The Merriams #2

Love Among Lavender

Rate this book
Millions of readers have fallen in love with Ava's bestselling books...come join the family.

International Bestselling Author Ava Miles’ new family series, The Merriams, is back with a good guy trying to get his bad boy on, a good girl starting a risky perfume venture, and everyone’s favorite matchmakers.

Beau Masters wants to be a bad boy.

All his life, he’s been careful to be the good guy country singer, the boy-next-door, who opens doors for ladies and says “aw, shucks, ma’am.” But a decades-old secret blows the hinges off the door to his life. Everything he thought he knew has scattered to the wind, leaving him questioning who he really is.

So when Caitlyn Merriam asks him to be the celebrity spokesperson for the new perfume she’s creating in far-off Provence, he swaps out his white cowboy hat for a black one and packs his bags to get away from the past.

Caitlyn didn’t expect the gorgeous rockstar to join her in her quaint farmhouse in the French countryside. She figures it will only worsen her crush on him. But as Beau tries to get his bad boy on (rather unsuccessfully, in her opinion), she knows something is wrong and calls in back-up. Uncle Arthur and Aunt Clara might be bent on matchmaking these days, but they know how to straighten someone out, and Caitlyn needs all the help she can get to keep her spokesperson on track.

But soon it’s not just about business, and they’re holding hands and walking the lavender fields together. Until Beau’s secret threatens to bring down her new venture and the love blossoming between them.

Another excellent book!! They keep getting better and better and harder to put down and go to sleep after you start reading. Love Among Lavender is book 2 of the Merriam Series. This book can be read as a standalone but is much better if you read book one first.
Love Among Lavender is the story of Beau Masters and Caitlyn Merriam. Beau Masters is a country music singer. Caitlyn Merriam works for her family’s company, Merriam Enterprise, in a subsidiary of it making perfume. Caitlyn believes Beau would be perfect as a spokesperson for her new line of perfume, one for women with a man selling it.
I won’t tell you more, other than there are always events in our lives that happen that make use decide our fate and this is not exception. These obstacles are what makes us who we are and what shapes us in our lives.
Ava Miles has a way of dragging us in and you feel like you are right there experiencing the story unfold with the characters. I love how in this series we are learning about new crafts; the first story was hand dying yarn and now this one is the perfume industry. I appreciate all the work that goes into learning and writing about these processes.

This series is by far my favorite, the amazing characters the unique animals that steal the show. This is a must read if you want love and laughter in your life. You will want to read Ava Miles other series after you read this one.

Caitlyn and Beau have a beautiful love story. But it wasn't an easy one. The journey took them on a route of self discovery and change. Filled with such passion and despair, love and laughter, Love Among Lavender is a compelling read that will keep you turning the pages.

Caitlyn has a vision for her perfume. To make every woman feel adored and cherished like she should. And Beau Masters is the perfect spokesman. And seeing him in person takes her breath away even more. Now if she can only get his signature on the contract.

Beau is blown away by Caitlyn. And her idea for her perfume. It goes along perfectly with the meaning of his new album. Roots. But an earth shattering discovery shakes Beau to his core. So he finds himself on a plane with Caitlyn heading to France and the most beautiful lavender fields he's ever seen.

He has lost himself with the news. And with it his song. But with his love for Caitlyn growing, and her master perfumer Ibraham helping him Beau will find his own path. One that is much different than his old image.

Caitlyn can't believe how she has grown to love Beau. But a betrayal she never saw coming tears them apart. Will they be able to come back from this or will their love among lavender be as empty as the harvested fields??

Ava Miles is just magical!

