The past. Is it ever really like we imagined it was? Juliet is haunted by her memories. The centuries have passed, but her love for the five men she has lost still burns within her soul. When disaster strikes again and Juliet is once again thrown into the whirlwinds of time, she is unexpectedly given a new chance to reclaim lost love. Juliet soon discovers however that sometimes, the past is better left to rest. Can Juliet overcome the years that have been stolen from her, or will she lose her lost loves for good? Through it all, the question remains. If you lived forever...could you love forever?
I'm a wife, mother, and author! Writing has always been a passion for me, and publishing my first series is a dream come true. I drink too much caffeine, never sleep, and my imagination is always churning out ideas. Eva and her men have been in my head for awhile, and I'm so glad to finally take you with me on this journey!
If I had realized this wasn't a completed series I never would have started this!!! It is SO FREAKING GOOD. How will I survive without knowing how this ends?!? (Obviously I will survive but you know what I mean!) That cliffy was crazy! C.R. Jane PLEASE don't forget these characters. You're one of my favorite authors and I'll read anything you write but come back to this series.
(Its hard to rate the guys in this one bc only two were actually in it.)
Juliet describes her life as a tragedy with beautiful moments. She is cursed/blessed to be a time traveler. Over the centruries, she has fallen deeply in love with five extraordinary men only to be torn away from them as she fades into another time. Each time she travels she leaves a piece of her heart, a piece of her soul behind until she felt that she just couldn't go on any longer. But this time when she was ripped away, she found herself back at the beginning. Back with James. Maybe this time would be different. Maybe this time there would be answers. Maybe this time her love would be allowed.
I am a fervent admirer of all of C.R. Jane's work, however, this is my favorite of all her series. I consider her among the best of the RH authors. Her writing is strong, her stories original, her characters lovable. I place her at the top of the genre for creating stories with a romantic feel to them. Her females are strong, intelligent, and beautiful but they are set apart from others by their fanciful touch. The Timeless Affection series embodies this quality and Juliet is pure romance. I read them and get a sense of nostalgia like I am traveling with Juliet through the years. Each dream she has makes me sentimental, every sweet or painful memory she has is like my own. I am swept into and away by her story.
This book was difficult at times, truly painful. Juliet thought losing her loves was the worst. Being returned to them will be just as difficult. Heartbreak, sorrow, feelings of betrayal, abandonment, and anger must be dealt with. Explanations will not be believed. But at least now there is hope. Hope for reunions, hope for a future. It's a beautiful story
*Through it all, the question remains. If you lived forever...could you love forever? (This last line in the book's blurb is hauntingly perfect to me.)
Y'all...I don't even know if I'm ready yet to be talking about this book. My heart, it just can't handle this series. The first book left us falling off a cliff, literally, and I've been dying to find out what happened. I can't tell you what happens in this book b/c you just have to experience it all along the way. I can tell you that I was 100% an emotional mess through the whole thing. My heart hurt for Juliet and the things she learns in this book and the things she has to go through. It's not all sad though, there are some happy parts too.
This is a shorter book than we got in the first. Honestly though, I don't know if I could have handled more. When I tell you guys that I was riddled with angst the ENTIRE TIME, I am being sincere. I started reading when I got home from work and could not stop until I was done. This is absolutely my favorite series by C.R. I love Juliet and all of her men. I love that this is so different than anything else we are seeing right now in RH. I love that C.R. can make me feel so broken and yet so full of love for these characters. I don't love that C.R. has once again left us hanging on an ending that is like oh holy hell!!!!!! I sure hope we don't have to wait forever for the next one to come out. Please C.R.?? Don't make us wait!!!
I absolutely love this series. There is something about it that is soul deep, all encompassing, and keeps you invested in the story and the characters until the last page. Honestly, I tend to read for fun, but Lamented Pasts, and now this one...well, it makes you feel everything. All the love, joy, sorry, pain, all of it, you're right there with Juliet as she tries to navigate time and find the missing pieces of her soul, her loves. There were a lot of unanswered questions in the first book and luckily we aren't left wanting in this one. While many questions are answered, there are so many more and it makes the wait for the next book excruciating. Juliet is amazing, and her struggle is heart-wrenchingly bittersweet, but I love it. I love that I am dedicated in her and her men, and the author has done, one again, an absolutely incredible job with this. This is more than a book, because every time I finish, both the first and second books, I feel like I am walking away with a piece of it, and I can't leave it behind.
Lost Passions picks up right where Lamented Pasts left off, with Juliet ripped away from another man she loves except, this time, instead of starting over she is given the chance to reconnect with one of her past loves.
Six years after her disappearance, though much longer for her, Juliet is back in 15th century England. Having believed she abandoned him, James is anything but happy to see her when she shows up in the throne room, and throughout the book he battles with himself, torn between his desire to sweep her into his arms or toss her out of his life for good.
