Rock Bannon has a heart as big as the Rocky Mountains that surround his quiet home, but he's always known that romance wasn't in the cards for him. Instead, the big man does his best to see that others around him are happy and safe. A man riding for the brand doesn't have time for silly things like love. Mary Ellen Bigsby is off on an adventure to the home of her favorite writer. She knows it is a frivolous journey, but she wants this one trip before she's too old to travel. The young Indian brave will do anything to win the hand of Matrice and start a happy home of their own but can't seem to overcome her father's resistance. When Matrice suggests running away together, Francis has to make the hardest decision of his life. Will true love win the day or will two young people be pulled apart by one man's stubbornness? What revelations await the quiet cowboy when a tiny teacher arrives in Biders Clump?
Danni Roan, born in rural western Pennsylvania, has always loved the country life. Her first work published under her real name, Paula Liddle-Beem, is a collection of folk essays about childhood in the lush, green mountains of PA. Being a teacher of English and English as a Second Language for the past twelve years has only inspired Danni’s love of writing Western Historical Fiction. After receiving her Masters of Education in Teaching English as a Foreign Language she determined to indulge her passion for fiction writing. Teaching both in the USA and abroad has exposed Danni to a wide range of people from all walks of life and she tries to capture that unique character in her work.
Everyone of Danni Roan's books in the Tales Of Biders Clump have wonderful stories, however I think Rock's Revelation is my favorite! The character, Rock Bannon has been apart of each of the books in the series. He has grown to be a character I always look for in the stories. I loved reading about how he, too. found his special love.
Rock Bannon has waited a long time for love. It seems like with a man who has a big heart it would have come about earlier in his life. He is a big man along with his big heart. Love hasn't arrived yet in his life. Mary Ellen Bigsby considers herself a spinster. A lifelong teacher recently let go from her position, she decides to go out and see the town of Biders Clump where her favorite Author lives. Can Mary Ellen sooth Rock's soul and bring love to a Man that thought he was to live his life alone? Will Rock see in time that he has finally met his future? Danni Roan's characters in the town of Biders Clump not only accept anyone that chooses to stop a while and live among them, but they open your heart to life as we hope it can be. Loving, caring and happy. You will truly enjoy reading this book while you get to know the back characters as well as the main characters. Truly a beautiful story in a beautiful setting. I received an ARC of this book and am choosing to leave an honest review.
Rock has been a ranch hand on the Adams' ranch since the three sisters were born. He's a huge hulking man, but with a very kind and gentle heart. He's never had a sweetheart and is now in his early 40's.
Mary Ellen considers herself a spinster now that she's in her mid 30's and has never had a beau. She's newly retired from her teaching job in N Carolina, and has fallen in love with Quil's books. She decides to take a trip to Wyoming and meet her favorite author, as well as see the Wild West.
When Mary Ellen gets off the train, the first person she meets is Rock. Will the sparks fly?
I also enjoyed the side story of Francis and a new comer to Biders Clump, Matrice.
I only wish the epilogue would have been more about Rock and Mary Ellen.
This was another great read!! I loved Rock and Mary Ellen's story!! I especially like the fact that they are over 40, and found love for the first time together. Love can come at any age, and just because it comes later doesn't mean it isn't as great as if it comes younger. In fact, it can be better later because of the maturity that's taken place, and shows that you can live a very fulfilling life without being married. Mary Ellen really wasn't looking for love, but it sure found her!!! Rock didn't expect to, either, and certainly not with a woman like Mary Ellen!! You just can't tell until love finds you!!
Rock and Mary Ellen are such great characters. Their sweet friendship sucks the readers in and makes us want to sit a spell and visit. The supporting characters of Buders Clump add lots of fun and laughs. This sweet little book offers a bonus romance with Francis and Matrice. Not only do we get a couple many would think has passed the marrying age, but we also get a young couple just starting life who can’t bear the thought of life separating them. The author does both relationships justice and leaves readers smiling!
Rock- been with the Adams family's ranch since he was 15 Mary Ellen - a spinster teacher from NC who wants to meet her favorite Author. Couple 2 Francis - Indian from the mission came to give a message and staying to help the dr till weather is better. Martice- with her mom and 2 siblings waiting till their dad catches up to them I enjoyed reading this intriguing story that is fantastically written with charismatic characters and wonderful storylines. Both of their stories has a sweet HEA !.
