They took something from me. Something that can never be replaced. They destroyed something. Something that can never be repaired. Only one thing can appease the burning rage in my soul. Unleashing my wrath on those responsible. The Dragon will rise. Death will reign. Because wrath is the deadliest sin. And Chicago has no idea what's coming for it... ***After Wrath is the second book in The Deadliest Sin Series about organized crime in Chicago. This series is best read in order, as the stories are chronological and each sin builds on the events of the previous one.***

After Wrath is book two in the Deadliest Sin series by Gwyn McNamee. This author is one that continuously blows me away with her dynamic storytelling prowess. The dedication that is put into each story is immeasurable. I am always entertained and captivated.

The story continues from Wrath, with each and every character dazzling. The complexity adds this delicious edge that not many authors can pull off. Always impressive. Always left wondering what could be better than this. 5 stars.

I can't for the life of me remember what happened in the first one, I even went back to read the blurb and my review...nada. I kept reading this one, it was 65 pages, hoped something might spark for me. I do remember that this one was a make or break for me if I would continue reading the series and I've decided, I'm ok with being done where I am here.

Alek, is not a good man. Even when he had the chance with Brynn, he didn't really take advantage of things. He wanted her to bend to his will. Sure he saved her, but he also gave her an out, which I thought she should have taken, her life would have been better.

I fear for Jade at the end, but not enough to keep reading to find out what happens when Alek finds her, because you know he will.

This is the second book in this series. I highly recommend reading book one first. Once again, this author has hit it out of the park with book two. This story is action and steam. The characters bring the story to life as well as leaving me sitting on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what will happen next. He has lost something and now he wants revenge. He is coming for them, just waiting to release his monster. I loved this book and can’t wait for the third book. This is a must read!

“It’s not about wanting.
It’s about needing.
Need for revenge.
Need for violence.
Need to let wrath consume me.”

After Wrath is the second riveting book in The Deadliest Sin Series by Gwyn McNamee. This is part of a series and is not meant to be read as a standalone. You won’t get the full impact of the story, or series, if you don’t read the books in sequence.
Each book is told from a different perspective, which really helps build the tension, suspense, and impact. I love the way Ms. McNamee wove this story/series- she left me guessing as to which direction she was taking the story, and series- and I was anxiously reading along to discover what would happen. There were quite a few shocks, twists, and surprising developments- which is quite a feat considering how short each book is.
As I said in my review for the first book- this might be a short story, but it packs quite a punch. It is dark, erotic, raw, bloody, brutal, and action-packed. I loved the complexity of the storyline, and of the characters. Being able to weave such clever twists, and create such complexities in such a short space is really a testament to Gwyn McNamee’s writing prowess!!
This is a hunt for revenge. Our character is consumed by his rage, his wrath is palpable! We are pulled into his vortex of rage and death-dealing mission, where we get a front row seat to all the action; from Pittsburgh, to Cuba, and Argentina- he leaves a bloody trail of violence in his wake. But will his obsession be his undoing?
The epilogue of this book made me sit up and take notice- the first time I read this book I was beside myself- I could not wait for the next book to be released to find out if what I thought was actually what was going on- because you never really know with Gwyn McNamee behind the wheel. And even though I have read this book several times now, the epilogue still makes my heart pound!
I’ve said this before, and I will say it again- Gwyn McNamee is one of my favourite authors, who can take any genre and deliver something that will completely enthrall me, every time. She’s such a brilliant storyteller, capturing my attention within moments of starting any of her stories and then taking me on a ride that will stay with me long after I’ve closed the book. This story is no different- and I especially loved how she worked and moulded the darkness of the theme. I think she wears darkness beautifully and this book/series is definitely one of my favourites of hers- ever!
One of the best things about this series, for anyone who hasn’t read it yet, is that all the books are available to read right now- so no waiting between books!!! #WINNING
Bravo!

Thank you, Gwyn McNamee!

