18+ for language and sexual situations. Doom Six years ago, I lost everything that meant anything to me. Since then, I've been moving through life in a fog. My club brothers are the only people I can tolerate, and only on a good day. Then 'she' crashes into my life and the pain I've kept buried surfaces again. She's a mirror projecting everything I've lost back at me and I can no longer control the rage I've managed to keep in check. Lyric I am nobody. I've worked hard to make sure I stay a nobody while my sister's career continues to shoot into space. I like my anonymity and the life I've carefully carved out for myself. That is until an angry biker forces me into the spotlight and I have no idea how to stop myself from falling...hard.
New York Times & USA Today Bestselling Author Piper Davenport writes from a place of passion and intrigue, combining elements of romance and suspense with strong modern-day heroes and heroines.
She currently resides in the Pacific Northwest with her author husband, Jack Davenport, and an obnoxious YorkiePoo named Pepper who may or may not be an international spy.
I have to admit, I really wanted Aspen and Doom together. This story changed my mind! It was a great story filled with a lot of heartbreaking moments. They do get their hard fought HEA.
I love this series! All of Piper's Biker books are freaking awesome. I just hate waiting to read more, lol
Doom's story was sad but so good. Doom was not wanting anything to do with relationships or long lasting anything. He went through something horrific and he just can't put himself out there again. Until a car crash happens right in front of his shop and meeting Lyric was so not what he wanted. But he can't deny that this women does something to him. Lyric is a defense attorney and has been looking after her sisters for such a long time that she doesn't know how to be taken care of. So after her accident, her life is a mess (according to her) and meeting Doom was just what she needed. But these two are just two alpha for each other. But someone how they made it work. Doom realizes that maybe Lyric is the women for him and maybe he can put himself out there. But will he be able to cope with the danger his women is in and her wanting to rescue herself and not wait for a man to do it for her?
I love this series. These men are like hard living the life bikers, but it amazes me how they all change when they meet their match. Doom was no different, it took a while but eventually he couldn't deny the feelings he had for Lyric and Lyric had to learn to let her man take care of her... Well sometimes, lol... Definitely a favourite for me! I need the next one Piper!!! Please!!!
Once again, Piper Davenport has written a book that I had a VERY hard time putting down. I loved the addition of the crossover characters added or mentioned in the book. But don’t let that scare you off if you are new to Ms Davenport. I’ve become a fan of her writing, true, but I have yet to read all her previously written books (but I’m slowly working on it). So I didn’t “know” all the crossover characters, but never once felt “lost”.
Doom (such a cheery road name) and Lyric make such a odd duo. She has such a strong, independent personality, she and Doom/Lincoln are bound to bump heads. There are definitely some twists and surprises in store for these two, and that has to be one of the things I liked best about their book.
If you haven’t read Piper Davenport, I urge you to give her books a try. If you’re anything like me, you’ll love the too.
Another fantastic story in this series! I loved Lyric, loved how strong she is, how she doesn't take anything off anyone! And most especially off Doom! No matter how much he might want to control the narrative, she won't back down to anyone unless she believes in the reasons she's being asked to.
Great story, just wish I'd read this and the next before I read Primal Howl.
Quieting the Biker’s Rage is book 4 in the Dogs of Fire MC: Savannah Chapter by Piper Davenport and boy is it full of drama, just the way I like it! The story focuses on Lyric and Doom. They meet when Doom helps Lyric out of a car smash and there is instant attraction, even though Doom blows hot and cold. Although Lyric feels like she lives in her sister’s shadow being quiet and introverted, she is a strong and independent woman (albeit in a moonboot for most of the story) and feels an instant zing when it comes to Doom, if only he would open himself up to her. When they decide to be friends with benefits, it all seems fine until feelings are caught and then the emotions from both characters go all over the place leading to hurt feelings, some violence and some great twist and turns. Sadly, its going to take a lot for these two to get their happily ever after, but some things are just meant to be.
This was a great book with some really strong characters. I really liked Lyric, she knew who she was and what she wanted, she understands Doom and his loss, but won’t put up with the way he speak to her sometimes and when he blows hot and cold. She is a very forgiving person though and seems to punch back at whatever life throws at her. She is definitely a strong character for someone like Doom who like his names suggests can be dark, brooding and distant at times having suffered a significant loss, one which has affected how he views relationships for a long time. He can be cruel at times but reflective and after a lot of back and forth, he knows that Lyric is the one for him, he may just have to do a lot of fighting to keep her, especially with danger lurking around the corner.
