Rate this book
He vows to find her sister. She helps him find himself. The only son of Logan Ramsay, the man known to all as the Beast of the Highlands, Gavin Ramsay feels a powerful need to prove himself. His sire thinks he’s incapable of leading a mission on his own, but when a young lass goes missing from the clan, Gavin vows to find her. His time has come—if he can avoid being distracted by the missing girl’s sister, Merewen, a sweet yet fierce beauty whose stunning talent with the bow rivals even that of his mother. Merewen Baird will do anything to save her sister. She’s long admired Gavin, and when he agrees to search for Linet with her, she sets off on a journey with him and several of his cousins. Their search brings them to Inverness, a burgh by the sea, where they discover an underground the likes of which the Ramsay and Grant cousins have never seen. Lasses and lads fight for coin, and there are whispers of a coming shipment of illegal, human, merchandise. To save Linet and the other lasses and lads, Merewen and Gavin must risk all—including the promise of a future with each other.

Highland Resilience
By Keira Montclair
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Gavin Ramsey has a need to prove himself as he is the only son of Logan Ramsay, the man known as the Beast of the Highlands. His Mother is also known as the best archer in the land. His Father seems to think that he is not able to lead a mission on his own, but when a young girl goes missing from the clan, Gavin vows to find her. It seems his time has finally come to prove himself capable that is if he can avoid being distracted Merewen the girls sister. Merewen is a sweet, fierce beautiful young lady who seems to be rather talented with a bow and arrow and she is good enough to possibly rival his mother.

Merewen Baird will do anything to save her sister. For a very long time she has admired Gavin from afar, but stayed away because of a promise she made her sister. A promise where they both agreed to marry brothers. When Gavin agrees to search for her sister Linet they set off on a journey together with several of his cousins in tow. Their search brings them to Inverness where they discover an underground, but this underground is like nothing they have ever seen. It seems that people actually fight for money and there are whispers. Whispers of a shipment of illegal, human, merchandise.

Kiera Montclair is utterly fabulous. This book has it all. Your emotions will be scrambled all over the place, but you won't be able to put the book down. It had me spellbound. If you are looking for a story chalked full of adventure then stop here because you have found your book. I can't wait to see what Ms. Monclair comes up with for the next book.

It was hard to live up to a sire nicknamed "The Beast" and a mother reputed to be the best archer in the land! Gavin the only son of Logan and Gwyneth Ramsey, he had been working with his cousin Gavin for the Band of Cousins who were determined to find and stop the Channel of Dubh completely. They stole boys and girls and sold them far off, never to be seen again. He just wanted to have an adventure!
Well, that was about to happen when he heard Merewen, his neighbor screaming for her sister Linnet. She was beyond frantic that she was missing and far away from their home. How could she know this? But as Gavin and some of his cousins rode in, the thought became she could have been grabbed by the very people they were trying to stop!
Thus the search begins. Keira Montclair has written a story filled with suspense, intrigue, adventure and emotions that range from one spectrum to the other. But with her skillful crafting of words, blended with the history of the time, you will not be able to put it down. Yes, here I am after one in the morning and had to finish!! Cannot wait for the next in this series and I urge you not to miss this one!

I love the Ramsays, especially Gwenyth and Logan so any story about their kids I'm excited about. CW for abuse and sexual assault. I don't know why Constance needs to be so annoying in this book when she was so lovable in her story and the one before. She was suddenly so over the top.

This is a good Highlander romance, and a good addition to the Band of Cousins series. It can be read standalone, but will be much better if you read the Clan Grant series and Highland Clan series first. That is because there are many, many characters in this story, most of whom were introduced in one of the other two series.

This one gets 3.5 stars from me, rounded up to 4 stars.

I liked Gavin, and thought he was good for Merewen. It really bothered me, though, that his father Logan made him feel inadequate. Logan has been such a great dad for all his other children, so I didn't understand why the author would make him so flawed in his treatment of his son. Even after Gavin saves his life, he still doesn't believe Gavin is strong enough to have done that, and believes the lies that someone else saved him. I also didn't understand why Gavin's mother didn't make sure Logan knew who saved him -- she was there when Gavin brought him home to the healer.

I liked Merewen, but had trouble with some of her dumb decisions. She kept doing things that she knew were dangerous, and Gavin kept having to save her. I did like that she was determined to save her sister, though, even if it meant endangering herself.

