*INCLUDES SHORT STORY - SHAKEN WITH DESIRE: NOTORIOUS DEVILS
Hayley Faiman was born and raised in the Central Valley of California. She and her husband met when they were still in High School. They were married a few years later. They lived in Oregon while her husband was in the US Coast Guard. After living in Hill Country, Texas, for eight years and three years in East Texas, they now call North Carolina home and spend their time with their two teenage sons at all their events, screaming from the stands as they swim their hearts out!
Let's start off by saying we are really loving this series and that Hayley is a favorite author for us and we love anything she writes and she never disappoints and we loved yet another tale she has written for us as the story had an amazing cast of characters for us to love and fall in love with all over again.
This was yet another emotional and heart felt read that was filled with tons of emotion and drama,a ton of regrets, challenges, surprises, self sacrifices and a whole lot of danger.
Roxie and Tanner have been struggling with their relationship for sometime and a lot of it has to do with her mental illness and feeling as though she is not good enough for Tanner but, that doesn't stop her from loving the man but, in her process to protected him she is destroying him while doing so.We loved that their relationship was challenged at every turn it just made the fight to fine their way back to each all the much harder and all the more complicated and all the more sweeter and we just loved that.
We loved this touching heart wrenching tale and we saw that love can help overcome more obstacles than you think and that it is possible if you just believe enough in the love you that have for one another it a love worth saving. Are you strong enough to whether the storms in order to keep it ? This couples journey road was a rocky one but, we were rooting for them from the onset of the story to see if they were going to be able to achieve their happily ever afters.
Another gripping tale that kept us engrossed and turning the pages to the very end.
It's no secret that this series is one of my favorite series I've ever read. Every single book has drama, sexiness and a unique storyline. This was a delicate subject matter for Hayley to dive into but she did it with the respect and realness it deserves.
Roxanne has suffered from mental illness and the judgement from others and herself since she was a young teenager. Watching her struggle and the way she feels about herself made me feel so much heartache for her. Houston isn't anything like she's ever encountered before. The way he treats her with so much love and tenderness, in his badass MC alpha way, made my heart smile.
Once again, Hayley has taken a real life situation and put it in a MC world and will make you look at people and situations with a new perspective. I'm so excited to read the next book in the series but I'm sad to see this series come to an end.
I was pulled right into this story. This story contains heartbreak, pain, secrets, danger, and suspense.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first as this is a spin off series of the below series: Rough and Rowdy (Notorious Devils MC, #1) Rough and Raw (Notorious Devils MC, #2) Rough and Rugged (Notorious Devils MC #3) Rough and Ruthless (Notorious Devils MC #4) Rough and Ready (Notorious Devils MC #5) Rough and Rich (Notorious Devils MC #6) Rough and Real (Notorious Devils MC #7) Laced with Fear (Cash Bar #1) Chased with Strength: Notorious Devils (Cash Bar #2) Flamed with Courage: Notorious Devils (Cash Bar #3) Blended with Pain (Cash Bar #4)
This is Roxanne and Houston‘s story. Houston is a newly patched member of the MC. He is attracted to Roxanne but can sense that she can be trouble. Is she worth the trouble that he could get into? Or is she way more than he ever bargained for? Both of these two will have to face things they don’t want to but, in the end, will it bring them closer together or rip them apart for good?
I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.
Roxanne doesn't believe in happy endings. Not for her. Her unstable mental condition makes her deny any chance for happiness. Even after finding a man who would do anything and everything for her.
Houston lives in darkness. The ghosts of the past and the war torment him. His only hope is in his little firefly, the woman who illuminates his heart, Roxanne. And he will do anything to make her his Old lady.
You know that book that leaves you groundless? That was the feeling of that reading for me. Houston is totally passionate and dedicated. It is far from perfect, but Roxanne has the kind of love that can make any woman sigh.
With emotionally intense situations, great dialogues and a very well constructed plot, Twisted with Chaos is, for MC Romance fans, almost a must-read. Dangers, intrigues, conspiracies and various moments that will steal your breath and shake your heart.
