Outfoxing their enemies will be a bear of a task.

Aspiring journalist and fox shifter David ends up with a target on his back after hacking the Moreau Initiative, the shifter world’s greatest enemy. But he won’t let that stop him from the campus tour road trip that’ll help him become the next Anderson Cooper… even if his family insists he travel with a grumpy grizzly bear bodyguard.

Buddy Brady is older, sexy, and too damn distracting for David, and as the sexual tension builds, so does the suspicion around the repeated attacks—first in Chicago, then in New York. Someone is tracking them, and all clues point to a traitor in the shifter ranks. Worst of all, they could be after David’s family....

j. leigh bailey is an office drone by day and the author of Young Adult and New Adult LGBT Romance by night. She can usually be found with her nose in a book or pressed up against her computer monitor. A book-a-day reading habit sometimes gets in the way of... well, everything...but some habits aren't worth breaking. She's been reading romance novels since she was ten years old. The last twenty years or so have not changed her voracious appetite for stories of romance, relationships and achieving that vitally important Happy Ever After. She's a firm believer that everyone, no matter their gender, age, sexual orientation or paranormal affiliation deserves a happy ending.

She wrote her first story at seven, which was, unbeknownst to her at the time, a charming piece of fan-fiction in which Superman battled (and defeated, of course) the nefarious X Luther. She was quite put out to be told, years later, that the character's name was actually Lex. Her second masterpiece should have been a best-seller, but the action-packed tale of rescuing her little brother from an alligator attack in the marshes of Florida collected dust for years under the bed instead of gaining critical acclaim.

Now she writes Young Adult LGBT Romance novels about boys traversing the crazy world of love, relationships and acceptance.

A solid sequel carrying on the mystery of a sinister shifter extremist group that was breached by MC David who was trying to help find answers for friends in the previous installment. Here, despite the high probability that a target’s on his back, he’s determined to go on a road trip to interview for grad school admission, and he’s none too pleased when his council ruling mom saddles him with a bodyguard.

All the points go towards Buddy - another wonderful gentle giant who’s inherent size often leads to being misunderstood and who has his own hidden dreams that he wishes he could pursue. This was a sweet romance in between a cat and mouse chase that was not surprisingly simplistic.

Overall, another standard Beyond entry that delivers an easy read.

Using the events of the previous book as a major springboard for storytelling, this fourth instalment of the Shifter U series sees more mystery and romance unfold for these young and driven shifters.

The shifter lore, as well as many of the returning characters, remain the strong point of this series, largely set in the small-town of Cody, Wyoming, where a University (AKA Shifter U) has been established for shifters to grow and learn, safely.

Though, fairly divergent from the previous three books in the series, this fourth, and presumably final, instalment, mostly took place on a road-trip across country, so many of the core settings were disregarded here completely.

We do, however, get to see a bunch of familiar faces from across the series and we get to follow-up on the larger plot surrounding the dangerous Moreau Initiative, whom first appeared in earlier books and have been set-up to be the main BIG BADS of the series in their threat to shifter-kind.

Having read the previous stories, I still found the happenings of this book hard to keep track of, if I’m being honest. Although it hadn’t been too long since I read the previous book, I still struggled to place characters and dive back into the somewhat convoluted plot. In this way, I wouldn’t recommend reading these books out of order, because that way lies confusion and madness.

I semi-enjoyed the road trip element, but again, I didn’t enjoy being away from the Shifter U setting (regardless of if the series title has recently been changed to Buddy’s Café… which works even less-so, as far as I’m concerned).

The romance, between feisty, obstinate David and bodyguard bear-shifter Buddy, had its ups and downs, mostly because David was TSTL for 60% of the story, and by the time he stopped acting like a moron, the damage had been done and I no longer cared about his happiness (or survival, if I’m being brutally honest). But it should be noted that gentle-giant Buddy held this story up on his strong and sweet shoulders, making all David’s trying bullshit more manageable.

Mostly, I was hoping for a stronger story and romance—much like I experienced with book three, The Night Owl and the Insomniac—but having not really enjoyed the first two books in the series, this one sort of fell into a middle-rating zone, neither leaving a horrible impression or an impressive one.

All fox shifter David Sherman wanted to do was help a friend. He hadn’t meant to bring the attention of the Moreau Initiative down onto the Shifter Council. And he hadn’t meant to get caught using his mother’s computer, especially when, as the head of the council overseeing shifters in the western part of the United States, she has important information in her files — files someone very nearly hacked because of David.

