There are two things you should always remember about elves. One, they never miss. Two, they never give up.
I thought I was safe when my familiar stopped the arrow from turning me into a kabob, but as I said, elves don't give up. Especially when they think you destroyed their city and killed their king in some grandiose quest for power . They didn't know me very well.
He may not have believed me, but he believed the goddess when she showed up to proclaim my innocence. Unfortunately for him, she turned him into my full-time body guard. I should have been grateful, I should have been happy I had another hottie keeping me from getting dead. I should have been a lot of things, but all of them would have been easier if he and I got along better than nitro and glycerin. Did I mention the third thing you should always remember about elves? They're kind of stuck-up jerks with pointy ears and nice butts.
Now, my body-guard and I get to travel to Faerie to convince the royal family of my innocence. Sounds fun, right? Try telling your boyfriends that they aren't invited…
Fourth Rite is an adult novel intended for mature audiences only. It contains graphic language and sexual situations. 18+ readers only! This is a medium burn reverse harem where the girl gets all the guys. Why Choose?
I am liking the story even though its slow moving. The other thing that annoys me about every character in this series, both male and female, is that they don't have any other emotional reaction apart from waterworks. Everyone and every time the only reaction to anything slightly emotional is a tear down the cheek or watering eyes if they are able to hold it in. Its annoying.
Still an interesting story, though I am still not sure where its going.
Dot has a target on her back or more specifically her chest. She is marked by an elf assassin and since elves never miss and never give up until they have killed their target, Dot is once again in trouble. Luckily the goddess intervenes. So instead of being dead, she now has an elven bodyguard and a trip scheduled to faerie. The goddess says there's something there she needs to see, so along with her bodyguard, her familiars, Candace, and Shea, Dot travels to faerie where the new king wants nothing more than her death. Too bad for him, she's not an easy one to kill.
I enjoyed the first three books of this series so much, but this one fell short. The story felt shallow and very rushed. Dot is now adding lovers with no build-up and seems attracted to every person she crosses paths with. I don't mind a large harem but I do like to have a connection between the characters before they are added. Dot seems like she is being ruled by her hormones completely at this time. There's no Coven business, no bookstore updates, no trips to the diner, no time with Josie. Let's go back to more character growth and more storyline and not worry about adding new men so much. Chief virtually disappeared in this book, which is not okay. I realize that it needed to feature Jimmy to include the M/M because Chief certainly isn't going to be involved with that and the M/M was definitely hot but I'm not willing to let Chief be ignored. I would also like to see more relationship depth with the men. The L word is tossed around but I'm not seeing it. Jimmy has pretty words but also is distracted by every body he sees as well. Chief disappeared. Jason and Shae need a little more "alpha" to them. They seem happy with anything and everything Dot is willing to give them. The only thing this book had in common with the first three was the humorous banter with Dar. I hope book five returns more towards what made me love this series in the beginning.
I got to 69% of the book and decided to stop. Again I was really enjoying this book and very excited to continue reading. BUT I really would like for authors to mention if they are going to have M/M. Just a small disclaimer, it is not my thing and I just get super mad because I was invested in the story. Anyways if you don’t mind that and you are looking for a fun and witchy series then you should read this book.
-I’m not going to continue with the series.

I seriously am loving this series, word of warning, don’t read this while having a drink, I spat my coffee out in laughter at times throughout the story. I love the well written storyline with the fabulous characters, I cannot get enough of this series and now have a book hangover awaiting the next one!
This series is cracking jokes left and right and still somehow manages you stab you right in the feelings when you least expect it! Honestly, this is one of my favourite casts of characters for a long time, they're all so entertaining. And I really enjoyed seeing the Fae Realm in this book. Dot's mysterious powers are steadily becoming clearer and the mystery surrounding her has me very excited for the next book!
The h now has the fae involved as someone is shooting arrows at her! The demon rift of the previous book caused some damage in the fae kingdom that they are blaming the h for She has to journey to the court of the light fae to prove her innocence and follow her goddess' directions
***** Ok so in the beginning I was angry as the h was attacked a couple times and didn't say anything to her SOs Eventually she fessed up These books are funny but the h's attitude sometimes annoys me The H's roles seem to be the same in each book Some m/m action
I truly enjoy the series and the writing, it's funny, sarcastic and moves at a quick pace. I find the author's writing engaging and will continue to look forward to more from this author. That being said, this particular book really needed to be proof read. I found many spelling and syntax errors throughout. It didn't ruin the read for me, but it did slow me down a bit as I figured things out.
I have really enjoyed all of the books in the series. This book however had some many errors, I had a hard time following it in places. Eventually I just started reading what I thought should go there. It was simply things like Yuki’s name spelt Yukie, to sentences that made absolutely no sense. The story itself was ok, not what I expected from the previous 3 books. I plan on reading the rest of the series and hopefully they are better.
