When your Mam is your angel love is only a matter of time. Isla is taxed with finding jobs and husband for four cousins. Asa is one of the gentleman to be considered, but he has different ideas. Aferall why would he continue to come to Heart and Home for meals when he has a home of his own. But his home is only a gilded cage. He needs a bird to fill it and Isla is who he wants, but will her heart let he close enough to him?

Wow

Love the sermon where teaches about moving toward or away from the Light in decisions and plans. Great prayers. Shows how God heals your brokenhearted to love again. Like how shows past thoughts and experiences and perceptions can limit your life options. All with good story and a good ending.

I truly enjoyed reading this book.
It's a delightful story about Isla & Asa.
Isla, is afraid to give her heart away,
only to have it broken, again.
Asa, is concerned financially,
he'll never be able to take care
of a wife & children.
But, maybe it's worth taking a chance,
when you care deeply for that person.
Isla, is asked by an angel, to help out
four women coming to live in Creede.
She has her hands full. Wanting to
spend time with Asa, & watching
out the women.
I loved everything about this story!!
A MUST READ!!

Such a heartwarming story!

I loved watching Isla and Asa, with the fun help of Mama M, work though their self imposed restraints and find where they are supposed to be! This story kept me reading from beginning to end, without putting it down!!! Truly a great read!!

Delightful and Awesome!

Asa- mine owner/manager and Isla- grew up poor
I emensley enjoyed reading this captivating story of 2 individuals learning and overcoming their past stigma that kept them from moving forward. But with the help of an angel and 4 new woman who she became responsible for and of course a vilian (of sorts) made for witty banter and interesting plot. Their story has a wonderful HEA.

Reviewed at Historically Romantic

If you’ve followed the Cowboys and Angels series then you’ve run into the McRae family before… if not, not to worry INVITATION FROM ISLA can stand on its own, but this series really is best when read in order as the overall story and history of Creede, Colorado builds throughout the series. Once again the angel mother of the McRae children steps in to ensure that her children find their happy futures, along with four new women who are getting a fresh start through Mam’s help and more than a touch of matchmaking by Isla. I adore Mam, she’s determined but also flitting off on other angelic duties so often that she leaves a lot of, or at least part, of her assignment in Isla’s capable hands.

Isla is a happy, cheerful young woman who knows all the information going around Creede – not from gossip but from observation and her customers tell her just about everything going on in their lives. She’s enjoyed a light flirtation with one of the mine owners, Asa, during the owner’s regular breakfast meeting. But she’ll not take that flirtation any further for Isla was badly hurt and humiliated once by a man she loved, she is not going to give her heart away again. Except, Asa is a kind man who she enjoys talking to and spending time with… but can she trust him with her heart.

Asa is not only the mine foreman but the owner as well, although he doesn’t let that fact get around much. He owns a lovely small home, an empty home that has no personal touches and in many ways, he longs to fill that home with a wife and family but he hesitates for he knows firsthand just how unstable his profession can be – and he would never place his family in jeopardy as his own father did. His attraction to Isla is strong yet he hesitates for he also doesn’t trust easily, but for different reasons.

Four young women, cousins, will arrive in Creede looking for a new start, job, and husbands. They’ve been encouraged to make this trip on the urging of one angel known to Isla. And once she gets over her surprise at seeing her Mam again she will step up and help make this assignment a success. But it’s interesting that of all the men in Creede she could introduce them to she always manages to hesitate or forget an introduction to Asa. Her attraction to this kind-hearted man is strong, but she still doesn’t trust it.

There is a touch of mystery and definitely danger in INVITATION FROM ISLA, as well as a delightful visit with one very special angel. Isla has so many preconceived prejudices about men from different classes and their treatment of women that she is blinded to Asa’s true intentions. She will not risk her heart on a rich man. Asa believes that he doesn’t have a dependable enough life to offer Isla as the mining profession is risky in physical harm and possible financial ruin, so he also hesitates to declare his affection. Watching them work their way through these obstacles, and meeting some new women to Creede was an engaging, enjoyable journey. I’m definitely hoping we get to follow along on the actual romances of these ladies.

I had such a good time once again in Creede. And if you love a good romance, likable, believable characters and love Western Historical Romance then you’ll feel right at home with this story.

MY TAKE
I love these guardian angel stories. This isn't the first time we see this particular one. This Scottish mother just has to make sure her children get their happily ever afters--and are safe. Isla is a sweetheart. She's helpful, kind-hearted, and feisty too. Asa's a good man, a mine owner who isn't afraid to get down and dirty with his men. He doesn't believe his is a good life for a married man, but then he meets Isla.

4.5 stars I really enjoyed the story, I liked that Isla’s mother was her angel. The story was sweet of love and friendship. There wasn’t a lot of drama but enough to keep it interesting. At first I thought it was strange to have their names so similar as Isla and Asa, but the more I read I got more used to it. The other comment was the four ladies that came on the train, maybe their love stories are to come and other books but I felt like the story just ended when they got jobs. I still enjoyed this book and recommend it for a short afternoon read.

I love this series and this book is another family reunion in more ways than one. After 36 books the citizens of Creede and Bachelor are family and Mama M visiting her daughter, Isla, is definitely appropriate. I love the descriptions of Mam and her interactions with the family. Jo Noelle has managed to bring us a story with romance, humor, strong story line and a few twists. A totally enjoyable book. I hope I don't keep my guardian angel as busy as the people of Creede do theirs.

💞 Isla and Asa 💞

Isla finally finds love, but her old fears continue to plague her. Will she be able to overcome those fears with the help of her special angel?

Poor Asa loves Isla so much, but lives with constant insecurity. He fumbles around in his pursuit of her, and berates himself afterwards.

Edwin was a bit annoying in this story. Isla is his sister, yes, but she’s 35 years old…I think she’s fully capable of making life decisions. 🙄

Great Story!

This is the 36th story in the Cowboys and Angels series. We finally have Isla's story. She's the last of Edwin's sisters to find her happy ever after. She finds it with a mine owner, Asa Young. Each has their own problems from previous events in their lives. The angel has a repeat appearance from previous stories, Mama M, Isla's mother. It's the nice story.

Invitation from Isla

The Angel angle makes for an interesting storyline. It catches you off guard to realize the main character's deceased Mother is involved.

Great storyline, absolutely great characters; they are mature adults, respectful of each other & those around them.. I enjoyed Asa & Isla's love story, like the awesomeness of it.

Good read. Enjoy

This is the story of Isla and Asa. They are just starting to know each other when Isla starts seeing her Mam McCrae. Finally her Mam tells her shes her Guardian Angel and she has a task for her "there are 4 women that are cousins coming and Isla needs to find them jobs, place to live and husbands right away".
This story is different, humorous, and sweet.
I really enjoyed reading it.

Since Isla was hurt really badly by a fiance in Ireland, she is hesitant about letting any man toy with her affections. She had major trouble when she found out Asa was of "higher class" than she was because of his status. But her guardian angel, Mama M, finally got her to listen and set her straight.
Another great series by this author.

Sweet and tender

This was a sweet story about friendship turning to love. Of course, there are still those few trying to cause trouble in Creede. However, with a little heavenly help true love prevails.

Isla finally found someone who loved her for herself and not her position in life. She has sworn off all rich men. Asa lost friends and family to mining accidents so he doesnt want to get close to anyone since that is his industry. Will he let Isla in his heart? Will she still love him after she finds out his true occupation?
