Bobby is leaving everything he knows behind, embracing the life of a biker, having been entranced with the Brothers of Chaos, a famed biker gang in the region. A young man entering his prime, Bobby is choosing what kind of man he wants to be, and when he meets the Brothers he’s faced with a wake-up call as it’s not what he expected at all. During his initiation he’s faced with a tough choice, and it’s only thanks to Mal, one of the Brothers, that he passes at all. Bobby is instantly taken with Mal, and there’s forbidden passion between the two of them. But lurking in the background is Mal’s ex, Jimi, who still holds a torch for Mal. The three men become involved in a heated love triangle, and there’s only one way out.
I expect more from the books I read. While I enjoyed the writing style, I was disappointed with the plot. One sex scene does not make the relationship and a HEA.
I give this book barely 3* just because I acknowledge the talented writing style of the author. The description of Bobby was the picture of the stereotypical young adult, stubborn, having a dream and pursuing it no matter what. Bobby’s motivation to pursue the not so respectable life of the Brothers of Chaos seemed to emerge out of pure boredom and a romantic dream of life on a bike driving around the country. But he seemed to have absolutely no conscience or autonomous willpower when asked to commit a crime only a few minutes after arriving at the cave of the brotherhood - how can someone brought up in a completely different environment accept without questioning - at least in his mind - the task given to him to show his loyalty.
As for the other two characters, they were the caricatures of two drama queens wearing leather, a dysfunctional couple of two men who surely had problems with the law in the past, but who seemed absolutely fine to trust their more personal issues to a complete stranger, who showed up one evening claiming that he wanted to be a brother.
The entire story plays during less than 24 hours and the author wants the readers to think that it ends with a HEA. But for me it was just an unbelievable story without any real connection between the characters.
Bobby's dream is to be part of a specific biker gang. He finds them after memorizing every detail he can, and has an unlikely initiation interview over a game of pool. He knows all the rules, including the one about nonmembers not knowing club business. (Such as... Their rules? But I digress...)
This is a rough and tumble group of bikers who are happy to burst into fights in defense of true love.
Yeah, you read that right.
Bobby goes for his initiation fight, which doesn't go as well as he'd hoped. Mal, with little medical knowledge getting in his way, patches him back together.
Pause here for a reality check. If I'm reading something marked as MMM, a plot probably isn't my first concern. So, is the plot kinda weak? Yes. Is the smut good? Eh, read this and you decide:
"Bobby gasped for air but still didn’t even try to take his mouth away. He wanted everything Jimi had, every inch and every drop of hot, thick liquid. He closed his eyes and surrendered himself to the erotic bliss that surged through his body, forgetting everything that had ever come before, and anything that would come after. He existed solely in the moment, and was nothing but an instrument of Eros."
Fairly lofty prose for biker smut; the action involves some far-fetched gymnastics and suspension of disbelief. Overall, a quick gratuitous read, resoundingly average.
Male bonding fantasy; Bobby, how far will you go to prove your devotion to the Club?!😲 March 13, 2019 3.5 🌟 stars I was surprised, though not unpleasantly so, that this short novella reserved the passionate clinches for the end and built a story for Bobby, a young man who desperately believes the Brothers of Chaos MC is the one place he can belong. Bobby waxes lyrical and at length about the safe and supportive bond he expects by joining the Club; he seems a bit too confident and articulate for a teenager but he's passionate about his chance to garner acceptance and membership. Of the three main characters, Bobby gets the bulk of the attention and, by the end, seems to take control of things over two of the most senior members of the Club! Jimi and Mal, the other main protagonists, have a sketchy background that could have been explained better. Not realistic, but not badly written and a brief, testosterone-filled, heated fantasy of male bonding and insta-lust.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
I’m pleasantly surprised by this little one. It’s a little naughty but it make a good little afternoon read.
Bobby has wanted to be part of Brothers of Chaos for the longest time. So when he finally as enough money saved he buys himself a bike and go’s to the club. It’s not as easy as showing up and becoming a member he has to prove himself worthy.
Mal and Jimmi run the club and have history together. They can’t be in the same room as one another and there is sparks flying what once was sexual is now anger but maybe they just need something or someone to absorb the sparks between them.
This is a hot little 3 way it all happens in a matter of days but it didn’t feel rushed by any means. I enjoyed these 3 guy and would like to read more about them .
Van Cole's Havoc is a MMM romance with bikers. Bobby, Mal and Jimi are sexy characters. The story is short but fun. A bit of action, a bit of heat and a hint of love. Overall a good read.
I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
This was a wonderful short read. We have members of the Brothers of Chaos MC and then in walks Bobby who wants to join. would have like to get little more detail with Jimi and Mal. Was a good read of what brotherhood does for one another. if looking for a short MC read then you will enjoy this one
Bobby decided he wanted to become a member of the Brotherhood, he was interviewed and then given the chance to audition by showing that you help a brother out when they have a problem. He meets Mal and Jimi who have previously been together, Bobby works out how to have both men even when they can’t stop arguing and butting heads about the same situations. I voluntarily review an ARC copy.
Bike gang stories are not one of my top choices, although I have read a couple, it was the throuple part that got me interested in this tale, I love throuples and these men were all perfect in their own ways. A nice read, lots of talk and little action, that is until just before the end.
Hot hot hot!, a hot book you can't put down. Down and dirty , you need a cold shower hot hot hot. So good I wanted more of them. What I got wasn't enough. I wanted more and read it three times .
This had more of a fanfiction feel to it than anything in the way of an actual plot. It seemed like a bit of a rush to get to the erotic part (which I'm not opposed to, if that's the mood that you're in) and that part is good.
There's little development, the characters open up far too easily, the dialogue is a bit too long winded... But it's not too bad.
If it were longer and more fleshed-out, it would probably make a good book.
Bobby feels like he doesn't belong. All his life he feels like something is missing. That is until he hears about a biker group. Riding into town and going into the bar that's their club, is daunting. But Bobby wants it bad and feels that it's his destiny.
Mel and Jimi are two officers in the MC club. Previous lovers, they are now at odds until Bobby arrives. Helping both men becomes his wish and soon all three men are entangled with each other.
Bobby wants to join a motorcycle club and doesn't realize by doing so he's stepping between Mal and Jimi. Bobby has a solution to their problem, and the three of them ride off into the sunset. This was an interesting take on an MC story there definately was some steaminess going on with the three men.
