Corps de Force: An Alex Keane Novel

Rate this book
Alex, Rogers along with Hector and Testifonte Guajardo continued to survey the operations below. Counting the numbers of men outside and estimating the numbers that may be inside. Testifonte mentioned the large antenna and wire that ran from the smaller building to the cabin north of it. “Looks to me like that is the communications building Hector!” Rogers agreed, “That will have to become one of our first hard targets, we need to close that down first before they can call in for help.” Together they devised their plan of attack, and passed the information on to the team that had spread across the ridgeline. The reports came back that the only guards found, were as earlier confirmed and only at the main entrance road, which covered by two men visible possibly more but would be ready to handle any more there. O.D. and Joffre returned to say that they were certain that no one could enter from the ravine, as it was too rocky and congested for even a mule to travel. “Good work, guys we will need you two to take out the small building there,” pointing to the one with the antenna, “that is their Comm.’s we need that destroyed first, devise your methods and be ready to move in ten minutes.” They nodded and moved out along the ridgeline to get nearer to the building before proceeding along it from the rear of the complex. O.D. removed two small blocks of C4 from his rucksack and placed them into his right cargo pocket he handed Joffre the smaller roll of det cord to carry. The GCP was malleable as modeler’s clay and would be very reliable to do the job as intended. Alex called for a Sitrep to insure everyone was on target ready for the operation go time. All reported in as ready, Hector nodded to Alex as he then gave the order to move in. Joffre was first one to the backside of the small communications building it looked to be of all wood and may have possible been a Tack shed for the horses and supplies from a previous homesteader. Once he was secured at the corner of the building, he signaled O.D. to move down. As soon as O.D. reached the back wall, they each moved around opposite sides of the small building to the front corners. They waited there until the team members started the next part of the plan. Ruiz and Migleno were moving in on the two cartel men at the front gate. Ruiz quietly moved up behind the nearest man to them and embedded his ten-inch knife into the base of his skull ramming it upward and twisting. The man slumped into his arms as he laid him out on the ground. Migleno had the second one with his right arm around from behind; he pulled his razor sharp knife across the man’s throat nearly removing his entire head from the neck. He too quietly laid the man on the ground. Ruiz clicked his radio twice, not worrying about anyone else hearing them because they had been using a secured encrypted network, signaling that they had the gate secured.