I was glad that Gavin and Merewen found their HEA -- they were good together, and they both needed someone who understood them.

I also liked most of the other characters, and am interested in how this series will resolve. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

Another brilliant addition to The Band of Cousins

I'm totally in love with all is the Grant and Ramsay's!! I love they say the Keira had brought us all through the lives of there two strong and loving families that are so loyal to each other no matter what!

Gavin and Merewen’s story was heartfelt. Following your heart isn't always easy but these two made my heart swell!

Gavin trying to show his father that he is a strong young man and can handle whatever life throws his way. He just has a different way of doing and handling issues than his father, Logan. But he's a true Ramsay through and through!

Merewen is a very strong young woman who will do anything and go to any extreme to save her sister whom she loves beyond measure. Her connection to her sister takes her on a journey with best Band of Cousins that will warn your heart and keep you on edge off your seat wondering what she'll do next!

Their love for each other and the strength and support the give each other will bring them through the toughest of times and they will find out that they are stronger together!

Off you haven't read any of Laura's books before? I highly suggest that you start with Alex and Maggie's story.

The Fighting Ring?

What a shock to wake up and find your beloved sister missing and feel the fear her sister felt. Merewen and her sister were extremely close so she knew her sister enough to know she wouldn't just up and leave. As it turns out her sister was another victim of the Channel for sale by greedy men.
It's back to the search and rescue for the Ramsey and Grant's to shut down this terrible blight on the women and children of Scotland. With the effort of the Cousins and those with them they become involved again with the fighting ring and search for the hidden girls. They were lucky to discover and rescue the attempted shipping of Maggie and Will after drugging them and the plot to torture Gavin and Maggie's sire and eventually killing him. Gavin was the hero for his family and Merewen, but was unable to free Merewen's sister. He has to give it up since she clearly does not want to be rescued. The fight continues against the Channel and the mystery of it's leaders.

Highland Resilience by Keira Montclair
Band of Cousins Series Book Six
Gavin Ramsay has been busy with his mission to close down the Channel. The selling of young lads and lassies. As the only son of the great Logan Ramsay...he felt he had much to prove. Especially since his father didn't believe in him. Held onto something stupid Gavin had done three years ago. But this mission...he'd prove himself.

Merewen Baird has a special connection with her sister. When Linet goes missing, Merewen can feel that something bad has happened. That her sister is far away and in trouble. Thankfully she convinces Gavin to take her with to help find her sister.

Great story! A different view of Logan and seeing all the young Grants and Ramsays as they grow up. The continuing thread in this series is the Band of Cousins trying to shut down this Channel. There are a few loose ends for Gregor, Connor, and the others to tie up in the next few books. Looking forward to more.

Band of Brothers Gavin’s Story

The series about the Grant and Ramsey family have been a pleasure to read and follow. Highland Resilience was a wonderful read, that didn’t disappoint!! Gavin and Gregor are usually seen but not heard too much in the other books, but here they are front and center! They continue to work at destroying a channel of human trafficking and are getting closer to the ringleaders.

Merewen and Gavin’s romance blossoms while hunting for her sister. Gavin also has some daddy issues because they are so much a like. Wait until you read about Gavin exciting a room! Though there are some disagreements these families all center on love.

Gregor and Connor sound like they are next. Could Connor being falling for someone his mother may highly disapprove of or do we not know the real women behind the tough exterior?

Keira Montclair has done it again, great job!!

A return. Is it to my favorite Clans/Families/Friends/Mates.

I love these Clans/Families/Friends/Mates, I feel they are all mine. These books are addicting to me, I just can’t get enough. I have read all HR books Keira Montclair has written, and read in order, which gives the advantage of knowing all of the reoccurring characters. They can be read as standalone, but glad I read in order. The book started out exciting, and just kept that way, to a very satisfying end. I didn’t want to put it down. I loved the hero Gavin, Strong, kind, loyal, and loving. The heroine, Merewen, a very strong, brave, loyal, able to take care of herself, but also loving woman. The story is full of Intrigue, adventure, mystery, romance, and some very tender, loving, a little sensuality, but very tender moments. This book has everything to keep you into it, till the end. I highly recommend this book, as I do all this author’s books, and can’t wait to start the next one.

This is the next book in the Band of Cousins series and didn’t disappoint. It had you guessing as who was the villain and had action, suspense and romance. As usual I enjoyed this read. The characters are wonderfully written and engaging and the story has you waiting to see what will happen next. Ms Montclairs books are always a great because there is not a lot of filler so you can really get into the story. And even though this can be read as a standalone book, it is so much more enjoyable to have the read the ones before because you will want to read the next as the adventure and mystery continue.