I have loved every Ava Miles book I have read and I have read a lot! So I wasn't surprised when I enjoyed this book so much I could not put it down. To begin with Ava always seems to take the reader to some lovely destinations. In Love Among Lavender, she takes us to Province,France. I have never liked France but I found myself intrigued by Ava Miles descriptions of the lavender fields and women harvesting flowers by hand while babies lie in baskets at their feet. The people , the food and moonlight walks down quaint village streets, spoke to my heart and soul of peace and love. With Eva's books I find myself exploring, learning about country music, or the world of professional poker or in this case the perfume industry. But in this case it is so much more then just making a new scent, perfume making is a metaphor for discovering who we are as human beings, our personalities, hopes ,desires and finding our worth and personal truth. Her characters are alive, real humans we can relate to,identify with. Through her writing she sheds a light on real human conditions, homelessness, domestic abuse, family conflicts. Yet, she shows how with love and support, a community, a person can grow and mature and become a better self. I love how in this series Uncle Arthur and Aunt Clara provide wisdom and guidance while performing matchmaking miracles. It's hard not to love these octogenarian who go out of their way to prove that age is just a number! And the Perfume Jedi, the master perfume blender, was a wonderful character with his wisdom and understanding of human condition. Reading Love Among Lavender made me feel like I was part of the Merriam family. I was filled with feelings of being loved and valued and a sense of truly belonging to this world of love I was reading. Yes, reading Ava Miles' novels is like coming home for the holidays! Magical!

Love Among Lavender
by Ava Miles

Talk about an effective hook! A gorgeous man to be the spokesperson for a female perfume! Caitlyn’s enthusiasm and personality for her concept will convince Beau to jump in. Caitlyn and Beau's first meeting kicks things off and it doesn’t slow down from there. Their attraction is evident from the first meeting and you will find yourself wrapped up in their journey.

The description of the area and the process for perfume making was great! I felt like I was learning something new and exciting. You could see the lavender fields just from Ava’s description. Now to go there!

The Dare Valley and the Merriam series make you feel a part of their story and each book continues the thread from previous books.

Caitlyn and Beau are both on their own personal journeys and in that they are discovering truths about themselves. While some stretch their talents and others challenge their inner strength. Caitlyn wants to lead and striving to “prove” she can lead a successful project for the company. Beau is struggling with recently revealed personal information that will test his fortitude to be his own person. It is beautiful to watch their relationship thrive and grow. Grab your copy to watch their love blossom into a lasting lifelong love.

Love Love Love this book, the second book in The Merriams series has everything from the Perfume Jedi to Chou-Chou the orphaned baby goat.
Beau Masters the famous country singer has just turned 30 and found out the man he though was his father isn't, he asks his mother who is also his manager but she refuses to tell him.
Caitlyn Merriam works within her families company making perfume. She approaches Beau about being in the advertising for the new perfume, there is an instant connection between the two of the them, they both agree they are kindred spirits. When Beau's mama won't help him with his father he decides to go and visit Caitlyn in Provence where her Lavender farm is.
Once he arrives everything starts to feel fresh and new, although he still has his demons from his father haunting him. A baby orphaned goat comes to his side and sits in the fields with him while he is writing new material for his upcoming album.
Ibrahim the perfume Jedi has magical ways to help both Caitlyn and Beau work out why things have happened in their lives, can he help to save their new romance or will Beau's mama win.
You can't help but love the characters in these stories and you won't be disappointed after reading them.
I can't wait for the next installment of this wonderful story.

Once again, another excellent book and series! I was sad for the ending of the Dare Valley series but the Merriams will be another great one, not to be missed.
“Love Among Lavender” is book2 from the Merriam Series. Ava does it again with the way she describes the area and the process for perfume making. You can smell and feel the beautiful lavender fields just from Ava’s description. My family and I will be in France next month and one of the excursions we are doing is to a lavender factory. I was inspired by this great book. By reading the story, I felt as been there.

This is the romance of Beau Masters, a country music singer, and Caitlyn Merriam, an entrepreneur. Caitlyn Merriam works for Merriam Enterprise making perfume. Caitlyn believes Beau would be perfect as a spokesperson and role model for her new perfume line. Soon after meeting each other, their attraction and love becomes the center of their lives. I love that Aunt Clara and Uncle Arthur show up once again with their matchmaking tricks. Live Beau and Caitlyn lifelong romance.