Ok, ok. I know I said that about the last book, I’m totally serious this time. There was just. so. MUCH! So much crazy, chaos, love, relationship leaps and bounds, new and interesting storylines and some M/M action. And it is even going to continue into another book! Can’t wait to find out more about Dar... about the Lord... about everything!
This was another great read for me. I love how Dot adds more characters to her posse as the series continues and how her powers only seem to grow. Add in the fact that every book has a subplot in the overal story arc, making me satisfied as a reader, yet wanting me to continue the series because it's such a fun read. I love it
This is the fourth book of Lovin' the Coven Series. I have really been enjoying this series. It's easy to read, has mystery a bit of action and spice. As with the other books, I'm loving the one liners and character chemistry. I can't wait to read more.
I literally binged all 4 books in 2 days. I have not eaten. Love the humour that permeates this story, but mostly just love that she’s an independent witch who doesn’t need a man to save her.
Fourth Rite was interesting in some parts and not so interesting in others but nothing that would stop me from finishing the book.
As the harem has grown so has the space given towards humping scenes and in a book that is relatively short, it ends up having an effect on how many interactive scenes we get for the side characters cast or even the guys for that matter since Chief really doesn't get much limelight. Shea was nice but that relationship does feel off paced for what we have been seeing till now.
There is a good idea for a plot, I was curious to see the elven world and build on the whole attack thing going on but the build up was somewhat lacking once the Goddess appears practically giving a clear plot movement with more sporadic appearances down the pages. I can see where this leading obviously and I'm interested to see whether it will be incorporated nicely but for this book, the actual active part in the Faerie realm was too rushed or not so attached with barely there interaction with the King. I did like the end confrontation showing Dot as the badass just like the last book.
The writing errors were definitely more jarring in this book than the previous ones, sometimes it became confusing in key scenes. I didn't like this as much as the third book but I'm curious towards the developmental arc being built for Dot's powers.
I am loving this series! Every book has maintained its momentum, added new elements to Dot’s world, and keeps adding new characters while juggling the characters from earlier books perfectly.
This book takes the reader on a journey into the elf realm. It was a nice change of scenery and pace since all the other books focused mostly on Cedar Falls. This adventure introduces more characters to Dot’s world that I hope we will see again. This adventure also allowed for Dar and Dot’s relationship to evolve, or maybe not evolve but become more defined and acknowledged. I am excited to see how that plays out. I think Dar is probably my favorite!! 😍😈
There were a few things that I did not enjoy in the last book but those were just my personal preferences and had no sway over my actual review of the book. Even if there were a few scenarios I wasn’t pleased to read about, the story itself was fantastic.
I am still confused about Dennis and what his ultimate relationship will be with Dot. At this point, I wish he would just strive to find his happiness with the witch he seems to be dating. Derek seems like the odd 3rd, 5th, or 6th wheel at this point and I hope the author gives him the redemption arc he desperately wants or writes him an happy ending with someone else.
The steam in this book is just as hot as the others and even added some delicious MM action. This series has been slowly adding to Dot’s harem so I’m curious to see exactly how many she ends up with. The bonus POV scenes at the end of the books has turned into something to die for! I love reading about smutty scenes from one of the male’s POV and it is straight fire!!
Book four! So far, I really love this series, it’s one of those series you can just lose yourself in and binge. There’s a little bit of everything in every book, so it covers all the bases. This series is a reverse harem, and one of the things I love about it is the relationships really develop at a natural pace. And it’s not like everyone joins in all at once, in fact Shea is the new addition in this book, and the progression there is slow and steady. I also really like the way that Dot approaches the whole thing, she doesn’t make unilateral decisions for the group. To start this book off we have an Elf assassin out to kill Dot. It’s actually almost amusing at first, Dot survives the attempts no problem, no one knows why this happening, and Dot is just trying to go on with life by pretending it isn’t, which is amusing. We have the full shut down of Derek, the ex, so if you were looking for him to be a member of the harem, you are sadly mistaken. Honestly, I felt like it was the right decision, Derek would be moving back, and Dot is really starting to grow into herself as witch, as a high priestess, and in her relationships. I’m terms if storyline progress this book feels more like a way station if you will. There isn’t a major event in this book like in the previous. You basically have a new character, the Elf, Shea becoming a member of the coven and Dot’s inner circle, and a mission given by the Lady that no one really knows how it’s going to go. I did kind of feel like this book ended a bit abruptly, but it was still very enjoy, and the spicy sex scenes got turned up in this book as well.
I knew there was more than meets the eye when it came to Shea and was there ever! ;)
I was really happy with his addition to the coven and harem and look forward to learning more about the "dark elves".
Jason is also upping him game and Jimmy just keeps being his amazing funny and pervy self. *wiggles eyebrows*
Im glad that the author has toned down a bit with the whole Chief being overbearing and pissy about everything and that Dot is finally pissed about how Derek behaved with her when he left. It was just weird that she was happy to see the ex that broke her heart and behave like nothing had happened.
Candace, Josie and Yuki are just too precious and hilarious for words! 😉
Despite everything, I felt a bit bad for Jaerden the douche and I hope his century with Dot helps chill him out (wishful thinking but a girl can hope).
