I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Am ordering the next one and will be anxiously awaiting any other books in this series. The fact Blaze didn’t care about what color the little girl who became attached and trusted him with her life almost had me in tears. A very good prequel to the series!
2.50 Stars. (BW/WM) Free E-book. The is the story of how Kent "Blaze" Simmons meet and adopted LaRue "Church Mouse" Simmons, a five-year-old Black girl, and how he met and fell in love with his 'ole lady', Rebecca Roman, a Black female and how be realized his biggest dream of starting a motorcycle club that operates legitimate businesses and that has an inclusive and diverse membership...men and women of various races. By the time Blaze was killed, he had seen the Predators MC grow into a large organization with chapters throughout America and he had seen Church Mouse, graduate college and become a successful businesswoman and an accomplished biker and martial artist. The story was okay and served the purpose of introducing LaRue and the origin of the Predators MC; but there were many unanswered questions: The author didn't definitively establish that Blaze legally adopted LaRue nor did the author reveal whether Blaze and Rebecca ever married and if they were a couple at the time of his death, and finally, the person who killed Blaze appears to have been the kid that Blaze warned LaRue to steer clear of because Blaze thought him to be a dangerous psycho; but no reason was given for his murdering Blaze.
