This is such a wonderful series. The world building is so casually written into the story that I expect to see gremlins or mermaids the next time I leave my house.
Magdon utilizes the inter species relationship to speak about important issues in a caring and entertaining way. In Riley and Izzy we easily see parts of ourselves and our pasts. This is pure genius on Magdon’s part well worth tge read.

3.75 stars. A fun and light read. This was a surprise, not a dark and gritty book about vampires and werewolves, but a cute romance set in a world where humans and all species and creatures you can think about live together and go about their ordinary lives, having ordinary (and less ordinary) problems.

The romance builds up nicely starting at insta-like/lust and slowly developing into love. Riley and Izzy have to overcome the necessary insecurities and hurdles, but there is no drama or angst. As might be expected from Magdon, there is much diversity in this book, and I don’t mean all the different species :-) What I enjoyed highly was that this book features a coming out story, which is not very uncommon in f/f fiction, but this was not the “standard” experimenting and coming out story of sexual identity, but that of gender identity. I haven't read too many books dealing with this, so this was refreshing.

This is a collection of ten short stories (featuring the same couple) that forms one long story. I really enjoyed the story but the short story format didn’t work very well for me. Each short story had a specific buildup with a main theme and one or two sex scenes (that were hot and had plenty of variety), but this short story/chapter structure became a bit repetitive and I think I would have liked it more if it had been one long story. This is my preference though and I think if you enjoy reading short stories or like to read a book in small parts, you might actually see this as a positive point.

A cute, funny and steamy romance that is just a bit different from the norm :-)

This was amazing. Modern - and really totally normal seeming - romance between a vampire and a werewolf. Unlike many supernatural stories, this isn't sci-fi or dark. Just two individuals finding each other and finding love.

Celebration of diversity and the gradual path of self-discovery. Werewolf Riley is growing Into a nonbinary identity as the story progresses, and their partner is totally supportive. Author switched to they/them narration in keeping with that arc. Excellent!!

4.5 - Cute, fluffy, and sexy romantic paranormal pairing.

I absolutely adored the couple in this book! Riley Evans is sweet and adorable, a swell as cute and shy. Being from rural Georgia, she's also just a wee bit naïve in New York City. On the other hand, Isabeau “Izzy” LaCour is bold, a little jaded, and she hides her depression with a perpetually upbeat personality. While very different people, Riley and Izzy are well matched as a couple.

Fur and Fangs is a sweet story about what happens when two people meet who are good for each other. This isn’t a fast-paced romp, nor some action-filled adventure. I loved was the fact that this book (or collection) was nothing more than a sweet fantasy romance with little to no angst. I’m not a fan of drawn-out drama, breakups for the sake of artificial conflict, or other such things. Just give me a good romance with character development, hot sex, and a steady progression of the relationship and I'm happy. And the steamy sex...woo, this has definitely got it scattered throughout!

One thing I admire about the books I've read by Rae D. Magdon is the sheer diversity of characters. Magdon builds this queer community and doesn’t just rest there. With the community we get their thoughts and feelings, their take on what it’s like to be queer in variety of different flavors. And if you want something a little softer, a lot cuter, and a wee bit off the beaten track, read about Riley and Izzy. This one’s got the #Feel and #Discuss tags.

A compilation of steamy short stories featuring a vampire and werewolf sapphic couple.

I loved the concept of seeing glimpses into important milestones of a supernatural couple. While all the milestones were similar to what a human couple may experience, there was the added worldbuilding that added a whimsical flavour. Sure I could tell what the main theme of a short story was going to be right away but meet the parents, vampire and werewolf edition, was just that little more interesting for me.

The only issue was that I read the compilation all in one go, thinking it would just feel like a book with chapters that time jump. It did not quite work as a book for me. The stories had a bit of a formula to ensure that the problem could be solved and the reader could get a generous sexy scene. Ten chapters with sex scenes is certainly a record for me and maybe too much? They were all well done but, by the end, I did find myself missing the romantic buildup that makes the sex scenes memorable.

Certainly worth the read, however, I recommend taking your time and spacing out each of the stories to get the best experience.

A huge thumbs up for making all ten volumes in one straight forward book for me to read.