This latest installment in the ‘Shifter U’ series is as entertaining, action-packed, and suspenseful as the first three volumes. Set in a contemporary world where shifters are not known to humans and congregate at certain universities and places where they feel comfortable, the stories are loosely connected but can be read as standalones. ‘Fox Hunt’ features David, a fox shifter who wants to be a journalist, and Buddy, a grizzly bear shifter hired to be his bodyguard after David inadvertently draws the attention of the Moreau Initiative. This group put to experiment on shifters briefly appeared at the end of the previous book, but they grow into full-blown villains now. Watching David and Buddy try to evade them while on a road trip to visit prospective universities for David’s master’s degree was exciting as well as occasionally very funny.

After making himself a target because he unknowingly let Moreau Initiative hacks the shifter network while trying to look for information on the deep web, David Sherman reluctantly lets Buddy Brady be his bodyguard, as David visits graduate school colleges. Of course, David doesn’t believe that there’s an actual threat … except the attraction that he is developing for the older bear shifter.

This is the latest story in Leigh Bailey’s “Shifter U” series… and it has a connection with the previous book, “The Night Owl and the Insomniac”, which first introduced the possible shifter enemy: The Moreau Initiative. I thought the story, in overall, was pretty cute and entertaining, albeit rather cliché in terms of character traits.

David, as the younger man, is more outgoing, and more expressive in showing that he is attracted to Buddy. While Buddy, who is older, and acts as bodyguard, is more reserved. However, the two do connect during this road trip. David is able to coax Buddy to be more open about his own wishes and dreams – and Buddy’s dream is actually really lovely.

Although, I also admit that Buddy doesn’t feel like a good bodyguard *laugh*. There are things that happening to the two of them, which I am sure a better bodyguard can avoid. I also think David is pretty annoying in his insistence about the threat level against himself. Come on, dude, you can at least be cooperative and help Buddy do his work!

One note that I need to say in here, by the way, Mommy Sherman is pretty bad ass!

The fourth book of the Shifter U series delivers the action, mystery, snark and romance I’ve come to expect after reading books 1 - 3. I’ve been wanting Buddy’s story/HEA since he was introduced and the story did justice to my anticipation. I love a literal bear of a man with the personality to match and it’s always been obvious that there was more to Buddy than his size, loyalty and curmudgeonly ways. He just never got the page time to prove it. Until now.

Buddy gets hired to be a bodyguard to fox shifter David after David gets popped hacking into the dark web which in turn open the door to the Moreau Initiative to get access to the shifter servers. David doesn’t have a malicious bone in his body, he’s just a little young, a little naive and a little inexperienced to see far enough ahead and the negative repercussions of his actions. It sucks, and it was an honest mistake. David was trying to help a friend and he figured his journalistic sleuthing skills would serve him well. Instead they got him into trouble, again.

David feels he plays second fiddle to his perfect brother and being the son of the pack alpha doesn’t lighten the pressure on him in the slightest. So, he tries harder than he needs to, but it’s understandable.

Buddy owns his busy and bustling coffee shop, but for the most part he keeps his head down and to himself. There’s definite attraction between Buddy and David, but Buddy keeps David at arms length. He’s there to do a job (he comes from a long line of Enforcers) and David is just too young and beautiful.

The two of them get closer as they spend more time together. They open up to one another and the conversations between them were by far my favorite parts.David is pretty much an open book, but Buddy is more guarded and his background emerged organically as he began to trust David more and more. And the bestest part? The little “moments” they had. I love and am a complete sucker for “moments”. When Buddy spoke to David about his given name and his dreams and David’s reaction made me swoon pretty freakin’ hard. It’s good stuff and speaks to the marshmallowy part of my heart.

The mystery and bad guy kept the tension at just the right level and David’s family dynamics added to it all in a good way. The resolutions were good and not rushed which is always appreciated. The door is open for additional installments of the series, but this book could be read as a stand alone. The series is great fun with memorable characters so I’d definitely recommend the whole shebang though.

David and Buddy are an absolute treat and the coming together of characters like them is a favorite trope of mine. I had high hopes for this story and I’m so happy with everything the author gave these characters and then some.