A book capable of shaking the structures of the reader, which shows us the importance of self-esteem and leaves us with an important lesson: without self-acceptance and self-love it is impossible to live a great love story.
I am emotionally exhausted from this book!! The first half had me near tears multiple times but the second half I had actual tears. One part had me a blubbering mess! I had to put my Kindle down and collect myself. So freaking good!!! This was a hard story to read at times mental illness is not an easy subject. Hayley Faiman wrote this story perfectly it made you understand and feel for Roxanne as she suffered and struggled with her thoughts and actions. Houston loved her through it all- her good, her bad and her ugly times. I have read just about all of this authors book and this one hands down is my favorite. It was such a fantastic story! And I can't forget the bonus short story at the end. I was super happy to read a quick story about a character I met and really liked in Roxie and Houstons book.
Fabulous addition to the series! I have been waiting for this couple's story and it was everything I knew it would be! Roxanne and Houston have been messing around for awhile. Houston wants to claim Roxie but she thinks he deserves more than her and her baggage. Roxie has a mental illness that's heritable so she was sterilized when she was younger. She wants the best for Houston and that includes a good woman and children. This is where all the trouble starts. Hayley takes you on a rollercoaster ride this book had everything a love story, action, and amazing sex scenes. I can always count on her for a five star read!
Hayley has done it again! Twisted with Chaos is Book 5 in the Cash Bar series which is the second series following the Notorious Devils MC, and she always manages to come up with new storylines and new and interesting couples. She certainly did not disappoint with Roxanne and Houston. They both are battling their own demons, which lead them into a world of Chaos. But together they calm each other demons and bring calm to their chaotic minds. As with all the books in the series, Twisted with Chaos is filled with danger, suspense, heat, and romance. Hayley never fails to deliver hard-earned HEA’s. Her characters have depth and feeling. They are rough around the edges, but they know how to love hard. Each couple gives us a new prospective inside the walls of this MC clubhouse. I absolutely cannot wait to see what Hayley will deliver in the next installment!
This one is a very emotional story. It deals with mental health, people trafficking and PTSD. It’s brutal at times but it’s also heartfelt. Loved the bonus story for Dice.
Wow Hayley knocked this book out of the park. This book had to be one hard story to write. The subject matter is not an easy one to write and she did it spectacularly well.
Both of these characters love each other with all of their hearts but she is making choices for the Houston that he does not agree with. Roxanne thinks that she is doing what is in the best interest of Houston and later on what is in the best interest of everyone. Houston would do anything for her and he doesn't see her the same as she sees herself but he can't get her to understand that.
The journey these two make is a heartbreaking, frustrating one that is full of choices that you will not always agree with, ones that will have you wanting to jump into the book because they will work you up and so much more. The twists and turns, the emotions, basically everything, will have you on the edge of your seat and hanging on each and every word. I was hooked and couldn't wait to see what would happen next!! I absolutely adore the Cash Bar Series and will be sad to see it be done.
I was a little annoyed with this one. Roxie was a different kind of character but she just got on my last nerves. I had to start skimming through cause it was so bad her non stop whining about her illness. I understand every H/h isn't perfect but even when they aren't most of the times they are likable and I want them to have their HEA. I just couldn't wait to get to the end to see who was in the short story. I will continue to read this series because I did enjoy all the other stories.
Some of my favorite romances are those set in the MC world as I’m drawn to the grittiness and sensuality permeating these stories. In that respect this story definitely shines as I was constantly on edge waiting for the next shoe to drop, on edge as this memorable couple was put through the wringer while struggling to reach their HEA. In a tale full of twists and turns readers will find themselves breathless, wiping away a few tears, along with blushing a time or two.
