Sterling Denver did whatever it took to get the story. The famous tabloid writer had a reputation to uphold as one of the sharpest in the industry. Jake Ramesly was on a private flight back to the city to try to help sort out the mess in Ramesly Insurance after his father’s arrest. He didn’t believe for a moment that his father was guilty and intended to get to the bottom of things. Sterling knew that Jake was going to come back to the city. She used her sources and her cash to bribe her way onto his private plane as a stewardess. Now she had him all to herself for the six-hour flight. Sterling was about to get an exclusive interview from one of America’s most eligible bachelors while his family life imploded. Her career had never looked better. Then turbulence hit them… both in their temperaments and in the air. The plan crashed, and Sterling found herself stranded with the billionaire.
This is a series that is definitely best read in order and do not skip books. It took me longer to get into the plot of the story due to trying to sort out all the characters, their convoluted relationships, and the important details of the overarching series crime-drama. If I had my option, this would be a series that should be binged in a complete series boxset.
Sterling and Jake are intriguing characters with a lot of chemistry, but also a lot of negative history. Their mountain adventure is exhilarating and I was so happy with their relationship progress right to the point they reach town. The course of love certainly does not run smoothly for them.
I got a copy of this story on a sale from Amazon and voluntarily chose to share my review.
Sara/Sterling didn't mean to hurt anyone. But she was supporting a whole town. She had to write what she was told to write. And this time, Jake was the target. This book takes place toward the end of a series. But I haven't read the series; I came on it as a stand-alone. It does work that way, although the reader soon realizes it is what it is. I intend to find the rest of the series, a fact which should make my reaction clear. The male lead in this book is Jake, and I expect to learn more hi him as I catch up on the whole thing. Recommended for all readers of clean billionaire romantic suspense, but I do suggest that you read the series in order.
Well, I finished this book and still left with more questions. How many more books will there be in this series? I probably won’t read the others, if they are published because I’ll have moved on to other books. This book features Sara/Sterling and Jake. They survive a plane crash and seem to make a connection, but you won’t find out what happens for sure. There’s more books coming. I really hope the author does a better job with the next book. This is another 3.5 star read for me.
The story is more based on events rather than a love connection. Trying to solve a mega corporation scheme gone wrong type of thing. Great for young readers too.