Overall, this was a great dive into the Dogs of Fire MC life, it isn’t an easy one, but the relationship between characters and the love, respect and passion they feel for each other makes them a great team. They aren’t going to let people go it alone and this can be seen for how they help both Lyric and Doom throughout the story. If you like suspense, passion and an overall great read, then this is the one for you!
I honestly don't know where to start with this wonderful story. I always enjoy reading the Savannah Chapter, Dogs of Fire. The members are to die for and their old ladies are a total hoot. Lucky for me they play a major part in this story of Doom, VP of the Savannah chapter and Lyric, an attorney.
Doom has a black cloud hanging over his head. He channels his inner Eeyore very well. He seems quite happy being cold, mean and unapproachable. Who chooses to be that miserable?? I thought Doom did, but the I realized he was protecting his heart and I get that. This is one dark guy that is easy to fall for, want to reach within the pages and give him a hug just to watch him squirm.
Lyric is a defense attorney that has a sweetness about her. Her past does not own her. Tragedy does not influence her daily life. She is stronger than her past. I couldn't help but give this woman my respect.
Doom and Lyric are total opposites making their journey to love and a happily ever after all the better. Her inner strength is to be admired and if you are Doom, feared. Lyric is absolutely brilliant. She knows what she is doing. She knows what she wants. No matter what, she protects what is hers and what she loves. She just needs to think a little more before she acts.
The emotional volleying in this story was very entertaining. When they were hot the room steamed up . When they were cold, the room needed a roaring fire. The cheering section of old ladies made it even better. As you can see I really liked the romance side of this story. But it was so much more.
Quieting the Biker's Rage wasn't just a romance. The Portland Biker tensions land right in the lap of the Savannah Chapter. No one is safe. Lives are threatened and tensions continue to grow. They go on the defensive.
It isn't just the club that is in danger. Lyric's past comes back to haunt her. Those around her fear for her life. It is time to circle the bikes and protect their own. Love their own.
I absolutely adore Doom and Lyric! These two are absolutely amazing! Their story touched my heart, and brought feelings of hope to the forefront! I've loved all of the Dogs of Fire MC stories, including the original and Savannah Chapters, but Quieting the Biker's Rage just may be my favorite story yet!
Lyric is a hard working lawyer, who has a run of bad luck. An accident leads to her meeting Doom, and they have an immediate connection, even in the rough circumstances they meet in. She has a good life, overall, but something is missing, and she turns to Doom to fill that void. Doom is a volatile man. He has a secret past that has made him into who he is, affects everything about his life. He is full of darkness, and anger, until Lyric enters his life. He isn't able to deny the pull to her.
Their story is full of anger, and pain. The story of Doom's past made my heart hurt for him. Lyric is exactly what he needs to move past the hurt! The further I read, the more I was convinced that they were absolutely perfect for each other. I loved their connection. This story had everything I want in an amazing story. Plenty of heat, plenty of love, a little mystery, a little danger, and a HEA. What more can you ask for?!?
Another great addition to the Dogs of Fire series! After getting a little bit of Doom in a previous book I was so excited we finally got his full story and Piper did not disappoint! We also tie in people from another series which also made me excited for Lyric after reading about her in Harmony's book. Two people who from the little bit we get in other books definitely deserve happiness finally get it! Doom has his fair share of problems stemming from his past life, and Lyric has been hardened by what she has experienced throughout her life as well. When the two end up meeting on a chance encounter, the chemistry is there but both are hesitant to act on it. When they realize they have mutual friends, they end up giving into that connection and chemistry but do it on their terms. When Lyric's past comes back to haunt her and Doom doesn't feel he is necessarily ready to commit, we wonder if they will ever come back together and if Lyric will be safe. The two have a connection that helps them heal and grow from their past, which makes it such a great storyline! Yet again, the level of suspense really keeps you guessing which keeps me coming back to Piper's books! Overall another great read and I can't wait for the next installment!! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Quieting the Biker’s Rage (book 4) Dogs of Fire MC: Savannah Chapter
Quieting the Biker’s Rage by Piper Davenport is the fourth book in the Savannah Chapter. Dogs of Fire Motorcycle Club are located in various places in the US. These particular novels are set in Savannah. Each book can be read as a stand alone, but you can also read the whole group in order, which is what I choose to do. The club is not a 1% club. They work to stay on the correct side of the law however, sometimes it is really hard.