I love this book! I need to read the rest of this series now. It's fun, full of thrills, excitement and suspense. The characters are sassy, but good. So determined they prove who they are.
David has always felt like he was stuffed under his brother's shadow. His brother was the favored one, the one who did everything right. And now that David had been caught in a hacking scheme that could lead to the shifters being found and found out, he's even more convinced he's nothing but a mess up. But he's determined to prove he's better than that and going to graduate school will help even more to reach his goal. But it comes with a price. A bodyguard at all times. Because his mom and the council think their may be a hit out on David now. David is pissed and tries to sneak out early, but is busted by his bodyguard, Buddy, a grizzly shifter. Who's determined to set some ground rules. But as they get moving on the road, the hits keep coming. No matter where they stop or move off the destination, they're found and someone tries to kill or kidnap David. And after they are caught, they break free but it comes at a cost. They know who is behind it all now and they shit is about to hit the fan. And just when David and Buddy have decided to share their lives forever. But forever may not be an option now that murderers are even closer than thought.
I know what it's like to live in someone's shadow. My oldest brother was the brainiac, with all this college stuff under his belt and why couldn't we all be like him. So I feel for David. You want to be known and loved for who you are and what you bring to life. Not be like someone else. And knowing he's not stuck with a bodyguard to boot. Yeah, not cool. The problem is, David isn't taking this hacking thing seriously and doesn't believe his life is in danger. He's quickly proved wrong, although, he doesn't want to admit it. But what makes things worse is the attraction he is feeling for Buddy. Who he's learning more about every day. Like the fact that he'd rather be called Theo. His real name. And so much more. The more he learns, the madder he gets at how people treat him. Just because he's a big guy and a grizzly shifter, doesn't mean he doesn't want to do what he wants with his life. No one considers him for anything and David has had enough.
For Theo, he's frustrated at first. But the more he gets to know David, the more things become real. But he's scared of crossing the boundaries of protector and lover. And the more David stands up for him, little Fox shifter David, the more he falls a little more in love. The dynamic between these two is so interesting. They are different as night and day, but there is no denying what they have together. And I love it. It's not conventional, but who cares. Let folks be.
It's a good book. People constantly after them, hacking, shooting, running, some hot sexy times. What more could you ask for? Lol

This is a fast, endearing, and sweet read. What I consider brain-candy reading - light and fun.

When I requested it, I didn’t realize it was part of the Shifter U series – I’ve read the first (Stalking Buffalo Bill) and missed the last two. This can be read as a stand-alone.

Blurb summarizes the plot well enough, so I won’t rehash. For the most part, I enjoyed the characters. Where I struggled with was a combination of David’s insistence that he wasn’t in any danger – despite something like four attempts on his life. He was chalking this up to coincidence. For someone who wanted to be a serious journalist, this incongruous character flaw didn’t work for me. I also found David’s behavior on the childish-side, which was a tich bit irritating.

I did enjoy how the relationship developed between David and Buddy: the realization that there is more to someone than appearances (so true!), that everyone has dreams, and that even Big Guys need someone to stand up for them. This was sooo sweet!

For myself, this was a solid middle of the road read. I’ll applaud the author adroitly avoiding the use of “mate!” (bless her!), I did enjoy reading Buddy’s down to earth approach to a road trip and driving safety (ironic because I read this on a road trip) and overall, this a fun story with a satisfactory ending. I’ll have to go back and catch up on the two I missed.

Following fairly directly after the third book (The Night Owl and the Insomniac) this book starts with David, who helped out by hacking Joey's birth records. This hack unexpectedly lead to the Moreau Initiative, which the Shifter Council didn't know of before. But rather than being seen as useful David's unintentional find is seen as yet another screw up in his life. The second son of the leader of the Western Shifter Council, David has been the problem child, from his shifting abilities to his decisions in life and education. Now he is suspected to have a target on his back which is just another screw up he has to get past while defending himself alone. But David has plans for his future in grad school and he is determined not to let this derail all his plans. In concession to his family David gets stuck with Buddy as a bodyguard on his road trip.

Things of course go awry on the trip. But as there is no clear connection to the Moreau Inititive and Buddy is able to keep David safe they are able to keep going on the trip. It slowly lets the two men learn more about each other, especially in times of stress. While it is clear that Buddy is great at being a bodyguard, he truly shines at times that he gets to be more. Guiding David through stressful times, supporting him when he is afraid but determined, and truly listening to his concerns are times when Buddy shines. It shows David how much more Buddy can be even though Buddy cannot see it for himself. As David tries to tell Buddy how much more he can be, Buddy takes the time to show David all that he is. The mistakes that David has made do not make him less. They have shaped him into a strong and resilient man who will keep working past his failures. As the two have to rely on each other more during the trip they become closer and build a connection that neither expected. But they also have to reach out for help when it becomes clear that something is threatening them and only the support of those they can trust with their lives, those select family and friends, will be able to help them get out alive.