Roxanne Tucker’s life has been anything but easy as she’s struggled with mental illness her whole life with mostly condemnation from her mother. The only time she got support was when she decided to get sterilized, which brought out her mother’s most hurtful and manipulative reasoning. Always feeling and being seen as different made for more painful decisions and a string of men who used her illness, and her need to feel loved, against her in relationships that were abusive. Helping her friend Carson introduced her to a whole new life though and to the one man to accept her wholeheartedly in a journey full of ups and downs. It’s a journey that has her feeling like a burden and though she loves Tanner she wants better for him. This tale shows her coming to terms with herself, putting her faith in love, and by the turn of the final page it’s a triumph of the heart. Roxanne’s illness is vividly depicted, the voices and dangerous feelings engendered in her aren’t sugarcoated. Her manic phases have her acting out in over-the-top highs and sexual encounters that feed that high, while her lows were dark and had me fearing for her life. I applaud Ms. Faiman’s unflinching depiction and the realistic conclusion that Roxanne will never be healed and that everyday is a struggle for her. It made Tanner’s love and support of her all the more potent and a more richly rewarding ending. Roxanne’s a memorable heroine, put through the most emotionally painful acts by many vile men throughout this story and I ached for all she’s been through. Despite that she frustrated me through most of the story as her constant push and pull of Tanner and his love felt manipulative. She thought that by pulling away from him she was saving him from heartache, but her actions hurt him more than anything else and contributed to her kidnapping late in the story. Through most of the story Roxanne had low self-esteem and it put her in danger far too often which is why I cheered her finally accepting Tanner’s love. It was a defining moment for her and a necessary part of her living as healthy as possible with a mental illness.
Houston “Tanner” Bryant is a drool-worthy hero full of all sorts of grays as he tries to do right, be a good man, but doesn’t hesitate to kill when he needs to. A former Marine, he was left devastated after everyone in his unit was killed and he was left dealing with survivor’s guilt and PTSD. Hoping to outrun his demons he ends up a member of the Notorious Devils MC and smack dab in the middle of another war where Aryans are using women to form their own society. It’s a truly vile plan, one that’s vividly depicted and heartbreaking in feeling what the kidnapped women went through. The lone bright spot during this time was his meeting Roxanne and their starting a relationship that quickly becomes everything to him while she fights him every step of the way. It’s clear just how deep his feelings are for her and her discounting his devotion was frustrating and hurtful to him in ways that had him making poor decisions himself. All their self-doubts and fears made for an emotionally draining journey to HEA, an epic tale that I won’t soon forget. Through it all I was drawn to Tanner. Through his dumb decisions, crass words, and cold ability to kill I still saw him as a hero as he did everything he could to make her happy and safe. When he failed he hated himself for it and his heartache was palpable as was his unconditional love and acceptance of Roxanne.
From the first page to the last this was a raw and gritty read that had me frantically turning the pages. From the intense eroticism to the blood and bullets flying, readers will find themselves captivated by this story and its tale that left me breathless at times. The characters, both the main ones and the secondary too, were larger-than-life and each left an indelible mark on the story. Tanner and Roxanne were the highlight of this story and lots of time was spent on their emotional tug of war in a romance that was nicely balanced between action in and out of the bedroom. Supporting them along the way were the men and women of the Club. Some have already had their stories told while others I’m greatly anticipating. There’s a new addition too who really captured my attention...Dice, and there’s definitely much I hope to learn about this White Knight on a Motorcycle. There’s plenty of villains too, some who end up very close to home, and who get their just rewards. Others are still out there and by the end of the book I felt that the HEA is merely the calm before the storm and I can’t wait for what comes next. To help readers cope with the wait though, Ms. Faiman has included a delightful short story between characters that have a sizzling connection and it’s a tale that I wish had been even longer. It was a nice bow to wrap up this intense story though and this fifth installment in the Cash Bar series is a stellar addition that shouldn’t be missed!
Title: Twisted With Chaos (Cash Bar #5) Author: Hayley Faiman Genre: MC/Contemporary Romance Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
ARC received in return for an honest review.
What an amazing book, I couldn’t put it down until I’d literally read the very last sentence. Those of you who’ve read the previous book in this series will already be familiar with main protagonists Roxanne and Houston as they were secondary characters in it, we got a brief glimpse into their relationship then and were aware of the struggles Roxanne had with her mental health but now we get the full insight into her state of mind.
From the moment they meet Houston knows Roxanne is the ideal woman for him, mental health issues and all, however Roxanne feels undeserving of his love she feels that he deserves much better than her so she does her best to push him away time and time again. When circumstances around the pair take a devastating turn for the worse, Houston finds himself fighting harder than he’s ever fought before for the woman he loves and we get to see Roxanne embrace her inner strength and finally come to terms with her own demons.