Wow! Wow! Wow! Each time I pick up a Gwyn McNamee book I swear that there is no way this new one could possibly top the last of hers I just read. Yet, every time I am completely proven wrong. There is no exception to the rule with After Wrath. This is the second book in the Deadliest Sin Series, and I would highly recommend that you start with book one, Wrath, before diving into this one. I suppose if you really didn’t want to you could read it as a stand alone, but I can’t imagine these books being anything but worth every single moment of your time. I love that these are short and sweet, well not sweet but you know what I mean. I was able to fully enjoy this book in one sitting during a rainy evening and it was over just in time for me to get a wee bit of sleep. Of course it be over was devastating, especially considering it will be August before we get to see what will come next in this series. Perfect amount of time to do a re-read however!

Alek, oh my goodness Alek. The man I pictured while reading his story was the perfect ideal, the bad boy type that you bring home to mom just to bug her, yet delicious to and sweet when it comes down to romance with Brynn. We don’t see a lot of details from her considering this is written strictly from Alek’s point of view, but I actually like the way things turned out in that regards. Same heads up as last time, this book is a dark read, one that may have you going uh eww a few moments but honestly so worth every one. I like seeding Ms. McNamee write so dark, it is very suiting for her and quite possibly my favorite books that she writes. I look forward to seeing what else she has in store for us, whether it be with this series or any other goodies she may have up her sleeve! Thanks for this fantabulous read Ms. McNamee!

After Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 2) by Gwyn McNamee

5 ++++++++ Stars

************************************************

The first words out of my mouth when I finished this are hidden up in that line of stars for many reasons...the first being Amazon doesn't like swearing in their reviews and the 2nd is three of the words I used can not be added because they just can't… This was a short quick read but had the impact of a full length novel, that's just part of what this author does so perfectly!

This author hates me, I've decided that must be why she ended this book and the next one is not readily available yet...I can close my eyes and picture her finishing this part, setting the date for the next and then sitting back saying...Yes..that will do with an evil evil laugh while doing so!

So as I've said many times regarding anything I read by this author, this was truly amazing..I'm getting used to the darker side and feel like it might be totally mastered by this author as well as anything else she writes.

DO NOT read this one without reading Wrath, trust me on this, it wont work...As hard as I tried to despise Alek he found a way to draw me in and with his future plans floating out there waiting to find their way into book 3 I just can't figure out how this author is going to handle all of this and that's why she’s the writer and I'm the reader.

I cant write anymore without saying too much so I'm going to end this here with the hope that anyone that reads this review will run out and immediately one click both of the books in this series...They are amazing and I just don't know if I will make it to August...Sigh….

WOW! This author is a favorite of mine. Her work is ALWAYS flawless. She is mindful of every detail. All beautifully articulated. Perfectly paced. All the feels. So when I started this gem I was ready to get my mafia fix on. I love well executed surprises. Twists - bring them on.

I wasn't ready for Alek! LOL...just dayummm.

He is the grittiest, most intense, dark and dangerous character imaginable. No one in there right mind would want to be on the receiving end of this mans Wrath. Alek makes his moves swiftly and does not hold back. I gasped more times than I could count. His own reaction and burning rage evokes some feelings I am not at all comfortable with feeling under the circumstances - because he manages to be sexy even covered in blood. There I said it. Gah what kind of person have I become? sheesh

His chemistry and reaction to Brynn is immediately endearing. His struggle is legit. He knows he doesn't deserve her or anyone is his life. He knows they wouldn't be safe. But what he wasn't prepared for is how she reacts and feels toward him. To say the whole scenario is dark is quite the understatement. However as twisty as it is - these two are just glorious! Can't wait to see where this goes.

Where some reveals were made, there are still many unanswered questions. Where this series will lead is anyone's guess at this point. I love the tie in to the Inland Series. Nice touch! The wait for the next installment will be sweet torture for sure.

