They told her jumping would bring her home. Either they lied, or something is very wrong with Eve. She jumped to save her friend. She jumped to prevent Enoch from becoming the monster she knew from the future. But she didn’t land there. She landed in 1717. In the middle of the ocean, no less. And for a girl who couldn’t swim? That was the worst place in the world.

After being saved by a pirate who calls himself Blackbeard, Eve desperately needed to find Enoch, but when she did, she learned that not making it home was the least of her worries. Victor did the unthinkable and used her to accomplish his cruel attack, and she isn’t sure if Enoch will ever forgive her – or if he should.

Maybe the monster was never him.

Maybe it’s been her all along. Perfect for fans of The Hunger Games, lovers of pirates, dystopian novels, paranormal romance, science fiction fantasy and time travel stories!

High Seas is part of The High Stakes Saga. The series should be read in this order: High Stakes, High Seas, High Society, High Noon and High Treason.

RONE Award-winning author Casey Bond lives on a rural farm in West Virginia with her husband and their two beautiful daughters. She writes phoenixes – gloriously flawed and morally gray characters that fiercely rise from the ashes of their circumstances.

Worldbuilding is one of her favorite pastimes. She thinks thunderstorms are better than coffee and that watching a meteor shower is the closest thing to magic you might ever see. She’s a firm believer that every amazing book needs a world you want to wrap yourself in, a character you want to win, and a love you would fight for.

Casey is the author of When Wishes Bleed, Gravebriar, House of Eclipses, and Where Oceans Burn.

Casey Bond has done it again, High Seas is such an amazing read. I really love this series and its characters. The world within High Seas is just mind blowing. I love that blend of different genres, the author brings us in this story. Im not really a big scifi fan, however, I dont feel like the scifi aspect is in your face big. I love the paranormal romance she brings, Enoch and Eve are my favorite characters. I love that we get to see more of him and the other characters along with their POVs. Casey Bond has a way with wrapping her words into your soul and just leaving you wanting so much more. I can't wait to see what's in store for us with High Society. This is one series that is a must read for 2019, you definitely dont want to miss out on the hype.

I’d like to thank Lady Amber Tours and Casey L. Bond for an e-arc of this book it is very much appreciated! I fell in love with High Stakes which is the first book in this series and I loved it. So I was highly anticipating the second one and it lived up to my expectations. As always I loved Casey’s writing, I love how she can make me feel all the emotions and it’s honestly I love writing that can make me really feel something in their writing.

I loved Eve and Enoch all though time had passed it felt like they were still the same. Except especially Enoch you could tell what happened in 1348 had a big effect on him and his siblings. Their first conversation back together was so hard and stressful and the scene was intense, you could tell that both these characters were hurting and it was such a beautiful scene. I also loved that even after both Eve and Enoch can still have banter with each other. They had a brilliant connection with each other, and you could see how much both of these characters mean to each other.

So Maru I didn’t think he was that important in the first book other than being Eve’s trainer but he became more important during this book. One of the questions he asked honestly blew my mind. I did not even think of that, but I actually can’t say what it was because it will spoil you for this book and I really don’t want that. But it blew my mind along with this whole upgrade business that is going off, it was a wow! Like I can’t believe that they got so many upgrades.

I love Titus, I love the bond between him and Eve they are like siblings, they tease each other and yet they defend each other to their last breath and I love that. Abram the third partner in this little trio he is a monster. It really is irony that he turned into a monster he was trying to stop.

I really could not guess where this story was going, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. The story was gripping and kept me hooked, I cannot wait for the next book in this series. I only wonder where this series can go next and I honestly can’t wait!

Anyone that read the first book has been holding their breath waiting to see what happens from the first sentence of this book, and I was certainly no acception -- nor was I disappointed. Just by the title of the book, it was clear that what Eve thought should have happened certainly did not. Eve was going to be in water somewhere; not at the compound, and likely not in the right time. Dying to find out what happened to Enoch after she left, we don’t have to wait long -- thank goodness!