A book that has many wonderful character that will have you wishing you resided in Biders Clump. I love this little town and how Rock is such a part of it. The author does a wonderful job of keeping you guessing of what happens with Mary Ellen in this story. The end was fabulous and has me crossing my fingers for another book in Biders Clump. Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
Rock was a ranch hand and we'll on his way to being a confirmed bachelor. Mary Ellen was , as she called her self an old maid school teacher. She decided she wanted to meet her favorite author, Aquila Cameron. She meets Rock and they become friends. They decide to pretend they are courting since neither has had a courting experience. What will become of this courtship? This is a fun and exciting story that you will enjoy.
Danni Roan grabbed me with the opening of chapter one. I could totally picture Miss Bigsby except I had her much older. With her frequent referral to herself as a “old spinster” I was surprised by her true age of mid 30’s. I could picture the “oversized” Rock with the petite Mary Ellen. Their courtship was so gentle and gradual, that it was no surprise that he almost let her get away. I totally recommend this book.
This is Book Eleven in the series and the sad part of it is, I haven’t read all the other books. Yes, I’ve read some of the series but not all so I did feel a bit lost once in awhile. There is a lot happening in this small town and everyone seems welcome, no matter their heritage, income, reputation or talents to earn a living. It’s a fun and lighthearted story-line.
Rock at forty two looks after the needs of others, for his joy and happiness When the school spinster Mary Ellen comes having handed her duties as a teacher to someone younger. For a dream to meet the author and to see the mountains as she describes them. Finding love was not expected and convincing Rock of it. Cute story and good series.
Rock is a ranch hand who meets displaced school teacher Mary Ellen
Mary Ellen, having had to stop teaching in the small town she taught for many years, because the town thought a male teacher would keep more discipline, visits the area where her favourite author lives and writes. What happens next is a revelation to her and others.
This author knows how to plot and how to draw interesting characters, but unless you enjoy reading a series straight through you may find this book irritating. A good deal of it is taken up by references to earlier volumes, information that appears to have no relevance in this story. I was also put off by poor editing.
In the 1800’s, a person over 35 is considered “old”. This’s a sweet little story of two lonely people finding each other and a wonderful relationship. NEGATIVE COMMENT...The proofreading for this book was non existent! Few times I was at a loss as to content as spelling and appropriate punctuation was so bad.
These books are about the good people of a small town. Their hardships, love and joy. You will find yourself smiling while you read because each story touches your heart.
I loved this book. Francis and Matrice got married, that was exciting, and Rock and Mary Ellen had fake relationship, I loved the ending at the Train Station. Sweet way to end a good book. Thanks Danni Roan.
What a great, clean, easy to read, relaxing and tense, well written, comfortable book to read! Somehow you take on the problems and joys of the people of this community and want to know them better! Good reading!
Rock has been a rock for the Adams family throughout their difficulties and eventual marriage of all four ladies. He finds himself attracted to itsy bitsy Mary Ellen!
When she was replaced as school teacher, Mary Ellen decided to travel and visit her favorite author. Little did she expect that she would find the rest of her life also.
A wonderful town I wouldlovetolive in. The hard life was made better because everyone helped one another in this small town. The people were fro all types of backgrounds they learned that you couldn’t do it by yourself
While the story line is good, and the characters lovable, I was distracted by the bad grammar, incorrect punctuation, and misuse of words. The author needs to run her writing through some good proofreaders and editors.
This is a new series to me and I simply loved it! I wish I had started at the beginning and I'm sure I will go back and catch up! Loved the characters and the just neighborly way the town runs! What a great read!
This was a nice quick read. There are lot of characters thrown at you if you havent read any of the previous books. A little confusing at times but not so much to hurt the story. I enjoyed it.
Bider’s Clump is a place in Wyoming developed by kind citizens willing to thrive together during challenges and cheery times. The townspeople are kind to visitors and do a good job of keeping each other informed.
A wonderful and wholesome story with much anticipation as to the outcomes of the lives of four people. I was eager to continue reading and fell totally into the narrative. Well done!