Let me start by explaining a little about Alek. He’s dark, dangerous, violent, bloody, destructive, and…I love it! The man has serious issues and takes way too much enjoyment out of what he does and it seriously turns me on! Crazy right??? Gwyn has the uncanny ability to make you completely fall in love with her characters, no matter how gritty, dirty, and bad they are! She has quickly become one of my absolute favorite authors. Even in a quick read such as this one, the story line is so detailed, raw, and emotional that you see and feel every word she writes.

This is book two in the Deadliest Sin series and they must be read in order. Book one left me in shock. Book two, After Wrath, picks up with Aleksander seeking revenge on those who he feels have wronged him. Seeking to unleash the wrath of the Dragon and no one will stand in the way of him reaching his goal. The ending was completely unexpected and left me full of anticipation with how this can all possibly play out! The only thing I know for certain is that it will most certainly not disappoint! This series is gritty, violent, powerfully emotional, thought provoking, and sexy! I can’t wait to delve into Book 3 and see what journey the author takes us on! As is everything else I have read by this author, this is a 5-star must read series!

After Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Book 2) by Gwyn McNamee was a dark, twisted read, that weirdly had me hooked.

Taking place in the aftermath of the first book, we're once again taken on a war path of crime, rage and powerful dark love. I was captivating right away, just like the first book, the dark tones, the lust, the powerful characters are something to behold, and something that will hook you in seconds. I've never been one to read mob type books, but this fast, exciting read, was different. As they are around 100 pages, the story moves fast, there's no fluff, no distractions to take away from the plot, but it doesn't skip on the detail or character growth. These books pck a powerful punch, and managed to get under your skin and ignite the feels.

Overall this book is a must read, and I highly suggest reading the first book, as you won't get the full effect of this one without it. So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will not be able to book this book or this series, down.

Happy Reading

A quick mafia romance, this one starts where Wrath left off but from a different POV. Alek is head of a different mob family and has come back to the States to seek revenge for Konstandin killing his cousin/affiliate/whatever in the first book. It follows him through his business dealings as he searches for Lorenc and Rae/Jade.

I must say, I enjoyed this book more than the first book. Alek is effing BRUTAL. And kinda insane. He has all of these ideals in his head about how the others messed up and how he can handle things that won't have him making the same mistakes. And then enters Brynn...

I can't say much more because it isn't a long tale and I don't want to give away too much. Just know it's violent in that sick, mafia way, and hot as hell when Alek and Brynn come together.

My interest in this series has definitely picked up. I'm very much anticipating where things are going to go from her. I have a feeling everything is going to come to a bloody head.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

After Wrath is written entirely from the main male characters pov. I say main male character because no way would I ever call Aleksander/The Dragon a hero! He is glowering, moody, aggressively alpha and deliciously dark. Unafraid to get blood on his hands and with very little patience, Aleks is the man you know will be very bad for you, but who you just can't resist.

Written entirely from his point of view, and with it also being a novella, it is harder to get a full picture of Brynn/Kitty. I liked what I saw, a strong woman willing to do what it takes to get by but with a good heart and kind soul. I definitely need more of her in future books, more of her with Aleks but also more of her just being.

Having only just read Squall Line I can barely believe this is written by the same author. The entire feel of the book is different it is rougher, sharper, grimier and darker. Violence and torture is second nature to Aleks, living in his world of power, pursuit and pain.

The book is part of an ongoing series and whilst you could probably follow most of this book without having read Wrath first I would encourage reading the books in order. The ending is at a natural point, rather than a cliffhanger, though with the story definitely unfinished! With its captivating writing, enthralling plot, amazing characters, not to mention that doozy of an epilogue I will 100% be continuing with this series.