I’m sure I’ve said it in every review before, but I’ll say it again...there’s just something about how Bond makes you feel when you read about her characters. We feel every emotion, even from the slightest head tilt or facial expression; it’s like we’re right there with them. In the case of this story, I just want to cry every time I “look” at Enoch’s face. Centuries of anguish simply for having a heart. Put that together with having some seriously crazy siblings that he has to keep from killing the entire world, and now his heartbreak is repeated over and over with CLONES everywhere of his lost love that he thought betrayed him. In many stories, this is the point where it would be really easy for authors to get unrealistic -- either holding onto grudges a little too well, or forgiving everyone too quickly. Not in this case. Bond does a great job at making it complicated. It’s situational, and it’s never easy. It’s believable. And it adds to the heartache that much more.

Poor Eve spends most of this book just trying to keep her head on straight. With her body randomly not working still, and a whole lot of signs pointing to what was really happening in the time she came from, she now has to face going back not knowing who she can trust. As she learns more about herself, Titus learns more than he wants to as well, but Bond makes him the absolute perfect comic relief, both with his joking when he gets stressed, and the borderline dangerous yet funny banter between him and Enoch when Enoch misunderstands Titus’ jokes with Eve as being disrespectful (centuries of time difference and all).

Of course, every good story needs a good villain, and the villains in this one made my skin crawl -- and I loved it. Abram being assigned to target Asa was the perfect creepy pairing. Asa is the most unstable of the siblings, and Abram is definitely the most unstable of the assets targeting them. The turn of events in this story added to it beautifully. There is all sorts of crazy going on, and in the next book I can’t even imagine how much worse it’s going to get, and can’t wait to find out.

There are more pieces coming together about what’s really happening in Eve’s time, who’s really good and who’s really evil, but there is still so much guessing as a reader, that it is killing me to wait until the next book to find out! The build up has been FANTASTIC, and Bond’s ability to make you really feel like you’re a part of the story and truly care about the characters has been perfectly heartbreaking, exciting, and everything in between. I am so ready to see how it all comes together!

High Seas is the second book in the High Stakes Saga and cannot be read as a stand alone. It begins where book one left off.

When Eve jumped out of the year 1348, she expected to go home, pulling her teammates with her. She jumped to save their lives and to prevent Enoch from changing from the caring and loving individual he was into the monster he will become. But something goes terribly wrong. Instead of finding herself back in her time, she finds herself plunging into the sea and being saved from a watery grave by the pirate Blackbeard.

Desperate to find Enoch and her teammates, Eve has no idea what awaits her in the year 1717 . . . and something is definitely wrong. Her tech isn’t working, and she’s feeling off. There is no way to prepare her for what she finds, however. Enoch has started to change . . .and blames the circumstances of the cruel attack that took everything from him on Eve. Can she convince him she wasn’t privy to the plan set to destroy him? Can she find her teammates and, will they ever make it back to her time? And, does she truly want to go know that she has found Enoch again?

High Seas was full of adventure from start to finish! Nothing could have prepared Eve for the journey she is on . . . especially knowing that someone from her time has sabotaged the original mission. While her teammate Titus has her back, Abram does not . . . and he is not what he seems at all. And, while she has only been away from Enoch for what feels like a few hours for her, it has been almost 400 years for him, and he has suffered greatly at the machinations of the team that sent Eve to kill him.

Enoch’s character has so much depth, it’s easy to get lost in him. The dichotomy of his love and hatred for Eve is masterfully written by Casey L. Bond. He continues to amaze and surprise, and it’s phenomenal. Eve is also an amazing character as she struggles with knowing everything she was taught to believe and be is a lie.

While the story is Eve and Enoch’s, the side characters play an integral role. For me, the ancillary character that I can’t wait to see more of in the coming book is Maru, Eve’s trainer. He has been used as much as she was and I can’t wait to see how he is able to assist with getting Eve back to present day so she can work to stop all the destruction caused by the people she thought were the good guys.

High Seas was fast paced, full of adventure and will take readers on an emotional rollercoaster they’ll want to continue riding when High Society releases next. 5 stars!