Mental illness and the issues surrounding it are of a sensitive nature to be dealing with but Hayley Faimen handled it with the care and respect due, reading Twisted With Chaos will drag your emotions all over the place, heartbreak, hope, devastation and happiness, you’ll experience it all.
Another fantastic addition to the Cash Bar series, a five star which has left me wanting more I just know there’s more chaos to come for The Notorious Devils and the woman who bring them to their knees.
Roxanne Tucker would not be considered “normal”. Houston Bryant has been through a very tough situation. This book could be considered a standalone, which is good for me since I started reading the Cash Bar Series in the middle, and it makes it easier to go back and catch up.
Many years ago I watched a movie title Sybil that I thoroughly enjoyed. Part of that was due to the actress Sally Field bringing the main character to life. That could be what I liked about Roxanne – she’s just as complex. Beyond her issues, Houston was able to find something that he could connect to. He’s also very patient.
Out of all the Cash Bar books that I have read, this shows how creative our author is. I think it’s the most twisted for sure – which is why the title is a perfect fit. It’s a story that I could see playing out in reality. Mental health issues have been playing a part in our news – both local and national. I think that is important but it makes me wonder how Roxanne would feel about it. Our author shows how tough it can be living with something that you have no control over. You will get hints of the MC world that Houston lives in but this story is all about them.
I loved the ride this author took me on. There were ups and downs and even some curves – it was a rollercoaster ride that I didn’t want to end. One thing I liked about Houston is that he’s a support system for his brothers and he’s also a support system for Roxanne. The ending is sweet, will tug at your heart, and I had a sense that maybe things will be ok.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
Oh my gosh every time I go into a book by Hayley Faiman I know I need to be prepared for one hell of a book hangover this author just knows how to get you in the emotions you feel it even when you reach the end . This couple needed a happy ending together I really wanted them to get that when we dive into the past pain and struggles that they were faced with they so were meant to be together . Roxanne is one of my favorite heroines her strength just had me the things she thinks of her self just really hurt my heart and her not thinking she wasn't good enough for a man she had deep feelings for . Houston this man just wow the things he does for the club and of coarse for the heroine just made me want him and Roxanne to had their own happy life . I can't wait to read more by Hayley she is one of my all time favorite authors everything she writes just makes me want to read more by her and just re read everything and experience it all over again . I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book **************************************** hero=10 heroine=10 secondary characters=10 Chemistry=10 steam= 7 romance=6 humor=2 darkness level= 4 action= 4 mystery= 4 enjoyment=10 angst=4 story line=10 Story ending=10 character development=10 pacing= 10 cover=10 Blurb =10 Stars = 5 Is this part of a series =yes Can it be read as a standalone = yes would I recommend this book=yes would I re read this book= yes would I read future books by this author= yes
Because I've read who knows how many books since Blended with Pain (#4 in the series) it took me a minute to remember who Roxanne and Houston were, but when I did, I couldn't wait to see what was in store for them!
We met this crazy couple in the previous book and now it's their turn to have the spot light shone on them. It was no secret that Roxanne has some issues, but with Houston and his, they seemed like a perfect fit. On paper that is. In real life, these two have TONS of hurdles to get over before they can be together.
"I'm done. I'm a liar." I'll never be done with Roxanne."
Houston was a good guy right from the start. Sure, he's got that alpha biker in him that all of the Notorious Devils do, however I still liked him instantly. Now Roxanne took some time to grow on me as I'm not a fan of the "woe is me" type. She had the perfect guy right in front of her and yet she keeps pushing him away. At one point I wanted Houston to go and not look back.
“He looks like a man who has been broken, and I’m the person who did the breaking.”
In pure Hayley Faiman fashion, there isn't a smooth path for these two to follow. We are talking about the Notorious Devils here and they always seem to have enemies lurking around to attack their club or women. I'll stop there as to not spoil any story lines.
