About the author

Jevon Bolden is a book editor, writer, literary agent, and CEO of Embolden Media Group, a boutique publishing consulting firm. Books she has written as other people or edited as herself have appeared on national best-sellers’ lists and have sold millions of copies around the world. Starting her fifteen-year career in traditional book publishing as a copyeditor, she moved quickly into senior editor roles with publishers for both adult and children’s titles. As a conference speaker, workshop facilitator, writing coach, and mentor, Jevon shares the best of what she knows with passionate, creative, and influential people who desire to publish great books that make a difference. Jevon has a bachelor’s degree in English, with a minor in sociology, from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and lives in sunny Central Florida with her family.

This book helped me focus on what God is doing in me and through my book. Although it's targeted more for pre-published authors who are just starting, I was able to apply the devotions to where I'm at in the editing process. God confirmed many things for me concerning my writing. I'm thankful for this intentional time and will be returning to read it again in future writing seasons.

This book was inspiring, insightful and encouraging. The daily devotionals were an "easy" read but the journaling and prayer part was hard..because it meant me taking pause and time to listen to the Master Writer as he wrote words on my soul. I gained a lot of insight and will be revisiting this book many more times.

Pray Hear Write: 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting for Breakthrough in Your Writing notice came to my email address, and I yielded. It has made a tremendous difference shift in my perspective. I saw where I needed to repent for things that I allowed to distract me from my calling. I am a writer. I am a verb. Writers are called to worship God by writing. The “how and why” of this revelation is simple.
Jevon Oakman Bolden is an anointed woman of God who followed the plan of the Holy Spirit. Early morning (5 AM EST), we gathered on Facebook and Zoom. She greeted us in Jesus Name. Stayed on track. Prayed and released us. We were honored, Our time was honored. Our resources were honored. There were No “hard sell” tactics. i.e. “I have this book and that book, and this program and that program.” I repeat “No hard sell “tacky tactics.” Her presentation was professional and engaging.
Jevon Bolden remained true to the course and gave golden nuggets of writing wisdom each session. She delivered the inspiration, guidance and advice as found in PRAY HEAR WRITE It was not rushed, canned or hammed. It was effective. Well organized. Excellent. It was glorious. And it had to be all that for me at 4:00 CST AM. I do not like to waste time. Each session was a tangible blessing.
Christian and secular writers’ webinars and books are not new to me. I’ve experienced several. Jevon Bolden’s program is the best. Now, I do not need another “writer be inspired” webinar or book. I brought Bolden’s E book and will use it along with my Bible, and other writers’ tools. PRAY HEAR WRITE is well-written, concise, interactive active, alive and powerful. Its foundation is the Word of God and the text is Holy Spirited inspired. Jevon Bolden is prepared, practiced, gracious, anointed, tech savvy, peaceful and so much more. It has been an amazing experience and time well spent. May Jevon Bolden continue to be favored by God and man. PRAY FAST WRITE is a book that will ignite and catapult writers into the destiny they were created to be. Highly recommended.

The opening line to Pray Hear Write: 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting for Breakthrough in Your Writing, by Jevon Bolden, helped me refocus on why I began writing in the first place:

“Writer, you have a unique weapon at your disposal that can bring healing to the world. That weapon is the written word.”

I have read writing books on craft and participated in webinars on the business of writing, but Pray Hear Write guided me to invite God into each step of my writing process. This book helped me surrender to God all aspects of my writing from craft to draft to publication to promotion. It exhorted me to rely on God’s strength, to persevere and pray through any problems that impeded my writing process. It rekindled my passion to bring hope to people through my words for God’s greater purposes.

I purchased the hardback and was pleasantly pleased with the softness of the pages, which is cleverly different from the majority of books I have, Her unique concept of the bold and light fonts is an added treat to this literatary work of art. By the time I was at Day 5, I was in tears because of the heartfelt revelations I was receiving as I read the daily devotions. I am a writer and an artist, so I am using the spiritual guidance in both areas of my life. Jevon should had added a bonus of a box of tissues with each purchase of her book because it has truly touched my heart and provoked positive change in my writing and artist habits.

Jevon flows from her heart encouraging everyone who writes to consider the gift giver, and partner with Him to impact our world with a mature word. She is thoughtful, insightful, and definitely shows her expertise in inclining her heart to hear from Heaven and bring a little piece of it here to Earth. Using this book and the teachings within, I was able to complete a huge writing project. Bolden’s approach to getting past the fear and writing with a divine perspective works. I would highly recommend this book to all creatives of faith! I especially loved the journaling portion of the book to help get the most out of each day’s reading.

This book is perfect for Nanowrimo participants to jumpstart their creative juices. Bolden does an excellent job of giving you the fundamentals in an articulate and succinct manner.

Outstanding for the Kingdom Called Writer

This book is full of wisdom, both ancient and new. It is practical for a 21st century writer while being full of scriptural guides for the art. Personally, the reading and fast has come at what I know to be God’s will and timing. Jevon Bolden encourages, exhorts and calls up the writer in such an incredible way through 21 days. She leads the writer through purpose, calling, clarity, and power and emboldens them throughout. I loved every part of this book.