Uh-oh!! So looks like this one will have more than one POV ? what a confounding wonderful thing ... well pirates ? Damn it the things are getting better and better and Edward is so much a pirate name , made me remember AC Black Flag!! So Edward said to her be careful of the things that are in the darkness...so we already have vamps in 1717 ? Ha! He is nothing less than Blackbeard ? Sooooo coool!!!

Wtf happened to Abram ? Ok .... WTF is happening with everything...? And I absolutely like Edward his nickering with Eve is funny. Now I understand...why Enoch lose himself...f*ck and Victor and Kael are another level crazy ...and Abram ? He give me the creeps the guy has his ideas all wrong ... about God and all, damn it the guy sounds like a terrorist .

Ok...the things are COMPLICATED, damn it I KNEW they shouldn’t mess with time !! Enoch and Eve relationship...poor Enoch I’m seriously the guy suffered so much already. And I really like Titus he is a amazing friend ...this is new because normally the best friends are always girls but in this one we have a perfect friendship between them and this is really cool .

“We certainly are not,” Enoch growled. “I came to tell you to stay inside.”
“Like hell I will,” I growled, following him out the door.
“Can you not – for once – do what you are told, woman?”
My brows shot up. Oh, no he didn’t.
“Enoch, I’m a specially-engineered warrior, and so help me, if you try to shut me in this room, I’ll burn it down and walk out of the flames with my stake pointed right at your heart!”
Enoch’s upper lip flinched, taken aback by my explosive reaction. “Fine. Then stay by my side.”

Hahaha poor Enoch he had no chance with her reasoning. And OMG I’m craving for Maru’s POV I’m seriously!!! So much suspense this is killing me .

“This is,” I breathed, capturing her mouth with a kiss. “The way I feel about you can’t be crushed by the weight of a millennia”

Damn it if this wasn’t the most romantic sh*t ever...and I’ll absolutely die one day because of these cliffhangers....I’m seriously his is evil hahaha I’m so thankful that the next book is already out , thank the gods for the small mercy hahaha .

Bond takes us on yet another fully engaging journey through time with High Seas, book two in the High Stakes Saga. Please note, you must read High Stakes, Book One to follow along with this new release. Although this novel is a combination of SCI-FI and paranormal I’d also go as far as to describe this novel as “The Originals” meets “Pirates of the Caribbean” as Bond takes you to new depths in the high seas of the South Atlantic.

Eve, Titus and Abram find themselves thrust into 1717 in the British Isles of the South Atlantic. Each arriving close to their target only to find they are no longer the only assets set out to destroy the three original vampires. Eve and Enoch’s romance and attraction are just as present in High Seas as it was in book one, High Stakes. However, Bond brings their relationship a step further by darkening the romance between the years they were apart. Enoch is no longer a free spirit creating acts of kindness for the people among him. Instead, he is a darker, more sad version of himself. He is a vulnerable vampire teetering on the brink of humanity. It’s easy to see what has caused the shift the siblings and the endless possibilities that lie ahead. On top of that, Bond adds yet another layer to the three Assets as she unravels the past and the cruelty experienced at the hands of Kael, the doctor who engineered them to kill the vamps. Together the Vamps and Assets must determine who the true villain really is.

Although that seems like a bit of a plot line mouthful, somehow Bond makes it all work together. Her story is unique, descriptive, and completely fascinating. Although it features a few different genres, each one is equally present causing a perfect blend. Once again, she has made a novel that is hard to put down. High Seas was engaging from cover to cover leaving me wanting more from these characters. I am so excited to see where Bond takes us next.

This is book two in the High Stakes series and if you love vampires, time travel and just plain good reading you need to read this series! Highly recommend you read book one before reading this one!

We start right where High Stakes left off. Eve lands in a new time which isn’t her own with one thing in mind...find Enoch! When she finds him she doesn’t get the reception she was expecting. Everything is wrong and she needs to figure out what happened since she left him.

