shadow woman’ someone he loves, but is unable to remember what she means to him. His heart is now allowing him to move forward with Madra, until he is able to reconcile his past with the shadow woman.

With colorful and adoring characters like Dwayne, Melva, and Uncle Bubba ( who proves just because there’s snow on the roof doesn’t mean there isn’t a fire in the furnace) and Villans like Whitley and Foster (who personally needs to be castrated and placed under the jail) makes this read one of the most enjoyable and cleanest reads to date and that will take you on an enjoyable ride, you won’t want to get off.

True Love Never Fails & Miracles Do Happen

Engaging and action-packed from beginning to end. After years apart and life’s unexpected turns, Val got a second chance at love with her first husband Hunter. She thought he had perished on a medical saving trip to a remote village in Indonesia, although his body was never found. There’s a rollercoaster of revelations and twists throughout the story that keeps the reader turning its pages. Highly recommend this book…Happy Reading!

It took a minute

It took a few minutes to get in tune with this authors writing style. The funny dialect and conversations were side splitting. The gist of the story was a man cheated on his wife, and wanted to divorce her for more money. Her family was to die for hilarious. I'll need to try another book and see what other goodies I can find in her catalog.

The secrets one keeps will always come to light

This story was riddled with secrets. Everyone had something they were hiding. Valencia Timmons' husband Kurt was hiding the fact that he'd gotten another woman pregnant. Now his own wife was pregnant and he did not want children now and wanted her to abort the baby. Kurt was also hiding other secrets as was his stepfather Foster Timmonds. His mother Melva did not know what kind of monster he was married to. She was the only character other than Val's brother Dwayne, not harboring secrets. Even Kurt's mistress Whitley was hiding a secret. Now she was an evil piece of work who got just what she deserved for being a selfish beotch.

Valencia struggled to get her life together after the death of her first husband Hunter Jamal Pierce, on a medical mission in Indonesia. They were on the verge of having embryos implanted when he was called away. She'd been grieving for him for eight years before she allowed Kurt into her life. Feeling that she was getting older and running out of her bio clock time she got pregnant without Kurt's approval. She almost had her secret revealed when she threatened a miscarriage, but that Uncle, Paul Burgess aka Bubba, heard enough to figure out Val's secret.

With all of the upheaval and stress in Val's life surrounding her husband Kurt, she came to the realization that she never really got over Hunter's death and was still very much in love with him. She just knew that her life would be different and full of happiness and joy had he not died. Kurt could not hold a candle to Hunter and she was ready to cut him loose.

Thousands of miles on the other side of the world was a giant of a man suffering from amnesia and haunted by the dreams of a shadow woman. He'd brought so much help and care to the life of the people that saved him and they were about to make a giant step for the benefit of their village and his life. But, he could not get the shadow woman out of his mind until a chance meeting brought everything back for him.

Janice wrote a story that was full of intrigue and mystery. I kind of figured out what was going to happen but did not see fully about Francesca Harper, Val and Dwayne's mother's, reasons for her behavior was a traumatic event. No child should have to suffer what she went through but the predator got his in the end. So did Whitley Moore. I enjoyed reading the funny antics of Uncle Bubba. He brought some needed comic relief when the storyline was getting rough. It was great reading that everyone got just what they needed and deserved, including Val and Matius. This story was riddled with secrets. Everyone had something they were hiding. Good read

Uncle Bubba was definitely the stand out character in this book. Besides the hilarity he provided, I loved that he was a praying man and would do anything to support and protect those he loved. Kurt and Val's marriage was doomed from the beginning with all the trust issues. I wanted to skip those chapters that occurred in Indonesia but then I predicted the significance and was anxious to see if i was right. Good read, well written and recommended.

This story opened with a bang that made me wonder how things would work out. Picture what happens when a man’s pregnant mistress shows up at his matrimonial home. Then, things get worse because the wife is also pregnant, which doesn’t thrill her husband. The way she gets pregnant in unorthodox, but I couldn’t help rooting for Val based on Kurt’s treatment of her.

My favourite character in this book is the ‘lost’ person, who doesn’t feature heavily in the upheaval that happens around Val. I wondered how the author was going to tie all the story threads together in a believable and satisfying way. She managed to do that.

No Right Way To Do A Wrong Thing is a good lesson in how not to do things, no matter how badly we want them. There’s also the matter of karma biting us in the butt when we least expect it. Also, it shows the value of family support, although there are instances where I couldn’t help thinking that family can also be the worst thing that happens to us.

The plot twists kept me entertained and hoping things would turn out well for my favourite character, and I’m happy they did!

Emotional roller coaster

This book was an emotional roller coaster. Shock, anger, sadness, happiness, and all of those all over again. It shows how messy families and relationships can be. I loved how it bounces between characters and stories. It’s a little predictable, but in the way that keeps you reading because you want to feel what you already know is going to happen in the end. Loved it!

I loved it!

I don't know where to begin with my review of this book. It was well-written, fast-paced, the characters were well-developed and I enjoyed every page. I especially loved Uncle Bubba's character. This was the first book I read by this author but it won't be my last.

Dwayne, Uncle Bubba and Val are keys in this great read. Find out how life can change in an instant. Dwayne and Val uncover a truth that forever changes their lives. Someone Val thought she had lost forever returns after 11 years.
Great read that helped me better understand the King of Lawndale..
