Levi Barra receives a telegram warning him to pay off a loan he wasn’t aware existed or risk losing his ranch. Since his half-sister has been badgering him for months about finding a good woman to marry, he decides the quickest way to solve both his problems is to advertise for a mail-order bride with a background in law.
Felicity Braxton has all but given up her dream of practicing law, because not one firm on the East coast seems willing to hire a female lawyer. So when the Boomtown Mail Order Brides Company describes the unlimited opportunities on the Western frontier, she can’t sign a contract fast enough — though she fully plans to negotiate a delay in her wedding ceremony upon her arrival.
She didn’t count on falling so quickly for her bashful giant of a groom-to-be any more than he intended to put her in danger by going head-to-head with an unscrupulous financial firm.
He can only pray her fiery spirit combined with his Paul Bunyan strength will be enough to save his homestead and each other.
What I really love about the story is it's very straight forward and easy to read, I appreciate that it didn't have any cliffhangers and I love the exchanged of words specially when they admitted to each other about their feelings. ❤
After finishing her law school Felicity is ready to go to work as a lawyer but nobody wants a female lawyer. Then she discovers a mail order advertisement from a man who needs legal advice. Levi is desperate, he needs someone who can help him out of legal trouble. Than he discovers he can kill two birds with one stone by writing for a lawyer wife. When she arrives he’s surprised by the lovely lady who steps of the train, but what he comes to know isn’t very nice. Can she still help him with his problems and will they have a HEA when the problems are solved. Entertaining story, loved the cat that she ‘saved’ . Well written. Looking forward to read the next story in this series.
Felicity was a young woman who had just finished her schooling for a lawyer and had been looking for a job but no one would hire her. Levi Bara had placed an ad for a bride but one of the things he was looking for in a wife was a lawyer. Felicity was sent to Hope valley by the Boom Town Bride Co. As Levi's bride only to have her lay down some guidelines for him. Amid the confusion and mystery and love Felicity and Levi had a hard time to fulfill the dreams they had. This was a great book on love and mystery as well as some suspense. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
Levi has decided to order himself a mail - order bride with the stipulation that she be a lawyer. Seeing a notice about mail order brides in the West and seeing the request for a gmail attorney she decides to apply. Will she be able to help Levi and his brothers save their homestead, will they decide the have romantic feeling for one another? You will enjoy reading this short story about their adventures.
This mail order bride series has a unique premise- part romance and part suspense. The only mail-order bride contract with a rescue clause or a team of cowboys sworn to defend and protect any mail-order bride who runs into trouble during her journey west. Levi Barra receives a telegram warning him to pay off a loan he wasn’t aware existed or risk losing his ranch so to solve his problem he advertises for a mail-order bride with a background in law. Welcome redhead Fiery Felicity. A page turning read filled with drama and unexpected plot twists.
I’ve enjoyed all the Mail-Order bride stories in this series but Fiery Felicity is a favorite! It was written so well and Felicity was a lawyer with a strong personality. She was a get things done type of women. He was a big lumberjack type guy just trying to keep their homestead going for his family. Someone sends a telegram saying he owed past due money on his ranch and the story begins.. lots of twists and turns but in the end it was a wonderful love story! Jovie Grace is a very talented author! I highly recommend this book and the entire series.
I liked the main characters. Both contact the Boomtown Mail Order Brides Company after seeing their advertisement bragging about some of their brides being lawyers.
Levi needs a lawyer, and his sister wants him to get married. Felicity is certified to be a lawyer, but no one wants to hire a lady lawyer. If she heads out West, she stands a chance at working as a lawyer, starting with renegotiating her mail-order bride contract.
It was like at first sight, respect after learning about each other a little bit, and love by the time the action starts. I loved the twists there!
Now I am enjoying this book of short stories and the amazing mail order brides. Now you might say they are a bit dishonest but one so far have really wanted a husband. They just needed a little help getting someplace else. Felicity wanted a career and Levi offered her that opportunity. How the author mixes love into the ambition of the women is a treat.
Thoroughly enjoyable story with great characters. I just love the Barra family. Levi has some legal issues and Felicity is a newly minted lawyer unable to get anyone to hire a female lawyer. What better considerations for a mail order bride. Just the right amount of intrigue to keep you interested. The final confrontation between Felicity and her uncle is simply awe inspiring. Love it.
Fiery Felicity reminds me that there is quite possibly someone who sees our worth even if we don’t see it ourselves. I don’t want to give away the story which was delightful, I’ll just say Enjoy 💜
Jo Grafford continues her series Mail Order Brides Rescue with another fast-moving exciting story of Levi Barra, the oldest brother, and his mail-order bride. I loved these characters! The plot is excellent, and keeps readers on the edge of their seats.
The mail order bride rescue series is a funny, romantic and mystery about rescuing mail order bride from themselves. Gorgeous cowboys and beautiful brides with unscrupulous bad guys make delicious stories.
It was a very enjoyable read for me! Made me laugh.
It showed how the love of a good man and his family could win the heart of a young woman who had been tragically orphaned at a young age and raised by her uncle who showed her no care or love.
I love this book and found it intriguing. It had twists and turns and it kept my interest throughout. Reading it was reading an adventure even if i could know the ending. I consider it a wonderful cozy read.
Have to admit I wasn't sure after book 1 but once again book 2 brought some things together and this book is my favorite so far. Levi was despicable in book 1 but now he's my favorite of the male lead characters.
This was another rip roaring adventure. But what I liked most about it was that she rescued herself. She was so angry at her uncle for what he did to her parents, and she rescued Levi’s ranch while she was at it.
