32 books36 followersأمل فرح من أهم من كتبوا للأطفال باللغة العربية، ومن أهم كُتاب الأطفال في مصر والمنطقة العربية؛ إذ حصلت على جائزة اليونسكو الدولية للتسامح في كتب الأطفال، عن كتاب هُف بُلف عام 2002، ثم جائزة "إيبي" الدولية عن كتب الأطفال المتميزة في مجال الإعاقة عن كتاب الصندوق عام 2004، وجائزة سوزان مبارك الأولى في أدب الطفل مرتين. وهي تشغل حالياً منصب نائب مدير تحرير مجلة ميكي في طبعتها المصرية الصادرة عن شركة نهضة مصر، وكبيرة محرري كل مجلات ديزني في مصر والصادرة عن الشركة نفسها.
يُذكر أن أمل فرح اشتغلت بالصحافة وصحافة الأطفال والكتابة لمسرح العرائس والأغاني للأطفال، وشاركت في أعمال من قبيل مسلسل بكار، الذي كتبت أغانيه عبر ستة مواسم للمسلسل، وأغاني مسلسل عالم سمسم في موسم عام 2000.

One day while a young boy gets out of the shower, his mother wraps the towel around him and says, “In order to protect our bodies from the cold, we have to wear clothes and in order to protect our bodies from heat, we have to also wear clothes”. This then leaves the boy wondering, “why do have to wear clothes at home as well”. The mother then simply replies to her young boy and says, “we have to cover our special parts”.
The young boy is left with many questions about his private parts and why they must be covered at all times. Both parents help the young boy understand the importance of taking care of his private parts and the importance of covering them up. They also explain to their young boy the difference between covering up his private parts from the inside, with underwear, and covering up from the outside with normal clothes.
The boy starts off with the desire to be free like a bird or a cat with only his underwear on and ends up realizing that his private parts must be double protected with more than one layer as it’s the heart of his flower, where a flower here symbolizes his body.
The author, Amal Farah, is able to demonstrate to the children how important it is to value their bodies by protecting it. Whether it’s the weather, or a person, the book is able to demonstrate the point of covering up the body in order to protect it from exterior influences. The book is written in a way that allows the child to easily follow the sequence of the story where a complex subject like sexual harassment is embedded and explained so smoothly. The author addresses such topic and translates it into a language a child is able to understand. The book doesn’t necessarily jump into the conclusion of sexual harassment, but instead it takes the child on a journey of self-realization where they are able to understand the importance of taking care of their body and their private parts. The idea of body higen is also implicitly embedded throughput the story but is clearly stated at the end of the book.
The book also relies on illustration to amplify the ideas in the mind of a child. The story line is backed up with vibrant and colorful drawings to illustrate the scenes and grab the attention of a child on every page. In my opinion, looking at the pictures is not enough for a child to understand what is going on as they would need to use both their sight and hearing senses to grasp the ideas.

كتاب مهم جدا جدا و مفتاح انه يعلم اطفالنا اهمية الحفاظ على اجسامهم و قيمتها و خاصة اجزاوهم الخاصة و انها خاصة بيهم هم فقط