This is a book about finding yourself and being who you actually want, no matter what stage of your life you are in. David always feels himself the family screw up who needs to live up to his perfect brother, while Buddy feels he has to stay as the wall of muscle and be the adult support for his younger brothers. These two are discovering new sides of each other when together and each is willing to truly support these changes. At the same time they are figuring out what that means for family. Even as adults family and support is still so essential in life, but it changes. Rather than being a fix it needs to be support, help, something to trust to lean back on. Buddy and David are learning how to be that for each other and also to reach out to their family in the same way. It was a journey with some mistakes and falters but support all along that lets them reach where they truly need to be.

Fox Hunt (Shifter U #4), by J. Leigh Bailey
★★★★★
268 Pages
POV: 1st person, one character
Content Warning: mentions of human/shifter trafficking and experimentation (off page)

Fox Hunt is another great action/adventure/romance book in the incredible Shifter U series. It is so rare that I pick up a series and give every book 5 stars. That each book is unique from the others, that it is just as engaging, entertaining, and wonderful as the others. I can count how many series fits that bill on one hand. This series just joined the list. It could go on forever and I'd read every book, without fail.

For me, the series is a case of two-halves. Books 1-2 are directly linked by an overarching plot, characters, events and timeline, flowing and linking with each other. Books 3-4 are the same. Though Fox Hunt *could* be read as a standalone from the rest in the series (as it does recap the events of the previous book well enough) I would definitely suggest reading *at least* Book 3: The Night Owl and the Insomniac, before you delve in. It will make things much clearer, as the events here began with Joey/Yusef and Owen's story.

Now, I'll freely admit, I've wanted a Buddy book since Book 1, when he first made his appearance. I thought he'd end up with the skittish human, Jesse. Then, in Book 2, David made his appearance only briefly; it wasn't until his part in Book 3 that I really wanted him to get his own story. By then, I was hoping he'd end up with someone tough, dominant and brash, like the Shifter Council guy, Benedict Snow. So, colour me surprised when the two most interesting characters ended up in a book TOGETHER! I didn't see it coming. But I loved every second of it.

Buddy – or, Theo – was everything that I wanted for David, and everything that I hoped he'd be, when I kept getting glimpses of him throughout the series. David was just as awkward, twitchy and nosy as a journalist should be, and Buddy was the tough on the outside, teddy-bear on the inside kind of guy I hoped he'd be. Together, the chemistry was off the charts.

I could go on all day about what a great story it was, but there's only so much I can say without mentioning the plot, which gets all spoiler-y. So...brilliant action/adventure plot, well paced timeline, engaging and charming characters, slow burn romance with some sexy times, and intense chemistry. It was everything I wanted it to be and more.

I can't wait for the next installment of the Shifter U series. I've got my fingers crossed for a Benedict Snow appearance.

I love this series. I really really do!!! Each book is different but each book brings together current and past characters. It makes each read so much better that is for sure!!! Another thing about this series is each book has an element of mystery and danger to them and this book followed suit. I love how this book was so action packed with both serious undertones and also some silliness as well by one or more of the characters.

David is an aspiring journalist. He went to Cody college and is now ready to transfer to another college where they have a better journalism course study. But before this can happen David finds himself farting into trouble with not only his mom and brother but the shifter council as well. David did a very stupid thing by using the shifter council computers to hack into places he should not have been but he did it for a good reason. He was trying to help a friend find out who he is and David was looking for adoption records for him. But in the process he caught the attention of a group called the Moreau Initiative.

Now that things have seemed to have cooled off for David after his troubles, David is ready to visit the colleges on his list to see which will fit him and his needs. The only way his mom will agree to let this happen is if Buddy goes along with him for protect just in case.

To say David is not thrilled about his turn of events is not saying a lot. He even goes so fast as to try to ditch Buddy. But Buddy has a better handle on David then David realizes. When danger soon finds David again, both Buddy and David are going to have to work together to stay safe.

Somewhere in the midst of everything going on, David and Buddy give in to the attraction to one another. This makes things more intense between them because he danger keeps coming and both feel the need to protect the other.

What will happen when David and Buddy stumble across the information that the bad guy in all this is actually a lot closer to home? Will a relationship started and built around danger be able to withstand everything once the smoke finally settles?

This was a great read. There is a lot of action in the mid reward and even though David can have a serious side, his silliness and happiness leaps off the pages as well. I look forward to the next book when it releases and comes out!!!