*Not what you think* Great Beach Read with a Humanist Surprising Caveat

I’ve been reading romance novels since I was 12, there’s a formula. It’s there for a reason, because it works. For the most part this book follows the formulation, but it adds in some generational differences in love. This is a part that I think I appreciate as an older person understanding that there’s lessons to be learned there that aren’t talked about. I think that people my age, but also younger people (and I’m only 43) could respect the level of love that is different in both age and/or maturity from what they think and know. It lends to the story of young love, while not making it a central theme in each book, and adds to the recipe. I will say, I love detailed stories and well hashed and rounded out characters. I knew this wasn’t a 600 page epic, but it does touch on tougher and nuanced topics that are often completely avoided usually, and I respect that.
Overall, a good read, well written, I would love to dive into all of these characters to deep depths, but get it. I cried (in every book) and laughed. Genuinely. Always a mark of an amazing author. If I feel like the characters are “friends” that I know, it’s a solid book. This is that.

What a beautifully written, sweet, love story - and I can't stand lavender! Such a lovely story between Caitlyn Merrium and Beau Masters. Caitlyn is determined to show everyone, including herself, that women deserve to be cherished, just the way they are. Taking a step out of her comfort zone, she secures funding to create a new perfume that embodies all that women are. But. She needs a spokesperson. Not just any spokesperson. The RIGHT spokesperson. Enter Beau Masters. The country star everyone loves, and all around good guy. Beau is intrigued by Caitlyn's proposal, and wants to know more. He has a secret of his own though. One that bursts him terribly. Together, they work to find the perfect ingredients for the scent, and with a little help from Uncle Arthur (my favourite of all Ava's characters), they also learn about true love. How it never demands it's own way, or requires payment of any sort. I absolutely loved this book, and I cannot recommend it higher than this. Read it. You'll be glad you did.

This is the second book in the series and the charm of this series continues on with this book. When reading this one I could see the rolling lavender fields and could easily picture the scenery of France. It painted such a beautiful whimsical picture in my mind. I love the feels that this book brought. It's definitely a make you feel good story. My heart goes out to Beau because his life is turned completely upside down. He's on a journey to find his self, but along the way will he lose the true essence of himself? I loved the baby goat. So adorable and those scenes make you swoon picturing the goat with Beau. I loved Caitlyn and her message she wants to get out with the perfume she is creating. The whole process of creating the perfume is so cool and intriguing. I really enjoyed learning the process. Another thing about this book it made the characters really think about themselves, but it made me stop and think as a reader as well. It's a beautiful love story that pulls all the emotions from the reader, but with Arthur and Clara humor is present as well. It's a book the easily pulls you in.

Excellent book!! Love Among Lavender is book 2 of the Merriam Series. This book can be read as a stand alone but is much better if you read book one first. I promise, book one is fabulous!

This is the book of Beau Masters and Caitlyn Merriam. Beau Masters is a country music singer. His mother has been his manager. Caitlyn Merriam works a portion of Merriam Enterprise making perfume. Caitlyn believes Beau would be perfect as a spokesperson for her new line of perfume.

There are amazing characters in this book. I adore Ibrahim and would love to talk with him. There also is an amazing orphaned baby goat Chou Chou that falls in love with Beau.

There are many feelings as well. Without giving spoilers, there is family drama, lies and love. This is a thought provoking book. It makes me feel great and I would highly recommend this book.

I read this type of romance novels frequently. So I usually can tell you well ahead of the end of the book what's going to happen... the man and woman meet, work out some sort of issue that is keeping them apart, fall in love, then something happens that jeopardizes their love, they work it out, and live happily ever after. That being said, this novel was no different. But, and this is the BIG DIFFERENCE between this book and others I've read, this book has me in tears near the end. That NEVER happens when I read this type of book because I know where it's headed. I knew this one was headed to the same end, but it took me a different route... which was right through my heart! It was so well written, and the characters fleshed out so well, there was a part near the end that really grabbed me by the heart strings, which I did not anticipate. In this book Ava Miles took the "ordinary", and added in some "unexpected". It ended like I knew it would. I just didn't expect the extra tugs on the heart strings. Well played, Ava Miles, well played.

This is one of my favorite series yet by Ava Miles. I was so sad with the completion of the Dare Valley books - but this Merriams series is just fantastic. I think that weaving in the Rye connection was also something special. The story between Beau and Caitlyn is a magical story, filled with the ups and downs of a real relationship. the song lyrics and the spark between the 2 was masterful. the idea of a perfume and both Beau and Caitlyn finding their truth was a beautifully woven story. I think that Ava Miles is an expert story teller and she expertly spins the love story while adding in the comedy of Uncle Arthur and Aunt Clara - who are just the best parts of these series. I absolutely cannot wait for the next story in the series. I'm dying to find out who eventually can get the heart of Quinn Merriam!

