Natalie has created a stunning first book of poetry in “Where Does The Dark Live”.
It reads like a bedtime story full of hope and warning. It lifts up while still keeping us on the ground.
She has a great relationship with words and plays flawlessly with rhyme and sounds. These poems are just begging to be read to others and shared with all.
a short and wonderful collection of poems from a great booktuber (weirdo book club). i will say that the typography was really hard to read and hurt my head, but it's only 34 pages and it's on kindle unlimited! here are a few of my favorites:
"how sad would it be to stand at the end and hate what i see? what a shame it would be to miss out on loving me."
"she's sweet but she's got teeth."
"don't underestimate a tender heart. they have felt and endured so much and still they continue to exist and remain soft."
5⭐️ I love that Natalie’s words gently takes you by the hand and leads you on a journey into your own interpretations of her poetry. Every single one of her poems are relatable. They’re short and sweet.
Beautifully honest and poignant. As with much of Natalie's artwork, Where Does The Dark Live? speaks to me and puts things into words where I might struggle. "Don't underestimate a tender heart." 💜
This is a very short and quick read. I love the way Natalie writes. You can feel the raw emotion that went into these poems. I truly hope to get more from this author!
Poetry isn't my normal genre, but when I found out one of my favorite creators had a book, I had to pick it up and read it. Natalie writes from the heart in every word. I relate to this little collection of poems so much, and when a book speaks to me like this one does, you know it's gonna be a favorite. Mental health, love, pain and hope come through in this little work of poetry and I can't recommend it enough.
This collection of poetry was a lovely read. It was more positive and optimistic that what I was anticipating, which surprised me but also made me like it even more. I underlined a few excerpts and some of them really resonated with me. I would have enjoyed to read more of Natalie's poems. 4.5 rounded up.
… between the words & you & me. Wonderfully written & poignant in these times. Natalie captures what most of us feel when we give ourselves time & space to think & feel them.
Natalie clearly poured her soul into this work, and nearly every page resounded within me. It’s phenomenal and I’ve already shared it with a couple of friends as I devoured it.