“I’m sorry,” he simply said, pulling her into his arms. She melted into him and cried, her fingers fisting the back of his shirt.

Eve and Titus know they have to figure out how to get home, back to the present, now that they know what Victors up too and try and stop him. They just need to figure out how.

Abram is off with his own agenda like usual but let me tell you how surprising he is in this one...let’s just say when you become your worst enemy things change...

I love that in this one we get multiple POV especially since so much is happening between the past and present. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book ,High Society, because I need to know what happens next!!

Do you like Time Travel? Vampires? Pirates? Vampires that are Pirates? Of course you do, who doesn’t? No one, that’s who! And that’s why everyone should read High Seas, preferably after reading High Stakes as HSeas picks up right where HStakes ends.

Eve and her fellow assets have leapt forward in time, only not enough, and must now once again orient themselves in a new (old) world, but the path is not an easy one. Eve tries to prove her trustworthiness while trying to figure out why she was set up and how to get back home to fix it. However back in her time, schemes within schemes are starting to be revealed as not everyone on her team is on her side, and even her friends are in danger as they start to look for answers so to why Eve didn’t return home as planned.

Allies are enemies and enemies just might turn out to be friends. Except Blackbeard, he’s still a pirate.

High Seas starts right from end of High Stakes, what an adventure from falling from the skies into the ocean, to the year 1717 instead of they’re time, sailing with Blackbeard to Enoch’s destination. Eve finds Enoch, but he is upset and won’t listen to Eve, then Eve learning about the clones of her, Titus and Abram. We go to they’re time and Maru starts questioning why the three aren’t back, so he starts investigating. Titus and Eve realize they need to get back to they’re time, Eve isn’t doing well and hoping they’ll get back to get her help. Eve doesn’t want to leave, Enoch didn’t want her to leave, he loves her, and she loves him too, but knows she needs to go! Now finding and getting Abram so they can jump together.
Loved this book, really good, hated to put the book down!!
Yes, I recommend the series High Stakes, and High Seas, and more to come! Can’t wait for the next one!

Wow, what another amazing read!!

I loved how we basically picked up here from where we left off in book one. I love it when authors do that because it makes it feel as if the story really didn't end. It just continues on like nothing happened.

The characters are awesome. Different time, different place, but the same characters....Well, some of them anyway...To find out what I am talking about, hurry and purchase your copy today!!

The story-line was fan-flipping-tastic!! Bond kept me addicted throughout the entire story. I pulled an all-nighter because I just couldn't put it down. It's full of edge of your seat suspense, romance, hatred and pure mystery all wrapped into one unforgettable story. I really want book three really bad, because I CRAVE MORE RIGHT NOW!!! I just can't seem to get enough of this saga and these cliffhangers are KILLING me!! I highly recommend this read!!

I don't even know how to feel right now!! I'm happy because I finally got to read book 2, I feel like I've been waiting forever to know what happened! Once I started reading I didn't want to stop, I didn't care what was going on around me! I inhaled this book!! I feel like the time flew by and I was at the end and I was mad because I needed more, I wanted to call Casey and ask why couldn't there be just one more chapter?! You know when Kathy Bates kidnaps that author and ties him to the bed until he writes more? That's kinda what I feel like doing right now! But I don't have her number so here I am wondering how long I have to wait for book 3 and hoping it's not a long long wait!

Awesome job Casey!!!

There I was, minding my own business reading like the innocent reader I am. I was super invested in the book that I didn't see the end coming. When out of the blue the end just kills me!!! I turned my kindle over and over, clicked on the screen like I MUST have been missing something. Then I yelled "HOW YOU GONNA DO ME LIKE THAT, CASEY!!!" lol I had a slight Misery moment. You know, that pivotal reader moment when you picture yourself as Kathy Bates in Misery and you want to track down the author and demand she give you the next book...lol But seriously, I would never. 😇😇 High Seas, book two in the High Stakes saga is mind blowing. I loved every second of it. I obviously can't give any secrets away, but I can tell you that you will LOVE this book.