I did receive an advance copy of the book for review purposes but the review/thoughts are my own.

This is the second book in the Merrion series but can be read as a stand alone as well this is the story of Caitlyn Merrium and Beau Masters.

Caitlyn is starting her own perfume line and is looking for the perfect person to be her spokesperson and she thinks she’s found him in Beau an all American Country music star. Beau is going through a lot of upheaval in his life and is starting to question everything about his life after an invitation from Caitlyn he decides so join her on her lavender farm in France where he can find himself sitting in the fields with an orphan goat named Chou-Chou.

This book has lots of characters from previous books including Uncle Arthur Hale and wife Clara. I highly recommend reading this book and am looking forward to the next in the series.

Beau, Caitlyn, and the Truth! 4***** Spoiler Alert!

Beau Masters, a Country-Western Singer, in the midst of an identity crisis, concerning his father and his Mother's managerial style, fled to France with Caitlyn after she pitched him her new perfume line and his spokesperson role. There they become 'kindred spirits', fall in love with each other as Beau battles with his new developing, identity. His mental songwriter' s block was kick-started into high gear and in the end his new album was a success, Mom was fired, and he professed and showed Caitlyn how much he truly loved her.

Loved the Perfume Jedi deep, philosophical character as he and all characters work through their personal angst, even Chou-Chou, the orphaned baby goat. Awesome quotes laced this novel, with honesty to self as the main theme 'du jour'. A worthy read as it touches ever so briefly on the societal’s stigma placed on children of biracial/ out of wedlock offspring.

The second book in the Merriams series: Sister Caitlyn Merriam gets the greenlight from her family's company to develop a new perfume - and to engage country western star Beau Masters as her company spokesperson. Beau is a hottie - and Caitlyn is excited when he agrees to meet with her personally. Sparks fly at their meeting and they are both smitten with each other. Moments later, Beau discovers his mother/manager has been lying to him all of his life, and the man he believed to be his father is not his biological father. This would be shocking enough, but his mother refuses to tell him who is biological father is! In a fit of Anger, Beau travels to Caitlin's flower farm in Provance, France to find himself and his roots and hopefully help develop a new perfume. He finds all of that and more: orphaned baby goat chou-chou, perfume "Jedi" Ibrahim, aunt Clara and uncle Arthur along with the rest of the Merriam crowd and a true love in Caitlyn.

Sensory overload in the best of ways!

I absolutely fell in love with this series from the moment I discovered it. Each book is about a different sibling of the Merriam family. To say no sibling is alike is an understatement 😉. Twin souls finding out who they actually are to their very core, while spending time on a lavender farm in France brings about many different emotions. Love of every kind is a primary theme here....love of self, family, friends and more. Fall in love with the landscape, scents, culture and family while you get to know our beloved main characters. With each consecutive book within this series we've gotten a finer understanding of all the family members. While its not a necessity to have read the other books, it can give you a deeper understanding of everyone within the series....plus they're just plain fun and exciting reads.

I love the Merriam family. Arthur and Clara are up to their matchmaking tricks again. Caitlyn is making perfume and she wants Beau to be the spokesperson. When they meet, it is an instant attraction, but business is business. Beau wants to do it, but he has a couple of conditions. Caitlyn agrees and starts to head back to France. Beau's mama/manager is withholding some information from him and decides that she always knows best. Beau has had enough and decides he needs time away. So, he goes to France with Caitlyn. Beau is wrestling with some hard things and knows something needs to change. Boy do they change. Can Caitlyn accept the new Beau? Will his fans accept the new Beau? They now have mixed business with personal, can they do that and have their relationship survive?

Love Among Lavender, follows the love story of Caitlyn Merriam, a budding perfume enthusiast and good guy country singer Beau. Another insta love romances from Ava Miles, this one though felt a little far fetched.

Caitlyn was a standout in the last book and the character exposition in this books was remarkable. I do not see why the spokesperson for this new venture had to be Beau (Other then the fact that Caitlyn was infatuated with him.) I, however, did like the portrayal of the identity crisis he went through.