Shifter U is a series that I discovered thanks to the Dreamspun Beyond subscriptions. I loved the previous volume The Night Owl and the Insomniac and I was impatient to discover David's story that the author had left in a precarious situation at the end of the last books.
As for The Night Owl and the Insomniac, I had a lot of fun reading this new story and learning more about two characters that had been discovered vaguely previously. David is a very independent, stubborn and extremely naive character with an "ostrich" side who put his head in the sand until the problem disappears. On the other hand, we have Buddy who is his opposite. He is a person with a good head on his shoulders, who does not like to take unnecessary risk. I loved their personal evolution and that of their relationship. They each bring a little touch that was missing from the other to be a totally fulfilled person.
I appreciated that the romance takes its time. It’s a real "road trip" and the action is not just a pretext for the love story between the two men. We are really following the events of the previous volume. The author gives us answers some questions and open others who I hope will have their answers in future books.
I can only advise you to discover this title which mixes, adventure and romance and which will be a perfect companion for your summer.

Appearances can be deceiving as well as basing ones opinion on an individual based on past behaviour and innuendo. In this case, both men are privy to it. David bases his initial assessment of Buddy on appearance. Big man, meant to follow orders, low intelligence. Buddy does the same. However, as each man gets to know the other they discover that's incorrect. There is more to each man.

David finds Theo to be sweet and nuturing. He wants more than to be an enforcer. He wants to help and not hurt. Make a positive impact as he did with his brothers. I enjoyed the yoga moments too.

David is focused. So focused to prove others wrong that he blows off the attempts on his life. He misses what should be obvious. Through this he grows and isn't as shallow as he appears to be initially.

Their attraction didn't appear contrived. A slow build up. None if the pushing away continuously, which gets vexing quickly.

I went back and read the other books since characters make a reappearance. Book can be read without doing that. This was my favourite. More polished and world building strengthened.

It was nice to see relationships, familial and personal, solidified.

Bad guy though, figured that one out upon meeting him. Took a while to reveal. Wasn't surprised.

This is a new to me author and this is the fourth book in this series, yet it can be read as a standalone as this is the first book by this author that I have read and I was very easily able to understand and I never felt like I was missing something. I really liked this book it was fun and low angst, yet very engrossing as I found it hard to put it down. I will absolutely be reading the first three as well as other books by this author.

David is a fox shifter and boy has he managed to step in it. He was caught hacking into the deep web which allowed the Shifter Council to be hacked into. When he assigned a bodyguard/babysitter for his protection he is not happy about it.
Buddy is a grizzly shifter and he is hired as a bodyguard/babysitter for David as the spends 3 weeks traveling to visit colleges. When attacks and coincidences start piling up, they both realize that maybe they aren't coincidences at all.

I really liked not only the main characters but all the other characters as well...except the bad guys! This story was so engaging and I really connected with the characters.
This story was so good and I look forward to reading more by this author and I highly recommend reading this book.

This book is the fourth book of the Shifter U series, but you don’t really need to read the previous books. There are some moments that would make sense if you did read them. But it’s to give flavour to the story and enhance it a bit.
The story revolves around David, a university student intent on finding the right university for his career in journalism. With a terrorist group intent on getting of his skills and talents as a hacker, his mother insists that a bear shifter enforcer goes along on his road trip to protect him from his followers.
This novel was a lot of fun as the author takes some shifters norms and twists them a bit. Buddy does not want to be an enforcer. Secretly he wants to be a teacher and help others in that manner. David just wants to be himself without his mother (leader of the Council) and brother (super smart) expecting him to screw up.
This was a cute novel with some mild heat and a whole lot of heart. If you like enforced grumpiness and car rides and cloak and dagger stunts, this book (as well as the others in the series) is for you.

FUN! FUN! FUN!
This is my first book by J. Leigh Bailey and I must say that I've become this author's newest fan, because after I finished reading it I have David and Buddy to ad to my list of favorite characters.

David has a knack for getting himself in trouble or putting his foot in his mouth. He's irreverent, sassy and with absolutely no filter. He's just so darn cute!

And Buddy...he's my favorite kind of man: big and gentle, stern and caring, protective and giving and I love how sweet and adorable he can sometimes be.

Fox Hunt is also a mystery and full of action, because somebody wants David dead. But despite the fact that his and Buddy's lives are in danger, the story is told in such an entertaining way that I couldn't stop snickering all through reading it. The book is funny, hot, thrilling and I couldn't put it down.

So you're looking for laughter, intrigue and romance, Fox Hunt is the book for you.