The book is well written and not as predictable as I thought it was going to be. We are still involved with Keyes, Carson, Ace, Snake and the other Old Ladies, which helps move the story along. Twisted With Chaos can be read as a standalone, however you'll appreciate everybody a little more if you know their backstories.
Finally we get Roxanne’s story and it was totally worth the wait! Roxanne has spent years resigned and defined by her mental illness, insisting that she doesn’t deserve to be happy because of her issues. Houston on the other hand, feels that Roxanne is his person and that they are made for each other. He accepts her for who she is, illness and all, and doesn’t want or expect her to change or conform. The bulk of this book was really Roxanne fighting the ability to have a good and happy life because she was so adamant that because she has a mental illness it was like a death sentence for her and she didn’t want to bring Houston down. As per usual, there is another run-in with the Aryan’s (seriously, you think they get them and they come back again!), with Roxanne being their focus this time. When they get hold of Roxanne, Houston does anything and everything he can to get her back whether she wants to or not. I swear, this story took me on a roller coaster of emotions and at one point I was screaming at my iPad in an attempt to knock some sense into Roxanne! This book was definitely unique to Hayley as this really had a focus on mental illness and how medication isn’t always the answer or solution. I also really liked that she highlighted the stigma of normal especially in relation to someone with a mental illness. This book definitely holds a special place in my heart. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Oh my. Roxanne and tanners story was a hard one to read at times. I’m going to say that Roxanne is one of my favorite heroines from this author. She was so strong, even when she didn’t feel that way. The author wrote her to be an amazing heroine and I feel that she exceeded tenfold. The romance was amazing. It was kinda like a second chance but it was different. I liked seeing them push and pull and then in the end end up happy. It wasn’t easy at all but if anyone could do it, it was the amazing man tanner is and the the strong woman that Roxie is.
The drama and action had me scared so many times while reading this book. It was hard to read sometimes but I knew that the author would get justice of all involved. This author has a great writing style and can really pull at all the strings in my heart. That’s one thing I love about her books. They are full of romance, alpha man, sassy and strong women, with action and drama that just keeps me hooked from the start. I can’t wait for more of this series. 5 stars #2OCCJD
Also adding that I LOVED the little story that the author gave us at the end. I was hoping for something for this character and was not disappointed. Ok, that’s a lie, my only disappointment was that they didn’t get a full story, but the author was still able to pack a punch with a short story.
Hayley Faiman is back with another twisted, complicated, heartwrenching, fast installment in the super sexy Cash Bar series and if you think you'd read it all by Hayley (I mean can anyone write alphas like hers?!) then you are crazy mistaken. I'm not sure what I expected with this book (I'm always expecting surprises with Hayley!) but it certainly wasn't this journey or these characters. She shook me y'all.
Twisted with Chaos was.... different, not necessarily in a bad way either, just really really different. Suspenseful. Angsty. Intense. Chaotic. Dramatic. Emotional. Twisted. Steamy. This book was hard..ugly in moments and hopeful in others. The path wasn't always clear and it got pretty dang dark but it was unforgettable and unputdownable in all the moments.
Holy smokes y'all! Houston and Roxanne were an epic disaster in every way possible yet I couldn't quit reading or look away from their story, hooked like an addict that just needed the next hit.
Hayley Faiman writes the ultimate hate-to-love and love-to-hate bikers. She writes them rough, rugged, jaded, tough, intense, and so damn irresistible in all the wrong bad boy ways. If you have NO limits and like lines to cross then she's a must read.
I have really enjoyed this series and Roxanne and Houston have really intrigued me over the last couple of books. Hayley certainly didn't let me down with their tale.
This instalment in the Cash Bar Series covers a hard topic of mental illness but Hayley has done it in a amazing way. She gave it the respect and honesty that it deserves and she did it brilliantly.
My heart broke for Roxanne. I so wanted to give her a huge hug for how brave she was. She's had a hard time with her mental illness since she was a teenager. She has never really had someone in her corner supporting her and putting her first.
Houston is the typical hot badass Alpha male but with Roxanne he is so sweet and swoon-worthy. He knows what he wants and he wants Roxanne but he has to convince her that she is worthy of his love.