I won't use the expletives that were coming out of my mouth when I finished this book. However, it went along the lines of Holy F'ing Sh...
Wow. Just wow. Aleksander is dark, and I mean DARK. He's no hero by any stretch. He is the ultimate bad dude, and there is no “taming” him. I don't even want to say that he's a bad boy, because he is so far from being a boy it's not even funny. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around everything. If you like dark romance, you'll love this series because this is darker than Wrath, and I can only imagine how Surviving Wrath is going to finish the overall story. Wait, no, I can't imagine it because there is no way to know what is going to happen because there is no predicting it.
I love that this and the Inland Seas series are obviously in the same world, and I'm going to leave it at that.
Gwyn McNamee knows how to spin a story that leaves you topsy turvy, scratching your head and saying WTF?!?!?!

After Wrath by Gwyn McNamee is the second book in the Deadliest Sins series. This series absolutely has to be read in order as it follows the same characters and is a continuation of the story.
I didn’t think after book 2 that this series could get any better but the author certainly brought her A game. This was incredible.
Alek is the exact opposite of a hero but that does not stop you from being drawn into him all the same. He is dark, angry and unafraid to exert his strength and power.
Again this is a short story but it really didn’t feel that way. It was as detailed and well written as a full length novel. And even if it had been full length it would have still be over too soon. If you are looking for something that isn’t your typical romance, that is a little bit more dark than your usual books then this is the series for you. Another 5* read from someone who is fast becoming a firm favourite of mine.

I have a huge crush on this author and one click her books w/out question (I have purchased this one in paperback because THAT COVER!!!!.) Where The Hawke Family Series was a little dark and The Slip Series was light rom-com, The Deadliest Sin Series is WICKED and feels like it's going to be a "chapter book" for adults.

AFTER WRATH is dark and sinister and oh so good. I'm not sure where this side of the author comes from. Who knew??? The story is well developed and easy to follow the plot as it unfolds. I don't want to say anything else because I don't want to give anything away. I will share my favorite (or one of them anyway) quotes from the book: "Get In. Get Off. Get Out. Get Gone."

Book 1 absolutely must be read before reading this one.

It is currently May and the next story of the series does not come out until August. I feel like Veruca Salt in WILLY WONKA screaming "I WANT IT NOW".

I absolutely 100% recommend this story.

“They just woke a sleeping dragon. The years I’ve spent in the background have come to an end. It's time to take my rightful place at the head of the family.”

This man, Aleksander, is just plain evil. Until he meets Brynn. But even her love is not enough for the dragon to change. She does bring out his caring side but this story is entitled After Wrath for a reason. There are no rainbows and unicorns in this story. Aleksander is on a mission. His mission is to avenge Saban’s death. Family comes first, no matter which Mafia family you are a part of.

I have said in my past review for McNamee, unforeseen twists. Twists that make you scream at your reading device. Twists that make you cry with sadness and with hope. McNamee is a master twist writer.

This book, well really this series, is not for the faint of heart. It is for readers that like dark, twisted, unimaginable stories. Way to go, McNamee! Looking forward to the ending?

After Wrath (The Deadliest Sin) by Gwyn McNamee is a fierce and unrelenting sequel that raises the stakes in the dark world of organized crime in Chicago. Picking up where Wrath left off, this installment delivers even more intensity, driven by the protagonist’s unbridled need for vengeance. McNamee crafts a story charged with raw emotion and brutal action, showing the true cost of rage and the lengths one man will go to unleash justice on those who shattered his life. The writing is gripping and powerful, pulling readers deep into a world where violence and passion are intertwined, and the consequences of wrath ripple through every shadowed corner. After Wrath is a must-read for fans of dark, high-stakes crime dramas that explore the depths of retribution. As part of The Deadliest Sin series, it brilliantly builds on the foundation laid in the first book, ensuring readers are hooked and bracing for the storm that follows.

In my review for Wrath Book #1 I said I would reserve judgment until I read book #2. Well I just read book #2 and damn you Gwyn, damn you.