Doom is always deep within himself and morose. His whole being was with the MC and that was his whole focus. Until he sees Lyric trapped in her car and helps save her. Doom can’t seem to leave her. She is an attorney and keeps her famous sister in check - somewhat. Lyric’s accident leaves her with crutches and needing to lean on her friends and family until she is healed. Doom can not stay away. His past eeks out and Lyric wants to help him move on.
The book was full of hot sexy scenes with language and erotica. It is not a book for everyone, but in truth, I enjoyed reading the novels and enjoyed how the bikers and their families interacted. If you want to read hot MC book, this would be your next read. Quieting the Biker’s Rage (book 4) by Piper Davenport was a good read.
Lyric is my new favorite female character. I love how she doesn't take shut from anybody, especially Doom. The way she puts him in his place is priceless and the banter between them is hilarious. Lyric has a mind of her own, is successful and doesn't necessarily do what Doom wants which drives him up the wall. Lyric slowly breaks through Dooms wall while she opens up about her own past. Unexpected events throws them a curveball where Dooms past catches up with him and he breaks things off. Seeking refuge with her sister Lyric evaluates her feelings for Doom unaware of that he is as crushed as she is. Facing their struggles together they can finally look into their future.
I love how Piper Davenport brings characters from previous books back. It is certainly refreshing and makes the story flow seamlessly. Not only does she write about alpha males but also has strong alpha females in her books. Piper Davenport is an outstanding author who writes books that will grip you from beginning to the end. Once again another incredible read.
What a fantastic story by this talented author!!! I freakin adored Lyric and Doom. He is going through life filled with rage over things that have happened in his past that was beyond his control. He swore that he would never allow himself to feel anything for anyone and built his walls super high. That all changed when Lyric crashed into his life....literally. There is something about her that calls to him and quiets his rage but he knows that he can't let anyone get close so he fights the pull that she seems to have on him. She doesn't put up with his crap and stays away from him. She moves on or at least tries to but fate keeps putting them in the same orbit and eventually Doom can't deny the attraction and makes Lyric his woman. This book was fantastic....was hooked from beginning to end. It was such a great story and I loved it so much. Would recommend this book to all. I can't wait to see what is next for the Dogs...you best believe I will be there to read all about it. Well done!!!!
I love a great MC book and this one was such a page turning of anticipation that i just couldn't put it down! The characters were incredible and all the secondary characters gave so much added depth too their story, it was amazing how these two characters are surrounded by so many people that were interlocked into both of their lives yet they'd met literally by accident. And Doom, oh my goodness, holy hotness, you could just feel his broody, alpha attitude just poor off the pages! I was wondering where i could get my own.... His whole character came off as something beyond desirable, the guy you just want to throw against a wall, ripe his clothes off and climb.... And then you have this female that blows you away because she thinks nothing of talking crap to him and letting him know that she won't be taking none of his sh*t but rather that he'll be the one following orders....such a strong great character! This book gave so much for fans of MC reads! It have me everything i love from this type of book.
I was so fortunate to receive an ARC of this story! Talk about excited. What can I say? I'm a ho for the Dogs of Fire, and I've been waiting for Doom, especially since reading Dalton's book in the Cauld Ane series. That book left me believing that Doom's HEA would be with Aspen, but I already knew that wasn't the case from previews and blurb's about Doom's book.
Enter Lyric.
Harmony and Melody's big, responsible sister.
The chemistry was absolutely explosive! The burning question for the last few books is "why is Doom so angry?"
That question gets answered, and it's just so sad. Lyric has the uncanny ability to calm him down, but that doesn't keep Doom from having some mantrums on a few occasions. As always, Piper's dialogue kept me on my toes. From laughing to...well...raging!
I highly recommend this book! And in true Piper fashion, there's more teasing about Doc & Liv. What's gonna happen there? Can't wait to find out!