Politics, schemes, traitors, and a few surprises kept me from going to sleep until I got to the end. I couldn't put the book down, and when I finally did, I was left gaping... again. The other shoe has dropped but, while Juliet and two of her men are in a precarious situation, Juliet did learn many important things about herself and her mother that will hopefully help her out of the situation she has found herself in. Absolutely can't wait for book 3.
Now that I had time to think about it Timeless Affection Series does remind me of 2 movies mixing together but with a twist. Yeah no just me, okay, just ignore that thought. Lost Passions is indeed a few pages shorter than the 1st book (but by only 30 odd pages, so it's not that bad). Although, it does end on a major cliffhanger (if you read her other books or the 1st book, it's like expected really). A certain someone(s) is more the focal point than the others. I absolutely love this book now and I really want the next installment. (imagine me with a grimace while sucking/running my tongue over my teeth, that is me wishing Lost Passions didn't have to end.) * * * * * possible spoiler alert, avert eyes if not read Lost Passions*
Book 1 had the back & fourth to back, back & fourth thing going on, but in book 2 has just a poof of "now" then to the back now? so it's not confusing to us (readers) which is nice. And I miss Landon!
CR Jane has done it again, I'm emotionally invested, I'm angry, im sad, im happy, I feel like my heart has been ripped out, seriously all the feels. I have to know what happens next to Juliet and her men. Juliet has jumped back in time to her first love and she has brought her most recent love WITH HER, she's ecstatic, I'm ecstatic, James is of course furious, and unwilling to listen, but who can blame him? This is an emotional roller coaster and the ending? Omg, my kindle almost didn't survive. Now my question is this, CR Jane, its been two years since this book was released, and though I know I'm new to it, I am invested and very instant gratification oriented, that cliff hanger is BRUTAL and need to know what happens! How to I get on the arc team, when sill the next be released? Omg! I can't believe the cliffhanger there. Mind blown!!
Oh Juliette, I am so sad that you dont have your happy ending yet. I'm still deeply in love with Liam and Landon . I cant say James didn't disappoint me a little , but the rekindled passion was awesome . His wife though.... I want to stab her a little , just for being her. I love this book and all of this authors works because I become so emotionally invested in the characters. Whatever this author writes is gold and keeps me coming back for more. The story goes back in time to Juliettes first love , but 6 years have passed and she has to catch up with what shes missed. Along the way she gets to find out a snippet of why her world is so chaotic and how she has so much passion and love for the men she has known through time . You need to read the 1st book to truly understand and bring a box of tissues because you will need it.
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
What a roller coaster ride it is for this poor woman. One in which she has no control over either. She was yanked from Liam at the end of the last book so we pick up with her having no clue where/when she is all alone. After a breakdown she starts trying to figure out the time and place which gives her hope once she does since James should be around meaning she had the chance to go back to her previous loves. The only problem is that it is six years after she disappeared from his life and quite a bit has happened since. Some interesting adapting that leads all the way to that surprising secret that comes out towards the end. A great addition to the series with an original story line. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
Just as great as the first one. What I love about this book is that you get to know more about the sexy prince James. Who originally only had a small but huge role in the first book. I'm excited to see what happens next because of course this book just like the first one ends on one hell of a cliffhanger, one that will make you want to scream and pull out your hair lol. But then C.R Jane is known for her outstanding frustrating cliffhangers that make you keep coming back for more. More about this book though. In this book you get to see hatred that only comes from love, there is pain and second chances with a crazy spin that you will have to stay tuned for the next book. Obviously this is a 5 star book all the way. And I will be "patiently" waiting for the next book.
I have been anxiously waiting for the release of this book since I finished Lamented Pasts, and this book didn’t disappoint at all. In the previous book, the how and why of her her time travel dilemma was vague and mysterious, but this book did a great job of answering these questions (while also bringing in new questions into play of course). I loved how you learned much more about Juliet in this book and I’m so excited to see where her love story will take her...hopefully back into the city and into the arms of my favorite mafia boss (yes he’s my favorite. Sorry not sorry).
I love being able to see an authors growth in their writing and I can definitely see it between the first book and this one!
While this book was on the shorter side, I can see why that is. It is a lot more focused on just one of her relationships and gives us a lot more details. There is so much more information to learn about her relationships and where things are going.
I have bittersweet emotions right now of loving how I have no clue where things are going next and what will happen. But I also hate feeling this way because I don't have the next book to jump into! I can't wait to get a third book and look forward to seeing how things progress.
I'm a little frustrated with this second installment. The first book gave me all the feels - I mean sobbing tears. I thoroughly anticipated the second book. Expecting more background stories about the love interests perhaps just a longer story line. However, I felt like this time around everything was rushed. We also get an ending at 82%. I understand the author's note and doing what she did, but for those who don't have KU and pay out right for every book they may end up feeling short changed.