And my DARling, I KNEW YOU LIKED DOT!!! 😁
Now I just NEED TO KNOW WHAT SHE IS!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

This series gets more and more interesting as it goes on. In this book we see elves attacking Dot as they believe she caused the rift to hell that nearly destroyed their castle and killed their king. Just as their prince is about to fulfill his threat the Lady inhabits Candy and tells him that they all need to go back to Underhill to see his brother, the king.
We learn in this book that there is more to Dot than meets the eye. She is no normal witch, which is why the Lady is constantly popping by for a chat. Her powers seem to keep on growing. Dangling hints in front of the reader about Dot’s origins certainly keeps me reading, but we don’t have anything truly resolved in this book. Once again there is a cliffhanger, though it isn’t one that makes me want to pound my head against a wall with frustration.
There are some very hot scenes in this book, which include some MMF action, which isn’t surprising as Dot adds more men to her list of lovers. There are hints of more men to come too!
I started this series with high expectations from always reading about this wonderful author and the best series ever... That is a lot of hype to live up to. Well, the first book had me curious and when finished, I thought this is good, into the second, even better and then the pattern began each book is better than the last!!! How Jacquelyn mixes erotica (some of the best written) with an intriguing plot and full character development is astonishing. I refuse to elaborate because the next in the series has finished downloading and I have reading to do.... In conclusion all the hype does not do this series justice, not only am I a concert I am in running to be president of the Club.
So this one is more of 3.5 for me. I didn't enjoy this installment as much as the others. There were a decent amount of spelling errors that threw me now and then. Even with names..i.e. She versus Shea. The story seemed a bit rushed and not as fleshed out when it came to character interactions. FMC seemed a bit full of herself in this installment as well. Also a seemingly abrupt end. Not so much a cliff hanger, more of an is the sentence finished? I have really enjoyed this series and am still interested in the next book. I'm not sure I would have read the second book if the first was anything like this though.
I’m enjoying the story though it’s becoming more and more about the sex than much else. There is still some plot. I just wish the typos were minimized. I’ve highlighted some of the typos.
This series is also pretty funny, I do find myself chuckling out loud at some of the jokes from this book. I really like the cast of characters and how it keeps going.
Honestly the story isn’t bad, it just needs to be fine tuned.
In this book we deal with elves. At the end of this book we are dealing with elves. Fun stuff.
Dar also did...something. I’m not sure what, but I’m interested to find out.
And again I was unhappy with the heroine. The way she builds her harem is way too close to cheating for me. She finds so many men attractive and does not give a moment to think whether her actions and/or talks would be acceptable to her boyfriends. Well, Jimmy is usually fine but Jason is almost non existent in her thoughts and she constantly angers Chief. I get that this impulsiveness is her main character trait but it annoyed me. I am not particularly fond of reverse harems where the male members have no say.
This book has one of the sexiest love scenes I've ever read. Especially Jimmy's POV . Wow !!!!! Elves are a**holes never can place nice with others and Dar ...... I wonder what's happening with that whole situation. I wonder if Dot will ever have a lesbian sex scene I know she says ewww but I'm thinking she'll eventually go for it . Maybe with Candice , Josie and Yuki or someone else . Hmmmmmm..................
Another amazing read in the Lovin' the Coven series, incredibly funny, moving and steamy. I was hooked from the first pages as always, and sucked into the adventure with Dot and her family, and just couldn't put it down as I laughed out loud at the snarky humour and cried at the sad scenes, I just can't get enough and can't wait to start the next book. Melissa Schwairy's narration was wonderful and helped bring the characters to life. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
Fourth Rite continues Dot’s story from the previous book with an Elven assassin and a trip to Faerie included in this book. As with the previous books I enjoyed the humour in this book and the conversations between Dot and the various characters that made me smile. The story was good and I liked seeing Dot’s harem expand and I’m curious to see how it ends up in the end. Overall, another good book in the series and I would recommend giving it a read.
Wow this series keeps getting better and better. So many twists and still no answer to the question what is the high priestess really??? She adds more sexy men to her harem discovers elves are after her not just to kill her but some wanting to marry her.. as for dar core blimey who knew he was more than just the german shephard/hellhound ...
Had this saved in my tbr file on Facebook, had a quiet day and binge read all four. I actually can’t believe just how good this is. It has EVERYTHING. I love a bit of humour in my RH so this was perfect. If you haven’t read them yet you are missing out!
I’m really loving this series. While there is some action, the focus is really on the relationships between the characters. In Fourth Rite, we learn more about Dar - who I am really loving :) and a new character is introduced. I am intrigued to see how he fits in and also learn more about what the Fourth Rite means for the group :)
These books just keep getting better and better. I can’t stop laughing, the shenanigans are unreal, and the amount of love is infinitesimal! Dot is slowly discovering secrets and the freakin elves are causing havoc regardless of dark or light. Can’t wait for book five!