Loved It!

The Band of cousins are making traction they are finally getting to the bottom of the Channel. Gavin and Merewen are a perfect pair right from the start. I worried that Gregor would be left out he and Gavin have been together since they were born but their group is so close not that Merewen just adds to their brilliance she can shoot almost as good as Gavin and Gregor. This story while being a love story takes you on a journey and really makes you reflect on the tragedies that are happening today with sex trafficking. I'm so glad Keira weaves a beautiful love story In the mix of such real tragedies. I'm excited for Gregors story. Got Reading!

More Ramsay’s and Grants! It’s not often that you read a book and get to find out what happens to everyone. That is what is great about this series. While all of the books can be read independently it’s so much more if you have started at the beginning. You have an opportunity to see the characters come into their own and this book is no different. It’s not easy being the only son of legendary spies and every son wants their fathers approval. We all make mistakes and our past does not define us, but can a father move beyond the past to see the responsible man his son has become?

Banding together

Another wonderful Band of Cousin book! Gavin has never received his sires approval Logan Ramsey. When one of there lasses goes missing he is going to prove to his papa he is worthy. When a kings man shows up without his sister and Will he becomes suspicious! He decides to go after the missing lass even though his sire tells him NO! Merewen who is the lasses sister asks to go along and shows with her archery skills she will be an asset. A wonderful read and a great book continuing the Band of Cousins! Can’t wait for Gregory’s story!

Headstrong

Gavin and Mearwen were well suited. For me, what I loved the most about this story was the contentious relationship between father and son. Logan Ramsay has always been my favorite hero. There were several laugh out loud moments between the two of them. I definitely wanted to see how the author would heal them. She did not disappoint. The relationship between the hero and heroine developed very well. I love that previous characters are embedded in the stories.

I look forward to Trevor and Connor 's story....Though I am not sold on Sela yet.

Another winner from Keira Montclair

I started with the first book and continued with each subsequent book. The first series of books set the stage for the next set with the second generation. Now I am almost through the Band of Cousins. I love the fact that all the characters play a part in the continuing story until I feel like they are family and I feel a part of their world. It's a wonderful gift to engage the readers that way and make them beg for more. Keira is a master at it!

And it keeps getting better!

I have been in love with the Ramsey and Grant clans forever. Since I discovered my first story. The generations that have come after have legends to follow but these cousins are creating their own legacies.
I just finished this story and can't wait for the next. The books are all standalone but you miss out on the delight of the series of you don't read them all.

This was such a good story with great characters, of course, when Ramsay & Grant clans are included! I loved the interaction between Father, Logan and Son, Gavin and the building of friendship/love with Merewen. The story was fun of suspense, action, friendships and love. I cannot wait to see what Gregor and Connor find on their searches for answers in Edinborough.

I highly recommend this book to all historical romance readers - you will enjoy the trip to the past!

Keira Montclair has done it again. I'm amazed that she is able to write so many books about the same family yet the reader never feels as if they are reading the same book over and over. As with all her other books, I was not able to put this one down. I can't wait to see how this story plays out in the next book. I'm glad I received an ARC copy, but I'll still be buying it as well.

Gavin!

The latest in the Clan Grant/Ramsey series truly lives up to its predecessors. Gavin and Gregory have grown up, and joining with the Band of Cousins, are trying to eliminate a slavery ring. Connor is along as well, as the three Ramsey warriors walk deftly intertwined lives.

Love the cousins

Gavin's story was interesting and enjoy the cousins. I like how this author incorporates the original characters a little in these stories, however, I found the interaction between Gavin and Logan to be a bit weak. Not sure how to describe it,but Logan was a very strong charter and I just thought this storyline didn't support that.

I think I know why Gregor can't wait to rescue Linet..

I really love reading most stories that have anything to do with Vikings, Scotland, Pirates and Vampire. That's definitely a diverse group of MEN BUT they ALL have something in common they ALL are Fiercely loyal to their Mate's and Family.

Another great book! Have read a lot of her books and have to find a bad one. This one has action from the start all the way to the end. You get plenty of action, intrigue, romance and even an adventure or two. All the main characters are easy to like and connect with. A great story that you should definitely read! I’ve already bought the next one
