Alyssa Dean Copeland credits Jude Deveraux for hooking her on historical romance. Years later, she opened her laptop and tried her hand at writing in the world she fell in love with.
Alyssa makes her home in Colorado, where she works in higher education by day and novelist by night—when she’s not distracted by social media or Netflix.
She loves to write stories with imperfect, compelling heroes and heroines. When she’s not writing, she enjoys theater, hole-in-the-wall museums, and anything Star Wars. Currently, she is working on the next piece of the Pearl Heirloom Collection.
This was from a different perspective, a dark heroine. It was interesting to see how the villain came about from the earlier books and which road she is taking. This has now become my favorite out of the series so far and I will re-read all of the previous books with the knowledge that I have now.
Loved this story! Copeland 's stories are fulfilling leaving you curious and wanting more. Viola is a character you love to hate but somehow I was rooting for her. The Heirloom series offers a wonderful flow of romantic stories. Can't wait for the next one!
I'm sad that the story is over as the next book isn't available yet. Loved the history in this book as it's more historical than romance. If only other authors put as much time in their research as Alyssa did.
Loved getting to know Viola!! She is a complex character and I enjoy getting to learn about who she is. Great addition to the pearl heirloom collection.