I thought while reading the first half of this book I wasn't going to be able to finish this series. But OMG, I was so wrong. Not only am I going to finish it, I don't know if I'll be able to wait until August.

This book is well written. The characters are really scary and not someone I'd like to meet in a dark alley or even a well lit mall.

The only downside to these books, they are cliffhangers. I'm not a very patient person.

It takes a lot for me to give a book 5 ⭐'s. I really have to be impressed. Well Gwyn color me impressed because I give this novella a very BIG 5 ⭐'s. Congratulations on a very well written book.

I read an advanced copy.

After Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 2) By Gwynn McNamee
4 Stars!!!!

I must admit that I was really anticipating this book! I read the first and was on bated breath waiting to see how the story would continue to unfold. I most certainly wasn't let down. I really find the author's writing style to be quite refreshing.

The relationship between Brynn and Alek is unique. The whole possessiveness from Alek is bordering on psycho but you can really sense the protectiveness. The whole bad boy vibe just drips off of him and the I am the big man comes across. I also found it quite interesting how the author ties the second book to the first and was on tender hooks to see how Lorenc and Rea were and really routing for them to stay safe. I really can't wait to read more from this author and series in the future.

After Wrath
By Gwyn McNamee
5 stars

So after what happened at the end of Wrath (book 1) I wasn’t so sure I was going to like the second book in the series but I absolutely loved it! Again it was dark, gritty and a little gruesome (although not quite as much as book 1 as things are left more to the readers imagination) and I loved the characters. It took me a little while, well a few pages anyway, to get to like Alek I wasn’t quiet expecting him to win me over like he did but the way he was with Kitty (Brynn) was really sweet, he may have not wanted to like her but it was obvious in the things that he did that she meant something to him. The chemistry between them was hot and there were certainly some steamy moments also!
I am extremely excited for the next book in the series ‘Surviving Wrath’! I cannot wait to see what happens next!!

After Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Book 2) by Gwyn McNamee is the second book in the series, and you need to start with book one, Wrath, before reading this one. These books are short but pack a punch and I read them in one sitting. The story is written from the male perspective and I loved being inside his head. It is one dark read but it is so good and Gwyn does it well.

Alek has vowed vengeance against his brother and those that had a hand in it. He knows that everything that happened was because no man can resist a woman and he knows he will never ever let that happen to him. Revenge has never felt so good and the anticipation of the torture to come lights a fire in the mans psyche.

I look forward to seeing what else Gwyn has in store for us, no matter what it is I know I will enjoy it.

By: Gwyn McNamee
5 out of 5 stars

The story After Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Book 2) by Gwyn McNamee is a book that is dark and intense. It had me hooked from the very start and I read it all in one sitting. The author does an amazing job of making the storyline and characters come alive. This is a book the includes raw and powerful emotions. It grabs your attention and doesn’t let go until you have finished the final page. You enter a world that is cold and calculating. I found myself holding my breath and turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. This is a journey that you don’t want to miss out on taking. I highly recommend reading this book.

After Wrath (Deadliest Sin Series Book Two) by Gwyn McNamee

5-Stars

After Wrath was exciting, emotional, and full of action. I feel it was just as good as book one and a great addition to this series. I do recommend reading book one before reading this second installment. There is a lot that provides back story to this novel in book one. Aleksander is the main character of this novel and he steps in to revenge his brother Seban and reclaim his brother's territory. He seeks those who got away in book one. I loved the development of his character in this short novel and also the affect Kitty had on him. I really enjoyed this easy to read novel and highly recommend it. I cant wait to see what more this author has in store.

After Wrath is the second book in the The Deadliest Sin series by Gwyn McNamee If you did not read Wrath you should read that book first to get all the back information on After Wrath. Now I will take a deep breath and say that I LOVED Wrath, BUT I LOVE After Wrath a little more. Gwyn McNamee does an amazing job of linking the two stories together. There is so much raw emotion that my emotions just were all over the place. I will warn you that you may not stop reading this book until the end. This is a dark story and with Wrath being one of the seven deadly sins I expected this story would be dark. Here is my favorite quote found in the summary:
“The Dragon will rise.
Death will reign.
Because wrath is the deadliest sin.”