The rollarcoaster Hayley takes us on is gripping and emotional. You will be unable to put this book down once you start. Tissues will be needed as the emotions are so raw and real, they really seep off the pages and embed themselves in your heart.
Can't wait to see what Hayley brings us next.
ARC received in exchange for an honest review from the Author and Inkslinger
Twisted with Chaos was amazing, as expected. Lots of depth and detail. I never had to guess what was happening, or what lead characters to behave the way that they did.
Roxanne has a mental health condition that kept her up and down and Houston accepted her for who she is. It had my heart bleeding for the two. No matter what..Houston was there for her. To hold her, to protect her...to love her. Even when she felt that she was not deserving.
Sometimes, through tragedy comes triumph. Roxi went through a few horrible months and that only brought her closer to Houston. She discovered what love truly is. What strength and honor is. What desire means. She knew, without a doubt that Houston was the one for her, even if she didn’t understand why. I love this story. Absolutely LOVE this story. The Cash Bar series sticks with me through the years. This series is one that you tell your friends about, the one that you say “you HAVE to read this”. They’re addictive and sexy and real. I think that’s the word that hits home..real. Nothing about these stories seem made up. They’re real, true to life situations, which make you love Hayley Faiman even more. Be sure to pick up your copy today!
I've been shy about the fact that Hayley Faiman is one of my very favorite authors, and with every new story she releases, it's cemented even further. I can't even tell you which book or series is my favorite, as each new book becomes my favorite, and I'll always read them more than once, they are than amazing. She's that brilliant, and in Twisted with Chaos, she's raised her own bar even higher with the very realistic topic she took on, telling it with the grace & realism it deserved. See, Roxanne has dealt with a serious mental illness her whole life, and people didn't treat her well because of it, including her own mother. I could feel the pain & torture that she went through throughout the whole story, and it was so palpable, that it was like a punch in the stomach. Houston was the man who wanted her no matter what, and she didn't know how to deal with that, so he dealt with it in that Notorious Devils MC alpha way that made my heart sing. Yes, that sounds like such a girly girl thing to say, but it's just the plain truth, though he's as bad a** as they come. So yeah, this story was everything, and everyone NEEDS to run, not walk, to their nearest device & one click this beautiful story right now! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
This book hit my kindle and I immediately stopped everything that I was doing to read it. It has been a heavily anticipated book for me since reading Carson and Keys book.
Roxanne and Houston were secondary characters in Blended with Pain. We got brief glimpses then of their tumultuous relationship. We knew Roxanne was struggling with her mental health then but we didn’t have the full details until now.
Houston knows 100% that Roxanne is meant to be his. He survived and unfathomable attack during his military career that has left permanent scars on him mentally. That leaves him being more understanding than most around them of her mental state.
Roxanne is fighting everything and everyone around her. She doesn’t think she deserves to have a good life and is willing to sacrifice herself for those that she loves.
Devastating events happen that lead to more pain than Roxanne has ever felt. The Notorious Devils haven’t seen the last of their enemies.
This book will give you joy, heartbreak, hope and devastation. You will not be able to stop once you start reading. It will leave you until the end wondering if the characters we have grown to love will make it all out alive.
As with all my reviews, this is my emotional response to the story rather than a general overview.
Possible Spoilers**
The way the author dealt with the mental health theme was very good, especially set within the world the series is based in (remember it’s fiction!). The only thing that let down the story line for me was Houston’s involvement with Dimples. He was practically celibate for when Roxanne walked away the first time, but then anger f**ked Dimples knowing where Roxanne was, knowing she’d done it to save them AND had in the back of his mind that Dimples had something to do with it…..really!! I know in a way it had to merge in with Dimples character within the story, but it just didn’t fit in with his previous feelings and actions, it was almost glossed over as well. I did however appreciate that we didn’t read on page about the abuse Roxanne went though whilst she was ‘taken’. If we had I can’t see how their story could’ve moved forward at the pace it did. What I did love was Dice and Juliette’s story at the end…..sigh…😍
This is hands down one of THE BEST books I have ever read. Hayley Faiman brings a whole new meaning to raw when it comes to Twisted With Chaos. I feel like my heart has been ripped out of my chest and out back in just a little bit different than it was before I started reading this, and that little bit of difference is a thing of beauty. Roxanne and Houston have the messiest and most beautiful love story ever. Hayley Faiman went real REAL when it comes to mental illness in this book. There was no sugarcoated, miracle cure, healed by love magic going on. Things got ugly, they were messy, they were dark but they were also beautifully brilliant, so filled with love and overflowing with the true strength that Roxanne has inside of her. This is not you average sexy alpha male biker read. In fact while this entire series has been as gritty and raw as it has been utterly beautiful this book is about a thousand times more on both sides of that coin. I full on sobbed, I raged, I yelled and I fell more in love with Roxanne and Houston than I ever have with any couple before.
