Wedding Bells and Midnight Spells

Rate this book
YOU THINK YOU KNOW THE WORLD OF MAGICAL BOARDING SCHOOLS? NOT FROM A TEACHER’S PERSPECTIVE AT A SCHOOL FOR AT-RISK YOUTH. Clarissa Lawrence wishes that for once in her life everything would go smoothly and according to plan. She would like a fairy tale wedding—minus an uninvited Fae and a unicorn stampede running amok. A smooth wedding might be a wish even a djinn can’t grant considering the Raven Queen is set on abducting Clarissa, an ex with a hex has found out about her plans to marry and has vowed to kill the groom, and the wickedest witch in all the land insists on being her maid of honor. There’s nothing like a prophecy predicting the groom’s death to put a damper on a wedding. If it isn’t an evil fairy godmother crashing a wedding, it’s steampunk pirates with a crazy hex-boyfriend trying to ruin her special day.Clarissa really would like to be good and not kill anyone on her wedding day, but who she sides with—and against—may depend on the man she chooses to be with in the end.Adult Get a little more cozy with this hexy mystery.

*** I received an ARC from the author in exchange for my honest review

Clarissa is getting married to Thatch, and it is turning out to be the headache of the century. Vega has declared herself Maid of Honor (I mean really, why would Clarissa get to pick her own Maid of Honor?) and has completely taken over the wedding preparations. There is the constant threat from the Raven Queen hanging over their heads, and then after the ceremony she has to deal with steampunk pirates (don't ask... you will just have to read it to see). This book was a lot of fun, but there were also some sad bits that aren't usually present in the Womby books. You definitely need to read this book and the entire series!

Once again, this author had me sitting on the edge of my seat
wondering what was going to happen to who ever at that
particular moment. And then it happens and it leaves me
saying OMG!..

Can't wait for the next book to come out!

I had such high hopes for this book... Clarissa and Thatch are finally getting married!!! But then as always Clarissa messes everything up with good intentions. We have gone right back to step one and Clarissa is having Derrick issues again and no longer trusts Thatch after everything they have been through together. After working through all their trust issues and what happened with the Raven Queen and the Princess of lies and truth she has reverted back to thinking he is up to no good. Clarissa has the same trust issues with Vega who is a psychopath but has always had her back and helps and protects her but Clarissa some how trusts Josie more. Josie is judgemental, vain, mean and incredibly insecure and not to mention immature.

I truly hope Clarissa wakes up and realizes she loves Thatch again. I love their love story and have loved this series upto this point.

If you don't read the previous books in the series, you just won't have a full appreciation of the references and humor of this, Book 14. Start with 'Tardy Bells and Witches’ Spells' Book 1 for greatest enjoyment, and read sequentially in order.
Felix finally "popped the question" and Clarissa said yes. What could possibly go wrong? Thatch counts the ways. The devil is in the details: wardrobe, bridesmaids, timing, keeping it secret from the Fae. is there a message (or warning) from Derrick? He does not take kindly to the news of Clarissa's coming wedding. Could the wedding actually go off without a hitch? No way! Disaster strikes, and Death comes to many as the Raven Court attacks and Clarissa is kidnapped by 'pirates'. After a thrilling rescue, Clarissa and Thatch decide to undertake a dangerous mission that may be the subject of the next book, "Hex Appeal". Can't wait to start...

Clarissa and Thatch are engaged! He wanted to keep it a secret at first fearing there would be trouble if it went public. That didn't even last out a day. Clarissa's students tricked it out of her. By evening it was all over the school and Vega and Gertrude gave her a surprise wedding shower. After telling Thatch, it was decided they should get married asap but Clarissa didn't want to elope. Vega organized a beautiful wedding on the school grounds. Elric appeared to give his blessing and well wishes. Just as they were pronounced man and wife, the Raven Queen and her harpies crashed the wedding and Derrick showed up in the air ship and kidnapped Clarissa. Everything is in chaos. How did the Fae get past all the security wards? Who's responsible?
Where is Clarissa's fairy godmother? Some issues are resolved, others will be in the next book. A lot of adult sexual content.