After Wrath ( The Deadliest Sin Series Book 2) by Gwyn McNamee. This is the 2nd book in the Deadliest Sins books and you really should read Book 1 before this one. Its a super short read but let me tell you when you start you won't want to put it down til you are done. Its the story of Aleksander aka Alek told from his perspective which is a little different from what I'm used to but I enjoyed it. Alek is trying to get revenge for his brother Saban and reclaim his territory. There is also the story line with Brynn aka Kitty. Alek is so dark, intense and brooding but around Brynn he's soft and can actually be sweet even if he doesn't want to like her. The chemistry between them is intense and burns thru the pages! This book is a must read and you will get sucked in just like I did!

After Wrath is the second novella in The Deadliest Sin series. The story introduces Saban's family, and Aleksander AKA "The Dragon" is searching for revenge. A long-term goal for sure since his men are struggling to find information, but they eventually make some headway.

Alek meets Kitty, one of his dancers, has captured his attention. She shouldn't. He should stay away from her. But what happens when she is persistent and he crumbles because even though he shouldn't, he wants her too.

I cannot wait for third next novella, but Gwyn McNamee's official reading order recommendation is to read the next Inland Seas novel, Rogue Wave to get the full effect of the interconnected stories. And I cannot wait!!

After Wrath is the second book in the Deadliest Sin Series and you have to have read Wrath first. If you are looking for a different type of romance, one that is brutal, not your everyday hearts and roses and has hard, dangerous men who have no mercy. Then this may be a book and series you want to take a look at.
Alek has come to get vengeance for the wrongs that have been done, but first he has to find the root of the problem. On his road to vengeance Alek comes across Brynn. A staggering woman who is only trying to better herself and take of her ill mother.
That epilogue just blew everything I thought up.

So in this book we are introduced to Aleksander aka Alek. He is an evil bad boy and his sick nature will make you fall in love with him. Alek seeks revenge on behalf of his murdered brother but at the same time he comes across a woman (Kitty) who just makes him feel like a decent human again.

1. In this book we discover that Konstandin is "dead".
2. Rea and Lorenc are on the run.

My heart shattered when I heard Konstandin is dead but at the same time, I was happy I met Alek.
Alek went after Kitty's ex (after he beat her up) and took care of her and her mother.

I had to read this book immediately after the first.

This is a series you will not want to put down.

Wow! Alek is so full of anger, he’s dark, dangerous and out for revenge and he has no qualms about blood on his hands. I liked Brynn, she’s got a kind heart, will do anything for you, the complete opposite of Alek. Alek and Brynn’s story is dark and twisted and once he’s unleashed his wrath, how many lives will be changed forever? You will be on the edge of your seat, waiting for what’s coming, and I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next with this series. Loved this book, no spoilers here, I highly recommend this book.

After Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Book 2) by Gwyn McNamee

This is a continuation from book 1, so these MUST be read in order.

While this story follows someone else, it's his side of the aftermath from book 1, and how he is using all his resources to find someone. Even though he's to be the bad guy, i found myself drawn to him, he's a bad boy what do you expect lol.
And the ending had me cursing and saying I totally knew it. What a must read series and it now needs to be August so we can get the next one as I NEED it now!

I loved Wrath (book 1), and I was so excited to read this second book! I love how this author can piece together a work of art with her writing. Her characters have a way of coming to life in my heart, and Aleksander and Brynn were absolutely wonderful. Yes, it's gritty, yes, it's dark, but all in the name of love and the need to possess and protect at all costs! This book did me in, so hard! I drooled, I clenched. and even laughed. But most of all, I swooned in the very best of ways! It was, simply put, perfect!
