Rate this book
A severed hand is found in a field in Germany. The consequences will reach from war-torn Afghanistan to the highest levels of government.

Ex-army officer Harry Brown has been conducting a disaster planning exercise at an airport in northern Germany. On his way there one morning he passes a car being driven by single mum Ingrid Weber. Glancing after her in his rearview mirror, Harry sees her car swerve and crash. When he discovers what caused her to crash was a grisly human body part, all the old training and instincts kick in.

Before he knows it, he and Ingrid are on a trail that leads them ever deeper into a quagmire of greed and corruption as they begin to piece together a chilling chain of events. Soon it seems that everyone wants them dead. From the flat north German plain to the summit of the Zugspitze in the Bavarian Alps, Harry and Ingrid are running for their lives.

A Necessary Hell. Nigel Price

Harry Brown is a military veteran. A highly trained combat veteran. Now a civilian working in Germany for his employer. He almost causes an accident, not paying attention and causes a German women to run off the road, crashing her car. He goes back to check on her welfare. A farmer approaches them holding a severed hand. Then this brilliantly written tale unfolds. Corruption at the highest levels in the German government. Child abduction. Stolen antiquities. A non stop action thriller. Enjoyed immensely!

Fast moving thriller

I'm a fan of Jack Reacher but I found Harry Brown has the edge on him. A really likable hero who coolly fights off a series of villains and protects his girlfriend through gripping adventures. I thoroughly recommended it.