This wasn't a dark or intense paranormal book like others I'm more accustomed too but I really liked this version just as much. The acceptance between all 'beings' and lifestyles was a breath of fresh air. The only angst felt had to do with what was deserved (the ex) and that was understandable.

Ah this was so good and very cute!! super spicy. Like 10+ sex scenes easily. Do not read this if you don't want spicy scenes . I could not put this down! It is a bit insta-love, but I really loved the characters and was immediately invested in their relationship.

Rep: white nonbinary-questioning lesbian MC, fat Black cis female lesbian MC with anxiety/depression, white queer trans male side character, bisexual cis female side character, Asian queer nonbinary side character.
CWs: Sexual content including bondage, body horror (werewolf shapeshifting), injury/injury detail, blood, mentions of past emotional abuse (romantic: MC/SC).

Great read! So much fun, and really interesting characters, and world created by the author. The main characters and supporting characters were really likable. And what’s more the romance, was sweet, funny, and super hot. Riley was such a cute and different character, and while struggling with how to label themselves gender wise, it was really well done. The relationship was healthy, and supportive, and even though they are werewolves and vampires, it felt real to me. Honestly well done!

Well, this was the cure for my reading slump!
There's a total of 10 novelettes in this story, you can get the first one for free (kobo store, in my case) to see if you like it and then get all of them for a great price (around 6€). It is so worth it!

I was hooked from the start and found myself enjoying this series massively. It's absolutely lovely, cute, with characters that are charming and feel real (if you're into vampire/werewolf pairing you'll love this!). There's plenty of hot stuff (really, plenty in each chapter and for all tastes), great and natural lgbtq representation and, overall, it's a feel good story that will make you smile. I loved the writing, it just flows so well and grabs you to keep reading.

I fell in love with Izzy and Riley and I would love to have more books featuring them. I loved to see how their relationship evolved throughout the chapters, always supporting and affirming each other, as well as learning more about their individual characters.

This will become a comfort read for me, I'm sure. I hope more people read this book and delight in it, it deserves so much more praise and attention!

This was also my first book by the author and (for now) I've added "Tengoku" and "Lucky 7" to my tbr. If you have recommendations, please let me know!

This was a really cute read. Very different from the author's other books I've been reading recently and I enjoyed it just as much. Low drama, adorably likeable characters and lots of fun and creative sexy times. I know it was written in volumes but I read it as one and felt really spoiled with all the end of chapter sex scenes. Well done lol I also enjoyed reading a story with an MC that was non-binary. I'm not myself but I appreciate and loved reading about Riley's journey. It's actually the first time I've read a story with a non-binary MC and I think important to have that kind of representation in stories. I really liked seeing how Izzy and Riley developed as a couple and as individuals. There was just a lot of depth between these two and even though they were a vampire and a werewolf, it still felt like they could be real people. Definitely one of my new favorites from Magdon 💜

Both of the leads were sweet, and I really liked the story's universe where humans and all manner of magical beings seem to (somewhat) coexist. But I think for me, the problem was that I read this as a novel, rather than a serial like it was originally published. Because of this, the extended sex scene in each chapter really slowed down the pace for me, and it felt like those pages could have been better used to further develop the book's universe or the characters' relationship.

Great Read

The idea of all sorts of mystical creatures living together with humans was so interesting. I could definitely stand to learn more about this world.

Riley and Izzy’s story is cute, heartfelt and satisfying. From the moment they met on the subway, I was hooked and enjoyed watching them grow together. It also doesn’t hurt that the smut was hot.

The cover can imply some cutesy-child-friendly story. IT'S NOT. This is REALLY spicey. Otherwise it handles emotional and psychological trauma, selfdoubt, genderfluidity and a lot more good and heavy stuff. Magdon gives every topic space to develop and brings a sensitivity to it that's really seen in shifter stories.

An absolute joy to read. The characters are fantastic and I loved the approach used for gender issues in the latter half or so. One of the best modern fantasy style settings I have read

This book is so charming you won't want to put it down. I love the characters and how they develop during the books. I love that they go through the same insecurities that us non-supernatural do. Read this series, it's excellent!