So I really love this series. I loved the first book. This book was really good. I loved all of the twists. What i didn't love was how short it was. I think that was the most disappointing thing. It seemed like i had just gotten into it and here i am at the end. And i know, that happens sometimes when you just get so lost in a book that you don't realize you finished it. But I promise you that wasn't the case. Although, to be fair CR Jane did apologize as soon as you turn the page. I guess here's to waiting for book 3
Juliet’s story is one of my favorites of all time!! This book picks up exactly where the first book left off. Juliet has been moved through time once again but the difference is she’s been here before........ I’m so thrilled with the direction this story is going!!!!! We are beginning to get answers and things are definitely heating up!! I’ve fell in love with all of these wonderful men, thank goodness we don’t have to choose!!!!!!!
This book picks up right where book 1 ended. Juliet is ripped through time to a new period. Except this time looks familiar. She is 6 years after her first time jump. It's King James now and not everything is as it seems. I'm happy she reunited with James. We only got glimpses of the guys in book 1 but I think sparks will fly when she manages to get back to Landon. I can see James and Landon fighting already. I can't wait for the next stop on Juliette's adventure.
Usually the first book in the series is what draws you in. The subsequent books are whaT keep you coming back for more. C.R. Jane has definitely accomplished this! Whew! Right when you are on the edge of your seat she sneakily introduces a cliffhanger. This is delish and positively delightful! Cant wait for the next! #landon4life looks like Juiliet is heading for round two!! Squeee!
Wait, what?! That’s how this book ends? I need more! I understand the authors note at the end and appreciate it. I’m still heartbroken that I don’t have more story to read though. I love Juliet’s selfishness with her men. Too often books have heroines who are so selfless and constantly trying to give up what they love for some greater good. It’s refreshing to see a love so encompassing that the MC won’t give it up no matter what.
I really enjoyed this book, I wish it would have been listed more as a novella based on the length of it. But despite it's length it still packed a punch. You got to see Juliet jump back into one of her previous times, and deal with the fall out of her leaving. It was nice to learn more about why she's a time traveler and how she can potentially stop it from continuing. It was a really great emotional read! The cliffhanger at the end was awesome! I'm so excited for book 3!
Don't bother reading this. Or the 1st one. The story stop at book 2 without any reason or closure. And there is a blurb from the author at the end about writing 5 total books.
Well this was written in 2019 and that's it. No more. I feel like I wasted my time reading this. If it was written in 2025 I'd understand reading it. But its been 7 years....
I love so many books by C.R. Jane, but I am so disappointed in this...
This book totally made up for how sad Lamented Past left me. James was my favorite character in book one, so I was so excited to find out that she was back in his time again! Juliet has this 'roll with it' personality that I kind of envy. Girl has seriously been through a lot and has more sanity left than most would. That's the kind of MC that I love to read about!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
It feels like I’ve been waiting so long for this book, but it’s just that addicting! It was everything I knew it would be and more! I’m so glad we got to learn more about James and the backstory. But the last chapter just blew my mind! I NEED the next book like yesterday!
If you haven’t read the first one hurry up and do so. Lost Passions starts right back up where Lamented Pasts ends. Juliet’s story grips the soul and makes you feel all the things. So many lives yet not long enough in those lives makes it gut wrenching. We are starting to understand why this is happening to Juliet and how it should unravel but will it all come out as we expect?
Although this book is a little on the short side I love this story and concept. I thought this book was awesome after the heart breaking ending of the first book, we find out where Juliet ends up and also a little bit about why she keeps disappearing. This series is very addicting and I Cannot wait to see what happens next.
First let me start by saying I'm a huge fan of this author. So much so that I've bought several of her books that grace my bookshelf. This series has sucked me in. I love time traveling stories and this series so far is in the lead. I will wait very impatiently for the next book.
This is such a beautiful series. It truly is a one of a kind. I cannot imagine finding love and not just losing it once but 5 times. Juilet is such a strong, fierce character with a gentleness to make her such a well rounded character. I can't wait to continue her journey throughout time itself.
It feels like I’ve been waiting so long for this book, but it’s just that addicting! It was everything I knew it would be and more! I’m so glad we got to learn more about James and the backstory. But the last chapter just blew my mind! I NEED the next book like yesterday!
Ms. Jane is a genius. Everything she writes is fantastic. I love this series so much! Devoured this book in one sitting. I love where this is heading and was so excited to see where our girl ends up. Lots of action, steam, and great storytelling. The next book can’t come fast enough.
Paranormal. Rh. 1/5 guys. Time travel starting 1400s. Picks up after Juliet jumps again. This one really hacks around your emotions. I think I cried through half of it. But it also healed my heart a bit after the first book. Loved it all the way through.
I devoured this story! And I just want more! Juliet still has gone through so much and her journey is not over just yet. I can't wait for the rest of this story, it's definently a must read series!