Full of rage and no plans on changing anything in his life Doom is suddenly thrown for a loop when a sassy female alpha crashes into his life. Lyric has a past that seems to be back, can a man full of rage be just what she needs. Will Lyric be the one to control the fire burning in Doom or are they destined to go up in flames?
I loved this story. The pace and wording so easy to escape into. I really loved how part of the past was in their present with the hall of pictures. To me this showed how awesome of a person Lyric is and how she truly was the woman for Doom. Doom in the perfect match for Lyric as she has never had anyone take care of her before and it was certainly a learning curve. I really I love the Dogs, both chapters, and even if you haven't read the others this story could stand on it's own, but you would definitely get a more enhanced reading experience if you've read the others. PS it seems both Lyric have the same mindset with my man Hatch
CLEAN TO REFER TO SEXUAL TESTING RESULTS!!! I’ve said too many times and I will continue to say it! This is no different than being racist, sexist, ageist, all the negative “ists”! When the word clean is used to it says that people with an STI/STD are not clean. This then implies that they can’t be sexual or have sex which then goes down the ugly rabbit hole of they don’t deserve love, they are not attractive…just negative, negative, negative. 1 in 4 people have or have had an STI/STD. It’s not okay to dismiss and disrespect those readers. To use the word clean diminishes who these people are. The majority of women who have an STI/STD are not sex workers, drug users or have loose morals but women who are in what they believe are monogamous or honest relationships. Just like rape, STIs/STDs the majority of cases are spread by someone you are familiar with and/or in a long term relationship.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book. Piper Davenport has done it again with another exceptional Dogs of Fire story. I do love the Savannah Chapter of the Dogs and was happy that the old ladies made several appearances throughout this book and had me smiling at their cunning attempts to help the heroine of this story - Lyric.
Hatch will always be my number 1 but after reading this, I think it's safe to say that Doom comes in at a close second! Doom has this air of anger about him which is confusing to Lyric until their relationship blossoms and the dark past he has been hiding is revealed. I really loved Doom and Lyric. They had an explosive chemistry and the story took us to a really sweet and somewhat unexpected place. Now I am on the edge of my seat waiting for Doc and Olivia's book!
Two equally broken people. A fluke accident lands them in each others path. Doom is beyond an alpha male. If it isn't his way, it's wrong, if something needs to be done or handled, he will take care of it, end of story. Until a sassy Lyric flips his world on end. Lyric is a strong, independent woman who has been on her own and is comfortable in her own skin. She knows what she wants and isn't above going out and getting it. I absolutely LOVE her sass factor. The story between these two is nothing short of addicting. The emotions run the gamut, anger, lust, pain, understanding, forgiveness and of course love. Spin in a little suspense and intrigue and you have this book. I have to admit, as of now, Doom and Lyric just took over the top spot. I wonder if Doc will let them keep it or if he will slam his way to the top next....
I just can’t get over the men from the Savannah chapter of the Dogs of Fire. Doom is my book boyfriend of 2019! He is mine, I am claiming him. I absolutely adore Doom and Lyric together. Doom is the VP of the savanna chapter and has demons hunting him. They affect him so bad that they mess with the relationships he has in the present. Lyric is a lawyer and has had a tough life being the oldest of the three sisters she has had to practically raised them. She is independent, feisty and doesn’t take crap from anyone especially Doom. There is instant chemistry between the two but both of their painful pasts keep them from moving forward. When Lyric’s of life is in jeopardy will Doom step up and be her Savior? I can’t wait for Doc and Olivia’s story!!
Oh My Gosh!! Piper Davenport delivered another awesome story! She caught my attention and my interest in the first paragraph. My heart went out to both Doom and Lyric as their individual stories were told. Doom and Lyric were meant to be together. Each being the saving grace of each other. Such a great story. Doom is one hot man! I'm in love. Piper does an amzing job making each book in this series original and fresh. It's like coming back to a family we love and know so well. I loved how she put some of my favorite characters in this story from her Cauld Ane series too. That was a great surprise. I recommend this book and all of The Dogs of Fire series. Piper gave her heart and soul again in her writing.