Being seen and loved for who you are is amazing! I so enjoyed David and Buddy's journey. They start out very different men with little in common and as time goes by, we find so many common themes for them. They connect on a very special level and i will hold their story dear. I really liked both MC's and loved how Buddy became Theo to David.

The writing flowed and the story-line was creative and well written. I liked many of the supporting characters and hope to see David's brother find his own HEA in a future story soon.

This is the fourth book in the Shifter U series, but can be read as a standalone. This is the only book in this series that i have read and i did not feel lost.

I was gifted this book from the LesCourt Author Services and i freely give my honest opinion and review.

This is a fun shifter story, a light, entertaining read, that is a part of a series, but can be read as a standalone. A bodyguard to lovers romp, after almost getting caught hacking the enemy of shifters, it is decided that David will have a bodyguard on his trip, The relationship with Buddy was fun and organic in how it evolved, but David I found to be slightly irritating, as he completely disregarded Buddy’s assertion that he was in danger, until it was almost too late. The chemistry between David and Buddy was so good they are so different but like magnets are drawn together. The story is light, fluffy, fun, a totally low angst read that is perfect for a sunny afternoon.

I would recommend this to anyone who wants to read a book that isn’t heavy, takes no thinking, but is a joy to read.

When I started this book I didn't realise it was book 4 of a series but I don't think that impacted too badly on my reading experience. This is a bodyguard to lovers story. There was no immediate attraction, in fact guys had to learn how to co-exist before they could even become friends.
Bearing in mind the situation that had caused David to need a bodyguard I think the guys were a bit slow on the uptake when people started shooting at them :) What starts as a road trip tale soon ends up as an evading the bad guys and finding the traitor story.
I adored Buddy and his protective instincts. And David's habit of panicking himself into fox form was cute.
A fun and entertaining read.

I really enjoyed this sweet romance. I loved the interactions between David and Buddy(Theo). They fit so well together. On a road trip that is filled with drama, danger and so much more they find their way to happiness.

They mystery will keep you turning the pages but the heart and sparks will have you swooning. I loved how each truly saw who the other person! The acceptance and devotion given is so sweet. Who could resist a big ole teddy bear? Not David!

While this is the fourth in a series it can be read as a standalone. I'm eager to read the first three!

This is the fourth book in The Shifter U Series. I would suggest reading the previous books in the series first it will make this book a better read. A good book the writing was okay. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters likeable. The characters were developed and thought out. Theo (Buddy) and David are the MC’s of this book. There were a few places that some detail or information was needed to improve the read. I did enjoy the reading the book. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

I know this was the fourth book in the series but I didn't realize it until after I finished – I was able to follow along with everything as it happened. The characters were great and their shifter sides were awesome.

I think a bear and fox shifter couple is new for me and I've read quite a few odd pairings over the years.

David is a driven young man who knows who he is and what he wants to do in life; he also has a lot of sass and "I don't need anyone to look after me" mentality, which can be good and also very bad, for anybody. Buddy is so different than David thought he was and I loved the reaction David had towards the bigger man.

I really liked Buddy; he was this big and strong guy who was so sweet but knew he had to keep a professional distance from David. I loved that once he decided on something it took a desperate situation to make him change his mind.

This was actually my first J. Leigh Bailey book and it had me hooked from the beginning, it was so good!

Fox Hunt by J. Leigh Bailey is the fouth book in the ShifterU series but can be read as a stand alone. It is a light and fun read with lots of action, mystery, suspense, danger, fun... and shifters! Oh and a sweet evolution of a relationship and scorching heat! David and Buddy take us on a great ride that I thoroughly enjoyed.

I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.

I will give this book a 4/5. I have read another book by this author and enjoyed it. Fox shifter David ends up in danger due to hacking an evil company. Brady, a bear shifter, ends up being assigned to be his bodyguard. Of course David does not make his job easy. The two men have several close calls and must work together to stay alive. Somewhere in all of their trouble they fall in love. But will that be enough to save them?

I quite enjoyed the story of Buddy and David. I loved how different they were and how they slowly develop a friendship and that becomes a beautiful love.
They are both head strong but learn to live with each other and respect each other.

I didn't see some things coming till the end, which was great and made me devour the book as fast as I could.

Really recommend for the story and the love

I think what I loved most about David and Buddy’s story was how they took the time to really listen and get to know each other. You can’t miss some things when you spend that much time together but you can overlook if you don’t pay attention. Both thought of the other. Add in the danger and suspense it was a very exciting read. And seeing past characters is always a plus.