*****5 Chaos Stars***** So Hayley Faiman is becoming one of my new favorite authors and this is only my second read by Hayley. After reading Blended with Pain I couldn’t not wait for Roxanne and Houston’s story because we only got a small glimpse of them and I knew it was would be good read. Roxanne is struggling with mental illness and kept it a secret as long as she could. Houston has survived war that has left permanent scars and mental scars PSTD. Roxanne past has been a long road of ups and downs and when she left home with Carson for a new start she thought things would get better. Houston knows 100% that Roxanne is meant to be his ever since he laid his eyes on her. Roxanne and Houston have the chaotic and most beautiful love story ever. I’m leaving so much out like someone out for the club and will do anything to hurt them. O and we get a short story at the end and it so good. This book should be defiantly in your must read list.
This was hard for me to rate. It wasn’t my favorite in the series, & I had very time connecting w/ Roxie or feeling any connection between her & Tanner. I know a lot of her behavior was f/her illness, but I didn’t like the games she played w/ Tanner. She knew how in love w/her he was, & she continued to sleep w/him- telling herself it was a goodbye f***, & the last time. For once I didn’t blame the guy for being w/another woman. Roxie kept playing games w/him & it wasn’t right. I just wished he wouldn’t have turned to the conniving bitch he did. I loved Tanner & how he continued to want to stay by Roxie’s side even through her constant self doubt & her feeling like she was a burden to everyone. I may not have been a fan of Roxie’s, but I still didn’t like how Tanner continued to screw Dimples while Roxie was missing. Dimples was a conniving b**** and I wanted to see her suffer, not meet her end so easily. This wasn’t a bad book in the series, it just wasn’t my favorite.
Roxanne and Tanners story is definitely one of the most crushing! Their love is deep but Roxanne’s demons are deeper and she’s making all decisions out of fear! What Roxanne’s doesn’t realize is that Tanner might just be the only man who can handle her dark as well as relish in her light! What neither expected were the demons lurking in the shadows!
I absolutely loved Tanner! He is definitely my fave Devil and his patience for the love of his life is something you don’t see often in a hero and it’s definitely what Roxanne needs! I also love the members who had both their backs but especially their brothers! Roxanne has been a fave since book 4 and I’m so happy she got her book and got to find a love that she needed and deserved!
I didn’t think this story was going to be any good, with Roxanne’s illness. But was I wrong. Roxanne truly was stronger than any woman in this series. She was also the kindest and most devoted to her friends than any other female character. The club was hateful to her, none of them treated the other ladies the way they all treated Roxanne and yet she gave more than anyone to them. Tanner should have stood up to them to protect her when she offered herself as bait. None of them deserved her kindness. I think I want to read this again as I loved it so much. Kudos to this author for bringing light to Roxanne’s disease. Tanner better be just remarkable to her for the rest of her life. Loved this story.
I found this novel very confusing, Roxanne and Huston we’re suppose to be in inmate relationship, but Roxanne put herself in a sex slave situation and Huston kept his man whore ways with club girls. Roxanne was mental ill and Huston was supportive of of her treatment. He rescues her from this sex ring and makes her his old lady. I didn’t feel that these two could love each other in a marriage. He wanted children and she couldn’t have them. The ending felt off for these two, I could not connect with the book. I enjoyed reading the short book concerning Dice. I wished that storyline had more content.