I don't mind books with sex though I skip over all the sex scenes as I just don't like reading the details of it. TMI. A good book will still be a good book skipping the sex scenes. Piper's Cauld Ane series is an example of that. Each book had great characters and a good plot that carried well and interested me from beginning to end. Not reading the sex scenes didnt ruin a great book. However I read this book out of order of this spinoff series as Doom was in the Cauld Ane series and I wanted to read about him. First of all I was disappointed he didnt end up with Aspen. Secondly, the book was all very detailed explicit sex. Skipping over those scenes left very little of the actual book and the plot was okay but not great. I was extremely disappointed in this book.
I have been looking forward to Doom & Lyric's story for what feels like forever! It hasn't really been that long, but my excitement level for this story felt that way! : ) It did NOT disappoint! After reading Dalton & Andi's story, I thought Doom's HEA was going to be w/ someone else, but she found her HEA & I was all, "Awww, what about Doom?!" As usual, he was paired with his perfect match.
I really enjoyed their story - even though there were a few rocky bits in the beginning! ; )
Quick read, steamy, sweet, lots of family & just the right amount of action! AND!! A few amazing surprises along the way. Loved it!! : )
Oh my gosh! I’ve decided that Piper Davenport isn’t capable of writing a less than amazing book, and Quieting The Biker’s Rage is a perfect example. Doom and Lyric are so fantastic together. He’s broken and withdrawn because of a horrible tragedy. She’s independent and slightly alpha, crazy combination for Doom, but she’s also nurturing and loving...perfect for him. I love how Ms. Davenport pulls characters from previous series, like little mini reunions with close family and friends. I can’t say enough about this fabulous story, way to go Ms. Davenport, looking forward to Doc and Olivia’s Story!
Wow, this is the first book I have read in the Savannah Chapter of the series, and I admit I also have one in my library ....... unread ....... guess whose going to go read it, like after I've written this. This is the story of Doom and how he's lost and never thought or wanted to let go of past hurt, that is until he meets Lyric, she's like a breath of fresh air and takes none of his bull, it's a rocky road at times and I loved every turn of the page, all the characters are great and there is a wonderful feeling of family. Unputdownable, I devoured it in one sitting. Now, on to that other book.
I received a copy and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion.
Doom and Lyric I really like this series, I look forward to the next installment. Happy to say that this one lived up to my expectations. Doom lost those he loved years before and decided to never open himself up again. Then, he meets Lyric. Not really a meet cute story. They meet when she is involved in a car accident in front of his shop. You should read the rest of the series to understand the backstory of the other characters. With Piper's books characters from other books always show up. It's a nice little visit with old friends. I look forward to the next installment. I received an ARC for an honest review.
Quieting the Bikers Rage is book 4 in the Dogs of Fire: Savannah chapter and is one of the best!!! I haves loved ever single Dogs of Fire book and they just keep getting better and better. This is Doom and Lyric’s story. Doom is the Vp of the Savannah chapter and has been through so much and is left broken with no desire to be fixed. Lyric is a independent, strong lawyer who has has her fair share of struggles. There’s instant chemistry between the two, but will Doom’s painful past keep him from moving forward? What happens when Lyrics past threatens to destroy her? I can’t wait to see what comes next!!
This book is amazing!! Ever since the death of his family, Doom has let rage and grief consume every aspect of his life. He just didn't expect Lyric to come crashing into his life. As an attorney, Lyric's life is at risk everyday. When the past that shaped her her future threatens to resurface, Doom will do a anything to keep her safe. He soon with a rival MC us beating and when it's targets those who are loved most, there is no going back. This book reminded me so much of why I love Piper and all her books.
Holy hell this book was AWESOME!! To say Doom has been through some tragedies is an understatement hence his closed off emotions. Meeting Lyric has sparked a few of those into gear and Doom’s not liking that at all. He’s definitely not liking the fact that he’s fallen in love with her. But when Lyric’s own tragic past comes too close Doom realizes that maybe Lyric is his healing. Not only does it seem Doom might get a second chance at happiness but a miracle is in the works for Lyric as well.
I gladly received an ARC and have left my honest review.
If you have been reading The Dogs of Fire books then you have heard of Doom before but this is the first time Lyric has been mentioned. Their story is in this book among other things. Lyric is an Attorney and she has two sisters, one being a famous pop star and the other is a FBI agent married to another agent who are friends with the Dogs of Fire MC. There are a lot of backstories in this book, some really sad and some happy. I loved reading it. Piper grabs you and holds on from the first page until the last in her books. I cant get enough of her writing. ..