We continue where we left off from the first book, and it's getting really exciting! Loving the way the settings change since they're time traveling. I enjoyed this read, and can't wait for the next adventure! Very Pirates of the Caribbean if you ask me :) Pirates and vamps! Ooh, what a combination! This was indeed a page turner, and gave me a book hangover!

Looks like "the leader" (for those who haven't really read) really screwed things up! Looks like he is the one who put the humans in danger in the first place! And A? Ugh. He's blinded by his hatred and jealousy that he isn't thinking straight!
I am enjoying T and E though. Ok, both E and E! Hahaha! Go read the book so you know who and what I'm talking about!

After reading the first book and being super on-the-fence about it, I picked this one up. I liked it, but I wanted more from it. The first book has a pretty interesting ending, and I get why Enoch would hate Eve for it. But it just seems like he was too quick to forgive? Maybe he just has a better heart than I do. I also thought it was way too soon for them to declare their love for each other. Like... no. I also did not appreciate the five different perspectives we got in this book. Enoch's and Eve's were fine. I didn't need -nor want- the addition of the others. If the multiple perspectives had been set up in the first book, it'd be different. It's jarring for me to go from one book that's mono-perspective to multi-perspective (probably not real words, but they work).

Well, douse me with holy water and stake me in the heart! It’s another vampire apocalypse adventure, but on this episode Eve has jumped through time and landed smack dab in the middle of a pirate territory. Pirates, yes pirates! And Enoch, smoking hot vampy Enoch, is a swashbuckling hero of epic proportions. He’s the “bad guy” and yet he’s oh so deliciously good! There’s a world to save, hearts to mend and clones to conquer! I’ll stop gushing before I give away too much, but you’re in for a real treasure!

Worth the read

I ended up finishing this series In less than a week. I lost sleep, staying up til 3am. Enoch and Eve are destined to be. When the series starts she’s living in a compound training to be a top asset with a burning hate for Enoch and his siblings. She’s been taught to believe they are the worst thing for humanity. She travels through different times only to find the man she’s been taught to hate is nothing like the man she’s been brain washed to hate. Read this series and take the journey through time and watch as Eve and Enochs story unwinds.

Could not put this one down. So much action, romance and awesome in one book! Enoch is one of the best characters I've ever read. Casey captures everything about vampires that I love. Eve is the perfect heroine. She has to deal with the fallout of her leaving Enoch and regain his trust and faith. The supporting characters are well written and have substance, making you either love them or love to hate them. I can not wait to read more. Bravo Casey!

I absolutely love the way Casey’s writing pulls you into the story, you really feel as though you’re there experiencing the world she’s created.
High Seas picks up for Eve, right where Book One left her along with the other Assets. Enoch has spent all this time... hating her.
We get to experience their reunion and how this has changed everyone.
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this series!!! You will not regret reading it!!

Great series

Couldn't stop reading. A little old world and a lot of the future world filled with vampire hunters from the future. Eve and her 3 comrades are sent on a mission, one they were lured about. Using the past to communicate with the future to stop devistaion. Love found in the wrong ... person with the hope to change the future. I hate science fiction but this is a great read.

Book ended too quickly and now have to wait to find out what happens! High Seas was not what I expected but was captivated by the first page. Enoch and Eve are fantastic together and you just want them to end up together. The mystery builds up needing to know how this saga is going to end! Will Victor triumph for the humans or Enoch find the peace he wants to live within humans?

OMG, so freaking awesome! Enoch is still hot!! I’m really loving this new take on vampires. Nope, no sparkling. Just good storytelling. Which this author is known for.

You pick up right where the last book ends and I couldn’t stop reading it and finished it in two evenings.

Alittle fast paced. I felt like I couldn’t connect with the characters as much. Not a big fan of the insta love.

More time time travel, vampires, love, questions answered but more questions made.

I need to know what happens next!

I tried

The instalove is rough in this series, but I loved the concept and tried to stick with it in hopes it'd get better. Great idea for a story, I just couldn't do the really bad romance. Stopping partway through 3.