Clarissa gets attacked (again.) Vega wants to be her maid of honor when she marries Thatch, saying that Clarissa then will be her maid of honor when she marries Elric. Derrick may be after Clarissa. Vega moves from being maid of honor to being in charge of the wedding.

Things get sort of complicated when aerial pirates attack, there's bees and ravens, a prophecy about Clarissa being killed before she turns 25 (not very long from then), an aerial battle and a very sad thing happens to Vega. Something very personal and also sad happens to Clarissa.

There's a lot going on in this story and the characters still remain interesting.

Everybody loves a great wedding — this ain’t one!
Finally, Clarissa and Felix take a trip down the aisle, but they’re interrupted when her hex-lover, Derrick, working with the Raven Queen, kidnaps her. I was gob-smacked by the twists and turns in this story — there are enough for two or three books. Characters are injured, some die, some are taken. It’s Dark Magic versus the forces of good, with major pressures and temptations for Clarissa. This book is the most involved of the series and has ramifications for the happiness of the Thatches! It’s a great story!

I was not able to get to a couple of books before this one. So it had a lot of surprises for me. Like getting married to Felix Thatch, where was Derrick and so forth. All that aside I love the book and the story line. Will definitely have to catch up.

This is why you read the books as they come out and keep up with the series at this point .

So I apologize. I read this book in March and so how forgot to do a review.

This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.

entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series

This is an entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series. Great cast of characters and an entertaining storyline. Once again Clarissa and the teachers at mummies school for waiver wedges are battling evil and trying to save the students and themselves and other criminals from the evil Faye. The day Clarissa‘s wedding is coming up And there are always stories about evil Fay disrupting marriages where they have a vested interest. Read and see what kind of trouble they get into this time. Enjoy

Felix Thatch has finally publicly embraced his love for Clarissa. He is pushing for a fast wedding amongst dooming prophecy. Vega agrees to plan because she has voiced that Clarissa is her best friend. Actually, Vega was my favorite during this installment. The wedding does not go off without issues. There’s a lot of sadness associated with what should have been a day filled with joy. The wedding planning and multiple maids of honor was hilarious.

Finally, we have a wedding!

Felix decides to fast-track his wedding to Clarissa, but it still needs to be a secret from the students. Vega votes herself maid-of-honor after admitting that Clarissa is her best friend. Unicorns, a fairy godmother, and steampunk pirates? You really need to read this one to believe it! Definite sad parts to this one and everything else we love about these books.

I received an ARC. This is my honest review.

A Truly Intriguing Tale!

Just when you believe you know what's happened and prepare for more, you get amazing understanding you were wrong! I love how 's. Dorie keeps the main storyline alive from book to book. I will admit there was an incident that was unexpected and sad yet it didn't keep the story from being enjoyable. Looking forward to much more!

*I just love this series. Everything you think you know..well you don't. Did you really expect the wedding to go off without a hitch? We've got witches, pirates and just general melt downs. Have fun reading this book and all the others.

fun book but not an ideal wedding for sure. Sarina throws in all manners of twists and turns in her books. She keeps everything interesting and occasionally a little on the "hot" side. Her characters are fun . Glad to be able to review this book

Excellent

Excellent! Fantastic! Amazing! This book was so great, and yet at the same time so many things I didn't want when I first started reading this series. I am so happy for Clarissa and Felix and so sad about Derrick, but you can't fix evil sometimes.

I'm bored. And tired if the same repetitive bullshit. Yes, it's funny, yes there's sex and drama and comedy. But it's the SAME sex and drama and comedy. Move on already.

I usually love these books but this I found myself getting annoyed with Clarissa and her self centred ways. Unfortunately she would not leave Derrick alone and then told him she was getting married to Thatch which of course upset him into kidnapping her on her wedding. People got hurt, people got killed. Overall this book left a bad taste in my mouth. I hope the next on is more enjoyable and Clarissa pulls herself together.