Ibrahim, the Perfume Jedi, was a great, kindered sprit to the two protagonists, the art of perfumery and how it connected to their lives was inspired. The Hales were visiting, of course, putting their matchmaking skills to good use. This book also brought back beloved characters from the Dare River series and if was an interesting pseudo continuation (which I loved).

The book can be read as a stand alone even though its part of a series. This series seems to be giving us wonderfully complex villians, along with a good dose of animal love and that's something that makes me want to read more books in this series. Next is Michaela's story.

I read the first in this series and I was really thrilled with the first book.
In comparison with the first book this book was a letdown
Beau has a conflict. He doesn't know who his father and he is trying to find his roots. That is the conflict in this book. There is no powerful conflict here.
Beau and Caitlyn connect. They call each other 'kindered spirits'. Then he and caitlyn find a kindred spirit in Ibrahim.
The whole kindred spirit thing of everyone finding everyone a kindred spirit was a bit much I thought.
Beau was not a very complex, interesting character. Caitlyn too was OK but not fantastic.
It was a decent book, good chemistry between the characters. It was not having too much of sex scenes so a clean book. But I think book 1 set a different standard and this didn't meet that

For me this book was the best one so far. I guess the reason is it hit home for me. Anyway, I loved Beau and Caitlyn's love story. I hated the pain Beau's mom put him through about who is father really was. I was so happy when he learned the truth. When I can relate to the main characters like I did Beau and Caitlyn my heart broke when theirs did. I cried a lot reading this book. I also enjoyed how Beau took care of Chou-Chou. Ava you out did yourself on this book and I thank you.

This book is just one of the many examples why Ava Miles has found herself on the international best seller list. The author has the reader feel like they are walking through the lavender right along with the couple.

Caitlyn Merriam finds herself secluded in her French farmhouse with good boy, turned wanna be bad boy, Beau Masters. Caitlyn a pretty smart cookie and knows that something is up. So reinforcements are called in. Uncle Arthur and Aunt Clara are brought in to straighten out our country singer with an identity crisis. The story delivers such heart. And it is very tastefully written.

Another great story in The Merriam's series. Beau has been under his mother's control for all his life. When he discovers a family secret that changes his whole perspective, he jumps at the chance to work with Caitlyn on a new fragrance. Little did he know that a trip to France would change his outlook and question the facts of his life.

As Caitlyn gets to know Beau and realize the challenges he's facing, her concern grows. They can't ignore the growing feelings, but Beau's mother intervened and all he'll breaks loose.

A wonderful story of trust, comittment, family and kindred spirits. Now on to Michaela's story!

Beautiful story

Compelling and lovable characters, a well written and superbly edited super-sweet story about finding personal strength, self-love, and courage, and learning to embrace life, family, and love against the odds.

Pretty good chance this one will at least make you tear up at some point. Or several times. Experiences may vary.

Like book 1 in the series, there is a very cute animal character- an orphaned baby goat. It's funny, sweet, and a bit sad, but it works. I still love the alpaca from book 1 the best!

R for explicit sexual content and mild language. No violence.

LOVE AMONG LAVENDER
This is a truly beautiful book with its roots in truth and self-love. I loved each of the characters – Caitlyn, Beau & Ibrahim. I loved the connections between them and the incredible story that Ava has woven. It is reach, heart-felt, warm and, I believe, one of Ava’s best books to date. Read it and re-read it like I did. Thank you AVA!

Every time I think Ava Miles could NOT possibly write anything better, she dazzles me with yet another OUTSTANDING book!!!! It was wonderful to feel like I caught up with old friends from her previous novels. I never cry in real life but this book was so good that I couldn't help myself....I even cried when the hunk went back to say goodbye to a GOAT!!! The romance in this novel made me think that Ava Miles' husband must be quite wonderful, to inspire such wonder!!!!

This is the first book I've read by this author and I will definitely be looking at more of her work. A beautiful story you don't want to stop reading. It's filled with love, laughter and wonderful romance. If you haven't read the fist book, you won't be too lost reading this one first. Although after you read this one you'll want to go back and read the previous book.
